We were a family of 9 from 35-65 and each member loved it. Very close to town, but with a quick ride you are in the jungle. - Javawebdeveloper0 contributionsBetter than I could have ever imagined for my whole family! This activity was absolutely amazing and the team at Kōloa zipline made it awesome for our whole family. They have history from the filming of Jurassic Park movie that they explained in the short truck ride to the location. The best parts of zip lining with Koloa are: * it is for everyone and they limit the group to 12. Our family has 2 adults and 3 kids (10b, 13g, and 16g). We were joined by 2 couples in early 30s and 3 adults in late 60s and 70s. Everyone had a blast and was able to handle anything physically needed on the experience. The only bad part is a very short hike between 2 of the lines which everyone in our group handled just fine. * Our guides, Jr. and Carson, had the best personalities and sense of humor and made everyone comfortable. They should get a raise 🤙. * The break for water and granola bars (which were awesome) was near the top of the mountain with a beautiful view. * The staff at their main location and store were ever polite and made the whole experience smooth. * And of course the 50mph 1/2 mile line at the top to the bottom. For us, there was a group of horses running in one of the pastures we flew over. I also appreciated that while there was different styles you could do on some of the lines, there was no pressure to do any of them. I was there for the experience and stuck with the cruise and views sitting position the entire time and loved it The best part for me was seeing my kids have a blast together. If I ever made it back to Kauai, I’ll definitely take the family back there. 🌺🤙🌴 🌺🤙🌴 🌺🤙🌴Written October 5, 2024

Jinelle and Koa were our guides and they totally helped make the trip. They were informative & professional but they were also super chill, fun and encouraging. They gave us cool facts about the island and local land but also really good recommendations on the island. In fact half of us ended up at the nearby Musubi truck thanks to Jinelle’s rec lol. Guga and Sierra were the best guides we have ever encountered for an outdoor activity. They were consistent in their funny jokes and ensuring everyone felt comfortable and safe. They very supportive in everyone’s comfort level on how they wanted to go down the Zipline (sitting, flying or upside down!) and made the experience a million times better with their knowledge about the activity, the propert and the island. The Ziplines and gear were very well maintained and we felt 100% safe at all times. Thanks for an awesome experience. 100% recommend for you to try out the activity and catch a glimpse at the AMAZING views and property.

Our family of 5 (3 teenagers) was scheduled for a 12:45 zip line tour with Koloa Zipline. We were on pace to arrive at 12:45 – perfectly on time, when we received a call at 12:40 telling us that our tour had already departed. We were then informed that they had expected us to be there at 12:15. This was the first time that we had heard this. Our entire family was crushed, but especially our 14-year-old daughter, who had looked forward to this more than any other event during our Hawaii trip. They would not reschedule us before we had to depart Kauai, and no attempt at restitution was made. We were told they had left us a voicemail informing us of the arrival time, but this was never received. I combed through all information we had received in advance about the tour and nowhere did it tell us that we were supposed to be there 30 minutes before our tour time. This was a huge letdown for us, and somewhat ruined one of our days on Kawai. When we return next year, we will try again to do the zip line tour that we were so excited about, but next time it will definitely be with a different company.

Aloha Jenniferjaneandkids,
Due to the pandemic and this crazy past year, please forgive the lateness if this response.
First if all, i must iterate that for close to 10 years and 25,000 guests per year, we have had a standard 30 minute pre-tour check-in practice which is the norm in this industry.
We have had a strong history of success with this practice especially with when our guests book directly with us. There are some 3rd party companies that advertise cheaper prices and sometimes the information passed on to guests are insufficient and/or out of date. I am personally uncertain of how you booked your tour, however, i am certain that our CSRs did in fact call the number associated with your booking confirmation number the night before your tour to pass on any last minute information.
We also do our best to reschedule our guests as best as possible. I must at this point assume we were fully booked up without space available to accommodate your group before you returned home.
When you book your future tours (with other companies) i would like to urge you to verify who you are booking with and the correct contact information has been recorded.
I hope your family gets the zipline experience they so greatly want.

My husband and I thought this activity was our favorite experience during our month stay in Kauai. We are both 71 and had never been on a zip line course. Our guides: Elijah, Sean, Nathan were fabulous. They were very encouraging, made us feel safe, but encouraged us to push ourselves. They had fun loving spirits and told corny jokes. We would definitely recommend Koloa Zipline!

What an incredible, memorable experience! An eight-line zipline course may sound intimidating initially, but your confidence builds after each successive line. Our tour guides, Keppa and Kyla (not sure how to spell their names correctly) were superlative. They were very informative, friendly, and paid attention to safety protocols while still providing a relaxing environment. There were a total of 12 zipliners in our group, and while we were pretty shy and quiet at the beginning, the bonding experience of going through the ziplines made us more friendly and talkative towards each other. The tour includes water and juice, which was greatly appreciated after a particularly steep but short hike to one of the line towers. The views from the various lines were spectacular, and the thrill of flying through the air in the lush and verdant forests of Kauai cannot be put into words. Reserve your spot NOW for this wonderful experience.

My family and our friends family vacationed as a group. Ziplining was the one activities all 7 teenagers between the two families were most excited to do and this course and our guides exceeded all our expectations. Tim and Stephen were our guides. They were great! They were methodical in ensuring our safety, made everyone feel very comfortable and were very engaging. We did the 8 line course and through the sprinkles and the sun, EVERY teenager enjoyed themselves! (For anyone who has traveled with 7 teenagers, you know that can be quite a task!). Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiitng Kauai!

I figured that at the age of 72 I'd better try ziplining while I can still do it. And I'm glad I did. I chose Koloa Zipline while staying in Poipu based on a recommendation and research, and wasn't disappointed.
My group had nine people (I was the only single due to my wife's bad back). Guides Payton and Becka seemed to have had as good a time as we did.
We had a safety presentation and demo of how the harness is attached to the cable pulley. They were safety conscious along the way, pointing out potential issues we might have but not to the point of taking away the fun. An example is noting that there was a strong tailwind on the last (longest) line and to watch for the hand signal to slow down if we seemed to be coming in to the landing too fast.
We weren't rushed. There was a water (bottled) break after the steepest trail climb and another with soft drinks and granola bars before the last line.
I'd highly recommend it for anyone of any age who wants to try it out.

What an awesome adventure. Our guides Britton and Pomaile were funny and entertaining the entire trip. My wife and I were a little afraid on the first zip, but we were flying on the last few zips hands free. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Kauai. I picked Koloa for my first zipline experience because they had the custom heavy duty rigs that looked far superior to the other rigs from other companies.
Tip1. Bring a waterproof camera/phone holder that you can secure to your wrist. This way you can film while on the zip without dropping your phone.
Tip2 Bring a light windbreaker / rain jacket and put it on before the harness if it looks like its going to rain. You wont be able to put anything on later after your harness is on.
Tip3 Harness will be in the way of a backpack, so if you need to bring anything carry it in a fanny pack type bag that you can rotate over your hip.
Tip4 Put on your sunscreen in advance because you will be having too much fun to put it on later.
Tip5 There are 2 breaks during the 3 hour trip. First break is after a couple zips is about 5 minutes with a small bottle of water. Second break is after the 6th zip and is closer to 15 minutes with water, fruit juices and a sweet granola bar. Keep that in mind if you are diabetic.
Tip6 There is one long hike up a hill. There are steps going up the hill and there is plenty of time to get up the hill so you can pace yourself. My wife and I are in our 60's and we had to stop a few times to catch our breath, but we made it, and it was worth it.

Our family of 4 (including 2 children, ages 12 and 7) loved our time with Koloa Zipline. I read great reviews of Koloa and our concierge at the Grand Hyatt recommended them as well, and we were not disappointed. Our guides were fun and helped keep thing loose for our entire group of 12, which was comprised of 2 other families and included a couple nervous first-timers. The runs were unique in that some enabled us to fly "Superman"-style, which I highly recommend since you feel like you're actually flying! Our kids had to ride tandem on a couple of the longer runs in order to not risk getting stuck due to their lighter weights, but that was also fun for them. You get some breathtaking views of the canopy over a beautiful reservoir and the whole experience was very fun. Highly recommended!

Super great ziplining. 8 ziplines went by in a flash and the views of the Waita Reservoir were gorgeous the entire time. Our guides were personable and funny and clear about how to zip safely. They even got my mom, who I was sure was going to chicken out, to fly Superman style. I greatly recommend the upside down if you're looking for a unique ziplining experience in the lovely jungles of Kauai.

This experience was absolutely amazing. We traveled May 2021, 8 people (4 adults, 3 teens 17-20, and a 9 year old). Half of us were afraid of heights but after the first line, we were all having the time of our lives and wished we could do it all again. The value is amazing, you get 8 zip lines in the course ranging from quick up to one that is half a mile long!
There is some hiking involved, so be prepared to climb some steps, but it’s not too bad and they provide water after the 4th line and a rest with juice and water after the 6th. No bathrooms once you get to the course though, so go at the gear base before you set out. You MUST have close toed shoes so come prepared. Highly recommend a go pro, although I got some amazing footage with my iPhone and popsocket. Sunscreen and bug spray are a plus, although we didn’t seem to have many bug issues.
Our guides were Stephen and Shaun and they were just wonderful. Stephen was very entertaining and great with my whole family and Shaun was so friendly and had a lot of great recommendations for the island and had some cool island movie trivia to share.

The end of the zip line had a stopper and there is an attendant at the end to manually slow you down and help stop you. They also show you different movements to do to stop you.

One of our family members has a SIGNIFICANT fear of heights. While we have bought them a ticket, what happens if they change their mind once we get there? Is there someplace for them to wait while the rest of our party goes ziplining?
Written March 24, 2022
They do have picnic tables at the gear spot. Once you head to the course, a car is the only way back to the gear space. The first zipline is very simple to help those with fears. If they can adjust to this sensation, they should be able to get through it. There is the option to go tandem. This also helps them with fears.
