Absolutely the best surfing group on Oahu! We did a family session with Cole and despite it being the first time for 2 of us he had as not only feeling confident on getting up and riding the waves but also improving our emerging skills. Incredible!

My 9 year old daughter loves to surf when we come to Hawaii during the summer. I never thought of her taking a lesson when we were at Waikiki - but we signed her up for a private lesson and she loved it - so signed her up for a lesson the next day too (Elle was her instructor and great!) Professional, experienced and great photos! I felt comfortable with my daughter out in the water with the staff!

We are an active family of 4 with a tween and teen. We selected the family package with a family member under 12 years old. The entire crew was supportive, safety oriented, and helpful. We were comfortable and felt safe with Cole, Jupiter, and then rest of the crew. Since we were a party of 4 and had two terrific instructors, we barely waited before it was our turn to try and catch another wave. The crew kept us in a steady pattern launching two of us, while the other two swam back out and briefly waited. We also got positive, helpful feedback from our instructors and the rest of the crew. Everyone in our family got up and rode a wave multiple times thanks to the instructors setting us up and the crew giving us reminders. Mahalo! Our family was with a larger group of 6-7 people who worked with other instructors. It all worked out fine. We had such a great area of the beach that wasn’t crowded, so it worked well. Improvements: The website was a bit confusing and I’m still unsure if I paid the correct amount since we had a tween that met the family retirements and then had to add on two additional family members. Instead of having odd signups, the website should use the ages provided and make the calculations. Pro tip: sunscreen the back of your legs, your glutes, and your lower back. Then do it again to be safe. We weren’t as thorough as we should have been and got a bit pink. Still worth it.

This was an absolute blast. I've never surfed before, so I booked a private lesson. I appreciated the one-on-one instruction while with others who were taking group lessons. It meant I got some tips and guidance from other instructors too, and I loved that they took photographs which I was able to buy afterwards.

This is definitely the highlight of our family trip in Oahu. If you’re a first timer and never thought you could ever stand on surfboard, this is a must experience. Thank you Ohana project for the very meaningful experience. Keep doing what you’re doing.

Great experience with my 12 year old who wanted the opportunity to surf while in Oahu. Friendly, well organized instructors, easy logistics. My daughter loved it.

This is the most organized surfing class I’ve ever seen. They show you a video explaining everything. They then do a warm up with you and teach you technique out of the water. They then have a great system of getting you surfing the waves. It was easy getting up on the boards with their techniques. We had a great morning. Our kids will never forget surfing in Waikiki.

This surfing experience was amazing! Cole and Ariel were so great with our family. We all caught so many waves and had a blast. We were able to borrow rash guards and water shoes for free. The location was super close to our hotel and their Surf Bus was super cute!

Really great experience. Our instructor was very helpful and encouraging. Would absolutely do it again. It was a perfect amount of time as well!

Awesome first time surfing experience! Instructors provide constant feedback. They definitely work hard to get everyone up by the end of the session.

Family was visiting and wanted a surf lesson. We choose Ohana Surf Project because they are highly recommended!! I now know why. Booking was simple. Jenny had excellent customer service. We were greeted with smiles and excitement when we arrived. The team is professional, encouraging and fun. All 4 of us were able to stand up on our boards! Ages 12- 50!!! We felt safe with all the instructors- Cole and Alana were great!! The best part was the photos!!! Thank you Chelsie for the memories!!! We will cherish them forever!!! (BUY THE PHOTOS!) We had the best time ever! My kids loved surfing, and it was there first time and got up more than once. The instructors are so encouraging and helpful. The pictures and videos are so worth it. It was a great time and highly recommend

The staff overall was amazing and our coach Romeo did an amazing job with my daughter. The owners made us feel very welcomed and even offered us a ride back in their personal vehicle (we did the one hour family lesson) instead of having us wait for the shuttle. My 12 year daughter was able to catch a few waves and is addicted to surfing now. Me, I was a little out of shape and got exhausted easily but I still had a blast. We will definitely book with them again on our next trip back to the island.

I have tried surfing many times in my life and thought I would get it because I am “athletic”. Whether trying surf lessons in San Diego, CA, Oceanside, CA, Camp Pendleton, CA, Ocean City, MD, Kauai, HI, Thailand, Guatemala or the other places in the world I would get humbled and frustrated with surfing!!! I said “WTF, why can’t I surf???” After these humbling and difficult surfing experiences all over the place, a friend suggested trying OSP(OHANA SURF PROJECT) in Waikiki, Hawaii. I was hesitant in doing this because I expected another frustrating and annoying surf experience. After a safety video, signing some waivers, stretching, and surf instruction on land we were in the water. Wave 1, didn’t get up but got some coaching from the surf instructor. Wave 2, got “up” for a second then fell in. More coaching from the surf instructor. Wave 3, got “up” and “RODE THE WAVE!!!!” Now I was saying, “WTF, I was just surfing!!!!” Wave 4, more surfing success. Wave 5, more surfing success The success continued for the rest of the session. This one session got me hooked and I have been a repeat customer with OSP ever since!!! I will continue to go with OSP AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND going with OHANA SURF PROJECT if you want Learn to Surf!!!! All the team is amazing and helpful during the lessons. It was my husbands first time and the instructor (Miguel) was helping him during the 2 hours. Also the other instructors were helping the other people if they needed. Because of their great job, my hunsband unlocked his new hobby :)
