It was a nice Hike and oppertunity to visit the Atlasmountains. The landscape was amazing. One of the highlights of the hole Marokko Trip.
Our Guide was very nice and explained a lot about the area and culture.

But our first day was diffrent then expected. We did the program of the one day Trip and even less. We drove to Imlil, did a small walk for about 1h and after lunch they droped us to the guesthouse and then there was no more information. We spended the hole afternoon in the guesthouse without knowing what will happen next. After dinner around 9pm our Guide arrived to explain us about the next day.
      This was a bit annoying.

Our second and third days were fantastic with Hossain as our guide and Ousay (sp?) as our mule attendant / cook! Bring a small day pack for your rain gear / camera / drinking water, etc. You will not have access, on the trail, to your luggage on the sweet mule who goes at a different pace. Hossain made sure we had a chance to stop and buy the necessary large bottle of drinking water (which he then carried) and got me a rain jacket to rent (for 50 Dirham). Expect to be hiking on similar mountain trails to what you'd find in any mountains -- rocky narrow trails switch backing on steep mountainsides. The delicious vegetarian, for me, lunch on the pass was made by Ousay and Hossain with a gas stove and provisions that the mule carried. The "Gite" accommodations for the night were in a lovely mountain village. Foam mattresses on the floor in private room. Wool blanket to cover the mattress and one or two on top, no sheets. Group Turkish / squat toilet on the first floor and a sit-down toilet a bit out of the way and not easily accessible on the second floor. There was TP (but would not count on it) but they did not have soap nor hot water in shower. We asked for towels and they were able to provide a large cloth for us to share. Wonderful meals, accommodating staff -- great place to stay. Our last day was another great hike with a wonderful home cooked outdoor meal before our ride back to Marrakech. It is a bit annoying that lunches are not calculated into the price of the trip -- by the time you get to mealtime, you are hungry and in no position to decline food and no one announces you'll be charged later. We were told after the first lunch that our lunches would be 150 dirham each person each meal -- but later were told it should have been more like 75 dirham -- it didn't really matter because they didn't make us pay due to the problems of day 1.
We got off to a rocky start. The website says the only way to contact the company is via phone-- that is hard for some of us to do from another country. I tried to tell them via WhatsApp text where our Marrakech hotel was, but after an initial response they stopped reading and responding to my messages. Fortunately our hotel proprietor was able to call them the night before our trek and the pick up went smoothly. However the pick up for the second party did not go smoothly due to miscommunications and we were an hour late on the road. It was only then that we were informed we were on the day trip auto tour, not the 3 day mountain trek. We tagged along with this other lovely group of three with their excellent guide and we got deposited in our guest house after lunch to entertain ourselves. Big disappointment. We never got the chance to see the national park waterfall due to our modified route of 2 instead of 3 days. Our Guest house the first night had a private bathroom, no TP, no soap. Great meals, and great accommodations. Thank goodness Hossain came promptly the next morning to give us a wonderful 2 day trek!

We just came back from a three days trekking in the atlas Mountains under the guide of Mohmad Bowajamor. This was an awesome experience with spectacular views, visits to old berber Villages and surprisingly good food. Mohmad was a very attentive guide that took the time to answer our thousands questions and point out interesting or beatiful sights. I would definitely recommend the trip and Mohmad.

Compared to Morocco’s mass tourist attractions, high pressure souks and roadside camel rides, this experience is on another level entirely. Not only is the scenery very possibly the most spectacular on earth, the tourism industry in the High Atlas Berber villages is now developing in an extrodinary way.

What could have been exploitataive ethno-tourism is the exact opposite. This seems to be a product of a genuinely community based grass-roots movement with a shared vision; to bring much needed income to some of the poorest and most remote villages, and so build the schools, hospitals and roads they badly need. Because of this, the hospitality is utterly genuine and the desire for visitors in an chronically underdeveloped region very, very real.

If you want five star luxury, a la carte dining, a nice easy walk, tat stalls, guides that see you only as a paycheck or you can’t live without phone reception, look elsewhere. Please.

But if you want responsible tourism, and a uniquly positive experience discovering an extraordinary, anicient and welcoming culture on a self-help mission, this three day excursion into the stunning High Atlas mountain villages is the rarest of gems.

This 3 day trek was by far the best thing I’ve ever decided to do. My eyes couldn’t believe it, I loved it so much! It was hard work and 100% worth it. Getting to experience life in the mountains and seeing the natural and peaceful lives of Berber villages was very humbling, not to mention the super tasty food that was cooked for us each day. I’m very happy that I booked with this company, the guide was brilliant and so much fun! I already have the itch to go back!! Overall a really happy and fulfilling experience.

The climb to the summit of Mount Tawdja and the picnic near the top was the highlight. Mohamed Bowajamor was a very capable and helpful guide, brought me to all the best places

We booked the tour thinking that it would stick to the description...
On the first day we did not do what was on schedule and instead we were taken for a short walk around the valley.. We were told that the group left before since we were late, we were on time ready to depart in the morning.

On the second day, when we were supposed to start our walk we got stomach sick and after waiting for hours to start our trek we decided to give up and return to Marrakesh. They kindly arranged the taxi back to Marrakesh and we were told that somebody would call us the same day for a refund... Nobody contacted us and after sending a mail I have not received any response either or any refund.

We had a great time with Mohamed (Bowajamour) in the mountains! The trail was beautiful and not too exhausting. And the meals prepared by Jamal on our journey exceeded our expectations!
Thanks for everything and see you next time on the tour to the top :-)

We had a wonderful 3 days trekking with our excellent guide Issmail and cook Hassan. Both of them were professional throughout and very accommodating of our mixed ability group. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they both did everything they could to make sure that we all had a fantastic time, including allowing a choice of 2 routes for the different groups on our tour. The trekking is through beautiful scenery the routes are well-planned. It is challenging - we did about 35miles over the 3 days with steep inclines - but the views (and Hassan’s delicious freshly prepared tagine) at the top made it very rewarding.

As others have mentioned, the accommodation is basic (mattresses on the floor/squat toilets for our first night) and even at the beginning of April we were very cold at night so make sure to pack warm clothing, woolly socks/hats etc!

From an administration point of view - it was easy to get in touch with the tour operator via WhatsApp on the number on your voucher. The decision to charge separately for lunches (21€pp/3days) is strange, these are delicious but not optional and would be better included in the (otherwise excellent value) tour price. Also, this is not necessarily
an individual tour as stated on viator - we were a group of 2 and joined another group of 3 for our trip. As mentioned, Hassan was supremely accommodating of our slightly different plans for the trip and it was not an issue for us (we treasured the fun we had with our new American friends!) but the advertising of this as a private tour was not what we experienced.

Overall we would heartily recommend the trip - full of challenge, fun, laughter and new experiences - thank you once again Issmail and Hassan for a fantastic trip we will remember for years to come!

This was such a great trip- well worth every penny! Our guide Issmail Talalou made us feel very welcome from the start and we were very happy all the way through!

The trip started with a pickup from our riad and we were joined by another couple. We were able to text the driver the night before / morning. Communication was very easy.

After a 1.5 hour drive we were in the atlas moutains and started our three day trek. The views were absolutely incredible! Having lunch cooked for us in an open field surrounded by mountains was amazing after the hike up.

The terrain was challenging and amazing at the same time. We would recommend hiking shoes.

Our highlight was going to the remote Berber villages and learning about their way of life.

We felt very safe and welcome during our three day hike.

Such a beautiful and wonderful experience!

Amazing 3 Day Trek in Atlas Mountains - Soooo Happy!!
