About the operator
- Paul H00Hassan + Itinerary = MemoriesThe itinerary was diverse and interesting, the camel trek in the dunes at sunset memorable, the performance that night extraordinary, the walk through the dunes for sunrise the next day spectacular, and the camel trek to the cars a nice capstone for an overnight glamping stay... and that's just the tip of the iceberg for this excellent experience. We lucked out with a van with six more interesting and friendly folks from all over the world, but the trip wouldn't have been the same without our driver and guide, Hassan. Calm, informative, responsive and professional; he went above and beyond to make certain we enjoyed ourselves, and we did. There's a ton more in the itinerary, and it was all great. I highly recommend this tour and this outfitter, and if you get Hassan for your trip, count yourself fortunate.
- 芽生 松00AvoidThe only good thing out of this trip was that I met amazing nice people among the other participants. However, that’s not thanks to the tour. Our tour was super messy: - bus name was “Africa amazing tour”, not “fez desert tour” - bad time management (we missed the sunset for the camel rides, the lunch break was way too long because it was probably not even reserved, the “alternate route” the guide decided to take made use sit in the bus for nearly 12 hours, etc) - no announcement of the itinerary - (honestly) unimpressive stops - sales disguised as “cultural tour” - unhelpful guide (he disappeared suddenly and frequently, chatting in the car with the driver was way too loud, not much “guiding” done in English, not enough explanation and just “it’s ok!” all the time, etc) Although this is uncontrollable on the tour’s end, it was cloudy and rained for most of the tour and it was way less enjoyable than expected. We tried to stay positive, but it would’ve been better if the tour had an alternative for when the weather isn’t ideal. Although the price was reasonable, and the company was responsive on WhatsApp, I would not recommend this company. Especially not Mustafa as the guide.
- Charlie C00Amazing experienceIt was a mind blowing experience going to the Sahara for the first time with this company. The camping in the desert was very comfortable and way above my expectations in terms of luxuriousness. The food that was provided was also very delicious. Hashi was an excellent guide who was also fluent in many languages, and we were able to speak Spanish together in addition to English.
- EkaGJ0800Amazing trip to the Sahara desertOur Guide tour Hachem was amazing, he show us a lot of places during the way to the desert, mokeys, amazing food, an incredible oasis, among others. But the best of all was the incredible kindness and hospitality that he offered to us. Spent time in the desert was an amazing experience that no one must skip. I completely recommend this tour. At night we sleep in a beautiful tent, everyone there was super kindly, thwy invite us to a party where they play traditional music. Hachem give us traditional clothes and turbans. In summary... This is an experience that you should try.
- Kyley W00Amazing experience!I have no bad words to say. The experience was amazing. I would recommend it to all. I'm thoroughly pleased. I have a trip planned in October, we'll definitely be booking this trip hopefully with the same driver as he was brilliant. His English was superb. Such a hospitable guy. Catered to our every need.
- socaltraveler46500Bad Experience. Wouldn't do it again. The heater in the van was completely broken. As we spent hours driving in the snowing Atlas mountains my body parts literally went numb. The driver dropped me off miles from my Riad and told me it was around the corner. Had to then take a taxi there with heavy luggage. Driver drove like a dare devil. Tried to pass people on the road, often while talking to his friends on the phone. He was extremely cavalier about the guests safety. There were several close calls. He Beeped approximately 100 times. Drivers English was bad. We understood about 20% of what he said. The route was nice, although long, even with the forced stops at the rug dealership, argan oil dealers, rose water dealers, etc. If you get a working car and a sane driver this rating would rise a star or two.
- Miguel_mento00Amazing journeyMy wife & I had an amazing 3-Day Desert tour from Fes to Marrakech, The tour was a great experience. the best in this trip were the camels on this trip were a lot more comfortable and were in better condition. We were able to get fantastic photos and the scenery was great. The sunset was timed well ....
- pvktravels00Packed tour with great driver AbderWe had a very good tour which was packed with long, but mostly scenic car rides, beautiful stops, nice acitivities, and a great driver Abder. The long hours in the cars pay off when seeing the desert as well as the pretty countrysides and berber villages. Our lovely Abder was very polite and friendly, speaks good English, was service-oriented and drove very well all in all, only sometimes a little fast. Our small five people group could jointly decide where to stop and what to skip. Sometimes a bit more information on the schedule would have been nice. E.g. on the desert trip, where we first changed the car to a 4WD to drive to the camels, then rode on the camels to see the sunset and afterwards rode to the camp where we stayed for the night. We had tea and dinner and listened to some music from our hosts. The tents were big with an own restroom incl. shower. Just be aware that you are in nature and will hear and see bugs also in your tent. In the morning camels took us back to the 4WD to leave the desert. The hotel in Ouarzazate was fine also, with a swimming pool and okay dinner, which they also served late at night for us as we were stuck on a road during the day. We would recommend the trip, especially with Abder as your driver.
- hotmailrb00Fes to Marrakech desert tourOne of the best tours we have ever done!!! Our driver/tour guide Abdul’s knowledge and customer focus made the trip a real pleasure. The tour involves a lot of time driving so be prepared to spend a lot of time on the road but the amazing and varied Moroccan scenery make this sacrifice a small price to pay.
- Mahmuda201600Terrible tourBy all means don't take this tour guide. This is a total rip off. They promised something and deliver totally opposite. We paid for luxury tour and stay. Dessert cabin area is completely Under maintained. I can say it is no class at all. Rip off. The people serving there does not know how to maintain respectable and highly paid tourists. Food is third class rate. No entertainment at all. It is huge cheat on tourist from USA and Australia . I strongly don't recommended anyone to take this tour company. They are cheat, rude and classless. Took luxury tour money and delivered poor terrible experience. Please please don't choose this tour company.
- Nicole S00Beautiful time in the DesertMy boyfriend and I went on a two days desert trip to Mergouza - Hassan was our driver, very helpful and nice, he told us a lot about the history and the landscape. The highlight is definitely the camel ride at sunset, we were escorted by a very fun Berber guy called Hassan (different Hassan) who made us laugh a lot! On our way back Hassan the driver kindly stopped in a Tuareg bazaar where we haggled for rugs and that was a great experience too! I highly recommend the tour.
- KFrench_1300Excellent tour - highly recommended! We took a two night / three day private guided tour with Hassan (with Fes Deaert tours) from Fes to Erg Chebbi. We did a camel trek and overnight stay in a modernized Berber tent. Then we drove through High Atlas Mountains, to Ait Ben Haddu, staying overnight in Ourzourzate, and the third day we drove through the Dades Gorge to Marrakech. It was fantastic. Hassan was a wonderful guide - very informative and knowledgeable, spoke excellent English, and a trustworthy driver. He taught us about Moroccan history, religion, climate, food, plants, family life... We cannot day enough good things about this tour. Note: If you are planning to go to both Fes and Marrakech, I recomend using this tour as a way to travel between cities. If you are only staying in Fes, consider doing a two night trip anyway to take your time. Otherwise you may feel the whole time is spent in a car.
- Xue F00Amazing experienceI booked a 3 days 2 nights tour from Marrakech to Chefchaouen. We are a group of 3 friends. We have had the most amazing time all thank to our driver Hassan. He is an interesting young man with a great sense of humor. He went above and beyond to make sure we have a good experience. He is a responsible driver and we felt very safe during the whole trip. The overnight stay in the desert camp was the highlight of our trip. The desert camp was way above our expectations. All the facilities are new, we had one of our best meals there, the night of dancing and singing around the bonfire makes you appreciate all the simple things in life. If you are from a major city like us, you will see the most breathtaking night sky in your life. I would recommend this trip to anyone. PS, if you enjoy your dinner with a glass of vino, make sure to bring a bottle or two with you to the camp. Imagine sipping vino under a million stars, it will be the moment that you will remember for the rest of your life. It is cold in the desert at night, bring a winter jacket. I am from Canada and it was cold for me.
- joehQ8580SM00Awesome!We booked this 3- day 2 night Desert trip Fez to Marrakech. We were pleasantly surprised that our family of four were the only ones on the tour. Hassan was our driver/guide and he was awesome. He always had our back and had great conversations. Be prepared for a lot of driving...good news the country side was beautiful. Only complaint was dinner in the dessert was sparse, half a chicken for 6 people.
- Wanderer0507891136400The best of MarocoIt was really perfect two days on desert 🐪 Hassan was perfect as well, berber’s food had unforgettable taste, next time definitely I’m going again 😉.

We had an amazing dessert tour experience with our driver Mustafa, he showed us along the 8 hour drive we had through special places and he had a lot of interesting stories to tell. When we arrived at the desert it was a real warm welcome. We saw the sunset and slept very well in our own very nice tent. The food was delicious and the people were very lovely. An experience we will never forget !

Amazing trip! The drive is extremely long, but weirdly doesn’t feel too long as you have a number of stops along the way. Our driver out was quiet the whole way, but on the way back our new driver gave us so many interesting facts and insight as we went. Camel riding - ouch! But definitely one worth ticking off the bucket list. Great dinner in the evening too!

This experience is one I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Mohammed drove us from Fes to Merzouga and was a great guide pointing out different landmarks along the way. Once we got to the dessert, it was more than we could have asked for! An amazing camel ride and scenic views, we even got to sand surf in the Sahara. The overnight experience was so amazing too - we had so much space and shower which I didn’t expect! This trip was one of the best experiences of my life and I definitely think anyone visiting needs to try this as well. The only thing that I didn’t enjoy as much was that the stops from and to Fes were very geared to having us buy souvenirs from different locations but if you are a person looking for those kind of gifts it’s a convenient part of the program.

The staff were great and this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but this isn't luxe, by any means. Beware: 1) The food prep areas in both the restaurants we stopped in while traveling to the desert and back, and the one at the camp, had many flies. Even though we stuck to bottled water, all 3 in our group ended up with GI bugs for 48+ hours after, so only eat thoroughly cooked or pre-packed food. 2) Bring your own pillowcase and full PJs, at a minimum (or sheets) as the bedding isn't washed daily. As long as you're willing to rough it, the experience was well worth it and the photos are terrific.

Participating in this trip was one of the best decisions we could have ever made!
Hassan, our driver was very kind and helpful, we learned a lot about the everyday life in Morocco from him. The drive is long from Fez to the desert, but he made it enjoyable, and we also stopped here and there for breakfast, lunch and taking some photos.
The camel ride and being in the desert itself was an amazing experience! The dunes are indescribably beautiful, you have got to see them! Dinner in the camp was very delicious, and the hosts were nice people as well. Watching the sky and the stars at night next to the camp fire was amazing, the sky is so clear, you can spot shooting start and even planet Mars! The night was very cold, so take warm clothes with you, even winter jacket!
Sunrise was spectacular the next morning, don't miss that! Breakfast in the hotel was very nice, and it was so good to take a warm shower there after a cold night.
The ride was the same back, except that we stopped in a town close to the desert, where there was a local market. It's very authentic and good to see how people live their daily lifes. This market takes place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, so organize your trip accordingly, if you want to catch this too!
Overall, a great experience, worth every penny for sure!

2 long days but worth every minute. Our guide Mustafa was so friendly and informative, we couldn't have asked for a better person to show us Morocco. The monkeys, the mountains and the amazing desert makes this trip worth every penny.

The trip was pretty good, everybody is kind and so on. But what was the best is our driver - Abdul Magid. He is very kind and talented and has lots of infos. He is a wikipedia of Morocco. He makes exciting your 8 hours in the van. You just need to ask and he knows. You are gonna be lucky if he is going to be your driver. Thanks again Abdul Magid!!! 👌🏽👌🏽

Although the drive was quite long, we were prepare for it and enjoyed the landscape for the 8 hours it took to get to the desert. Our driver was very kind, spoke very good English and knew a lot about the area.
The staff at the camp was amazing, the camel ride was fantastic despite the rainy and cloudy weather.
The accommodation (the tents) completely exceeded our expectations, there were showers and a toilet with big beds and blankets.
The food was good at the camp.
The food we got on the way there and back wasn't good and caused us an upset stomach for 2 days.
I would absolutely recommend the tour!!

So I am torn on my review. If I could just rate the desert, it would be so much higher, but the driving portion would be lower.
Let's start with the good:
The desert is wonderful. It happened to be cloudy when we went so no stars and even a little rain. But who cares! That first ride on the camels, the sand, it was magical! The food was very good. The campfire drums were fun. Yes, that part was a once in a lifetime experience.
Now the bad: One reviewer mentioned a 7 hour drive each way. For us, it was approximately 9 hours each way. 18 hours total. When you think about the fact that part of your time in the desert you are sleeping, you spend more time in the car than on the desert trip. Fine. But the drive just wasn't great. Our driver wasn't incredibly friendly and some of the stops were not so interesting (little Switzerland, the souk on the way home). The biggest problems for me were 1. The driver was texting while driving several times. 2. At the end of the tour on the second day the driver told us we will learn about Berber handi-crafts when actually, they are really trying to sell us carpets for 6,000 dir. Something, we weren't interested in and it felt awkward and pressured to buy. 3. The driver did not drop us off nor show us how to get to the Riad we were staying at. Instead he passed us off to a man on the street who we had to pay to take us to the Riad. 4. We had to ask to eat on the way home at around 2:00. Keep in mind that we ate a small breakfast at 7.
We may have just gotten a grumpy driver or he was having a bad day but it definitely changed our experience.

Dear ,
Thank you for taking the time to write your Feedback about the Trip , we are happy to hear that you enjoyed the Interesting part of the Trip ;the Overnight in the Desert Camp .
To clarified a couple of thing you Mentioned on the Review ;
The Drive is 7 Hours + the time of the stops and time for Lunch ,we don’t drive street we make several stops ( The info of 7 Hours drive you get it from another Reviewer not from our Team ,we Normally clarified ).
About the no Interesting places or stops , You Had the Itinerary & you were the only ones in the Car ,So you could skip the stops you are not Interested to …
For the Lunch there is Few Villages where you can find a good places they offer Fresh and good Food ,That’s not Available Everywhere you Especially Most of the Drive is out side cities & you took the same Road twice ,but the driver should organise that with you in advanced .
Now we come to the Most Important Part the DRIVE ,a lot of Travellers they noticed when they Contact us to Book one of our Tours that we offered a limit Period to confirm the tour and we don’t Leave it open to Book any time Cause of the Limit Number of our Professional drivers/guides we have ,sometimes Travellers they complain when we used someone out of our Team ,like what’s Happen now ,Cause they didn’t Get the Full Services they Expected and we are used to Offer .
Cause of Health Problem we had to change the Driver were planned to join you for the Trip ,we choosed a Colleague who Had a Good Reviews on Trip Advisor too and that’s were the reason Behind choosing him .
For the Drop off ,the Driver pick you up from a Hotel and in the way back you changed hotel to a Riad inside the Medina a place he didn’t know and not possible to get there by the Car ,He called us we provide him the location ,when he arrived to the closest parking Two Minutes from your Riad he arranged someone to carry your Luggage and show you the pay and He Missed to pay 2 euros to Him ,I think it’s not a Big Deal.
I hope this wouldn't give you the wrong idea about our services.
From the bottom of my heart, on behalf of the team,I sincerely apologize on this Experience .
I really appreciate on your feedback, and I hope you won't hesitate to use our services again in the future..
Warm Regards
Mhamed

I did two day/one night desert tour to Merzouga. It was a long ride from Fes but frequent stops along Atlas Mountain and other desert stops to the final hotel in merzouga made the trip manageable. Once at the hotel, we did one and half hour sunset camel ride to a beduin camp in the middle of the desert. Definitely thrilling and memorable. Berber folks made us really nice dinner and provided entertainment with drums and dancing under the clear desert night sky. My only complaint was lack of drinking water at the camp.

Caroline

If we want to book this trip with our two kids - ages 3 and 5 - are there carseats available for the long drive two and from? Would you recommend warm clothing for a late October overnight? Overall, are there any concerns for doing this tour with children?

Hi I would like to ask if there is availability on the 2-day (1 night) desert tour for two adults on the 1st of September? I would have booked on the website but I wanted to make sure we could get from Fez to Marrakech as we have arranged accommodation for these times. Thank you! Samantha
