Molokini is a textbook example of how climate change and tourism is killing reefs
The boat ride was the highlight of this trip. If you plan to snorkel or SNUBA, be aware that Molokini is a dying reef with clear signs of bleaching. Don't expect a huge variety of fish either, though you will see lots of Black Durgeon Triggerfish. To their credit, our SNUBA divemaster discouraged anyone from getting too close to the reef under the threat of a $10,000 fine. If you're trying SNUBA for the first time, the real experience is breathing underwater more than the reef itself. The food was adequate... a continental breakfast and burgers & hotdogs for lunch. They also had a few veggie burgers even if you forgot to put in a request. If the seas are choppy or if's windy, Turtle Town will likely be cancelled as it was for us due to underwater visibility. No refund, they just keep you at the crater an extra hour. So if you're looking to get out on the water and aren't dying to explore a reef in decline, do yourself and the environment a favor, and opt for a sailboat excursion instead.

      Experience of a Lifetime
The most amazing experience. The molokini crater and turtle town was one of the coolest things I’ve done. The crew was helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast and lunch were good. Totally worth the price!

      Charming, safe, and fun
I understand it can be a bit expensive, but you're in Maui. Nothing is free (or cheap, really). The experience goes a long way to justifying the price (breakfast, lunch, gear rental, complimentary drinks, open bar on the ride back, etc). Me and my fiancé are both good swimmers, but we didn't have to be. Floatation devices of preference are provided to everyone. We saw some incredible marine life, and 2/3 turtles! Needless to say, you're not guaranteed to see turtles, but the staff go out of their way to help you find them. Sláinte!

      Amazing family experience!
What a spectacular family adventure. We all participated in the SNUBA option (SCUBA-lite if you will), which was just wonderful. The staff was great as well. I can not say enough nice things.

Great time. Lots of fish and turtles
Amazing snorkeling at Molokini. The crew was great, and we saw a lot of turtles at the second stop. Everything went well and they provided breakfast and lunch, too

      Great Snorkeling
Our family had an amazing time snorkeling Molokoni Crater and Turtle Town. The crew was excellent with getting us suited up and prepared to snorkel at both locations. The breakfast and lunch were yummy (seriously, the burgers were way better than I was expecting) and plentiful. Both snorkeling locations were excellent and my kids had a blast going off of the slide, too. This was definitely a highlight of our time in Maui.

      Great Times and Maui Memories
Wow, what can we say! Sometimes you go on a vacay excursion and you think, “Well, that was a waste of money.” You WILL NOT waste your money here! My girlfriend, her daughter and I had an epic adventure! Alex and Jenn, who were seriously fantastic, took us to 5 different unique snorkeling spots. Absolutely stunning! A variety of fish, lava tubes, beautiful coral, and the beloved giant sea turtles! Also, even though it was intimate, only about 13 of us passengers, there were varying levels of ability. From beginner all the way to professional, the young, the old , and in between. Jenn and Alex were patient, helpful, and humorous, making sure everyone got the most out of this experience. 10 out of 10!

      Awesome Trip
Second year in a row doing this trip-it’s that good. The crew is amazing the snorkeling awesome. The boat is not oversold and people aren’t packed onboard like sardines. Waves dictated another spot aside from turtle town-no worries turtles are everywhere. The winds and waves over the islands during our trip were pretty strong no different on Maui. Our Captain and crew helped smooth out the ride and the alternate spot was dead calm. The way back to the harbor was short and smooth. Lunch was very good and the crew was very attentive throughout the whole trip. Anther Maui must do.

Don't use VIATOR to book tour
The snorkeling tour was amazing. However, I would advise booking directly with Pride of Maui. We booked through VIATOR and the day before we were sent the incorrect meeting location and time from VIATOR - I guess computer glich. These things happen but they are refusing to refund our money!!! Not good business, don't trust VIATOR with your tour plans.

      Happy Family Snorkel Trip
We were a large group with several kids and this was the perfect snorkel trip for us! Pride of Maui had excellent service and a helpful and friendly crew. They were a well-oiled machine with handing out gear, serving food, and helping families in/out of the water. Plus the boat was not crowded, so we had room to spread out and relax. My only negative was the wind picked up and we were not able to go to turtle town- it made me curious how often the boat makes it to the 2nd stop? If we come back to Maui, we will book again.

Not much to see there. Disappointing not being able to see very many different types of fish. We were very disappointed. There used to be many more species of fish to see

The sunset dinner cruise was excellent. We’ve lived on Maui for 20 years and enjoyed seeing the island from this new perspective. The hula performances are not only beautiful, but also humorous and informative. The crew is friendly, high spirited and brought the passengers together in a way that made the whole trip feel like an exciting family experience. There is so much to do and see that we would definitely go again.
I would recommend bringing a sweater for after sunset just in case the wind picks up.

We love to share with Kamaaina. You are so right, that viewing the island from offshore on a beautiful evening at subset, is a wonderful perspective, even for 20-year residents. I have lived in the islands almost 50 years and am still in awe when I am out there on the ocean, feeling the cool trade winds in my face, smelling the ocean, and taking in the majestic Maui coastline. Thanks for recognizing Maka and Kimo's beautiful Polynesian dance and song, which they deliver from the depths of their Aloha Spirit!

Really enjoyed this laid-back, relaxing sunset cruise. Since it was that season, we got to see lots of whales. The captain was able to move the boat as close as he could so we could all see the whales. The crew was amazing, especially the team that also entertained with dancing and bartended. I really appreciated that the boat is not at full capacity as it mean there was lots of space to sit as well as move around. Even waiting till the end of the food line meant only a 5 min wait.

I had done this cruise right before covid lockdown, and was very happy to see the team is still around on my first trip since lockdown. Considering the cost of dinner, plus entertainment, plus open bar, plus a sunset cruise -- this really is really worth the value to me.

Mahalo Rich for going out with us again to enjoy another beautiful Maui sunset. I feel blessed to have such a loyal team of pros, who’ve been with me for decades. Kimo and Maka love to share their culture through Polynesian song and dance, passed down through generations of their Ohana (family)..Our Maui Sunset Luau Dinner Cruise does provide much more value and enjoyment, than the standard sunset cruises offered by others. I’m glad you felt the difference your overall experience was, aboard our spacious boat, which as you noted, operates at about half our Coast Guard capacity. This too sets us apart and provides an unmatched personalized, and relaxed experience for our guests. Thank You for joining us again this year. We look forward to seeing you again next year!

The price was very reasonable, the ship is very nice, the crew was all incredibly hospitable and friendly, and the entertainment was fun. Oh, and there were whales all around us and the sunset was stunning.

The only downside was the food. It wasn't bad, but is pretty much just picnic food. Average in every way. And, they ran out of some of the foods.

That said, we had a great time and would recommend this cruise to anyone who is looking for value and is OK with average food.

Aloha, Mahalo for taking the time to share your experience and for giving us a 5-star rating! We are fortunate to have crew members Maka and Kimo, who do an excellent job telling the stories they do, and tending to our guests' other needs! Whales and sunset sound like a wonderful time! Our food is always freshly prepared and served family-style, so many of our guests go back for more. We apologize for running out of certain items, but we appreciate the feedback so it can be addressed! We do hope the rest of your time on Maui was fantastic! -Amber C. DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL MEDIA

Maka and Kimo were amazing!! They found a way to bartend, clean up, play ukelele, and dance for entertainment all within 2.5 hours! They were very attentive and helpful with even the smallest details. Everyone appeared to have a great time! The captain did a magnificent job of keeping the ship on a great route and minimized unnecessary movement so people could walk safely! Very grateful to have this as part of my honeymoon with my wife. Thank you guys so much!

Maka and Kimo are amazing! I am sure they enjoyed performing for you and your wife on your honeymoon as much as you appreciated them. Our skippers are experts highly skilled at operating our flagship Pride of Maui, which is the largest and most stable Maxi Power Catamaran on Maui. Attention to the smallest of details is is one of the many things we do in our quest to exceed your expectations.

WOW!!! What an amazing experience our Sunset Dinner Cruise was. We traveled in May 2021 with 24 family members to celebrate my Dad’s retirement and 65th birthday. Scott the owner was incredible in helping with the plans, logistics, and menu for the private charter. Everything was catered to our family’s taste preference and the service on board EXCEPTIONAL!!! The entire crew - Captain Jason, Takako, and Kana took such great care of us. The dancing, singing, and ukulele performances by Maka and Kimo were amazing! This was by far the highlight of our trip. Everyone at Pride of Maui went above and beyond, and gave our family an evening we will truly never forget. From the bottom of our hearts, Mahalo!

Aloha and Thank you so much Alissa for your kind words. I love to be directly involved with private charters, and especially events such as yours where I was honored to help you plan such an important evening for your Dad, I’m especially grateful you took time out to recognize my team, who truly are the best of the best. I was especially moved by our conversation after the cruise and you mentioned how excited the young ones were to spend time with the Captain that evening. My guys enjoyed spending the evening with your family and even asked me to send more just like your group who clearly appreciated the extra mile they always go to share their Aloha, and the beauty of this very special island of Maui. I am so proud of and fortunate to have the best team in the business, both out there on the boats, and also those who work tirelessly behind the scenes, (chefs, guest services and operations team), to ensure everything from food and beverage service and the overall experience is exceptional, from start to finale. Our goal is for you to feel like you were hosted by your Ohana (family), and to experience genuine and heart felt Aloha through the beautiful Polynesian dance and song of Maka and Kimo, on the ocean, during sunset, with delicious food, drink and company. Thank you for recognizing the efforts of our team by name and sharing your experience with us. I believe we accomplished our goal which is to connect with you and create memories not soon forgotten!

Found this Luau dinner cruise on a list of Maui’s top 10 luau’s. We tried without any luck to find a traditional luau (pig in the ground, hula dancing, etc) and everything was sold out except for this. This was a fun twist on a traditional luau but is definitely not the full experience you might expect. There was hula dancing and traditional storytelling which was fun and our performers were spirited and talented! The food and open bar was pretty good but standard as far as food goes, nothing extraordinary. We cruised to see the sunset which did not disappoint. Overall, this was a fun experience but pretty expensive for what you actually get.

To start the Captain prevented us from boarding, while we stood in the rain, dressed for a romantic dinner cruise on Valentines Day, listening to him say something completely useless that he could have said after we boarded and we out of the rain

Next drinks were so bad we could not enjoy them

Go to the Hyatt order a pina colada to see who its done. Cheap ingredients make cheap drinks, and I am not just talking about the quality of the alcohol. . We tried 3 different ones, all bad

Next appetizers, think cheese tray from Costco, and I like Costco
    Dinner
Absolutely do not advertise Chicken on the menu and then serve just dark meet thighs.
Potatoes were to hard to eat, stick with mashed, with butter and garlic, and you would move up to 1 star. Next ribs were actually good, but to me 6 ribs is half a rack, 3 just does not cut it.

I must complement the crew. I have never seen a crew work harder, but you need to give them better tools
This was supposed to be romantic dinner cruise on valentines day. Not one thing about this cruise was Romantic, perhaps at least play romantic music.
Turned out to be comedy show, with staff running around to change costumes, make drinks, but hard to do both at same time, had to change costumes behind bar

Our Maui Sunset Luau Dinner Cruise is exactly that.. What we provide and what to expect is identifiable by visiting our website or reading any number of 5 star reviews from guests who have joined us and taken the time to share their experience. There was a rain squall that blew through and our Captain quickly boarded our guests to get everyone onboard as soon as possible, where he then finished his US Coast Guard required safety briefing. Your safety is our number one priority and most guests understand the importance of this though you may consider it unnecessary. Please read what other guests have to say about the freshly prepared and delicious food we serve. We pour nice wines from Napa, cocktails mixed from premium labels (Kettle One and Ocean Vodka, Makers Mark and Jim Beam bourbon, Bombay Sapphire and Tangueray gin, Tres Generationes and Teremana tequila, Johnniw Walker and Chivas Regal scotch), to name a few. Perhaps the most disappointing is your inability to recognize or appreciate genuine Polynesian dance and song, performed by Maka and Kimo, whose passion for their culture and art is nothing even remotely associated with comedy. Here again, please read the plethora of other guest reviews regarding their appreciation for the deeply rooted cultural experience. Maui is a magical place and this cruise is designed to share that with our guests who appreciate how truly special the island and culture is. We are glad other guests share their stories, including two reviews from guests this very same evening., who said it was “fantastic and wonderful”.

Amazing experience! We were so impressed by James and Jodi, who were not only the performers but the greeters, bartenders, and servers. They were super personable and made the experience unforgettable. We enjoyed the open bar and the three course meal (cheese plates, main meal, dessert). We visited at the end of whale season, and we were able to see a few whales and even some dolphins. The captain gave great info about the whales and the area. Definitely recommend!!

First of all the food was terrible. Most importantly this isn't a luau cruise. A husband and wife do a couple dances and then turn on obnoxious mainstream music. I didn't pay to listen to Cardi B. I paid for authentic Hawaii experiences.

We booked this event the last moments right before leaving Maui as all other dates were sold out. It was wonderful! The hula dancers were graceful and also served as photographers and servers. They were very kind to my young children.
We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and the live singer dedicated a song to us as well as those celebrating birthdays.
The food was good-ribs, chicken, veggies, ube and mango cheesecake with fresh fruit. YUM!
We went in mid January and got to see some whales breaching pretty close up! It was magnificent, and the kids LOVED it. They couldn’t wait to present on it at school. Keep your eyes on the horizon! That shouldn’t be hard with the beautiful sunset… breathe and take it all in.
