This is not a typical tour where you just get a bunch of random facts. This is an in depth discussion on all things coffee, chocolate, soap, and anything else that you want to know about the farm and area. Our tour guide Greg, owner, wants you to feel like family and be at home. We were served cookies and chocolate with our coffee and even tasted raw cacao! This is an intimate experience and you can’t beat the price for all that you learn.

This is a great tour and company. The owners and workers spread ohana. I have done a lot of coffee plantations and this is not the biggest or the smallest. It has a great mix of products and they are all local. We how did the tour on Thursday are not supposed to tell anyone that after 2 shots Greg does a full Vegas show, ha ha ha ha.

After having attended seven or eight of Greg's lectures and descriptions with various guests over the past 12 years, I have watched as the lectures become more interesting, professional, and knowledgeable. Oh..and funny. An hour or so (depending on interest and questions from the audience) of strolling around the flora and fauna and hearing about biosystems sounds boring, but seeing, feeling, holding coffee flowers, pods, beans; chocolate flowers, pods, beans, and various plants that go into soap making is actually always interesting! Is it worth $25 each time? Let's just say this experience is what everyone who visits with me remembers and wants to repeat, and the answer is no..it is worth far more.

The tour was 3 hours long at a cost of $25. Greg, our guide and co-owner for the farm, is very passionate about his property and his products, natural soap, coffee and chocolate and kept us entertained the whole time. Questions were welcome at anytime and we were able to sample all products. This tour was a favorite of the week.

My family really enjoyed this tour. We are a family of 5 with 3 kids ranging from 5 to 15. There is something to capture the interest of everyone, and even my 5 year old enjoyed the nearly 3 hours spent at the farm. Greg, the owner/founder of the farm was a wealth of knowledge and extremely passionate about what he does. We all learned a lot about how coffee, chocolate and his soaps are made. Greg also makes his own pottery and sells mugs, etc in the gift shop. Highly recommend this tour - you won’t regret it.

What a great tour! Yes, the Kona Natural Soap Company is the site of the tour, but the company is located on a farm that produces both coffee and chocolate. Owner Greg Colden explained that the farm is located on an old quarry and that he had hand-planted all the plants and trees we saw. His farm is a wonderful example of natural sustainable farming without pesticides or herbicides. We learned more about the production of chocolate (his is award winning) and coffee than we could have imagined. He then went into describing the production of his natural soap. He has a shop at the farm where all the company's products can be purchased, including
Greg's line of hand made pottery. The company also has a stand at the Ali'i Gardens Marketplace. All in all a great way to spend a morning on the Big Island.

PS: the samples of chocolate and coffee were so good we bought some to bring home to the mainland. Unfortunately most were consumed before we left Hawaii. Guess that is what websites are for... We have used the soap and it is wonderful!

We enjoyed the tour of this farm, learning about the farming and production of coffee, chocolate, and soap. Greg is very passionate about his farm, and he and his staff did a great job. We purchased Kona coffee, chocolate, and soap, so they did a good job selling the products, too.

What a great experience. This was one of the best tours I’ve ever taken. The knowledge of Greg and his staff was amazing. We took advantage of the gift shop at the end of the tour. They are presently only offering this 3 hour tour on Thursday morning so plan accordingly.

We discovered Kona Soaps at the Ali'i Gardens Marketplace years ago. We have been ordering the soaps for years. The soap is wonderful. Knowing we were going back to Kona, we booked a tour . Greg mentioned on our last visit, that this once a week tour sells out in advance. Book now!

To experience Greg's farm, the attention to detail of his products, his team that puts it all together. It was special and wonderful. The epitome of shopping local and supporting a small business where everything is created with care and attention to detail.

Everything is hand crafted with quality ingredients. The chocolate is the best you could ever taste. The coffee is amazing. The packaging, the care, the local connections to create soap, coffee and chocolate-it's like being part of a family of local artisans. It is truly the best tour you could experience if you only had one tour to do. The tour is like being a guest at one's home. You see the gardens, the trees, the cocoa beans, take in the extraordinary scents of real ingredients, learning about what quality is and the work that goes into creating a quality product.

This tour is wonderful.

Was blown away by this tour! I learned so much about the plants and agriculture in Kona. Had some of the most delicious chocolate and coffee I’ve ever tasted. There’s also a wonderful soap making element to the tour where you learn about that process and how certain seeds and essential oils can benefit your skin. Additionally I was able to purchase some beautiful handmade coffee and tea mugs in the gift shop that the owner makes himself. Would recommend this tour to anyone looking for something to do while visiting the island.
