        Private Solo Female Tour
I traveled to Algeria as a solo female traveler in June 2024. Since I knew very little about Algeria and did not know the language I knew I would need a travel guide to help me navigate the country. During my reserach I came across Fancyellow (National Geographic and Tripadvisor) and I am so glad I did. I started planning my trip about six months out and Fancyellow helped every step of the way. I knew I would be in the country for 10 days and that I wanted to see Roman ruins and the Sahara. They customized a trip for me that met those requirements. They also helped with my visa application when their was a snag in the process. Even before I reached the country they were extremely helpful and great at communication. When I reached the country Fancyellow completely exceeded my expectations. The staff at Fancyellow answered all of my questions quickly via Whatsapp. My drivers always picked my up promptly from the airport and hotels. The guides were passionate about their country and extremely knowledgeable about the sights they showed me. I cannot recommend Fancyellow enough. Algeria is an incredible country and Fancyellow is the company that will show it to you best!

        Algeria: a fascinating country
For me, Algeria was an unknown country, not even listed in guidebooks. During my one-week stay, I visited the Algiers city tour, Tipaza and Cherchell tour, and Oran cities, and was impressed by the beautiful scenery, the country's history, and the mysterious experiences during the tour. All the Algerian people are kind and friendly. The guides were all young but knowledgeable, and I felt that they were proud of their country. During my stay, I was captivated by the charm of Algeria. I felt like I wanted to visit other cities. I definitely want to come back again. And I want more Japanese people to know Algeria, which is full of unknown charms. I wish Fancyellow continued success. Thank you for a truly wonderful time.

        Amazing Algeria
We were at six day tour in Algeria: in Algier, Ghardaia and desert, Tipaza and Cherchell. We met all our expactations. Omar and Islam were very friendly and helpful, local tour guides too. Fancyellow helps with visa and every idea. Even with problem with flight to Algier Fancyellow organized in one hour car and driver, who took us back to capital city. And Algeria is awesome! I hope to come back in the future!

        Merged tours
My trip was merged with another solo traveller's trip after her guide hat motorcycle problems on the way to the Algiers city tour. We met in the lobby of the hotel and discovered that we were on the same tour so it was our suggestion to merge the tours. And since we liked it, we also suggested to merge the Constantine tour. Both days were very good, both guides were local and hence very knowledgeable about the areas.

Excellent short visit to Algeria with a top rate tour company
I took a 5 day / 4 night tour with Fancyellow of Algiers, Constantine and Tipaza/Cherchell. From start to finish the experience with Fancyellow was excellent - very professional, responsive and helpful. They pointed out at the start that the visa process can be frustrating, and indeed it took 7 weeks for my visa to finally be approved so if planning a trip to Algeria I advise starting the planning as early as possible. Algiers is a very attractive and interesting city. It feels very safe and is easy to explore solo on foot or using the metro. Constantine is a great addition for a short visit to Algeria. Built on elevated ground surrounded by deep ravines, each crossed by bridges of differing architecture it's a must see. Last day I took the short drive along the coast to see the Roman antiquities and ruins at Cherchell and Tipaza, and the Royal Mausoleum of Mauritania dating from around 3BC. Each of the guides were superb (Jasmine in Algiers, Bedro in Constantine and Otman in Cherchell & Tipaza), very knowledgable and keen to go that bit beyond to make the day a good experience. I especially want to thank Bedro and the driver Haroun for looking after me before I had to go to the airport for the flight back to Algiers. Algeria is a beautiful and fascinating place, quite different from Morocco for example that I've previously visited, and currently at least is fairly tourist free...

Day two of a merged tour
A merged tour with another traveller. Most enjoyable. We were picked up in Constantine by a driver who is interested in photographing flowers and insects and a tour guide who just wanted to see us to practice his Norwegian a little. Our tour started the day after. Our guide showed us his Constantine, including tunnels that the tourists usually don't see, and including his part of town (where everyone was greeting him). Local musicians practising at one of the sights. Everything was soo good (this applies to the tour in Algiers also) . I leave with a very positive impression of Algeria. Even though the landscapes and sights are spectacular, the people are what I will remember the best.

        Exceeded my expectations
I recently spent two weeks in Algeria with a group of friends and we had an excellent trip. It took some months to finalise the itinerary which was custom-designed and which had to work around flight schedules that were a) not daily and b) not published by Air Algeria until only a couple of months before we arrived! Throughout the planning stage Islam (and Oussama) were really helpful and my itinerary went through the wash a few times before we were able to settle on a final draft. As a tour operator myself, for 35 years, I really appreciated the input and advice from these guys. On the ground everything went really well. We had a number of different guides (the standout was Billel, in Constantine, who will get an even bigger head if he reads this!!) and they were all knowledgeable, entertaining and fun. In summary, this is an outstanding travel agency. You do not need to look any further. Their pricing is very reasonable and the service they gave exceeded my expectations. Well done, guys!

Unique and Extraordinary Discovery Experience Through Constantine & Djemila/Setif
Fancy Yellow Services orchestrated a seamless, two-day tailored trip to Constantine and then Djemila & Setif (booked separately through the company). They effortlessly arranged airport pickup/drop-off, ensuring a smooth start to the journey. Their flexibility with payment processing for the additional trip to Djemila/Setif, when I couldn't find the exact date, was a relief. I reached out to them directly to facilitate the possibility of visiting these places, and they promptly accommodated my travel plans, understanding the importance of my strict travel itinerary. Fancy Yellow also provided car transportation to/from sites around the city and back to my hotel, adding to the convenience of the trip. I am deeply grateful to have had Billel as my tour guide for the two days. His profound knowledge of history and impressive language skills, transitioning seamlessly between French and English, instilled confidence in me to be a more avid language learner. As a French learner, I appreciated his willingness to conduct the tour primarily in French, which made the experience more immersive and enriching. I like his format of going to the museums at Constantine and then Djemila first to get an overview of the location's history. The museums there have great model scales of the cities, which make it easy to understand and conceptualize the sites you are going to visit. In my opinion, it was easier to understand where I was in the city after getting the overview from Billel at the museums. The Constantine tour was superb, with breathtaking views, and Billel is excellent at assisting in taking photos. If you're adventurous to explore the depth of the gorge, it's worth the hike down, although just have some good and comfortable walking shoes. It is possible to see all the major sights in Constantine in a day, but it will be jam-packed with lots of walking on hilly terrain. I recommend having a small day pack with water/snacks, but you can also find plenty of places to get refreshments throughout the city. Constantine is by far one of the most incredible cities I have ever visited and is a must-see if visiting Algeria. If you want to pick up some locally made copper crafts, Constantine has a unique copper market, which is exciting to see. Djamila/Setif excursions on the second day were also fantastic trips. The Roman ruins in Djemila were breathtaking and very expansive in the Algerian countryside. If you have the time, it is definitely worth the visit if you are interested in Roman history and seeing the smaller towns that you drive through to get there. Setif was also unique, and it provided an interesting perspective on a growing city that is becoming more modernized and urbanized within the 21st century. The museum there was also fantastic for understanding local history and its Neolithic origins. I would absolutely recommend Fancy Yellow services for unique experiences tailored to be made for solo and small groups in Algeria! Until next time!

Tour of Southern Algeria - Djanet and Tamanrasset
The Good: Very professional agency that works exclusively with foreign tourists. Oussama speaks excellent English and was very responsive via e-mail. They were able to arrange our tour of South Algeria (Djanet and Tamanrasset) with short notice after we obtained our visas. Fancyellow worked with a second agency based out of Tamanrasset (Mouflon), and they were also very professional (as were the guides, drivers, and cooks) on each leg of our tour. We had a wonderful time bouncing around in the back of a 4x4 and camping in the Sahara and Hoggar Mountains under a million stars...with a soundtrack of Tuareg music. Beautiful views/landscapes, fantastic rock paintings/carvings, good food, and lots of laughs. The Less Than Good: Check your itinerary carefully when you arrive in the south before setting out (it will be in Arabic on the permit, so have your guide check it for you). We missed seeing a village/area outside of Djanet that was important to us as it somehow got dropped from the local agency's itinerary. The guides on both legs of our tour spoke basic English and sometimes struggled to answer very simple/straightforward questions. You will get more out of your tour if someone in your group speaks French. Note: Fancyellow only accepts payment in Euro or Dollars (bank transfer or cash). They don't accept Algerian Dinar. Takeaway: It is very convenient to work with Fancyellow based in Algiers. There is no language barrier. They will book everything for you. You just need to show up at the airport. If you are used to traveling independently and making your own arrangements (as we are), I think you can save some money by booking directly with an agency (or agencies) based in Djanet and Tamanrasset.

Algiers and Constantine 7 days/6 nights tour
We spent 7 days in Algeria visiting Algiers, Djemila, Constantine, and back to Algiers from where we visited Tipasa and Cherchell . Fancy Yellow arranged everything, and everything ran smoothly according to plan. Their drivers and guides were excellent. Algeria is such a fascinating and welcoming country that we would highly recommend visiting and recommend travelling with Fancy Yellow who provided excellent service. We would certainly travel with them again.

Spectacular 18d visit to beautiful and unique Algeria
Fancyellow and Oussama set up an outstanding 18d tour for my wife and I of a wonderful, amazing and beautiful country! We saw the sublime beauty of Algiers with its clean streets, friendly people, fascinating souks and waterfront together with two millenia of history. We visited the Roman ruins at Cherchell, Tipaza, Djemila and Timgad during the height of spring wildflower season. Our visit to the gorgeous city of Constantine was truly fascinating thanks to the expert wisdom and knowledge of our fantastic guide Tewfik. If it's not the world's most beautiful city, it's certainly right up there! Next we set out on a desert oasis drive from Taghit, Beni Abbes and Timimoun all the way to the M'Zab Valley and Ghardaia. The desert tapestries, old kasbahs and ksars, the green date palm filled oases springing from the desert, and the foggara water collection system were fascinating to see! Ghardaia's 5 towns dating back as far as 1012 AD were stunning and the Mozabite culture was unique. Finally we visited the pièce de résistance - the spectacular, remote and otherworldly desert of Tassili N'Ajjer. Driving through Martian landscapes filled with 8-10,000 year old rock art and petroglyphs was a once in a lifetime experience. Our guide Nourdin with driver and cook Ahmed and Abdul were a great team! My only real complaint comes here. We were told that we would have a 4x4 with A/C to drive through the desert. Instead we had a crammed Toyota Hilux pickup cabin with 5 people and no A/C. It's why we decided to cut the trip short by a day. 8-10 hours in 100°F+ conditions inside a jam packed little pickup cab with 5 people is not a pleasant experience - even with mindblowing landscapes rolling by. We met up with other tourists along the way who had a similar experience. Nobody had A/C so visitors should be made aware of this in advance - it's not likely you're gonna get A/C, regardless of what your tour operator and drivers tell you. Overall, it was a spectacular journey and many thanks and kudos to Oussama for always staying in contact and working the phones to smooth over any potential rough edges. A+ and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Fancyellow!

Everything went like clockwork a really efficient firm
We spent 7 days in Algeria visiting Algiers, Djemila, Constantine, Ghardaia and back to Algiers from where we visited Tipasa and Cherchell . Fancy Yellow arranged everything for us, hotels, transfers, internal flights, guides and all the individual tours. They also helped us with our visa. We have travelled extensively but have never dealt with such an efficient and helpful company. Although there were multiple parts to our holiday nothing went wrong and all the guides were exceptional and knowledgeable. Cannot recommend them highly enough. Everything went like clockwork. Algeria is a fascinating country well worth visiting.

Fantastic experience and my highest recommendation!
Fancy Yellow was absolutely amazing and I recommend them completely. I can't compliment this company highly enough. Before we left, they created a custom itinerary for a companion and me to tour the three main Roman sites, the city of Constantine, and the city of Algiers. From start to finish, the entire trip was seamless (even when we asked to change plans one day). We didn't know what to expect, but exactly as promised, a driver met us at the airport on arrival, helped us change money, and got us to our hotel. Every day after that we had excellent and knowledgeable tour guides waiting for us in the hotel lobby or meeting us on site, excellent transportation everywhere by private car, and seamless admission to every site exactly as described. And things remained excellent right up to our final transfers back to the airport in the middle of the night (!). Communication was excellent from start to finish, and our tour guides spoke flawless English. Fancy Yellow even helped us obtain our tourist visas (not easy!). If I ever return, as I hope, I will ask them to coordinate the trip.

The guide was very interesting but I think the company did not take the traffic into account as it's not possible to visit all of the sites in the 7 hours of the tour. The time allowed at each site is not accurate either because it does not take into account travel time between places. In my opinion having less sites to visit would be better because then we would have proper time to spend at each one.

We contacted Fancyellow after reading a review in the Travel section o the Washington Post. Omar and all the other tour guides and drivers were EXCELLENT! There were 3 people in our group and we arrived and left Algeria at different times. Omar coordinated absolutely everything - plane tickets to Constantine and Timimoun, guided visits, pick ups and drop offs - really everything.
He and his staff answered so many questions from us during our site visits to Djemila, Timgad and Oasis around Timimoun.
I only wish we had spent more time in Algeria - so much to see.
Omar knows all the ins and out of applying for a visa to access Algeria. Fancyellow can also recommend great places to eat and what to eat. We were taken to great places to shop locally made products.
If you want to travel to Algeria just contact Fancyyellow!
Our trip was made so much better by having a great travel agency take us around al the places we wanted to see and are so happy we selected Fancyellow.

Omar and Amine organised the most fantastic trip to Algiers, Tipasa, Ghardaia, Djemila and Constantine for our honeymoon.
They made everything so easy for us and even changed our entire itinerary at the very last minute to accommodate various flight cancellations relating to our flights in and out of Algeria.
Every single tour we went on was outstanding including the choice of guides.
We are already planning our trip back (to visit Djanet) and I can safely say that this was the best organised tour I have ever been on (and I have been on quite a number of tours across various continents).
I cannot recommend Fancy Yellow enough!

We booked the full day tour of Algiers with Fancyellow and were very pleased with our tour. Our tour guide Rasha was very knowledgeable and spoke wonderful English while giving us all the historical details and stories behind the Casbah and other sites we visited. Yassine coordinated our tour and contacted us on Whatsapp 2 weeks in advance. He also helped arrange a ride for us from Algiers to Oran. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who visits Algiers.

The Tour Guide was extremely knowledgeable about Algiers. She spoke perfect English. She was professional and courteous. The trip through the casbah was memorable. The botanical gardens were delightful. The museum at the Mémorial du Martyr is fantastic and really highlights the history of Algeria - a must experience venue.

I was part of a small group tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Algiers is a beautiful city with a rich history. Omar is a great, personable guide, and between translating for us in 3 languages, he made the tour feel very relaxed and enjoyable with his friendly personality and deep knowledge Algeria's/Algiers' history.

Our group of 3 women had only 26 hours in Algeria-so we wanted to experience everything Algiers has to offering a very short time. Fancy Yellow tours delivered. Ahmed helped us with the visa process as soon as I booked the city tour. He offered to assist when the visas were delayed. He booked the luxurious Lamar hotel for our stay and made sure the friendly driver met us at the airport. He immediately responded to my after-hours request to change the time for the driver to pick us up. Fancy Yellow is run by professionals who will make sure you have a great time in Algiers.
Our city tour guide was "Su". She has an exceptional knowledge of history, art and daily life in her country. Her English was very easy to understand. She tailored the walking tour to our interests. Lunch was a delicious assortment of local dishes. We felt that we were spending the day with a friend who wanted us to enjoy and understand her hometown.
We saw it all, thanks to Fancy Yellow and Su.

Fancy Yellow’s tours, tour guides and drivers were excellent, whether it was the tour of Algiers, or trips to Tipaza, Cherchell and Djémila. I was able to learn a lot about Algeria as well as getting good recommendations of things to do in my free time. They were also very helpful on email whilst I was sorting out my visa. It was a memorable trip and I would absolutely go with them on my next trip to Algeria.

      Highly recommended travel partner.
Everything was like expected. Oussama was always available via WhatsApp.
We made 3 tours in 3 days - all were organised very professionally.
Especially the Constantine City tour was outstanding!

Zak was particularly well informed and could answer every question. He was caring, thorough, and generous. A safe way for a solo woman traveller to explore a fascinating city and its history. Many varied stops and Zak was happy to accommodate my needs and interests. Recommended!
