Seeing the desert with your own eyes and touching it with your own hands is an amazing experience. Berber villages were also very interesting to visit thanks to our guides Mohamed in Ait Ben Haddou and Yassine in Tinghir. They are very friendly, kind and funny people and the visits wouldn't be the same without them.Written September 26, 2024

Firstly, the tour promises a max of 17 per group, this wasn't the case with there being well over 50 and meant we only had 15 mins in total with the tour guide and when we had it he never explained anything about the history of the places so we got no information, so actually you have no tour guide. The stops along the way felt like we were being shipped from shop to shop to buy goods . The food was really average and overpriced. The ride on the camels was nice but there were not enough camels and some people from the group had to walk 30 minutes at night to get to the camp. When we arrived in the camp a total organizational chaos, 20 people had no tent, we waited 2 hours to get dinner and after 1st hour heater in the restaurant went off and we were freezing in -2. They should have fire closer to the tents so as to get a warm temperature before sleep. In the morning no one gave us breakfast and NOTHING WARM TO DRINK as promised !!! We left with a camel but in the middle of the way he took us down saying that he must go back and get the others, so we walked 30 minutes at 08.00 in the freezing morning in the dessert to go to the van.To conclude i write al these things because many people think that for all these 100 euros is ok, because they think with their own pocket and not moroccan price, overally i would recommend to find a good company that specializes in the dessert and take a 4 day well organised only dessert tour that would take you to the depth of dessert.

Our tour guide, Rachid, was kind and enthusiastic, and for the most part you get what you pay for, but some aspects of the tour were disappointing.
Also, please take the glowing reviews here with a grain of salt; our guide Rachid was pressuring our group to post positive reviews of the tour, even going so far as to write the review himself and to press submit.
As in the description, lunches are not provided on the tour. You will be expected to purchase your own lunches every day. Be prepared to spend a minimum of 100dh (~$10) daily at extremely mediocre restaurants in middle-of-nowhere Morocco. You won’t have any other options. Expect the food that’s included to be equally bad.
On the first day of the tour we were taken to Ourzazate where we were sent on a walking tour through a really cool old village. However they don’t warn you how much walking and going up stairs you have to do on the tour— and I’m physically disabled.
On the second day of the tour, we departed our hotel in Tinghir at 8am and had to go on a walking tour through the local town. The guide was very kind but the tour itself started way too early and felt like a waste of time and energy. It ended with us sitting in a Berber rug shop while the shop owner tried to sell us rugs. It wasn’t really what we came for.
The accommodations provided on the first night were acceptable (Hotel Saghro), but the desert camp was miserable. It was freezing at nighttime (we traveled in January) and there is no source of warmth in the tents. If you want an electric blanket, you can pay €60 extra to be brought to a “luxury camp” instead. We opted for the budget camp.
The best part of the tour was watching the sunset in the dunes. The temperature is just right and they give you a nice amount of time to enjoy the scenery.
However, I think the tour overestimates how much one desires to travel by camel. There will be a 1 hour camel ride to the desert camp at sunset which had us more than satisfied, but then there was a 1 hour camel ride at sunrise which was just brutal— it was about 30 degrees the entire time. We would’ve much rather taken a different form of transportation back to the tour van.
Make sure you take all of this into consideration before booking this tour, and do your research to see if there’s a better option for you.

I’d just spent a week travelling solo in Morocco where I’d completed two smaller tours with different companies before this one. Whilst the others were great, I would say they don’t compare at all to this one. If you’re going for a week in Morocco, I would make this your final tour as it has been the highlight of my trip. It has been packed with adventure from start to finish and I’ve met some great people along the way. Our driver and guide, Muhammad, did a remarkable job of taking us safely through the mountains and desert. Muhammad explained the history of many of the sights we’d seen during our trip and was always happy to answer any questions from us. He also helped us learn the important Arabic and Berber words.
For me, the best part of the tour was the campfire under the desert sky. Different groups and their guides all come together around the fire and sing, play drums, and dance. The vibe is unlike anything I have ever experienced. Sharing drinks and talking, singing and dancing with strangers. All of the guides were great and helped members from other groups, but Muhammad in particular really brought energy to it with his dancing and singing. We all got involved and had a remarkable time. When it quieted down, Muhammad and Mostapha presented us with jokes and riddles by the fire. It was such a good time.
Morocco Global Adventures could charge double for this tour and you’d still be getting an absolute bargain. The amount we squeezed into 3 days was very impressive and I’d gladly do it all over again. Muhammad and the other guides are a credit to their company and I would highly recommend.

This trip was overall a good time, but not what I was expecting. I would say it is worth it for the price, but there are some things that you need to know.
1. It’s a ton of driving. If you get easily car sick, don’t go one this trip.
2. The food really isn’t great, but it’s fine. It’s a lot of the same stuff over and over again
3. It’s not an authentic trip. We were technically in a small group, but we were with 6 other small groups to make this massive caravan or tourists.
4. The desert was kind of not worth it. Seeing the camels was nice but it was very staged. They made you feel like silly tourists and put on this bit about being real Moroccan Berbers but it was just weird and forced.
5. The tent situation was fine but the toilets didn’t flush, so you can imagine how that situation was. I didn’t shower there so I can speak to that.
Good things:
1. You get to go to the Sahara which is really cool.
2. You get to go to a Berber village, and even though it’s a total sales pitch, the rugs they make are beautiful and very well priced compared to Marrakesh.
3. We made a lot of stops along the way to see the beautiful mountains
4. It is NOT as cold as they say it is. It is “cold” but I am from Texas and I was fine. I visited in February. You’ll be fine haha

Really satisfied. The route is explained in detail in the advertisement, so I will not be here to repeat it. I can assure you that what is written on the internet has been faithfully respected. Here are the other reasons why I gave it 5 stars:
• The places visited are very suggestive. They deserve to be seen at least once.
• Abdelkhalek (our driver) is very friendly. We stopped every time we asked him, he showed us some good and cheap places to have lunch or shop.
• The Van is new, equipped with air conditioning.
• the hotel exceeded my expectations: friendly and helpful staff, 2 swimming pools, air conditioning in the room, excellent breakfast.
• The desert camp is very beautiful, again friendly and fun staff. After dinner they light a bonfire, and the guests play, sing and dance with them. The food was good.
• The price for this type of 3-day tour is currently the cheapest I have found. Local agencies also offer significantly higher prices. What's more, here the whole journey is explained in great detail, and you have many reviews. Be careful if you decide to buy an excursion directly when you are in town.
The only "negative" note, in hindsight I would have stayed longer in the desert. I recommend spending a little more and booking the 5-day tour, if you have the opportunity.

The trips is a must if you want to visit the desert, but what they are selling it's not what you can expect.
There is some considerations that you must have, before buying it.
There is no free or spare time in all the trip. they control the timings and where you must buy and which restaurants you will ate.
The thing is that, they charge you a tourist price for basic meal, that have not included the drinks. for example, a simple tahine meal with a salad with out a drink they will charge you 120 MAD that is 11 euros. and the real price for that kind of meal should not be more than 70 MAD.
They advise that the camp is layali camp on the the comments and the photos. the reality is that is not even close. its another one and the bath are shared and after some time get dirty as the point of you don't feel confortable to go in there.
There are no plugs on the tend to charge any device. and the dinner is ok after all.
points for the trip:
the driver and the guide were really nice and delightful. caring about every one on the van and nice all the time.
the first hotel is confy. perhaps the meal was simple and you had to pay for the drink but it was ok.
the trip o the cammels was fun and the guides were also really helpful.
overall is a good experience, perhaps the info that their giving it's not 100% accurate.

+ Our Guide ‚Ayoub‘ was amazing, we had a lot of fun. He speaks good English, was very helpful and told us a lot about the culture of Marokko. The hotel (with pool) & desert camp was beautiful and considering the price we got a lot more than we expected. It is true that we visited some shops where they showed us the traditional way to make argan oil, traditional clothes, rugs.. etc. but we were never forced to buy anything. We have seen a lot in this 3 days and could make a lot of memories (I mean .. just look at the pictures!)
- You can not choose the restaurants yourself, the guide will bring you to a restaurant where you can chose from the overpriced menu. Considering the cheap price for the tour, however, it’s okay to pay 10€ extra per lunch. Also they were very helpful to prepare vegan food for us. (We told our guide in advance and he was very helpful that we get enough food). But Everybody in our group didn’t like the food and you will eat the same things all the time and you spend a lot of hours in the car, so make sure you bring some (audio)-books and snacks!
All in all the cool parts outweighed the food and long bus rides - I would book again!!

I booked the tour online after reading the reviews and literally feel quite happy at end of trip. Everything was planned perfectly fine from the pick up in Marrakech till the drop off everything was perfectly managed. Our guide Rashed was a highly professional person who is committed to his work and loving his job also giving us details on every single thing on the way. LA kasba, Canyon, Camel Ride, sand boarding, the beautiful sand dunes and night in desert was really awesome. The dinner was delicious followed by music with campfire.

Dec 2023 • Solo
I was travelling solo and wanted to go to the desert to celebrate the start of the New year. When I started planning it for myself the planning quickly got daunting and expensive, especially at high tourist season. So I joined Youssef and a group of 16 people for the 3 days trip from 30/12 to 01/01/2024. This trip was everything I had hoped for and more. Youssef took care of us like we were his own family, going above and beyond to ensure everyone's comfort and needs were met. Everything was on time and following a precise schedule that Youssef briefed us on everyday at the start of the day and kept us updating us at every stop.
One of the trip highlight was visiting UNESCO's Heritage Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. Here, Youssef introduced us to a local guide who was not only knowledgeable but also grew up in the Kasbah and still resides near it, which provided us with the most authentic insights into the site's history and current state after the recent earthquake. The guide was passionate for his heritage and indigenous language and practices which added a unique depth and perspective to our visit.
Youssef's attention to details and sensitivity to the group's comfort diverse culinary preferences was remarkable. When some members expressed dissatisfaction with the food served, he proactively communicated with restaurants to ensure upcoming meals were tailored to their familiar tastes, showing his dedication to our overall experience. The trip also included various activities like camel riding, sand boarding and memorable ones like attending the last sunset of the 2023 and the first sunrise of 2024 in the depth of the Sahara dunes.
Youssef also throw us a big party inside the dunes to celebrate the New Year 🎊 there was music, a huge camp fire, cake and even fireworks 🎆
This trip with Youssef was more than just a desert adventure; it was a journey filled with cultural richness, personal care, and unforgettable memories. I highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking to explore the desert with a guide who truly understands and respects both the land and his guests.

I have chosen this tour because of the fantastic reviews I have read.
After living the experience I can clearly say that there will never be enough words to describe what I have experienced in these 3 days. It’s such a mix of million emotions and feelings , going home with such memories that will forever be unforgettable.
Our guide Abdul its been amazing, to the point where he helped my husband in organising a surprise for my 30th birthday with cake. Priceless.
All the tour has so many nice stops that makes the long travelling a pleasure itself.
I truly recommend the quad experience, there is an additional charge to pay, but to see the sunrise while driving the quad it’s been the perfect way to leave the desert.
Thank you Abdul and the company for everything.

You can take all of your luggage with you. It will be brought to your tent by the drivers in pickup trucks . You do not need to pack a small weekender bag for your night in the Sahara

Hi. Can anyone share about their experience about the Luxury camp option please.
Would you be able to share the name of the camp site?
Do they offer options to choose a luxury camp site or they choose for you?
Also, given the scorching heat this season, does their tents come with air conditioning?
Will appreciate to hear any feedbacks. thank youu

Hi. Is there somewhere to leave the suitcases when we are in the dessert? We will have day packs but worried about the larger bags. Thank you.
