- Huntertexas00A ok!Enjoyed the sites, your recordings and the boat ride to the Arizona memorial site. This is a special place for the family because so many died so unfairly. Our trip to Hawaii would never be complete without the visit to the Arizona memorial site.
- USSPuebloMan00Looking for ideas for the USS PuebloThis was underwater, not the Pueblo as well. Pueblo floats strong in North Korea, taken from US, we win. We only had fishing trawlers and Toyota corolla sized boats. Pueblo.
- Curious2353784852400Picturesque Views!Although it was a little rough walking up all those steps to the top the end result was worth it. We captured amazing views that we'll always remember. We enjoyed learning about the history along the way.
- K4894ISac00USS Arizona Self-guided TourWe went on the normal self guided USS Arizona tour at Pearl Harbor. Tickets were easy to get if you understand when to get them. It was easy to park and find where to go. It was a very moving experience for my 8 year old, 12 year old, my parents and myself. It was a little rushed, but I understand that they have to move a lot of people. The lines and boat ride were flawless. Definitely buy tickets instead of the standby line. Do not bring any bags unless they are a small see through bag.
- jerrytm201400Loved the Narrated Walk up Diamond HeadWe arrived about 9 o’clock and picked up our headsets at the farthest kiosk from the parking lot. The path was paved for a while, and then, as it climbed became a rocky walkway and finally steps. The markers indicating the next recording were not all present, but the map helped to show where we should go to the next stop. The recordings were very informative. It took us (71+ y/old) roughly 50 minutes to walk up and 30 to walk down. I recommend this activity.
- jasonhuffsings00Visiting the USS Arizona Memorial: A Hallowing ExperienceImportant: If you want to tour the actual USS Arizona Memorial on the water, you must have a reservation if you do not want to wait in the standby line!! The only place to get those reservations is off of the National Parks website/Recreation.gov. The reason I am adding this is because my friend was ensured he had the right tickets, but it was only for entrance into the main museum area. Therefore, we had to wait in the standby line. Sometimes, the reservations are hard to get because the site is overloaded (I've heard this from several people), so keep trying. If you do just show up without reservation tickets, the standby line is where you can wait in order to be placed in the boat after those who have reservations have been boarded. Granted, although the boat out to the memorial is a large boat, you can wait quite a while. We ended up waiting three hours, but it was well worth it. The earlier you get out to the memorial (without having reservation tickets) the better, because you never know how long the line is going to be. This portion of the tour is managed by park rangers and they do an excellent job of keeping everyone sorted and moving through the lines. Please be respectful to them as they're only doing their jobs. I recommend that if you're not entirely familiar with the history of Pearl Harbor and it's role in the United States' entry into WWII, you go through the museum portion of the memorial before actually going out to visit the memorial itself. There are several films that can be watched along with other exhibits which tell the story about that tragic day. I am a historian and have studied WWII, but I still found this part of the tour helpful as it was a refresher as to what happened that day and sets the stage for stepping onto the actual memorial from the water. I have no words for the actual memorial itself. To be standing on the place where so many men were entombed was very moving. On the tour I went with, you could almost hear a pin drop until the park ranger began speaking, such a significant gesture of honor and respect for those who perished there. Also, plan to visit the gift shop. There are a lot of neat items in there that you'll want to take home with you. Overall, an excellent, yet hallowing experience.
- Odyssey5734747645300Incredible viewsThe views were so incredible! The hike is fairly easy took about an hour return. Just a lot of stairs and uphill. When you reach the top the breathtaking views make it all worth it.
- Brown_Samantha00Must do when visiting Honolulu and Pearl Harbor - a solemn place to pay respect and never forgetThis is our second visit, the first being over 20+ years ago and easier to visit than now. Reservation is required but we found tickets were easy to obtain with a little bit of planning. There is also a "stand by" line that people can take a chance to get tickets (free, with a small processing fee). We arrived early in the morning by Uber well before our time slot so we could visit the area and get some photos. You get a safety briefing and history share, before taking the boat over the water to the memorial. It is a sobering experience. The park ranger was very helpful with question/answer. We were curious about the survivors that chose to have their final resting place at the USS Arizona Memorial! She provided some information that was so interesting. We feel this is a "must do" when visiting Honolulu and Pearl Harbor. Note that you can only carry a small bag. Locker facility is available outside of the area, so plan ahead.
- Ismet K00USS Arizona Memorial visit recommendedVisiting Pearl Harbor was touching and emotional. My family and I have learned a lot trough tour guide / organized trip /visiting a museum at the site with abundance of materials from December 07, 1941 (the day of attack). Visiting Pearl Harbor and paying respect to those who sacrificed their lives so that we can enjoy our freedom should be obligation to everyone who visits Oahu.
- Jennifer B00Memorable experienceThe visit to the memorial was very moving. The ranger shared information about the site with visitors and made this visit something I won't forget
- D3443ZFjenniferh00Read this USS Arizona may helpWe went aug 20 on a Sunday, got there at 10:30 we walked around tying to figure it out didn't have any tickets. We went right into the standby line it was not that busy, got right in BUT make sure you no which door to go through. One on left is movie the one on right is the uss Arizona please pay attention with that nobody was there to guide you. We ended following the ppl heading i to the movie and realized that wasnt right so went and asked and it was the one on the right so its all confusing. But didn't have any problem's with getting on right away. Do that first then check out next every thing else.... Everything else costs money to see but well worth it. When you check out the sub make sure you ask for the guided tour its just a little device you get around your neck and ear pieces that you here and changes by itself when going through the sub on its own .after outside you plug in the numbers and it tells you about it. They didn't ask us we asked them what they where for so just pay attention and then there is a 3rd guided tour but we didn't do thst because we where so hot by then we just walked snd read that section. But be prepared to be there all day looking listening and reading... hope this helps someone when we went it was so confusing we purchased all the tickets there. Arizona didnt need it if in standby line.
- mslabrooy00A moving experienceA visit to this sacred site which had a major impact on world history was certainly a moving experience; if you plan a holiday in Hawaii then a a visit to Pearl Harbour is a must.
- Michelle N00Must SeeBeen here before but brought the kid with us this time. You have to log into the site to get tickets RIGHT at the moment you can get them as they were sold out within 3 min. However, stand by line didn't seem long at all. Disappointed they don't show the film prior to going over but you can go watch it later.
- keshort7800Such an ExperienceThis was amazing and wonderful and heartbreaking all at the same time. Definitely something that everyone needs to do when they come to Honolulu. I purchased the tickets ahead of time and although they say to arrive an hour before your time, you can't line up until 10 minutes before your time.
- Smiley202400Amazing Pearl Harbor tourMy husband and I did a complete tour of Pearl Harbor which included visiting the Arizona, the Bowfin, Missouri, and the Aviation museum. We booked it through Pearl Harbor tours. Our guide, Vili did an exceptionally good job explaining and getting us from place to place. He also took us to other parts of the island to the Punch bowl, military cemetery, and a few historical sites downtown Honolulu. We highly recommend this tour for a comprehensive look at Pearl Harbor.

Very good value as I booked the day before. The one item I would recommend is for the company to disclose ferry tickets should be purchased to go to the USS Arizona before you purchase this experience. It wasn’t clear as the ferry books up real quick, I was able to get my family on standby but if it was busy I couldn’t do that. I feel that i was lucky because it was a slow day. I did enjoy the memorial it was a great experience.

Sadly, you have to pay to book a tour with a tour group or hotel if you want to visit the Arizona Memorial. The 1,300 “free” tickets that are supposed to be released and available at recreation.gov at 3p.m. each day are already spoken for by these for profit tour groups. Also, the park authority will not allow ride shares so be prepared for a bit of a walk and an all day wait in a standby line, with no guarantee of getting a ticket, if you don’t book with a tour outfit. We had 3 days in Honolulu and thankfully figured out the game on Day 2. We booked with hotel concierge and got on tour Day 3. Site itself was very moving and well done.

Don’t book via trip advisor- book through the government website for recreation because it is the only way to reserve a time for the boat out to the USS Arizona Memorial. We booked through trip advisor and had to wait an hour and a half on standby with our three teenagers to get out there. Otherwise Pearl Harbour was well worth the visit- educational and moving.

Visiting memorials is always a sobering experience. The Arizona was even more so because of the pains taken my the on-site military and staff to remind us that there were 900+ marines and sailors still entombed at the site. I was skeptical of the short visit to the monument itself, but it turned out to be about right. It’s likely that if you want more time, you could just take a subsequent ferry. Took an audio tour of the visitor center and monument, which was pretty good. I was glad to see mention of some of America’s missteps as well, such as the the internment camps. Overall a great experience.

I just turned 70 and have heard stories about the Japen's airal attack on a Sunday morning December 7,1941 since I was a child. "War what is good for" has meaning for you this is the place you might or might not want to visit. A Memorial to those sailors that fought and died that Sunday morning, having no idea that world was about to change forever. It was the first day of the USA becoming supper power in the world. In defeat America changed forever..

Pearl Harbor was an amazing experience. The price was less than anything else I could find. Afterwards I still think you made a mistake by giving it at such a low price. Even with paying for our own transportation it was still less expensive than any of the tours offered by the hotel or other online.

This is such a humbling experience. It was difficult to get tickets for the boat over to the Arizona, we arrived at 7am to get in line for standby, luckily we were able to board without too long of a wait. We did the self guided audio tour, which I highly recommend.

Spent a great day at Pearl Harbor. We used the audio tour and virtual reality tour for the first time. This was our third trip to Pearl and we got so much more out of it using the audio guide. The virtual reality tour was nice, especially the underwater tour of the Arizona. It is a very sad day in American history that we should never forget and continue to honor.

Three of us enjoyed our visit to this memorial. It was especially nice that you could see so much of it without paying for it. And we were fortunate that it was not a busy, crowded day. The only inconvenience is that you can’t take a purse in if it is bigger than a cell phone so we had to leave purses behind. Cell phones are allowed so we could at least take pictures.

The 6 minute VR tour was way better than walking an hour looking at pictures and reading wall plates. It really became the summary before the audio tour, which we just great.
I would recommend spending the $25 for two for this to all my friends!
