Meet your guide as specified upon booking confirmation. Once at the beach, you receive seaside safety and paddling orientation. Then hop into either a single or tandem kayak for a paddle along the gentle and shallow waters of Maui’s west coast and enjoy views of the Ukumehame Valley. Next, you jump into the water for a snorkeling adventure with your guide. The calm and shallow waters of Maui’s west shore make this a safe place for families and all skill levels. Explore coral reefs in shallow waters not far from shore searching for sea turtles, colorful coral, and vibrant schools of fish before heading back to land. All kayak, snorkeling, and safety gear are included in the tour and the guide caters tips and instruction to all skill levels. The tour ends at the departure point.

Our family of four, with two boys, were on a one month tour of Hawaii, with one week on each of the four islands. We did activities on each island, had many wonderful moments, have to say the Kayak experience with Tyler at Kelii’s the most outstanding, should have been 6 star out of 5. Tyler is not only giving a tour, but his love of the water simply radiates in a very positive manner, yet never offending nor demanding. He really knows the water, and we had close encounter with whales, turtles, sea urchins, and lots of kayak and snorkeling fun. We have taken two other big boat ride before this and have seen many whales moments which were great, but the kayak experience should not be missed since it was most close and personal. Thanks for sharing your enjoyment of the water with us!

We had the best time with Tyler and Justin as our guides!! We had a small group and they took great care of us. They are very knowledgeable about the island and it’s waters. After a last minute launch location change (always safety conscious), we were treated to a great paddle. Tyler walked us through the launch process so we were really comfortable getting out on the water. We ran into a bait ball (something new I learned about!) and then saw a whale hanging out under our kayaks. After a few minutes the whale headed off and surfaced out in front of us. Truly magnificent and once one a lifetime experience!! I would highly recommend Keliis Kayak with Tyler and Justin as they ensure you have an unforgettable time!

I took this tour as a solo traveler and had the best time! The guide, John was exceptional- encouraging group bonding and telling us all about the sea life, whales and area we were seeing and traveling through. It was a good calm paddle out to the shipping lane to see and hear whales pretty close- totally thrilling! We returned to the Olowalu reef for some of the best snorkeling I've done, off the kayaks. Clear water, tons of fish and healthy coral and a couple turtles. A wonderful way to spend time on the water and one of the best tours I've taken in Hawaii.

The parking / meeting area has a steep curb that makes it easy to bottom out on low cars and lots of soft sand- I almost got stuck and I wasn't the only one. Use caution when pulling in.

Wow. We picked Kelii’s Kayak Tours for the positive reviews and more intimate experience than the larger boat excursions. Still, we didn't expect the outing to become one of our Top Ten experiences ever. We met Curtis at 7:00 am to find it would just be the three of us that morning. Formerly in the Coast Guard, Curtis is proficient in all things marine, so we learned much about Maui and its ocean environs while paddling in calm waters with very few others around. Having kayaked only a few times in the ocean, his instruction was terrific – including helping us learn how to exit and board a kayak offshore.

Then came the real excitement. We saw numerous whales breaching in the distance but after about twenty minutes of paddling, a whale slowly surfaced just 20 feet from our kayak. A thrill. As we stayed quiet in the kayak, we were then treated to 15 minutes of two whales “singing” back and forth to each other – likely a mother and her calf. Later, Curtis led us to a large coral reef where we spotted several sea turtles and swam through schools of fish for at least 30 minutes. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect morning in wild Maui.

Amazing Kayak tour!
Our family of four booked a kayak and snorkel tour with Kellii’s. They were great about helping us rebook at a time that worked for us when our first booking had to be canceled because of weather.
We left out of Olowalu for the early morning tour. Our guide was Curtis and he was so awesome! He explained how to kayak so my daughters (7 and 10) knew what to do.
We first kayaked out to see some whales. Wow! We saw several whales and even saw one breach! Definitely an unforgettable experience. Then we kayaked back towards shore and had some time snorkeling. We saw amazing coral reefs, tons of fish, and turtles! Curtis was great about making sure we stayed safe and pointing stuff out to us. He was also super knowledgeable about the island and the animals and shared lots of cool facts with us. We had a great time! We would definitely do it again in a heartbeat! Mahalo Kellii Kayaks and Curtis for a great experience!

Best excursions of the trip!
We can’t thank our guide Tyler enough for taking such good care of us. He was very patient, personable, informative, and attentive to all the needs of everyone in our group, which included both mobility and motion sickness challenges. He brought us to a snorkel spot, where at one point we were swimming with 6 turtles. As we had forgotten our own underwater camera, he was kind enough to take pictures for us with his own, then shared them with us when we got back. We were so impressed with Tyler, we phoned the next day and asked to be booked on his next tour, wherever it might be. This time he took us on the Kayak Maui West Shore excursion and we had another great morning, snorkelling with turtles and this time we had a humpback calf and its mother swim excitingly close to our kayaks. Thanks Tyler, you’re the best!

Kayaking to whale song!
We had a great experience doing the early morning kayak around Turtle Town. Tyler was an amazing guide. I’ve had many many guides on adventures and he was one of the best- giving great instructions, making sure we saw wildlife and being friendly and helpful to all. He spotted a whale as soon as we paddled out and had us paddle straight to it. We waited for him to come up to breathe several times and heard him singing below us. Tyler took video and captured the song, then airdropped them to us. We saw several turtles and snorkeled with one. A fabulous morning!

Awesome trip!!!
We went out with a group of eight yesterday and it couldn’t have been better. Curtis was our guide and he was wonderful. Not only did he explain everything to our group of newbies, but he was also very patient with the two older members of our group who were a bit slower than the rest. He made sure we paddled out to a good spot for whale watching and then made our way to a beautiful reef for snorkeling. We highly recommend the trip to everyone!

Amazing morning with the whales. Tyler was the best
We had an absolutely amazing time this morning. Tyler was our guide and he far exceeded our expectations. He knew just where to go and had us sit as whales went right by. They were so close I couldn’t believe it. I was concerned about the 7:30 start time but as promised it was not cold at all. He really has a lot of knowledge and is passionate about marine life and Hawaii. His relaxed style was just right. This trip is well worth it and the best way to see whales, turtles and learn to kayak!!

Amazing! I did not know what to expect since this was my first time snorkeling and I loved it. Jeremiah was a great guide and very patiently guided me through how ro breathe while snorkeling, if he did not take the time to help, I would've missed out on the awesome experience.
