      Under the sea in Maui
This was the one spur-of-the-moment thing we did on Maui. The Atlantis Submarine Maui have a water shuttle to bring you out to the sub, and then after the people on the sub get off, your crowd gets on. The submarine was specially made for the company, so there are seats running down the middle of the sub and you sit facing the large observation windows. Then they take you down 100 feet to the ocean floor and we got to see all sorts of sealife. As sea life is noticed, our guide would tell us about them, from goat fish to white tipped sharks. There is a ship they sunk on purpose to create a man-made reef which teemd with fish. It was a very cool experience. I highly recommend.

      Submarine great, views fairly dull
Trying to be objective here but a little conflicted. The technology of a submarine and seeing how it works was great. So, if you want to go in a working submarine then do it. However, if you want to see anything then this is not the tour for around $160 inc taxes. You can see many more fish on Lahaina beach with a snorkel and see them in full colour. Basically you take a boat out of the harbour and then circle an old wreck for a while (not very interesting) and then look around for a bit more before surfacing. The party of 4 I was on were all a bit non plussed by it Neo was our guide and she was lovely and funny but certainly none of us would do it again So, if you like subs do it, if you want to see something interesting there are much better options

      A bit underwhelming
I guess when in Hawaii, one must go to at least one luau just for the experience. I’ve been to others to compare but we were staying in Lahaina and brought our adult kids for their first time here. This Luau is a bit underwhelming. We bought VIP seats and could not see the musicians. Not the best positioning on the stage. One guy throwing around fire on a stage at the end, a lot of storytelling songs and dance ( which is basically what a luau is). The location of the luau is odd. The ones I have been to have the beautiful ocean and sunset as your backdrop… this luau has a hotel building. Like most tourist attractions, it’s a money pit. We paid over 1200.00 for the family…then they hit you up for photos… more for digitals. The servers were very good and kept your drinks filled but afterwards, hang around waiting for their tip. Awkward. The food was very good. Quite a selection and the food line went very quickly.

      The snorkeling trip was amazing!!!!
The snorkeling experience was probably my favorite planned activity we did in Maui! The snorkel Boat Captains were amazing! Great history lesson while traveling to the nearby island to kick off the snorkeling trip where we saw many different species. We then went to a different reef spot off close to the Maui shoreline and were snorkeling with over a dozen sea turtles and exotic fish species. The submarine tour was nice and compliments the snorkeling adventure well and is a great package for a full fun day on the water. If I had to pick it one it would definitely be the snorkeling trip as my favorite!

      Awesome experience
The crew is so knowledgeable and so much fun! Very cool views under the water. We got lucky as the visibility was real good the day we went out. We even seen a couple of sharks!

      Just do it!!
Great adventure for the whole family (esp non-scuba divers)! Our first time in a real submarine, we saw lots of different kinds of fish plus small sharks and even a stingray. Entertaining staff, beautiful views on the boat ride to and from the submarine, highly recommend.

      Great, Unique experience
The submarine experience was the first for us, and it was a unique and enjoyable experience. The guide was knowledgeable and witty. We took a boat to the submarine and then went down under. We were lucky to spot sharks, fishes, starfish and coral. We touched ~130 feet and the floor at that level. Cool to see the sunken boat and hear the stories. Submarine was not cramped and did not feel claustrophobic. Cool to see the submarine come out of the ocean and go down. I will recommend it.

A once in a lifetime experience
It was a real thrill travelling along the ocean floor over 100 feet below the surface in a real submarine with close up views of the coral reef and tropical fish. With lots of portholes along both sides, the captain made certain that everyone had a good view of the ocean life. We visited a sunken ship and even saw SpongeBob! It was a definite hilight of our trip.

Atlantis submarine is not to be missed!
I took my sister on the Atlantis for the first time. The Sub tender is named Roxie, the same as my sister. We saw many interesting fish including a rare spotted eagle ray that swam along side the submarine. The trip overall was really great as I will never be scuba diving. My sister really loved it and the whales on the way out were a bonus.

      Great experience!!
unexpectedly, it was not a scary but a pleasant experience. No fear aboard the submarine. The views were not necessarily the greatest ones as you may see in a documentary, but we saw a shark and many local fish, besides the sunken ship... It was worth it.

      Great fun
Our Group of 3 people had a great time on this trip. Our Guide Brandon added a great sense of dry humor to the trip that we enjoyed. The surfacing of the submarine as you were pulling up in the shuttle boat was a nice touch.

      Down we Go!!!
Wow. This was a great adventure and one I would definitely recommend! The staff was friendly. Its a submarine! And you get to go down in it! We dropped to a depth of 140 feet or so. We saw various wild life including a ray, 2 reef sharks, turtles, and rare fish (multiple). While the rest of the reef is still trying to recover from the bleaching effects (widespread death of their reefs) of polution and global warming, Atlantis's man-made sunken ship reef is actually thriving (due to not being on the sea floor). Thoroughly impressed. Totally worth the money!

      So Fun!
This was so awesome, it is a tad bit pricey but it is so worth it. The Captain and crew were all so fun. We had Paul as our guide and omg he is great and hilarious. He really made the experience awesome. We got to see so many awesome fish that we didn't see while snorkeling. Due to covid they only have about 20 people in the sub which is perfect because you are able to see out the window infront of you and behind you.

Really can't decide whether we would recommend this submarine ride or not. Having never been in a submarine, that was interesting. Having never been 130' underwater, that was interesting too. However, the actual number and types of fish were very underwhelming and they were difficult to see. The most interesting thing we saw were a few divers who were exploring the sunken ship while we were there. The tour leader had a very loud voice and he definitely was talking all the time. It was somewhat uncomfortable to have to bend over from our seats to look out into the water. The main reason we might not recommend this tour is that it was, in our opinion, overpriced for what we saw and experienced.

Aloha and thank you for your review. We're glad that you enjoyed your overall experience exploring in one of our state-of-the-art submarines! However, we're sorry to hear that it wasn't as exciting as you had hoped. The ocean is often quite unpredictable, and sightings of underwater life vary from hour to hour. We appreciate your valuable feedback and will be sure to share it with our team. Mahalo!

Excellent activity, made all the better by our guide/captain who was engaging, knowledgeable and confident. He seamlessly led the tour providing us the right information at the right time we loved his "dad jokes".
Worth the $140 pp price tag.

This was amazing! The staff was extremely friendly and very thorough with their safety and they are spot on with getting people on and off the submarine. We were able to see all kinds of fish. Large and small, sharks, rays, different kinds of coral. It was a wonderful experience. We all highly recommend.

This was one of our favorite experiencThis was one of our favorite experiences while staying in Maui! Suggestion: On your phone, switch to "Pro Mode" and adjust the white balance to make the underwater colors look more natural. Otherwise your automatic photo settings will just turn everything blue. ISO 100-800 (or auto) works well and shutter speed can be anywhere between 1/32 to 1/160 (or auto) depending on your camera and whether you are shooting photo or video.

Anyway, to set expectations: You'll be in a long, large tube filled with people. None of us felt claustrophobic at all in there since it's nicely ventilated/air-conditioned and you do feel like you have a good amount of space.

The views were a little foggy but stunning. Especially the shipwreck. We also saw some sleeping sharks laying on the seabed, which was amazing. Very skilled captain was able to get us very close to the sharks and the shipwreck. Also saw lots of coral reef!

Would definitely recommend this to anyone that has ever wanted to explore the bottom of the sea! es while staying in Maui!

A fun underwater sightseeing experience in Maui.

It's a short boat ride from Lahaina pier to the submarine site where you watch the prior tour group surface for underwater. One group shuffles off the sub to the water shuttle while the other shuffles on. Once aboard and seated, the sub gets underway pretty quick. It descends to about 100 feet, eventually hitting a max depth of 125 feet during the course of the 40 min-ish ride.

On our tour we saw some small sharks, a variety of fish and the sunken boat and anchor. The driver does a good job of making sure both the port and starboard sides of the sub get to see everything. Our trip was mostly full, but not completely. We didn't feel too packed in.

As the tour guide explains, the colors underwater at this depth are far more more muted than one would expect. Everything looks like its in a bluish-green monotone. No vibrant colors. We got some good pictures, but nothing spectacular.

There's not a ton to see down there so don't go in with undue expectations. Nonetheless it's a unique experience and certainly worth the trip.

The guides were friendly and helpful.

A fun experience suitable for all ages. The price includes a 15-minute shuttle boat ride to (and back from) the mini‐submarine with views of West Maui. There are 5 stops on the submarine tour, the most active being the reef and the sunken ship that creates a habitat for fish to gather. The staff point out interesting sea life findings and have little bits prepared to make the tour entertaining during a lull of sightings. The tour wraps up with deboarding onto the sea shuttle where you get to watch the next tour group submerge.

It'd likely be best not to take children that are unable to walk. Activity-wise onboarding/offloading on sub requires traversing a ladder.

Fantastic experience. Excellent visibility today. Got to see all kinds of fish including sharks and stingray. Fantastic coral reef. The sunken ship is fantastic. The best part of the whole experience was definitely the captain of the submarine who had us in stitches with his self professed dad jokes :p

This was a great activity, especially if you are not a scuba diver but wish you could. The sub has porthole type windows for every seat (although a little tight for large people) on both sides of the sub and is air conditioned so pretty comfy. We went down to 131 ft but the best views were at the sunken boat. We saw tons of fish and many came right up to the sub windows. We even saw a couple white tipped reef sharks. We felt it was worth the money because we will never scuba dive and we saw a lot of fish from their environment. Very cool. You do need to climb down and up a steep metal ladder so be mindful of that before booking if you would find that a challenge

At first we thought this would be a glass bottom boat. WRONG ! This is a real submarine, took us down about 100 ft to the ocean floor. We saw sharks, sting rays, many Nemo like fish, and even a shipwreck. The vessel is roomy and well air conditioned. The guide was very knowledgeable and professional and we felt very safe the entire time. Plus we saw several whales above the surface on the boat ride out to the submarine. Highly recommend.

We booked a tour for 4 adults, a child, and 2 infants. We specifically used the website and chose infant which was a choice THEY provided. When we arrived they told us infants aren't allowed and they wouldn't refund us. When we asked why it was an option if not allowed he just laughed it off and said we should know the rules that aren't listed anywhere. When we asked where we could find the rules he didn't know. We never got to go on the tour because of this bait and switch.
