Chefchaouen, or Chaouen, is a city in the Rif Mountains of northwest Morocco. It’s known for the striking, blue-washed buildings of its old town. Leather and weaving workshops line its steep cobbled lanes. In the shady main square of Place Outa el Hammam is the red-walled Kasbah, a 15th-century fortress and dungeon, and Chefchouen Ethnographic Museum. The octagonal minaret of the Great Mosque rises nearby.

4-Day tour from Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga
We did a 4-day tour from Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga and we liked it a lot. On our first day, Hassan safely took us from Fes to Merzouga. Even though it was a long ride, it wasn’t too bad because we had several stops and Hassan told us interesting facts about the region and Morocco in general. Upon arrival, we rode camels to arrive at the desert camp. We loved it there and decided to stay for another night, instead of changing to a hotel, as was initially planned in our itinerary (I can only recommend not being anal about the exact itinerary being followed because changing around is possible and it can improve your experience. Going with the flow just really seemed to pay off for us). The tents were huge and clean (we got upgraded to a deluxe tent) and the guys who run the camp were really great. After two nights in the desert we continued with another group led by the driver Younis and the tour guide Ouma, who both were fantastic. They took us to Marrakech with one night in Ouarzazate and several stops in interesting places, where we got little tours. Everything was always on time and really organised - we were in such good hands. Ouma knows a lot and answered any and all questions we had. All in all, we definitely recommend doing this. We had lovely groups and amazing drivers and guides - Thank you Hassan, Younis and Ouma!!

Amazing tour with an amazing driver
Fes 23/09/2024 - Marrakech 25/09/2024 Everything in the tour was perfectly organised (timing, accommodation, itinerary), from the pick up in Fes to the (sad) drop off in Marrakech. I had the opportunity of knowing aspects of Morocco that are very different from the classical 'medina-kasbah package', my personal highlights being Tinghīr oasis, of course Erg Chebbi desert, Rissani old market and village, Todra Gorges (and all Atlas mountains), Hait Ben Haddou. But the real 'plus' to the tour was our AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING driver, MOHA(mmed)...extremely professional, safe, careful, very knowledgeable, always ready to go far and beyond to make everyone confortable and feel part of the 'strange family' we have been for three days...above all, a very genuine, always smiling and fun guy, the perfect companion you'd wish to meet on such a long tour. Thank you, Morocco, Moha and everyone in the BeryBery group!!!

Must do Meknes and Volubilis trip!
We were able to book a trip for a party of 10 just a day before and the team was highly accommodating of last minute changes. The mini van was very comfortable and our guide Driss and driver Ali were extremely pleasant and friendly. We highly recommend doing the day trip to Volubilis and Meknes with the local guides. Thanks to the entire team of 3T travel since we were traveling with 2 kids and senior citizens.

          Great tour!
Everything was great! They picked us up at our desired location and the tour was great! We had a private local guide which took us 45 min and later we had 3 hours to ourself to explore the beautiful Chefchaouen. Our guide Oumaima was great also, she made sure everyone was taken care of and at the end she made sure we were droped off at our desired location. I would totaly recomend this tour to anyone!

A lovely day out of the hustle and bustle
We had a great experience on this trip. The company was quick to reply over WhatsApp and even picked us up from our requested location which was not on their usual list! Our guide souka had a great fun and friendly personality and answered all our questions as well as being quick to offer information of her own, and driver idris did a great job navigating the roads and traffic. Overall a great day out to escape the sometimes overwhelming bustle of the city!

You don't know how to spend your time? You need to go to Meknes - Volubilis - Moulay Idriss.
The trip was just wonderful, easy, fun, relaxed. Interesting cities, immersion in another civilization (Roman Empire), in another culture: Meknes - Volubilis - Moulay Idriss. It was interesting, informative and very, very fun. Thanks to Mohammed and the whole company with whom we spent this wonderful day.

          No Go
A date of time and money. We requested a Spanish speaking driver and, yes, he was Spanish speaking. That's the end of the good. First stop: a man made cave with Christmas lights in a Berber village where a long man tried got convince us that his 96 year old grandmother made all the rugs, clothing, scarves, tin cups et.al. that he tried to sell us -- voila, he even had a picture to share on his cellphone! -- and when we showed no interest in buying, he charged us $10 for the tea he had served. No interaction with the Berber villagers. Then to a town, dropped off for an hour, to take pictures of a lion carved into stone while driver had a coffee and cigarette. Then to a fish hatchery -- just like that which is five minutes from my home. Then to lunch in an outdoor cafe in a Berber town -- with everyone smoking, and nowhere for us to escape -- and no interaction with the Berbers. Then to a park, many Berber families picnicking -- no interaction with the Berbers. Yes, some beautiful views along the way, otherwise a waste. We did another Middle Atlas Mountain activity, twas the best day of our Morocco trip. This one wasn't.

          Fun tour and comfortable ride
Mohamed our driver was so friendly and funny, he shared a lot about Moroccan culture and his personal stories 🤣. Volubilis was very beautiful as well. Our meknes guide Rashid was very informative as well. Just a heads up, they will bring you to affiliate shops for lunch and in the medina but you can always not buy anything. Thank you lads!

Very nice guide-driver and local guides
We were a small group of students. Our driver Mohamed was very nice and accommodating. Felt very safe and engaged throughout the trip. Managed to even ask him for Moroccan movie’s recommendation 😂 and he said he looked like Hdidan HAHAHA. Very nice man! Our local guides were amazing too. Very knowledgeable and dedicated. Rachid from Meknes was very informative and answered all our questions. Our local guide in Volubilis was a polyglot and knowledgeable man who was very friendly and outgoing. Be prepared for lot of walking but it is worth it!! Highly recommend :)

Great driving service and 1 hr tour of Chefchaoen
I was able to communicate with the driver on WhatsApp the day before my tour to confirm the location for pick up. I went in the van with about a dozen tourists to Chefchaoen. Upon arrival, we met a tour guide and he gave us an hour tour of the medina blue area to shop and take pictures. After the hour tour, I was whisked away to meet my driver to Tangier, who I rode alone with. The rest of the dozen tourists apparently were staying in Chefchaoen for another 3 hours and then driving back to Fez. My driver was able to pull over for me to eat at a small market town on our way to Tangier. He dropped me closest to my hotel and found a local to help take my luggage to the hotel through the streets.

          Fes Walking Tour
Mohammed came to my hotel and it immediately became clear that he knew a great deal about the city and its history. We spent most of the tour learning about the history and meeting people from various trades. It was relaxed and very enjoyable.

So my friend and I went on this tour and the tour guide in Chefchaouen completely screwed us over. After he finished his tour, we were about to get lunch at a restaurant. He mentioned to us that this is explicitly not a good restaurant and that he will take us to a local one with good prices and really nice food. Since we had some very nice chats with him on our Tour, we genuinely thought, he was being nice to us. Well wrong. Naive to assume so. He took us to the Restaurant Riad Hicham, which didn't have any prices on the menu. We asked him how much it was for the menu and he said 120 MAD (starter, main, desert). We only had a main dish which he said was going to be between 70-80MAD. When the bill came it said 130 MAD each only for the main dish and the price for the tour guide was not even included. Of course he didn't have to pay anything. We were stupid enough to just suck it up and pay without making a massive scene since we only had one more hour of free time in Chefchaouen. After the tour finished I tried to speak to the people from Morocco Trek Safari. They said they are very sorry, but they cannot do anything about it. They said they are changing the tour guide all the time because of that issue. Ehm excuse me?! You are aware of the issue but don't warn your customers and don't own up to any responsibility although you are the ones who book the guide?! All they did was apologize and keep saying they cannot do anything. Not a nice experience.

I strongly recommend this trip, especially with very friendly and smiling tour guide Soukaina and funny driver 😁 I spent a beautiful day with tine in Chefchaouen. They showed us the most important places, took pictures and recommended delicious food in restaurants in the Blue City and on the way.

Best regards to the young Soukaina - my first female tour guide in Morocco! :D I keep my fingers crossed for your future tourism career 😁

Although the journey time is long, this tour is totally worth it. Chefchaouen has to be seen. We were tight for time and all we could do was a day trip And this tour was just the thing. You are taken right into the blue heart of Chefchaouen with a couple of toilet/coffee breaks in each direction. The city is magical and despite the journey being long, around (4 hours each way) which I knew in advance and cannot hols anyone but myself accountable for it, the staff were really friendly and so helpful. Especially Soukaina, who looked genuinely happy to be with us and was ready to answer any questions. If you are strapped for time, this is the day trip for you.

This tour was so wonderful! It's a 3.5 hour drive each direction, but it is so worth it! The city is every bit as beautiful as the photos make it our to be. My tour guide Soukaina was so friendly and helpful along the whole way! When you arrive a local guide meets you and tells you some history of the city and shows you all the best places to take pictures. I would definitely book this tour again!

My husband and I were in Fes for a short amount of time and wanted to see Chefchaouen so we booked this small group tour. Upon arrival we quickly realized that no other guests would be joining us and so our small group tour turned into a private tour at no additional cost! Our driver, Hamza was truly the best! Since it was our last full day in Morocco we needed to take a COVID-19 PCR test before leaving the country and Hamza took the extra time and steps to bring us to a clinic and photo copy place to get the necessary documents and tests in order. Afterwards he took us on our tour to Chefchaouen and even made a stop along the way for us to use the restroom and eat lunch at a very nice hotel since we started the tour later than planned. Exploring Chefchaouen on our own was so fun and when we were done Hamza was ready to take us back to our hotel and dropped us off at the door. He was so friendly and helpful we’re so grateful we booked through this company and had him as our driver. I cannot recommend this tour enough!! We really had the best experience!

After finishing a 3 day desert tour via half air conditioned minibus, this day trip was a great breath of air. Someone comes and picks you up at your riad to bring you to the meeting spot where everyone gets on a large coach bus with comfy seats and A/C. Our guide Souka was the BEST! She was just extremely informative from the start to the beginning - including the itinerary for the day like where we will stop on the way and for how long, and she gave a quick overview of the blue city. We got about 4 hours to explore the city which was plenty, I was ready to go back. Souka was at our meeting spot making sure everyone was making it back.

The drive back felt looooong but we had a good stop for snacks but not dinner. I recommend bringing snacks of your own as well.

FYI for any travelers who are curious, you can actually hitch a ride with this bus one way and not ride back. It’s great if you’re on your way to Tangier, but you may have to carry your luggage throughout the blue city, depending on the time of your hotel check-in or your next bus.

In february we went for a trip to Chefchaouen with 4 friends. In the morning we were picked up from the hotel en we were brought to our bus. Here we met with our sweet and friendly tour guide Soukaina. The bus trip to Chefchaouen was long but very beautiful. The natural scenery didn’t stop. We stopped a few times too to stretch our legs and take pictures of the views. When we arrived to Chefchaouen we got enough time to explore the city and find the finest spots to take the best pictures. They took us on a fast tour around the city with some history lessons. We learned a lot from it and it was very interesting. After that our tour guide helped us find some places to eat too. We really enjoyed this day as it was well planned out. The bus driver and tour guide were very friendly with us and we made some bonds we will never forget! It was a very special and nice trip to a beautiful city. Totally worth the long drive! 👍🏻

This was a very convenient tour! Initially, I was slightly worried by how long the bus ride was supposed to be, but I actually was surprised by how quickly it went by. We stopped twice for breaks and had ample time to take it easy during those breaks. Souka was very informative and helped answer all of our burning questions ahead of the visit.

The visit itself was very open. Some people decided to go off on their own, while there was another option to do a quick guided tour of the middle of the city. I thought the guided tour was well worth it and the guide has some great suggestions on places to eat, shop and/or trek in the remainder of the time we had thereafter. I personally went to see the waterfall and the Spanish church, which I thought was worth the walk.

The drive back felt quicker, though that might have been because everyone was a bit burned out after the long day. We got back to Fes at a reasonable time though, so I'd say it was well worth it.

A friend and I went on this tour and we had a great time. The drive was comfortable, we had good wifi and even stopped for coffee. Our guide Nadia was super friendly and spoke many languages which made it very easy to communicate! It was also very easy to communicate with the company because they were very responsive. Chefchaouen is such a beautiful city worth seeing.
