About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- evagS2792IM0 contributionsStunning trip with a lot of "extras" thanks to our well experienced tour guideWe look back at an amazing two days tour to Mount Toubkal together with two very friendly Mohameds, one our cook and Mule-expert, and one - also called "Phillipp" - our tour guide. While both of them took good care of all our needs, especially the efforts of our tour guide will remain unforgettable to us. Mohamed, to whom we developed a very good relationship during the trek, made us experience way more than we expected and paid for. Beside the hike to the Toubkal base camp (Day one) and the peak and back (Day two), we also got to see a beautiful waterfall close to Imlil. Furthermore, after having shown interest in an aeroplane crash that happened in the 60s in the Toubkal area, Mohamed lead us an alternative way back from the top to the valley: as the only hiking group of many, we took a rather less known path down the North ridge, also adding a short hike to the additional peak of "Thiberine East", were the motor of the crashed aeroplane is still laying. Together, we also explored the cemetery of the crashes' victims that is situated on the way down. We are so very thankful for all of Mohameds effort which amazed and impressed us especially since neither he nor the other guides and chefs ate something during the hike due to Ramadan. Mohamed proved to be a very experienced, and by the way also very multilingual (besides Darijaalso good English and French, a little bit of German, too, and maybe even more languages?) guide, who does not only posses a deep knowledge of the Atlas mountains, but also way beyond that, including the Sahara region, amongst others. Thank you very much, Mohamed our cook and Mohamed (Phillipp) our tour guide! Also a big recommendation for the Riad Jnane el Karma (very beautiful and comfortable, good food and pool!), especially the couple leading it/organizing everything - another Mohamed and his wife - who made us feel quite at home and we're super helpful in any respect. - sikanderw20230 contributionsBest holiday experience I have hadWords cannot describe how amazing this experience was for me. I’m an experienced hiker, and was expecting to climb hills gain some numbers, but I was looked after so well by my guide, Samir, and our chef, who organised the trip, cooked our food sorted accommodation, kept our mule happy, and had a breathtaking 5 days of amazing sights, and interactions with some wonderful locals. I learned a lot on this trip and it was a much needed break from normal life. I will most certainly be doing it again.Written March 18, 2024

- 60ricards0 contributionsMy first 4000!A group of five of us made the ascent of Toubkal. It was fantastic. Both Samir, our guide, and the cooks who accompanied him, treated us wonderfully. Samir has always been very attentive to our physical condition in the hardest parts of the climb (we are all over 50 years old), stopping to rest for a few minutes when he saw that someone needed it. Very happy and looking forward to repeating the adventure with my children in a few years.Written October 23, 2023

- Inge D0 contributionsUnforgettable trek through the Atlas. We did a unforgettable trek through 3 different valleys of the Atlas Mountains with our 2 sons of 20 and 18 years old. We had a wonderful guide, Mehmed, who perfectly knows the region and told us a lot about the mountains, culture and the country. He adapted the tour to our level and added a few walks more. There was also a lot of variation in the landscape. The guesthouses were basic stays but very clean and friendly people. The food during the trek was very good, thanks to the cook who joined us with his mule. We picknicked at the most beautiful spots. I highly recommend Trek in Morocco who organised this perfectly well. If you want a memory for a life time, get in contact with Trek in Morocco, you will not regret it!Written July 22, 2023

Each day the countryside was just a little bit different and it was a good mix of lush green valleys and rugged mountains with stunning views. Abdul our guide was excellent at setting a suitable pace and making us feel comfortable and well cared for. Omar our muleteer and cook excelled himself with great meals along the way. Thea accommodation in gites was comfortable after a days hiking. Thanks to the Trek in Morocco team for making it a great experience.Written July 2, 2023
- MBonikowska0 contributionsStunning Atlas in great company with a great crewSome time ago, we decided to summit Toubkal 4167m but we didn't want to go on obvious route Imlil - Refuge - Toubkal and back home. We got a tailored, well prepared trekking - circuit of Toubkal in 6 days via Lake Ifni and 3 passes 3100 3500 and 3700m. Stunning views, wild nature... we were the only ones at the Lake - you could not dream about more. We had wonderful time thanks to our guide MohammedWritten July 1, 2023

This was one of the most memorable days of all my travels. What is called a hike or trek is rather a walk along the “streets” that connect one Berber village with another. Men on donkeys, children going to school and woman carrying on with their daily chores and routines with the snow capped Atlas Mountains as a backdrop. It snapped me back into reality. Less is more. Or, with more, comes more stress. I stray. Samir was the PERFECT guide. His sincerity and love for what he does poured out of him. It’s your day. He wants you to have a great day and get out of it what you want. He made sure we were safe as we were ill prepared for the unexpected snowy conditions. We were even fortunate enough to bump into one of his children while walking and the hug and kiss he gave his son was heart warming. If you’re looking for a guide that will hold your hand, and provide a sincere and insightful day in the Berber villages, stop your search. Samir is a genuinely good person who is proud of what he does and it shows.

I highly recommand this private 4-days trek through three valleys of the Atlas Mountains. The guide Mehmed was very experienced and knew the region perfectly. He was very flexible and adapted the tour to our level. He even added 3 additional hikes! The food, carried by a mule, during the hike was very good and we picknicked on the most beautiful spots in the Atlas Mountains. We stayed in local guesthouses with very friendly people and clean accomodation. Price/quality perfect! If you like hiking, nature and are interested in the berber life, do not hesitate to book this tour, you will not regret it!!

Samir led me and three friends on a half-day hike through the High Atlas Mountains. We saw a waterfall, had lunch and visited a shop filled with handmade goods. The hike was tiring but, as the oldest person in the group, at age 69, it was doable and worthwhile excursion. The scenery was a great break from the crowded Medina, where we were staying in a lovely riad in Marrakech. Samir was sympathetic and helpful to all of us daytrippers, including when one member briefly got sick, apparently from the altitude. Samir also was eager to take photos during the excursion.

We had a guided tour in the Atlas Mountains with Samir. The hike was incredibly beautiful and he was a wonderful guide. He shared lots of great information and we ended our tour having delicious mint tea in his home. We will definitely use him again to guide us.

What an incredible journey! We went from Marrakesh to Imlil, walking from village to village in the Atlas mountains, finally summiting Toubkal. From there we headed south towards the desert, spending one night in the Sahara after being ferried on the back of a camel.
This was a very well organised trip. A special thanks to everyone involved - we enjoyed every moment of it and felt well looked after!

We recently had an amazing time in the Atlas Mountains mid December for a 6 night/7 day trek. The itinerary was tailor made so may not exactly be the one in the title but we were looking for something off the beaten track with few tourists but also a challenging 6 hour trek each day. Sabir our guide was fantastic as was Hussein our muleteer and cook.
Sabir was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and an excellent guide, and I can not recommend him highly enough. He looked after us really well and clearly knows and loves the mountains.
Hussein is a brilliant cook and made some truly delicious meals for us along the way - always something different and wholesome, we were never left hungry and always looked forward to our meals. Jacqueline his mule was a lovely animal to walk with as well and we grew very fond of her -:)
The route that Houssine (the CEO) picked worked really well and the walk was challenging enough for us and we trekked about 6 hours each day. The first four days were the best with not seeing any other tourist we had the mountains to ourselves. The gites were basic and mostly comfortable, and everyone made sure to look after us. Many of them had no hot water for showers but Sabir and Hussein always made sure we had hot water to wash with. We were lucky with the weather and had sunshine and blue skies every day. We also enjoyed the guesthouse in Ait Souka that we stayed in: very comfortable, and the food excellent.
Transfers - the outbound pick up from our riad was fine but the inbound not so good as the driver did not read the address correct and took us to the wrong riad back in Marrakesh - also in a car that probably was not fit for the road (broken window). Be sure to have the address for your Riad in Marrakesh to hand and always make sure the driver knows where it is!
All in all a great trip and I would highly recommend this company and travel with them again in Morocco.

We really enjoyed this trip. It gives you an interesting perspective on the daily life of the local berber people and the towns around Imlil. Ask for Ibrahim as a guide, he speaks 4 languages very well and is an experienced and friendly guide. He will show you all the lovely sides around.
