This was our third time doing this Zipline tour. Koloa Zipline never disappoints. The guides were wonderful- Stephen and Ben both had a great sense of humor and a great attitude, but they also made us feel very safe. We were zipping with my 75 year old mother and our 63 year old nanny, and they felt perfectly safe and taken care of. I would highly recommend Koloa Zipline for anyone looking to try this activity. All the lines are fun and exciting, but the last line (which is nearly 1/2 mile long) is absolutely spectacular, going over a reservoir, over horse pasture and between tall trees. You can't beat the view on that one. We did a 3 PM tour which had us finishing up near sunset- that was a particularly beautiful time of day. Bring bug spray and a good attitude (and cash for tips- I know these guys appreciate it), and you will have an amazing time!

Cayman and Bryson did a good job of introducing our group to ziplining, and made sure we were securely fastened and ended each zipline ride safely. The views alone are worth the experience, and the ziplining is a hoot. Even my 82-year old spouse was glad he did it! There is a maybe 400 feet hike steepish incline that we paused a couple of times on, which was not a problem. And yes, there was some rain, but not anything that stopped us from enjoying the trip.

We took the 3PM tour, which towards the end, resulted in some breathtaking "golden hour" photos. Our group of 12 from all over the world encouraged each other, which made for an even more fun experience. Really glad we took a Koloa Zipline!

What an awesome adventure. Our guides Britton and Pomaile were funny and entertaining the entire trip. My wife and I were a little afraid on the first zip, but we were flying on the last few zips hands free. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Kauai. I picked Koloa for my first zipline experience because they had the custom heavy duty rigs that looked far superior to the other rigs from other companies.
Tip1. Bring a waterproof camera/phone holder that you can secure to your wrist. This way you can film while on the zip without dropping your phone.
Tip2 Bring a light windbreaker / rain jacket and put it on before the harness if it looks like its going to rain. You wont be able to put anything on later after your harness is on.
Tip3 Harness will be in the way of a backpack, so if you need to bring anything carry it in a fanny pack type bag that you can rotate over your hip.
Tip4 Put on your sunscreen in advance because you will be having too much fun to put it on later.
Tip5 There are 2 breaks during the 3 hour trip. First break is after a couple zips is about 5 minutes with a small bottle of water. Second break is after the 6th zip and is closer to 15 minutes with water, fruit juices and a sweet granola bar. Keep that in mind if you are diabetic.
Tip6 There is one long hike up a hill. There are steps going up the hill and there is plenty of time to get up the hill so you can pace yourself. My wife and I are in our 60's and we had to stop a few times to catch our breath, but we made it, and it was worth it.

Super great ziplining. 8 ziplines went by in a flash and the views of the Waita Reservoir were gorgeous the entire time. Our guides were personable and funny and clear about how to zip safely. They even got my mom, who I was sure was going to chicken out, to fly Superman style. I greatly recommend the upside down if you're looking for a unique ziplining experience in the lovely jungles of Kauai.

My 18 year old grandson, 16 year old granddaughter and I (nearly 70) had a phenomenal time zip lining. The ones who assisted us, Callie and Makenna (sp??) were very patient and guided us through each line. Callie made me aware ahead of time of a very difficult path that was coming up and made sure I was able to get to the next line. It was a little hard for everyone and we were all winded and grateful for a place to sit at the top to rest for a minute. Both of them pointed out places and points of interest to us. I can't say enough about the quality of this zip lining business!

My husband, my 7 year old daughter and I were here last week during our vacation. It was my daughter's first time ziplining so I was afraid that she'd get on the platform, get scared, and back out. Luckily our guides, Guga and Sierra, were very friendly and outgoing, making her feel at ease. She was the only child in our group and they made her feel like a VIP. She had to go tandem on 6 out of the 8 lines and although she went with me once, she wanted to go with our guides for the other lines.

The lines were really fun and I highly recommend the "fly" position a la Superman at least once. It is really fun and you feel like a bird. I wear contact lenses, so the first time I went in that position, I was afraid my contacts might pop out but I learned to adjust on the future lines. I think the scariest part for me was standing on the platform while getting hooked up by the guides. I'm short so when they were hooking me up for the fly position, I was told to get on my tip toes, while bending over, while standing at the edge of the platform looking out!

Before booking the tour, I read that there's a snack which consists of a granola bar. My first thought was "that's IT"? Ha! The granola bar and juice was actually perfect because you don't want to be eating heavy while hiking and ziplining.

The mosquitos are vicious out there! I got bitten about 7 times on my legs even though I was wearing pants and had a repellent bracelet on (maybe they just don't work too well). Other people were getting bit on their face because that's the one area they forgot to spray.

I enjoyed Guga's humor and his knowledge of nature and the island. He showed my daughter a cool little plant that curls up at the slightest touch. He also offered to give us recs on good eats if we gave him our email address, since he's also a chef.

Sierra was sweet and nurturing to my daughter and made her feel comfortable. My daughter was bummed when it was all over.

I loved the fact that the guides take pics of you and you're able to view and upload them for free. They should have a third guide come along just for picture taking because I feel like between getting everyone hooked up and roped in, sometimes they forget to take pics or don't have time.

Once you book a tour, the instructions state that T-shirts and not tank tops, are recommended. I called and found out this is to prevent possible chafing on the shoulders, due to the harness. Since I didn't book the tour until we got to the island and I didn't pack a T-shirt, I ended up going in a tank top. I didn't have any problems, or chafing at all so don't worry about it if you wear a tank top

This is probably the absolute most fun I’ve ever had with my legs in the air and my clothes on. Our tour guides CJ and Kaeden were awesome, fun and full of fun facts about the island. Our group was 11 people total and they learned all of our names and made it special for each of us cheering us all on with each zip line. Be warned it’s not for the faint of heart. You are pretty high off the ground on some of the lines and you skim tree tops with your feet. Some of the short lines you are in the air for Maybe 8-10 seconds but the best and last one was almost a minute long ride and such a beautiful view of the water and mountains around you. There is mostly short hikes from the landing pad of one to the launch pad of the next (think golf course set up) but there is one hike that they tell you is a mile long but is really about 200 ft but it’s pretty steep. But they give you some bottled water at the top and at the second to last line you get a snack bar and juice drink. So all in all best money I’ve ever spent on a family activity.

This was a wonderful way to start our day! The staff are friendly and efficient, the property is just gorgeous and each line is exciting and such a fun adrenaline rush. Raphey and Kelsin were our guides and they were phenomenal hosts; they kept us very safe and shared so much knowledge about their island and home. They made us feel very welcome and we so enjoyed the stories and life-lessons learned from their grandparents and parents. They taught us about all the plants as we made our way through the zipline course in the forest; I love knowing what's what now as I'm driving or walking in Kauai!
And the ziplines! Woo! Fast and fun and spectacular views! My son isn't a fan of heights but even he had a blast and said he would definitely go again.
My advice: book early because these guys are good and they sell out. Chiiiii hooooooo!

Our family of four enjoyed this zip line experience yesterday (children age 11 and 15). Rafi & Peyton were amazing guides! Our children were pretty fearless, but this mom was a little hesitant. The guides did a GREAT job making this out of shape middle aged mom feel comfortable. This activity was a bit outside my comfort zone but they took their time to be sure I was good to go. We all felt safe and had a great time. The guides were also really informative about the local landscape, restaurant suggestions, etc! I’d highly recommend this activity to anyone thinking about zip lining in Kauai!

I went on the Koloa zip line experience with my son and wife. It was my first time doing zip line, but I have never been afraid of heights or speed. The tour consists of eight runs of various heights and lengths. Our two guides were Khayman and Steven. Both were great guys who were very knowledgeable in the tour and safety precautions for guests/participants. On the trip from the sugar mill to the mountain they became familiar with each of us and as we went thru each of the eight runs they know us by name and put everyone at ease if they had any concerns. Our day was wonderful and the length of the runs and height increased progressively during our tour, with the last runs being the best experience. There is some hiking between runs, so wear comfortable shoes. I zipped siting in the traditional way but also (after some urging from Khayman) did several runs head first (Superman style). It was exciting and the scenery and experience was the best part of my 25 day visit to the Islands. A special shout out to Khayman who was funny, supportive and helped make me enjoy the tour more than I could have ever imagined. If you are on Kauai, you gotta try this tour.
