        Worth it
Taking the trek up the Diamond Head trail is definitely worth it IMO. Go early in the morning if possible but take water with you. It's not an extremely challenging hike but the trail zig zags as you climb up. As you get to the very top, you'll walk through a long, somewhat narrow tunnel. When you emerge, you'll have the choice of turning right and ascending an intimidatingly steep set of stairs or go left up a less scary route. If you look on the wall in front of you, you'll notice that it's a loop. I would personally take the route to the left and make your way slowly to the top where you can get some great pictures of the area. Then, keep walking down a narrow path to a bunker of sorts where gunners used to guard the coastline. Once you climb into the bunker, walk to the back and you'll find a circular stairwell descending to the lower level which ends up being the top of those intimidating stairs you saw at the beginning of the loop. Walk down those stairs a go back through the tunnel to make your way back to the entrance of the trail. Should take a little over an hour give or take a few minutes depending on how many breaks you take ;)

        A memorable challenge
This was an exhilarating experience! Before I got to the site I was worried that I was too out-of-shape, and not ready for the hike. But when I got there and saw more senior folks than me, making the trek, I was heartened. I am very glad I chose to do this. It was a challenge that resulted in enormous satisfaction upon reaching the top. The view is breathtaking. Well worth the hike.

Picked up at hotel in timely manner in a new air conditioned van. Friendly driver. Gorgeous walk to the top and stunning views at the Blow Hole stop.

        Diamond Head Hike/Manowa Falls
Had a great time doing the Diamond Head Hike. Recommend going in the am very little air movement in the afternoon. Narrow and uneven paths. View was beautiful overlooking Honolulu. Also went to Manowa Falls where they filmed Lost, Jumunji 2 and Jurassic Park. Very rocky incline with a water fall at the end. driver gave us bug spray and a walking stick, which came in handy.

        An awesome experience!
Matthew, our driver, was the absolute best. I really enjoyed his humor and all the fun facts he told us. The hike was hot and hard but I felt like I had my Rocky Balboa moment at the top!! Spectacular views!

Our tour guide was informative and encouraging on how to climb Diamond Head. As we traveled to Diamond Head he shared information on many sights that we passed by. Scenery was amazing at the summit

        Positive Hiking experience
It was great! The ride was fun and the driver had lots of jokes and information. What a wonderful hike. Would recommend for solo or groups. Cost is cheaper than a cost of uber and ticket.

Diamond Head Tour From Hyatt Regency
We did the hike in the time allotted however, it could have been better for us if we had another hour to walk and view. We made a friend as well on our trip. We wanted to see the view from the top! It's gorgeous!

Even the Rain Couldn’t Dampen Our Fun
Our driver was great! He called me to let us know he had arrived at the pick-up spot. We didn’t see him arrive and he was parked behind us. He was funny and entertaining as he drove us to the park. The hike was strenuous, and was slippery in the rain, especially the descent. We were easily able to complete the hike in the allotted time. The views were beautiful and probably would have been better in bright sun and with no low-hanging clouds.

        Tough hike but great payoff
We visited Oahu recently and we knew we had to visit Diamond Head. We got our reservations as soon as the date opened up because there is limited availability and they won’t let you in without a reservation. Once there, we headed straight up on the hike, not really knowing what to expect. This is a pretty challenging trek, you start uphill and keep on going until you reach the summit. The trail is a combination of paved, rock, and some stairs mixed in for good measure. Along the way there are a few spots to stop and catch your breath and take pictures. At the top, there is a platform to climb onto and admire the views in all directions. The scenery really is breathtaking, with views all around of the island, Honolulu, the ocean, etc. We stayed at the top for around 20-30 minutes just taking it all in. We like hikes where there is a good payoff at the end, and Diamond Head delivers on that point. Well worth the effort to get to the top, highly recommended.

This was a very enjoyable activity on our first morning in Hawaii. Being on East Coast time made it easy to do the early departure at 5:45a. The vendor was excellent in providing pre-arrival info on meeting time and place and rental/purchase options and cost.

The drivers were friendly and provided laminated sheets that showed the snorkeling area and the fish that are in the reefs. Whales had also been seen in the area as they migrate south. Active duty military with ID are not charged the $25 State Park Fee. The staff at the park were very informative. There is a concession for burgers, chicken tenders, fries etc. for the usual high prices. There is a rental fee for lockers.

Free trolleys run frequently from the park entrance up and down the hill to the beach, or there is a walking path.

The 12:30 departure from the park is well-timed.

It would be nice if a small "non-snorkel" discount could be offered for people (like me) who don't do well in that activity and have no need of the equipment but want to spend time with others who do. My husband did enjoy the water and saw a few fish--I enjoyed the sun and beautiful beach. There are nice areas to walk in the park for overlooks of the beach, look for birds, and see beautiful trees and flowers.

Amazing day! Second time we have used your service and has always been excellent and well worth it! Picked up at hotel, driven to the bay, snorkel gear was provided in bag divided up for each separate group, brought right to the front of the line for $25 entry fee, driver had fun facts about Hawaii each way. Very professional. Stunning Hanauma Bay is such a gem with such a variety of fishies to see. Bring your reef friendly sun screen! This time I used an iPhone protective water safe case to take pictures underwater.
Also just to comment. Maya R’s review is completely FALSE. Why she paid valet parking at her drop off hotel (esp when she said I’m from here - my parents live here) not sure about. There were appropriate seats for the “packed” van. She and her partner were late for the ride back. Driver was courteous enough to wait for them after everybody was already loaded and waiting patiently. They failed to listen to where the pickup point was which was clearly explained more than once. Driver jokingly commented it might be an expensive rideshare home trying to make light of the situation, and here they come running over the hill. Then 30min into the ride home she realized she left the S/D card in her rented equipment. Driver radioed base company and offered a solution. Her partner declined and said “don’t worry about it, we’ll figure it out” when they got dropped at their hotel spot where they parked. If you wanted the guided tour, make sure you pick that. This was not that one. Inappropriate jokes must have been on the ride to bay, nothing bad heard on way back.

Very nice time but super hard to get reservations. They only allow to book reservations 2 days in advance, starting time 7am Hawaiian time, sold out by 7:10am, so you have to have credit card and try hard to get the limited appts. 25 bucks a person plus 3 for parking. Saw some fish but remember alot more back when. Kids had a good time. Buy your snorkle stuff at Walmart in town, 15 bucks for simple set. You can rent, did not ask, had my pwn stuff. They will not let you in early, so be there 20 mins before appt time.

If you are used to lush coral reefs and stunning fish, don't bother incurring the expense to get here. They make it really hard for you to get here. Tickets go on line 2 days before and apparently sell out in 5 mins. If you are lucky enough to get a ticket, you have a window of 15 mins to collect your ticket at your allotted time. $25 each. Then if you drive you have to get a another cost for a ticket to park. Otherwise it is Uber Or else you can go with what seems to be the only tour company who pick you up at a terrible hour of 5.45am. They collect you from the main hotels, so if you aren't staying in them, you have to get yourself there. Early. They take you to the Bay, give you snorkelling equipment and collect you 5 hours later. Cost about US $85 plus the guaranteed entrance fee of $25. The bay itself is beautiful, as the photo shows. They show you a film beforehand and lessons about the reef. According to them it is alive but looks to the average person, very dead. Long dead. Fish.. yes I saw a few lovely coloured ones, etc. But was it worth it? No not really. You can hire snorkelling equipment there. The tide was against us and going out so we really only got a short time to swim .The cafe at the top is awful, serving fast food at its worst, and just coffee and flavoured sugary cold tea. What a shame - incredible spot for a beautiful cafe serving food that does justice to the stunning scenery.

Loved it! They picked me up and took me to the site, and they collected the entrance fee (cash only). They worked with the employees quickly, and we were literally the first people allowed inside the park (remember that when you think that you could just travel by Uber). I took pictures with no people in the background, and I got first pick of a spot on the beach. When it was time to go, they picked us up at the promised time.
The snorkel equipment was previously packaged for each person's size requests.
This is not a tour with a snorkel guide. I wanted a flexible morning to relax and swim and not worry about details, and this was it. Beautiful bay with amazing sea life that even a beginner could successfully navigate.

Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re so glad to hear you had such a positive experience. You really highlighted some of the best aspects of our service—being the first to access the park, having the beach almost to yourself, and the convenience of not having to worry about any details. It’s true, with Uber or other options, you might not get that same priority access, and it’s so rewarding to hear that you enjoyed the flexibility to relax and swim at your own pace. We’re also happy to hear the snorkel equipment worked well for you! We’re always here to take care of the details so you can enjoy the best parts of your day. Thank you again for choosing us, and we hope to see you back soon for more amazing experiences!

Hanauma Bay is spectacular. Our guide was very efficient. Keep in mind that this is really just a shuttle service there and a way to easily get your tickets into the park. You still have to pay $25 per person to get into the park on top of the fee for the service. It was very convenient to do it this way. The snorkeling equipment that comes with the package, wasn’t the greatest and probably needs to be upgraded to a higher quality for those of us who planned to snorkel for the whole time there. Overall, we had a lovely time and it was a good service.

One of the best snorkeling locations in the world. Lots of beautiful reef fish to see up close. Plan ahead though. Tickets are only available two days in advance and can sell out quick. The day I bought mine, all tickets sold out in a couple minutes. We arrived ahead of our time slot and still had to wait about 50 minutes till we made it to the bay. Didn’t leave us with enough time in the water.

Aloha! Thank you for sharing your experience. Just to clarify, we are the company that provides the shuttle and snorkeling gear to Hanauma Bay, not the park itself. We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t have enough time in the water. If you decide to join us, our shuttle service ensures you’ll have more time to enjoy the bay, plus you won’t have to worry about waiting when you arrive! Hope to see you soon for a more relaxed snorkeling experience!

We left the hotel in Waikiki at 6am, so we were able to see a beautiful sunrise from the observation deck at the end of Hanauma Bay. Compared to the past, Hanauma Bay has less coral and the water is less clear, but we were still able to see many tropical fish while snorkeling. We recommend renting a beach umbrella and chairs, even though it's a bit expensive, to fully enjoy the amazing view from the beach, including the sparkling water.

Incredible beauty, amazing views underwater, and close to the city.

We did NOT have reservations, but got up early (we are from Florida so our internal clocks being 6 hours ahead, it was not at all difficult to get up early) and was able to get in. Rolled up to the entrance and it was lined up both ways. We drove by thinking there was absolutely NO WAY we were getting in without a reservation. So we bypassed the entrance, pulled off on a scenic stop and looked around and headed back toward Honolulu. When we passed the entrance again there was NO LINE! Drove in, paid $3 to park, and went to the blue umbrella and got passes without a problem (we were there around 7 am). Rented some gear and were some of the early ones in.

I had done extensive research and saw many post that it’s better to get there early before the water gets murky. So glad we did because it was definitely easier to find fish early on compared to later when the sand was churned up. Go early!

As we were leaving, noticed some divers WAY out on the left hand d side. To do it all over again, that’s what I would have done. Maybe next time!

The only knock I have with the space is it is rather expensive. By the time we paid the fees and got some old rental gear it was nearly $200. I’m glad we went, but I think it should be about 1/2 that considering it is a state park and they are subsidized by tax dollars and are not a non-profit keeping everything up and staffing with private funding.

We had a fun day at Hanauma Bay. The drive up was interesting as we drove through the pricey coastal residential neighbourhoods and saw many beaches. We left Honolulu at 6:10 am so we also got to watch the sun rise near Hanauma Bay. Snorkelling right off the beach was an amazing experience. There were all kinds of fishes, all different colours and shapes.
We are not strong swimmers so we had rented life vests from Kaimana Tours. We were disappointed that they were the inflatable kind but the worse part was that we could not get them to inflate. Kaimana agreed that at least one was defective and gave us our money back. We ended up renting proper life vests at Hanauma Bay for the same price ($10 per vest). The shop there has snorkelling gear and everything you need for a very reasonable price. Be prepared that the Hanauma Bay park staff limits the number of people allowed on the beach so you will have to line up at least 30 minutes before you can get in. Once in you can stay as long as you want.
