- Voyage8160760 contributionsCustomized day trip from Marrakech to SafiWe went on an all-day trip from Marrakech to Safi to visit the National Ceramics Museum, tour the Jewish cemetery and synagogue, and to see the whole process of Moroccan pottery being hand-crafted. Safi is an interesting city dating from ancient times. The city walls and fortifications are impressive. The Ceramics Museum is well worth a visit. The whole history of ceramics in Morocco, from ancient times to the present, is represented in chronological order. Safi is also of importance as a center of Judaica and a center of Jewish life going back to ancient times. It is still a center for pottery manufacture and very fine pottery and ceramics are made here and are available at reasonable prices. I highly recommend Marrakech First Trip and the service provided by Soufian Laamiry. He will customize your travels to suit your personal interests. He is also very good company and offers a wealth of experience as a driver and tour organizer. There were so many things to see in Safi that we ran out of time and didn't get as far as Oualidia. That will have to wait until next time.Written September 29, 2024
- Voyage8160760 contributionsDay trip to the Ourika valley with lunch by the river, spectacular scenery, and a delicious lunch by the riverThis was an amazing trip, up a narrow gorge along a road that winds through small villages and climbs higher and higher. You definitely need an experienced driver because the road is narrow and on the edge of a cliff. I highly recommend Soufian Laamiry. He specializes in tours going over the Atlas Mountains. He stays calm and always shows good judgment when negotiating tricky road conditions, so that you can relax and enjoy the spectacular views and not worry. The highlight of our outing was lunch at a restaurant at the edge of the river, down a long stairway from street level. Soufian, apart from his skill as a driver, is charming company. He speaks English and French fluently. I couldn't recommend him more highly.Written September 29, 2024

- 798hirutm0 contributionsTouring Morocco in the heat of the summerI only gave it 4/5 because at times there was too many sightseeing scheduled in a day. It would have been nice to have a little more free time. Having said that, our tour guide Omar was simply fantastic!!! He is very knowledgeable about Morocco’s history and culture. He answered all our questions in detail and with context so we have better understanding. He has a wonderful sense of humor and easy to talk to. He went above and beyond to make sure all travelers were happy! He was our photographer, translator to local languages, made sure we were all hydrated, given the heat of the season, and even carried our luggages to our rooms when the hotel staff is slow or busy!! Traveling with Omar was a pleasure.Written August 13, 2024
