- lyndar7960 contributionsMorocco Best Trip Ever with our Moroccan Friend ElghaliElghali found us at Chefchaouen at Dar Mounir, a feat in itself. So many ways to get lost. From the moment we met him, we knew we were going to have a great time. He is easy going, respectful, a great guide and driver. The two of us felt safe and well taken care of at all times. Elghali stopped at all points of interest and whenever we wanted a photo of a stork in its nest at the top of a mosque, or a goat eating leaves in an argan tree, or a donkey carrying bamboo on its back with the owner walking beside. At mealtime, Elghali would help us select meals by translating the menu into French or English. We tried ever tajine and Moroccan cuisine available. We travelled from Chefchaouen to Fes. Enroute, we hiked the path to the natural bridge at Akchour Falls and then visited Volubilis. Both were excellent. The dye vats at Fes, the mosaic workers and pottery designers were fascinating. The souks everywhere were colourful and busy, stimulating all your senses. Fresh meats hung in the open from rods, even camel. Wasps tasted the baklava. Cats ate the scraps that fell to the ground at the market and in the open restaurants. The Sahara Desert at sunset and sunrise near Merzouga was spectacular. The camel excursion to and from our 1st class tenting was a hoot. The route to Safi included stops at Rissani, Dades Gorge and Valley, the Todra river and gorge, Ouarzazate, Berber village and cave home, Ait Ben Haddou fortress etc. We really enjoyed just driving through the country side with Elghali, observing farmers plowing their fields with donkeys and sowing their crops by scattering the seeds with their hands. The abundance of vegetation, the deep gorges, streams and High Atlas Mountains surprised us. After seven days, our tour with Elghali ended at Safi on the Atlantic coast. Together we dined on seafood followed by the mandatory daily stop for ice cream at the local kiosk. After bigs hugs, we waved goodbye to our friend, Elghali. Fez Fancy Tours exceeded our expectations with their accommodation, meals, attractions, transportation, guide and driver. Elghali, a native Fes Moroccan, made our holiday the best ever. Al and Lynda Canada October 2023Written November 22, 2023

- jloakachina0 contributionsBest, safest, most fun Moroccan driver EVERElghali picked me and my friend up in chefchaouen to take us to fez and let me start by saying that not all drivers in Morocco are created equal. Elghali is THE BEST. He was punctual, even messaged us the day prior to confirm pick up time and location, he was accommodating, patient, a vigilant driver, and even let us connect to his car through Bluetooth to play our music. He ever had a cooler with water and soda for us! He was such a fun, kind person. There were a lot of top heavy hay trucks we had to pass that made me nervous but he was such a safe driver, I knew I was in good hands. He didn’t mind me asking him a bunch of questions and even pulled over at a scenic point to key us take photos of the desert. He was happy to take us to the Médina on the way to the airport so we could take photos on the famous Rainbow Street! The road was curvy in some parts but he was such a good driver that I didn’t even get car sick. By the end of the trip, we felt like we had made a new Moroccan friend. It’s rare for me to meet someone and trust them but within 5 minutes, you’ll know what I’m talking about. I would 100% hire him again. He was a gracious host, great driver and a kind human being. We still stay in touch over WhatsApp !Written October 17, 2019
- fireemblem10 contributions2 Day Trip - Fes - MarrakechI was looking for a great way to experience Africa and when we scored a good deal to Morocco, we knew we would have fun! That being said, we wanted to make sure we saw everything Morocco had to offer and started looking for a guide to show us the Morroco we knew we wouldn't find on our own. We have been all over so we didn't need help in the big two cities, Fes and Marrakech but everything in between seemed like a daunting task so we luckily stumbled upon Fancy Tours via our AIRBNB host in Fes. Elghali came and scooped us up in Fes and off we went! First we got acquainted and he said, "Whatever you need, let me know and I'll make it happen" and he wasn't lying. We stopped for a quick traditional breakfast and Elghali made sure we were treated fairly with portions and price. Then off we went to Mazougah to experience the Sahara. It was 6 hours but was spaced nicely with photo opportunities and breaks. We never went hungry or thirsty and we got to see some really cool local events too. A small market, a local purified water stop, and other things that I truly believe we only saw because of Elghali. We stopped for lunch at a local place that was reminiscent of road trips I've taken over the years in the states. Eventually the trip started to fade into the mountains and conversations until we arrived at the "Gateway to the desert". Camels, mountains, and that orange-ish glimmering same awaited. Elghali handed us off to our Berber guides and we rode into the desert for a night in the Sahara. It was all planned for us and went smoothly. It was maybe a 6 mile camel ride into the desert where we ended up at a bivouac, tent, campsite. There were many other adventure seekers and we settled in for dinner and traditional music. It was a great event and I can't stop talking about it! We woke up the next morning, mounted the camels, and watched a desert sunrise! An hour later we met back with Elghali for breakfast and we headed to Ouarzazate, where they filmed some of Game of Thrones!! We were treated to a nice hotel and a delicious local dinner! The next morning we woke up, had breakfast and headed to Marrakech. On the way we enjoyed more sightseeing and conversation until we finally reached our destination. It was a 2-day journey that didn't feel near that long! All I can say is, whether it's your first, second, or hundredth time, if you want a comprehensive tour, I highly recommend Fancy Tours - Morocco. It was nice that we had a company that knows the country, culture, roads, and customer service! Sean, from South CarolinaWritten September 18, 2019

- Maskhan010 contributionsAn overall fantastic experience !!Look no further for a fantastic tour guide! Having traveled to Fes and Chefchaoun as part of our honeymoon we decided to use Fancy Tours, we were not disappointed!! Our guide and driver Elghali had such an extensive knowledge of the cities let alone the country. Elgahli would make frequent stops for us to take photos of the breathtaking scenery alongside educating us on the history of this beautiful country. Elghalis well spoken English and French made communicating so much more easier and all the time we felt completely safe in his hands We cannot thank Elghali enough, look no further for an honest, reliable, easygoing and great tour guide when exploring Morocco!Written June 20, 2019
- A_dri_1_rx0 contributions2 days desert from Fez : Beautiful trip2 days trip with the efficient driver Abdoul. The road is a little bit long from Fez but the sights seeing are beautiful. Seems to be in California when going through Vallée of ziz. Very nice welcome in the desert. This is the place to go to see the sun dunes with beautiful colours at the sunset and at the sun rise if the want to stand-up before.Written April 9, 2019
- LisaBlommendaall0 contributionsNice day trip through the Middle AtlasWe drove through the Middle Atlas in one day with Elghali. He is a very nice guy who knows a lot about the places you visit. Also a very good and relaxed driver! We went to a Berber village and visited a local woman in her home were we drank some mint tea. After that we drove higher up in the mountains. We stopped a couple of times to take in the beautiful views of the green slopes. Did not expect to see views like this at all! We also went to a cedar forest with lots of fresh air and lots of monkeys! At last, we had a good lunch in a local restaurant in Azrou. It was a long but beautiful trip! Would definitely recommend it!Written March 29, 2019

- laurenbU92UW0 contributionsFantastic trip to Volubilis and Moulay Idriss!Elghali drove us to Volubilis (fantastic!!!) and then for lunch in Moulay Idriss. The restaurant he arranged was so wonderful, we had a delicious meal there. We drove back to Fes via Meknes where he drove us by a few sites. Our kids were getting tired in the afternoon and he was very accommodating and modified the tour brilliantly. Super-friendly, great vehicle and an all around lovely guy. We had a great day with you - thank you!Written March 23, 2019

We went on the tour with the FancyTours-Morocco tour operators. Our driver was Elghali and he was friendly and very conscientious of our welfare.
We had an early start and Elghali stopped for coffee/breakfast and made sure we were fine. We made stops at view points to take photographs of the beautiful landscape. Elghali was extremely kind and gave us many bottles of water.
The country side was green and boasted large Olive Groves, Grape Vineyards, Peach and Apple Orchards.
We spent 3 hours in Chefchaouen before our trip back. It’s an interesting and picturesque city because of the colour theme. The Medina with the blue colour theme can take a few hours to explore and the shopping is oriented towards tourists. The Public washrooms (WC) at the main square are spotlessly clean. For lunch we had many restaurant choices and these were also situated around the main square.
It is a long drive of about 3.5 hours from Fez. We were pretty quiet, listened to Moroccan music and then dozed most of the trip back. Drive from Tangier is around 2 hours and might be a better option if you are visiting Tangier.

My first trip to Morocco with family and as you are visiting new places you naturally a bit nervous to figure out which option is best and safest for you and your loved ones where they can enjoy the vacations well spent. We planned to visit Casablanca, Meknes, Fes and Marrakech with in the span of 7 days trip.
There are multiple options to choose from flights not economical, trains a bit nervous to choose with kids get more luggage lastly drive there. Now it come to rent a car Or hire someone who not only knows stuff around well but also you feel safe with while traveling so I choose the later one.
I find Fancy Tours for my trip from Casablanca to Meknes and Fes and end up meeting ElGhali. He is punctual, friendly, humble and honest person and safe driver. Trust me driving in the cities in Morocco is quite challenging.
We had good conversation lot of questions to ask with ElGhali on our trip as we are curious on history and our next destinations. He is very polite person and answer them without irritation even kids like to talk to him as well due to his friendly nature.
He showed us key historic monuments, Medina in Meknes and Fes which we thought we won’t be able to see in 2 day time period. He is very patient with stop over suggests good food on asking and help us out with some conversations on the shop keepers as well.
I discussed with him the plan for visiting Chefchaoun the next day. He had other commitment but he ensured to get us hook up with another great person Ali from the same company who spent all day with us driving to and back to Fes and also very punctual, respectful and polite person.
From Fes to Marrakech we had opportunity again to drive with ElGhali and he help us to get someone in touch for our trip around such as visiting the historic monuments, Atlas mountain and Ozzad falls.
Our trip to Morocco is memorable thanks to the guidance from ElGhali whether it’s traveling with in the city or between the cities. If you are visiting Morocco - Remember Fancy Tours - ElGhali
