About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- E2073KEalexw0 contributionsA unique tour in MarrakechExcellent tour of the great hidden spots in Marrakesh! Ayoub was very friendly, great fun, and gave us fantastic insights into life in the city - this is the tour you need to do when visiting Marrakesh.Written November 24, 2021
- Meredith J0 contributionsUnique Moroccan Adventure! This tour was different from many others as it showed us unique spots for drinking alcohol, a somewhat unusual custom for Moroccans. The spots showed different cultures of Marrakech and the drinks were great! We tried local beer and wine and ate a lot of food! Ali was outstanding! He was very knowledgeable of Marrakech and Moroccan customs. He introduced to all the local areas and foods to help us prepare for the rest of our days in Marrakech. He was entertaining and kind. He even walked us back to our hotel, to make sure we knew how to get around the city! I highly recommend Ali for any tour!Written November 7, 2021
- ROBIN J0 contributionsBest tour in MarrakechMy family of 5 (my husband and 3, 20+ year old daughters) did this tour at the last minute, when we first arrived in Marrakech, and we were so glad we did. Ali, our tour guide spoke perfect English and was so friendly and knowledgeable about Morocco. Not only, did he take us to the two bar stops and dinner, which were delightful, but he also gave us a short tour of the Medina, and taught us the “street smarts” of the market/souks. He even walked us back safely to the hotel! We asked him a thousand questions and he always answered enthusiastically. The owner of the tour, Ayoub was also extremely helpful in organizing the tour for us. Our only regret was that we didn’t book all of our tours in Marrakech through The Marrakchi Guide.Written November 4, 2021
- 967nathanc0 contributionsBest Drinks and Insight! What a way to see the city! Ayoub was hospitable, intelligent and really engaged with us throughout the evening. He also gave us great insight into the cultural traditions of Morocco that helped for the rest of the stay there.Written November 1, 2021

We especially loved the library/wine venue. The group's dinner that evening was delicious, and Ayoub even surprised me with a surprise gift. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Morocco.Written September 26, 2021

- skeeler59950 contributionsBest sips/bites intro to Marrakech!!Ayoub was fantastic!! He was very knowledgeable and fun. It was my first experience during my trip to Marrakech and it was the most perfect introduction to this city. I highly recommend booking this tour with Ayoub - even if you’ve been to Marrakech, the places he picks were so delicious! We were sad he couldn’t be our tour guide the entire trip!Written September 22, 2021
- V8893AIchristinak0 contributionsIncredible Locals Experience for TouristAbsolutely 100% would recommend Ayoub! What an incredible experience. We immediately felt like friends! We did multiple tours and experiences while in Marrakech and none compared to Ayoub’s. We were a group of seven. Don’t hesitate to book this. It’s a true local experience for a tourist. BOOK IT!Written September 21, 2021
- Jblittlejohn0 contributionsA Great Date Night in MarrakechDespite the pandemic, despite the curfew imposed by the government because of the pandemic, despite the heat, despite everything, Ayoub showed us a great time in Marrakech. We drank in an invite only pub, we tasted tapas and gray wine, we ate beef tagine on a roof top at sunset. We walked the market for a post meal digestive. It felt a little like my wife and I were on a date with Ayoub. If true, it was a great date and we would go again. I highly recommend it. Go with the flow of experiences he has planned. You won't be disappointed!Written September 20, 2021
- mmono4090 contributionsFood Tour With A LocalHave you ever had the thought of starting your own business as a guide in your home city? Not the kind of cheesy guide who drives you around and makes the same bad jokes about the same overcrowded tourist traps. A guide who is more like a local friend who takes you to places only locals know and shows you things most tours never would. This is exactly what Ayoub has done. We met up with him and headed off to a local pub for a few beers and popcorn. Not what you might expect from Marrakech, but as I came to learn from Ayoub, it's not as "dry" a place as you might expect. Ayoub was very friendly and easy to talk to. I also appreciated how straight forward and honest he was with us. This made the conversations flow. We talked about each other's lives and the differences and similarities of our cultures. We talked a lot about food as well. We bonded over our love of noodles/pasta. Our next stop was a wine and tapas bar. My husband and I got to try grey wine for the first time, something which Morocco is known for but I had never heard of. I'm now a fan. It also paired well with the amazing spread of tapas: olives, fresh sardines, tapenade, along with some other local treats I can't remember the name of. My husband and I both stuffed our faces. Everything was fresh and delicious. Ayoub slyly asked which of the tapas was our favorite and then ordered another round of them when I wasn't looking, which is a great move I might have steal next time I have friends in from out of town. Although stuffed full of delicious tapas Ayoub next ushered us to a beautiful roof top dinner. As we looked across the rooftops of Marrakech we ate lamb tagine with fluffy wood fired bread and continued our conversation as the sun began to set. After dinner we all took a stroll through a nearby market passing venders selling almost anything you can imagine and probably some things you can't. He took us to a vender who sold digestives. This particular one was a tea with a Christmasy mix of herbs and spices, almost like chia but more potent tasting. After I'd had a few sips, Ayoub asked the vender for something and came back with a little cup filled with little white crystals. It wasn't crystal meth, but it was probably stronger. It was a kind of crystalized peppermint that you can add to your digestive. It tasted like Jack Frost driving a semi truck full of Vicks Vapor Rub and Junior Mints ran over your taste buds. I've never had anything like it and I'll never forget it. Which in many ways summed up the night. It was an unforgettable experience and I'm very glad to have met Ayoub. If you're traveling and you want a real experience instead of a cookie cutter one, go with a local and as locals go, you can't do much better than Ayoub. I can't recommend him enough!Written September 7, 2021
- ivys8500 contributionsAmazing food tour in Marrakech!I join food tours in each of the countries I travel to. This experience in Marrakech was one of my favorites! The food we got to try we would never have been able to find on our own. There were five people in our party and each felt very happy with this food experience. We highly recommend booking!!Written August 29, 2021

My girlfriend & I joined this tour as we were looking for an authentic way to experience the local food without any aftermath issues.
The tour was well structured, the quality of food was amazing, we would never of found it on our own.
Ayoub, our guide, was informative and approaching. He made sure we were all having great fun. As a group of 8, he kept each one of us well informed and having fun.
We highly recommend this tour.

Great guide that led us to good food, all covered by the trip. Could have done without the rug/argan stops (basically they give you a short lesson, then try to sell you. just politely say no) but the stops at the olive, pastry, and mechoui were all delicious and great. Would definitely recommend to anyone to do this on their first day in the city - a great way to get a sense of the city before you dive in on your own.

Atika was our guide this past Sunday and we had a lovely time with her. She took us through most of the souk which was lovely as there are many areas people will never find by themselves.
It was super easy to ask her about things we'd see and she would also share great information with us. She even told us about what food stall to eat at (if we must lol) and what restaurants in the square were well priced.
I enjoyed every stop we made for tastings and the final stop for Tanjia was delicious and generous!
I recommend this tour if it's the first time you come to discover the souk because it can be overwhelming. Now I know what to look for and where to eat!

My Australian girlfriend and i wanted to try something different in Marrakech she was interested on a foody tour and shopping experience. We met Ayoub at Cafe de France then we started walking through the narrow alleys of the Medina,we tasted different type of moroccan food including Tanjia...then we head to a women cooperative to learn and discover some famous berber rugs, my girlfriend Irene was very interested to handicrafts and finally she bought two beautiful rugs one made in the high atlas mountains and the other from a nomadic tribe in the Sahara desert,it was so fun as we didn't feel any pushing and people in the cooperative were very friendly. Thank Ayoub for this unforgettable experience, we will definitely recommend you to our friends.

Organization was really flexible, when we had to change the date of the tour last minute!
We had the best time exploring Marrakech during this tour. Our guide Issam really knew his way around Marrakech and was able to show us the real Marrakech. Also he had some really interesting stories.
You get a great value for money as the tour in small groups (private in our case) and you will try some marrocan food and end with a nice lunch. All in all really nice tour, highly recommended.

Ali was a knowledgable local guide who was welcoming, polite and relaxed. Lots of extras on our tour and he asked several times if there were some ‘stops’ we wanted to add or skip - so a nice chance to customize (depending on others in the group too). I bought a rug (my big purchase I had planned for), and it was nice to be taken to a respectable vendor. Along the way in the souk he was stopped for a hello several times so we knew he was a true local. I highly recommend this tour- a good one for the beginning of our stay in Marrakesh to get more familiar with local customs. Thanks!
