About
A one-day trip to Ourika Valley or Yureken, as the people of the region call it in Tamazight, is an escape trip to a quiet place away from the world's high speed, the lights, and the noise of cities. A trip to a small perfect place for relaxation, but some people, it has become a natural resort for meditation and treatment of stress and tension because the small town of Ourika is located in the heart of the high-rises of the High Atlas Mountains, on agricultural lands in vibrant green tones, traversed by a river flowing in a valley named after In its name, it is characterized by its smooth flow throughout the year, penetrating the mountains of the region and giving life to its residents.
The town of Ourika was known by several names, including The Hidden Jewel of Marrakesh, as some called the Marrakesh Herbal Pharmacy, because of the thousands of visitors and tourists for the acquisition of rare types of plants, whether for treatment, planting, or decoration.

- rover-va0 contributionsSahara experienceThe camel ride and the night in the desert was nice but that was the all that was included. The food in the hotel was almost not worth eating and the wifi was poor. If I were to do it again, I'd do it in a shorter period of time.Written March 18, 2025

I was travelling with elderly parents and Esmail adapted our activities to meet their needs. A delicious lunch was provided as well as regular breaks for coffee and comfort breaks. I would not hesitate to recommend Esmail if you are looking for a day away from the bustle of Marrakech. Albeit just a day trip I feel I’ve come away with a real taste of Moroccan culture.Written March 5, 2025

We spent a magnificent day at Ourika. I really recommend this excursion via this agency because the service and the price are very attractive: driver and guide included. The driver picks you up and takes you back to the hotel; the guide takes you on a circuit that only we would not have known. And really, the price is very reasonable.

Ismail was a wonderful guide, knowledgeable and friendly. The connections at every stop were smooth and stress free. We had an intense day at the Medina the day before and this was the perfect antidote. We felt like we saw the real Morocco and Berber villages, benefited from friendly yet professional guides, no stress, no pressure, just special memories... And the harissa from La Belle Rose restaurant was fabulous! Special mention to our guide Nordeen who was the perfect balance of encouraging and supportive and letting us prove our strength getting up the mountain. We will sleep well tonight but it has been a brilliant day!

This was trip that we chose after we spoke with Mariam - the owner of Great Travel agency. She volunteered to join us on the trip and provided us with the private van driven by the agency's best driver - Esmail. I have to say that we insisted on having Esmail as driver after a wonderful trip we made to Essaouira a day before. Mariam and Email changed the whole our outlook on the travel industry in Morocco. They are one of the few people in Morocco who understand customer service and are willing to go an extra mile to please the customer. If we do come back to Morocco, it will be due to an excellent service we received from Mariam and Email. Thank you!!!

Lovely day trip from Marrakech with great driver and guide. The mountains are cooler than the city so be prepared in winter. Lunch is 120 Dirhams, cash only. Plenty of opportunities to buy local goods. The people and culture are the highlight of this trip. The argan oil factory is expensive and you can likely get cheaper products elsewhere but the talk is really interesting. We saw Barbary monkeys, a highlight for me.

Great day in the Ourika valley. We were 8 girls and private transport with a very kind and available driver. 1st stop in the cooperative where we were very well received. The people were warm and accommodating. 2nd stop in the Berber house, a little less interesting. 3rd stop at the waterfall where we were welcomed by a great local guide, who showed us trails other than the tourist places. We were able to ask him all our questions and learn more about the traditions and history of the place. Then eat with your feet in the water: simple and good dishes. Fast service.
On the way back, we stopped at a pottery store.
Very good memories and great experiences!

We were picked up and the driver was very friendly. However, the entire trip was like a sales pitch. Our tour guide would leave us in there markets to get preyed on by merchants. The tour was very fast paced and we were often left behind by the tour guide. We were sitting on some chairs and were asked to leave if we didn’t buy food. The tour guide also left us at an expensive restaurant at the very end of the tour while the driver was thirty minutes late to pick us up, so everyone had to order something. The tour guide asked us for a tip at the end—if you did your job well, you wouldn’t need to ask.
