      Great value walking tour
This was a great day trip despite the 35 degree heat - we didn't realise, but a private tour was literally just for me and my friend. This meant that we could have a big say in what we got to see. What a beautiful city, got to see so many things we wouldn't if we'd wandered on our own. Hakim's knowledge was extensive and he clearly loved talking about his country, perfect guide. Great day - very impressed and very good value for money.

      Magical Medina
This tour was a great way to start our holiday in Marrakech. Ismail was very friendly and knowledgeable, he took us all round the Koutoubia, suggesting great photo opportunities and took us round the Medina and souks, would definitely recommend particularly for first time visits. Very good value for money.

A must experience for a first visit. Mashallah
Our tour with Ismail was the perfect introduction to Marrakech. We soon learnt there is a uniquely African/Moroccan walking pace, slowly, with purpose & at traffic intersections ‘don’t stop’ but.. ‘don’t go’ 😂🙏🏻 We visited many of the ‘Landmark’ places, each beautiful in their own way. Craftsmanship being a proud & lasting testament to Marrakech & its cultural identity. Ismail was the perfect gentleman & open to our endless stream of questions & it was greatly appreciated to walk through the Medinas with a well known local to get & build our bearings & confidence in this lively city. Ismail thank you for keeping us in the shade 😄 & showing us your city. We look forward to another rocket/traditional coffee with you in the future. Shukran Kye&Laura

Brilliant insight into the history and culture of Marrakesh
A really enjoyable and interesting half day tour of the cultural and historic areas of Marrakesh. Our guide Abdul was just brilliant, so friendly, full of knowledge and happy to answer every question. Easy meet location and the small group numbers worked really well.

      Wonderful Marrakech
The tour guide Sharif was very friendly. Gave us a lot of interesting facts about the Marrakech and Moroccan in general culture and history. Visited Bahia Palace, Jewish quarter, local markets, walked around nice parks and Mosque. He gave us few good advices what to visit afterwards on our stay and where to be careful and what to avoid too.

      Great experience
We had an amazing time on our full day guided tour with Hassan. He showed us around the main sites and taught us about the history of Marrakech. He was great with our kids and was very patient. I highly recommend this tour.

      Amazing experience!
A wonderful tour to do. I would highly recommend to anyone coming to Marrakech. Most importantly it’s a great way to have someone assist you with purchasing in the souks.

      Wonderful Walking Tour!
Originally feeling quite nervous as we are two young female travellers new to the country, this tour was perhaps the best introduction to Marrakech and far exceeded our expectations! Abdul our tour guide was amazing, full of wonderful history and helped us feel at ease and confident around the city. To help cope with extreme heats he held frequent breaks, made sure we had plenty of water and shade. Would 100% recommend!

      Poor communication
Went on tour with daughter. Initially arrived at meeting point and no guide eventually a gentleman asked for my name. He had no identity badge on and introduced himself as ?Tarik which was not the name I had on booking confirmation. We went round sites and he gave a good explanation of the history. Was good. On way back my daughter needed toilet as he directed us to a restaurant and said he would wait but when we came out the group was no where to be seen. As I did not know way back and he had tried not to call me we took a taxi to hotel . I tried to email the address on confirmation but no reply. Poor communication.

      Fab trip! Worth every penny!
On Thursday 20 June 24 we hired Abdelfatah Naanaa as our private tour guide for 5 hours to tour Marrakesh city. We could choose where we wanted to go but he also gave us great advice on what was best to visit especially at that time of day. We also had Mohamed as our driver. Both were extremely professional, the vehicle was a very nice Mercedes van. We felt very safe in comparison to other journeys. ABDELfatah was very knowledgeable, his history and his English was fantastic! I would highly recommend this trip and Abdelfatah and Mohamed. We felt we had value for money and definitely taking a guide also gave us a ‘fast pass’ in the queues! We visited the Majorelle gardens, Bahia palace the old school and then had a walking tour of the old city. We would have missed lots without the tour guide. 10/10!

An evening stroll in the Medina.
The best way to see the Medina! My guide was knowledgeable and personable. I arrived late but he patiently waited for me. We talked, laughed and shared afternoon coffee. There is plenty of walking so wear comfortable shoes. I’d do it again should I visit Marrakech in the future.

We did this tour with Mohamed and really enjoyed it. The amount we walked was intense and we saw a brilliant array of different products and locations. We were happy to have his local knowledge as he knew and grew up in the area. He was softly spoken and answered any questions we had.

We particularly loved the gentlemen who were making blankets and scarfs - the craftsmanship was incredible. Couldn’t resist buying a throw!

We also visited a museum which was stunning but did have an entry of 20 MAD which we didn’t know at the time of booking - was totally fine just make sure you are prepared with cash.

The stalls didn’t put an overt amount of pressure on for you to buy things though some were more pushy than others - if you show the slightest bit of interest or touch something then you’ll definitely get pulled into the shops and offered tea etc. we felt confident enough to say no when we felt like it but it’s worth being aware.

It’s clear that Mohammed knew a lot of people and took us to places he claimed were the best prices which if it is true was very much appreciated! Thanks Mohammed :)

Fantastic tour! Mohammed is so knowledgeable about the old city and knows the way around the souks like the back of his hand. We booked a private tour and he tailored it to include anything we wanted to see. He also took us through some of the oldest parts of the city outside the souks that we never would have thought to visit and explained all of the history behind them. We wanted to buy a tagine so he helped us find a good quality one and advised on how best to haggle for a fair price. After the tour it gave us so much more confidence to explore the maze of shops on our own. Highly recommend!

The tours seem to be offered throughout the day. I picked 10am but we could have started at 9am - so just to highlight the place is just starting to open up at 10. By the time the tour finished it was just starting to get a bit of a buzz about the place. This suited us as we didn't particularly want to shop much and didn't want lots of people, but I realise that's the experience many do want, so just bear that in mind when choosing your time.
The tour took us to places we would not have entered, so in that respect it was good - a bakery and weaving blankets. We also visited the blacksmiths area, the lanterns/lights, spices/herbs etc, plasterwork and we stopped for coffee/tea. The commentary from the guide was rather limited and we didn't feel there was that much added value. However, we would recommend having a guide for the souks for sure as you are highly unlikely to find all the different areas by yourself and the shopkeepers did not pester us at all.

Today we had a very interesting and informative tour of the souk area with Hakim and we would thoroughly recommend him as a tour guide. He was courteous and his English was excellent. He had an extensive knowledge of the history of Marrakesh and Morocco. He showed us historic back roads of the oldest parts of the city, he showed us places and hidden gems we would never have seen without his help. He also gave us useful local hints and tips for our time in the city.

Mohammed was incredibly knowledgeable, patient and kind. He answered all of my many questions and showed me some secret spots in the souks, including a communal bread oven! He clearly had excellent relationships with many of the souk sellers and gave me plenty of time to browse and even scored me a freebie. He’s clearly very conscientious and gave me hints and tips regarding souk etiquette and personal safety. I would recommend his tour to anyone visiting marrakech. Thank you Mohammed!

Pleasant stroll around the souks with Abdel our guide.
We met at Cafe de France in the Medina.
A few dirhams are probably worth taking to tip some of the stall holders who do some small demonstrations and we were also taken to a shop selling Argen oil and spices.

With this kind of tour you need to accept that the guide will be pushing you towards certain sellers that they have agreements with, which is understandable. However, a member of my group was an experienced haggler and our guide would step in to interrupt the conversation she was having with the seller and prevent the price from lowering. So keep that in mind if you plan to buy something! It may be worth it for you to make a note of the stand location and go back and purchase your item on your own, uninterrupted. We had a lovely time negotiating with sellers on our own, so this was really an issue specific to being in a tour group with this guide. Ultimately, being scammed of a little money is just part of being a tourist, but you can give this tour a skip and explore solo, as there was not a notable amount of history or backstory that you can’t get from non souk tours.

My wife and I were interested in learning more about the souks of Marrakech, and having been recommended this tour, we were not left disappointed!

Mohamed, our tour guide, accompanied us around the souks, giving us a fascinating insight into the trading history of Marrakech, and the rich culture of artisan trades kept alive in the city by its talented craftspeople.

We visited several artisan trades ranging from shoemakers, to blacksmiths, to spice merchants to book binders, and their stories created a rich cultural patchwork which gave so much context and meaning for our visit into the souks.

Mohammed our tour guide was a wonderful host, very calm and supportive with lots of interesting stories to share. He has a real passion for Marrakech and is a great ambassador for the artisan trades which make for such an authentic travelling experience.

Lastly I would ask the readers of this if they book on the tour to ask Mohamed to show you the best roast lamb in town - the perfect end to the tour and you will not be disappointed....!

Visit Marrakesh, as an absolute must, is the visit the souks from the place Jemaa el Fna or The Medina. One word of warning you need to be prepared. The souks are crowded and can be very intimidating to some as traders often step out and try and talk you into buying merchandise from their store and they always start at quite a high price. Don’t negotiate with sterling dollars or euros just the local currency dirhams. Most of the time I negotiated less than half price and don’t be afraid of just walking away because the trader will normally follow you asking you to meet him halfway. The area is colourful, vibrant exciting and challenging. Be careful of your bags and your phones and if you visit at night time you will enjoy the colourful views of the market stalls and the wonderful smells from the food stalls. Don’t take any pictures of the snakes or the monkeys because the handlers gophers will rush after you and demand money.

We had a wonderful morning getting lost in the winding aromatic streets of the Medina Souks. Our guide Aziz immersed us into life in the Souks; the people, their working lives, how they lived how they ate. He didn’t try and force the history of the area on us but was always ready to add context if you wanted it. He had excellent relationships with some local traders but you never felt this was pressed on you, more that those relationships helped provide the narrative for the tour. I was particularly grateful to Aziz as we’d found some purchases that we liked and as it was our first day we hadn’t got our Dirham so he negotiated with the traders to return later with our cash…thankfully the ATM (cow) provided the milk he required at the end of the tour!! Thank you Aziz!!!
