Before going I read a lot of reviews that said that you were only going to get 15 minutes of actual scuba diving in. This was not at all true. We were down for about 40 minutes and it was a really good length of time. I mention that because I thought I would need to do 2 dives but after 40 minutes I felt I had a very fulfilling experience. Our guide Logan was great and very helpful. My wife needed some help sinking but he worked with her and she did. There was three of us with the guide and the person in our party struggled a little bit but Logan stayed with him and brought him around to have a successful dive. We saw sea turtles, devils scorpion fish that Logan pointed out( I would not have noticed otherwise because it looked like a rock.) Saw lots of different fish down there and thought it was a great introduction to scuba diving. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to try it out.

First dive was great many turtles, second dive was ok. Recommendation : have the instructor bring a small outdoor mat or rug - the area before entering water has gravel and rocks.

Dove with these guys to get my scuba diver certification. Very accommodating, easygoing, relaxed and enjoyable. Pleasure to dive with every step of the way. Do recommend!

They trusted my girlfriend as a new diver to do sheraton caverns and gave her great tips. Very cool guys and they listen to what you want to do, which isn’t always the case!

Got certified by dive Kauai a year ago and this was my first boat dive. They are fun, thorough, thoughtful and safe. We did 2 dives, they provided drinks and snacks and literally all we had to do was show up. Would definitely dive with them again. Ask for Captain Nick, and instructors Logan or Zach.

I did a recertification dive with Dominic. He was very laid back and put me at ease since it’s been a while since I last dove. We were able to knock out most of the requirements on the first dive, which made the second dive a relaxing recreational dive Dominic was very professional and friendly in his approach and I thoroughly enjoyed the day Looking forward to booking another dive while on Kaua’i! Very safe and professional. They even helped me work through some boat-surface anxiety I was having as a new diver. My spouse had difficulty clearing his ears and they really adapted and adjusted to help everyone have a great time.

Dom was an excellent guide for our scuba refresher! It had been a few years since our last dive, but he made us feel at ease with clear instructions and a kind demeanor. Thanks to his guidance, we quickly regained confidence and had an incredible dive. We saw so much wildlife, including over 10 turtles, nudibranchs, and more. Highly recommend Dom—he’s knowledgeable, patient, and made our dive unforgettable!

i took my daughter (11 years old) for her first dive- we absolutely loved it! Logan was awesome, helped us both feely super comfortable and did a great job pointing out so much of the marine life- can't say enough great things about this experience and our guide! We hope to come back next year and get certified

Staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Dive master was excellent in leading tours through the various sites. One of the most fun dive trips I’ve had in Hawai’i.

We were thrilled with Dive Kauai! From initial inquiry to pre-dive briefing and right through the dive itself, the whole experience was wonderful. It was my sister's first dive and David made her feel safe and comfortable. He's a great communicator and a great instructor. Highly recommend! The rest of our group had done lots of dives before but this was one of our favourites. Only a small group of divers, lots of cool sea life to look at, and being a shore dive meant we didn't waste half the day getting to/from the dive site. Ideal! I also want to mention the outstanding customer service from Kevin when answering my initial email inquiry. He was very thorough and proactive in providing us the information we needed to make a decision, and really made us feel like valued customers. Mahalo Kevin!

The dives: GREAT. The customer service of this center left a lot to be desired and is what made me actually take the time to write this review -- you have other dive shops to choose from on the island so I hope that this information helps other divers who are trying to decide which one to spend money to dive with. About the dives: We completed our open water diver certification with Dive Kauai during our recent trip to Kauai and then we also booked two additional dives with them during our visit. The instructor and dive masters that we had were all very good. David Abbott was our instructor for completing certification and he was knowledgeable, patient, thorough, friendly, and professional as well as personable. The two dives that we booked were: a twilight and night dive, and then a south shore two-tank boat dive. We were able to see turtles, several octupuses, crabs, eels, all the different fish like triggers, butterfly fish, etc. The part that left us feeling really disappointed: We spent almost $4,000 with Dive Kauai for our certifications and the two different dive trips for our party of five. We also tipped every single instructor and guide that we had. Being charged $75 more for a light with a faulty strap, that turned off when it sank under water - this just left a really bad taste in my mouth and motivated me to write this up. During our night dive, one of our party of five dropped a dive light (for night dives, you receive a dive light each). I also dropped my light but thankfully it didn't turn off when it sank so I was able to find it quickly and then I had an elastic hair tie that I happened to have on my wrist, so I used that to secure the light to my wrist since my light strap was broken and not cinching -- there was no other way to make sure that the light was tied to your wrist if the strap was broken! The other party wasn't so lucky - his light sank and turned off so it was basically impossible to find because the place where you enter the water is from a shore ramp into water that isn't calm - there are surges of water as you try to walk in and put your fins on and hold onto a light that has no operational strap. Our guide replaced the light after trying to help look for it unsuccessfully. After completing the dive, I got two calls from the shop and then a charge of almost $75 for the dive light. I looked up the cost of dive lights similar to what we had online and the cost was as low as $14. Come on. That's just...uncool. Next time we're in Kauai, I think I'd go with the shop that our instructor back in SF recommended: Seasport. Not going to do this one again. And maybe have everyone make sure that they carry an elastic hairband on their wrists for those just in case moments.

It was a great experience! Avery was a very patient instructor! I would recommend this company/ experience and instructor! I’m definitely going on to be certified!

I was a bit hesitant to go alone but the whole experience was seamless and I felt extremely safe and well taken care of! David was extremely knowledgeable and very patient. Would definitely recommend.
