This was the last excursion we did while on our honeymoon and it was so fun to end on! We have been to Maui a few times and I truly think this is one of the best Molokini Crater trips! The reason I say that is a few things.

While it is an early start, you are one of the first boats out there which makes a difference. The crater can get overrun with boats and tourists and it is nice to get in and out before it gets too crowded. Also the sea state tends to be calmer in the morning which is a bonus if you are not the most comfortable in the water or the best swimmer. Redline does offer belts that help with buoyancy too which is great.

The people either make your experience or break it and we had Zach and Niko (sorry if I spell these wrong) and they were so knowledgable about the island and the sea life and excited to share it with us! Thank you Zach for all your great dad jokes too-that was definitely a plus!

The boats they have are smaller so you have a smaller group of people to worry about bumping into in the water and you get to have a lot of fun while jetting off one place to the next.

Some of the things we say on this tour were tons of different species of fish, moray eels, octopus, manta ray, and lots of turtles. Depending on the time of year you go, there are so many different pelagic life you can see, but it is worth it no matter what.

From check in to drop off the experience was fantastic and we would 100% go out with them again! If you are looking for a shorter day experience, they also have other boats that do different tours that I would recommend looking into.

Our family of 5 had the most amazing day on this trip, we started with snorkelling along the Molokini Crater & then the back wall where the visibility was incredible, we saw so much life there.
We were in wonderful hands for the whole trip, Tony the captain of the boat, gave us a thrilling ride across the waves in the Zodiac & we loved it, he also shared a great knowledge of each area & the history of its formation which added so much to the trip, combined with his witty one liners which had us laughing all day - he was an absolute star.
Kelly was there at every stage to take care of us, her diving knowledge was fabulous & she was so attentive to make sure guest’s equipment & water technique ensured they got the best out of the day - she somehow also managed to feed us breakfast and lunch!
Our trip finished with the most incredible swim with green turtles, rightly protected here in Hawaii we were given clear instructions to ensure they weren’t in anyway intruded upon by our presence. Swimming & observing them in their own environment was really beautiful , it was such a special experience in a stunning location.
If you only do one trip in Maui I would certainly recommend this one - it was such a highlight of our travels around the Islands. Thank you Tony & Kelly.

This was one of the best boat/snorkeling trips I've ever taken. The trip to Molokini from Kihei beach is only about 15 minutes. We chartered the entire boat and were able to snorkel along the interior perimeter of the entire crater. We saw hundreds of fish and even a shark and other sea animals. After that, we snorkeled along the sunken portion of the crater and then the outer perimeter. We saw the 'elevator' which is a place where water rushes vertically along the side of the island.

The tour guides were fantastic. I'd highly recommend this trip to anyone.

My wife and I took the Molokini and South Maui Coast Snorkeling Tour on 2/8/22. We had a great time. The snorkeling at Molokini exceeded expectations due the clarity and abundance of fish given their positioning in the crater. Much better than what we had seen at Club Lanai and Manele Bay a few days earlier. 3 of the 4 snorkel spots were excellent (Molokini, Backside of Molokini, La Peruse Bay). Turtle town was disappointing due to sediment, though we did see one from the boat. We did a little whale watching, but if you are looking for more whale watching I would recommend Captain Steves Rafting out of Lahaina. Redline optimizes snorkeling time (4 sites in 5 hours) So if the snorkeling is primarily what you are looking for with a little Humpback whale action, then Redline is an excellent choice.

This was an amazing experience, and with Johnny and Allie as our tour guides, we all had an incredible time, and learned as we had fun! We did the 7AM tour, which I highly recommend, as you get to Molokini Crater first, before the hordes of larger boats unload dozens of snorkelers. We were there about an hour, and left as the larger boats were arriving, so we had the waters mostly to ourselves. Molokini crater offers exceptional snorkeling, with crystal clear water and teams of colorful fish swimming and feeding on coral. Because the rafts are smaller, they are able to go around to the backside of the crater, which is another cool spot. Not many fish, but amazing geology to take in. Then we traveled to La Perouse Bay, and the journey was as much fun as the snorkeling, splashing through wave after wave - it felt like a great rollercoaster ride! La Perouse provided a greater variety of fish to swim with. On the way to our last stop, Makena Surf (to see turtles), we spotted some Bottlenose Dolphins, so the pilot took a slight detour, and stopped the boat to allow us to view these beautiful creatures up close, as they kept swimming and diving near our boat. The final snorkel spot at Makena had less clear waters, but did offer a lot of large sea turtles to swim near. I highly, highly recommend Redline Rafting for your snorkel adventures!

My husband and I researched several companies before deciding on Redline Rafting...and we couldn't be happier with our choice! Our guides were so relaxed and knowledgeable. We booked the 5-hour snorkel experience, which gave us about 4 spots to check out, breakfast and lunch. Each spot we snorkeled in provided it's own version of a reef system, so unique and each so beautiful! The last spot was "warmer" and closer to shore and of course you can't forget the SEA TURTLES! They were all over just hanging out with us in the water! For those with camera, it is def a spot to take some up close photos. We saw tons of whales (it's January so it's prime time), one even breached right in front of the boat. We couldn't have asked for more that day, we are so thrilled to have experienced this portion of Hawaii with Redline Rafting!

Kaika and Zach were great guides. We checked in and were offered wet suits which we did take with us on the ride. Before snorkeling, we had cinnamon rolls and fruit as advertised to give us an energy boost for the day. My fiance did not grow up in the water and was quite scared getting into it (walking in is fine, jumping in gave him some anxiety) Kaika responded calmly and immediately was able to help him feel more confident in the water -- with another guide, he may not have made it. He later said that the snorkeling was his favorite part of the entire trip so really Kaika, thank you! Molokini was AMAZING, that stop alone was worth it - clear water, so much to see. The other spots were great as well. We did end up needing the wet suits as it got chilly for the later swims so I would recommend at least taking one with you. Lunch after the swims tasted great. One word to the wise... don't drink a lot before the trip, it's a long day without a bathroom!!

Swimming with the turtles on the last stop (of 4) was my favorite part! The entire trip was a great once in a lifetime experience. We did the early tour from 7am to noon, so we got out to Molikini before everyone else as it was our first stop on the trip. So many cool fish & so much sea life to see! We also had great visibility that day. The boat rides between stops were super fast & so much fun!! Almost like a water ride at an amusement park! Sean, with Redline & his colleague (cannot remember his name!) took care of us very well. It was also nice to have the entire day left after getting back so early as well. Be sure to give them a tip! They'll certainly earn it. My biggest piece of advice for the trip (& Maui in general) is to WEAR SUNSCREEN & reapply often! Have fun!

We went out on the 5 hour Molokini Tour, and had an AMAZING time. Our tour only had 15 people, and Redline got us there half an hour before other boats started arriving AND took us to cool spots bigger boats can’t get to. We went out with Alli and Jonathan, and they really pulled out all the stops: cool trivia about the area, local recommendations, helping us identify fish etc etc. Can’t recommend enough!

My wife and I wanted to take this tour because of its extent. Most snorkeling trips on Maui take you to a couple of places, but Redline takes you to FOUR! Getting a reservation is not that easy, though. Due to Covid, they are only allowing 12 on board their motorized raft. They suggested watching their website for a last minute cancellation, and when one appeared, we pounced.
We met at the boat ramp at 6:30, so that we'd be out at the Molokini crater far ahead of any other tours. We watched flying fish skip over the water in our wake. A quick breakfast and into the warm waters. The crater is essentially a fishbowl, and we enjoyed the multitude and variety of fish passing us by.
Then, as other boats were arriving, we took off to the back side of Molokini, where the walls drop a sheer 250 feet down. We were told to watch for big creatures like rays, but none appeared. Instead, we were treated to scores of fish all the way into darkness.
Climbing back into our boat, our skipper suggested we have a little fun, riding the waves to the lava caves on Maui's southwest shore. "Sit tight and don't bounce," he suggested. "Otherwise it could get uncomfortable." Turning up the volume to the Rolling Stones, we bounced and swerved over the waves as only a boat like this could. Another snorkeling spot, then off again, roughriding the waves. We slowed as a pod of spinner dolphins jumped around us, then a last snorkel stop at Turtle Town. Many of the endangered green turtles swam around us, which was quite a thrill. Lunch of deli wraps, chips, cookies, and soft drinks followed, before arriving back at the ramp.
This was a wonderful trip, and my wife and I will definitely go again. But a word of caution - this is not an excursion for inexperienced snorkelers, or the faint of heart. Our skipper and crew were very solicitous, making sure everyone was having a great time(and we were). But there was no one babysitting us in the water. We were told where danger might lie, but no one was blowing whistles and waving arms. We were adults and treated that way. And no question - the ride from Molokini to Maui was a thrill!
Like I said, we'll do it again!
