- 999haln0 contributionsAmazing trip into the Sahara Desert dunesCaravane Du Grand Erg and Morocco Private Tours do an excellent job providing unique, customized experiences. They will help you really see astonishing scenery, while introducing you to the local people, customs, and art. They provided me with a very multi-dimensional experience at a very good price! I was interested in the local culture, so they customized several tours to visit local kasbahs (ancient communities), while connecting me to local artists. The desert trip was mind-blowing. The Sahara Desert is a magical place just before sunset and after sunrise. The stars at night are indescribable. I was able to do a solo camel trek to amazing dunes, and stay overnight in the desert. I highly recommend taking their tours. I felt very safe and cared-for!Written April 19, 2024
- solangeolbertz0 contributionsMore than a tour an experienceVisiting Morocco with caravane du grand erg was a unique experience, where we found impressive landscapes, historic cities and the most kindest people I have never met. As we travelled with my mother and my daughter, finding a tour that was meaningful for the three generations that we were was a challenge and this tour achieved itWritten April 8, 2024
- Rezitrip70 contributionsUnforgettable Moroccan Adventure with Caravane Du Grand ErgOur journey with Caravane Du Grand Erg, led by the exceptional guide Younes, was an unforgettable odyssey through Morocco's treasures. With meticulous planning and a keen eye for hidden gems, Younes ensured every moment was extraordinary. From the majestic landscapes of Ouarzazate to the iconic beauty of Ait Ben Haddou and the breathtaking vistas of the Atlas Mountains, Younes led us to the best of Morocco. The highlight was undoubtedly Erg Chigaga, where under the most beautiful desert sky, we experienced the warmth and wonder of the desert at the finest camp. In Taroudant, our stay at Dar Tourkia was nothing short of amazing, providing the perfect blend of comfort and charm. But beyond the destinations, it was Younes's deep knowledge of the region that truly enriched our experience, offering insights into Moroccan culture and history that will stay with us forever. Younes wasn't just a guide; he was a delightful companion, ensuring our comfort and enjoyment at every turn. Choosing Caravane Du Grand Erg with Younes as our guide was indeed an investment in an authentic and enriching Moroccan adventure that we'll cherish for a lifetime.Written March 18, 2024
- Ramon F0 contributionsVisiting the stars in the DesertA most enjoyable holiday. Younes allowed us to tailor the tour to our needs and Mohamed was the best driver we could have. We even changed plans on the go. I’d do it again!Written March 17, 2024
- rhodris8240 contributionsA fantastic experience all roundCan not speak highly enough of my experience with Younes and the team. As a solo traveller I was nervous to book a private tour for such a long trip to Chigaga, but from day one I was made so comfortable by my driver Abdel, a local Berber with expansive knowledge of the whole route, and a very skilled driver in the sand. The hospitality at the hotel in Zagora was exceptional and the food was some of best I had in Morocco, including at the desert camp. I really recommend this company for a great value option for private tours. The fact that they have their own hotel and desert camp is a real bonus too as it's very personal and you get to meet everyone at the company.Written March 17, 2024
- 1959kates0 contributionsThe Best Tour Company in MoroccoThis is the 2nd tour we have booked with this company. On this one, Younes built us a custom package that took us from the waterfalls of the Ourike Valley to a luxury overnight camp in the Agafay Desert. It was nothing short of magical. The attention to detail and our wishes cannot be matched. It is like having our own personal genie. Absolutely the best tour company in Morocco. We cannot wait to return and travel with them again!Written January 16, 2024
- Robine R0 contributionsAmazing!!We had a dreamstay at Chegaga accompanied by our guide Raschid and 4x4 driver Zaid. We advise you to do the camel and dessert tour with Caravane du grand Erg: A great way of travelling with these kings of the desert! Food and tents were great, provided by our local host Raschid. We sat by the campfire singing together under a starry, starry night. What can you ask for more? We had a 100% wonderful experience and recommend you to do the same!Written December 16, 2023
- 770stijnr0 contributionsExperiencing Morocco on the arm of a local to see everything you normally would not.We arrived rather ill prepared for the desert, so our tour guide took the time before we left to properly stock us with everything we asked for. After that it was smooth sailing. Good English and we really came to places that we never would have ourselves, profiting from all the connections the guide and the driver have. All in all it was very beautiful and if our guide did not know the absolute best views and things to do, he knew someone who did. Would definitely recommend. Also perfect for vegetarians/vegans.Written November 15, 2023
- K9635SKnicolag0 contributionsNight in the desert with RachidBeautiful experience! The roadtrip was amazing, the camp was clean and the food delicious. We visit Er Chegaga dune on the camel. See the sunrise at the top of the dune was amazing.Written November 3, 2023
- Mouthaan0 contributionsUnforgettable experience, fantastic guide and organisation.Caravane Travelling through Morocco, we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to visit the Atlas Mountains and the desert (Erg Chigaga). We contacted Caravane du Grand Erg for advice and suggestions. Younis was incredibly helpful and prompt and clear with his replies. We decided on a 3-day private trip Marrakesh to Erg Chigaga. We are super glad we booked with Caravane du Grand Erg. On the trip itself: Ibrahim picked us up. His enthusiasm is infectious. He introduced us to the region and culture. He is a fantastic driver, knowledgeable and was attentive to our needs. He introduced us to some great music. He is well and truly fab! There are too many highlights to mention. However the part in the desert: just wow. We went in low season (Sept) and we were the only ones staying in the desert camp which made it special. I recommend star gazing! Accommodation both nights were good. All in all, we are incredibly happy with our experience and would 100% recommend Caravane du Grand Erg and Ibrahim as the person by your side when you take the trip.Written September 10, 2023

- V1342RTjimb0 contributionsSimply amazing…enough saidCannot recommend this tour enough….a once in a life time adventure. Younes set up the plan and Abdul made it happen. A four day luxury tour to Erg Chegaga…a long journey but worth every mile. Abdul stopped enough times to break up the drive and was very informative with his knowledge of the area and the people. Very passionate about his job. Accommodating for us to stop for photos and answered all our questions. The magic really started when we reached the desert. A wild 2 hour drive through the sand and rock bed till we arrived at a piece of heaven that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. One appreciated the quieter way of life. At the camp we met our “host” also named Abdul and we were treated so well. Abdul was there for all our needs starting with tea and snacks and then off on an hour camel ride to experience the sunset on the dunes. Back for a great traditional meal followed by a fire and drumming. Next day we ventured off on our camels once again for close to 3 hour desert trek to an oasis. Again we’ll worth the trek. After a hardy lunch and a bit of a siesta we headed back to our camp. On the way back we stopped at a authentic nomad home where we were again welcomed with tea. If you cannot tell by now I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure from start to finish. Thank you Younes , yes you exceeded my expectations, Abdul our driver you made us feel so welcome and last but not least Abdul our host you made us feel like one of your family. Everyone one of you has left an fond imprint in our memories.Written April 24, 2023
- pennyburns100 contributionsGreatest experience and serviceJust back from a 4 day trip to Erg Chigaga from Marrakesh, and all I can say is DO IT. From the discussions and requests we made with Younes, to the minute Abdul picked us up and dropped us off we were treated very well, learned lots and had fun. Scenery is great, stops were planned and as needed, camel trek outstanding, dunes and dark sky were humbling. Do the 4 days and do the luxury camp - so comfortable and well treated. Thanks again Younes, Abdul and special shout out to our camp host AbdulWritten April 24, 2023

Younes was our driver and general guide. He was friendly and helpful, and we didn't have any problems communicating with him in English (which, btw, isn't really even required education in Morocco, though some primary schools have recently started with it; so, take what you can get). He was very helpful in arranging extracurricular things like Covid testing, good places to eat (we didn't get sick while there, which is always a plus), etc.. Note that most tour companies have agreements with certain restaurants, and this one seems no different. If you really want to eat somewhere or do something else, just make that very clear and I can't really see them refusing to help you (why risk the negative feedback? also, almost everything can become a discussion if you aren't careful; so, again, firm clarity).
The tour was great. Due to Covid-19 closures, our itinerary was modified such that we stayed a night in Tangier rather than Asilah. I think Asilah would have been nicer (Tangier was noisy and people generally seemed more pushy there than a lot of other places), but what can you do? Chefchauoen was the highlight, followed by Fes. Rabat was cool for its history. Casablanca, Tangier, and Meknes were just OK.
We also ended up spontaneously adding transportation (with Younes) to Marrakech for the second part of our stay in-country. Originally, we'd planned to take the train, and it would have been *much* cheaper, but it was going to strain our trip timeline, add taxi hassles, etc.. One thing I will note is that Younes pushed a bit more abrasively than usual for us to do the private transport when we mentioned we were headed there, and I politely refused a couple times. However, we ultimately opted for it because it just made things a lot easier on us. I'm guessing he pushed it because he's from there (get paid to drive yourself home? why not).
Overall, we very much enjoyed this trip and Morocco.

One of the Best tours we have had. The tour gave us an in depth experience of all the destinations on the tour. We enjoyed the narrow alleys of Fes, camping in the Sahara and visiting Marrakech. The road trips were also great fun seeing the countryside...

My wife and I had a private 5 day tour from Casablanca, Tangiers, Chefchaouen and Fez with our wonderful guide Younes. We felt absolutely safe the whole time and hips attention to detail was amazing. We experienced many local things such as the street food, camel riding and markets. The driving was very comfortable and we saw many tourist sites in a very short time. We would highly recommend his tours due to his experience and manner.
