      Absolutely Amazing!
The best ocean day cruise ever! Our family had such a great time. The crew were all very friendly and knowledgeable and engaging. Calum was especially great to talk to. We enjoyed swimming around on all the floaty toys, snorkeling, going down the water slide and jumping off the second story. It was a beautiful day with spectacular views and saw Piilot Whales and an Oceanic Whitetip Shark very up close! The crew all jumped in to swim with it and then let us have some of the video clips they recorded of it. Such an awesome day and cruise. We feel so grateful to have had this experience as a family. Thank you Body Glove and crew!

Amazing 60th birthday celebration with friends
Seven of us booked the dinner cruise and it did not disappoint! We saw dolphins, whales, sharks, and even a double rainbow. The food was fantastic. The crew was very fun. There were some of us dancing at the end. The cocktails were not weak and tasted great! It made for a magical birthday experience!

      The Crew is Great!
Our second time out with Body Glove. Both times have been great. First time was last year with nephews and nieces. The crew was great with the kids. This time was with elderly parents. Dad jumped off the side but inhaled a bunch of water. The crew helped get back on board and made sure he was okay. Good snorkeling. Great lunch.

Body Glove Snorkeling: fun for the entire family
From the time we boarded the vessel to the moment we stepped foot back on the pier the captain and crew made the day special for all. The weather was perfect and the cruising was smooth all the way to what felt like a secluded snorkeling point exclusive to our group. Brunch and lunch were simple yet sweet with nothing too heavy. The on board bar was nice with plenty of delicious cocktails with great prices. The crew also acted as servers and were very present and attentive. Body glove provided plenty of ways to have fun in the water. Snorkels, fins, paddle boards, a bridge of rafts that led to a giant floating island to relax on, special boards for the little kids to float on with windows to allow them to sea the reef and fish beneath them. The only downside was that the fun eventually had to end. Also, having nothing to do with the services provided, but people suck. We had a family that seemed to ignore all the rules and just didn’t seem to care. From dropping oars into the reef and mentioning nothing about it to leaving pool noodles to drift away only to lie about them using it when the crew asked them to retrieve the noodle they were planning on leaving behind.

      Best Staff by Far!!
The staff at Body Glove are fun to be around and create a positive and safe atmosphere for everyone to enjoy themselves!! We are repeat customers and find the crews out of Kona to be the best. Our visits to other island cruises have been not near as enjoyable. We look forward to more cruises each time we visit Kona!!! (sadly we didn’t write down everyone’s name on shift, but we enjoyed our trip Monday 11/25 and thought EVERY single staff member was amazing!!!)

      Sunset Historical Cruise - Terrific!
What a great cruise and a great evening. We had excellent weather for our cruise and that made it even more enjoyable. The historical guide did a great job telling us about the island and its history. The crew was fantastic and helpful and the dinner food was very tasty and plentiful. We even had an extra treat and got to see a school of dolphins on our way back to port. An excellent evening all around, thank you, Body Glove. Would absolutely recommend!

Memorable Dinner Cruise with a bonus.
We enjoyed every bit of our dinner cruise. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The 3 course meal was wonderful, especially the salad. We enjoyed learning some history about the island, and of course the beautiful sunset was breathtaking! We also had an opportunity to see several dolphins which was a pleasant surprise!

      Great value for the experience
Amazing view of the island and sunset, smooth ride, great live music, the service was excellent, and the meal was surprisingly delicious. We were on the island for a week, and it was one of the better meals we had. You could easily spend close to $100 to get a similar meal with a drink at some of the local restaurants, so this trip was well worth the money

      Awesome Sunset Dinner Cruise
What a great evening in The Body Glove Historical Dinner Cruise. The service was great, the entire staff did a great job. The cruise is waiting staff service for the drinks and meals (you can still go to the bar :-) ). The food was excellent. They did a really good job of balancing the historical information with live music. I like to do sunset cruises and this is a good as it gets.

      Recommend this dinner sunset cruise!
Amazing views, spirited music & dancing 💃, Hawaiian history, delicious tender short ribs meal, time with our oldest friends (since 1st grade!) celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary ... priceless! For anyone who KNOWS they get seasick ... reminder that the ocean can be unpredictable & rock up & down, as it did on our voyage. For some, it was simply part of their Adventure. For you others ... Bring motion sickness medication in case!

Wow! I am a resident of Kona and I have watched whales all over (Juneau Alaska, Stellwagan Bank off of Cape Cod, Mexico, and Maui...) and this was in the top three whale watches I've been on.

First, the boat was clean. The naturalist was excellent (great job, Kim!) And did we see whales! We stayed with a mother and new calf and an escort male for awhile. The baby had to breathe a lot, so we had many sightings of this cute little whale.

Suddenly tons of bottlenose dolphins (babies!!!) came out of no where and the baby whale started to play with them, slapping his tail and breaching, and acting like a dolphin! Wow! The dolphins were playing around the boat. Then more whales showed up. It was hard to know where to look. Amazing!

This is not a typical whale watch, so we really lucked out.

Still, we live here, and we've been seeing whales for weeks in this area (from shore) so the captain did know where to go. He was very respectful not to get too close to the animals, which I so appreciate. We were still close enough for great sightings all day long.

We got free soft drinks and water (wish the guys had come around a time or two more, but that's my only suggestion for improvement).

Seriously, we live here, and we talked to many people, and the majority said, "Body Glove." If you don't see any whales, you get to come back. And you get discounts on return trips.

We are glad we chose them for this awesome Christmas present that my son gave us.He was so happy that we had a great time. They also do a sunset cruise and other trips, so check into their offerings. Thanks again, Body Glove! We will be back. Aloha!

Aloha jennkmac, What a wonderful and detailed review! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this for others to read! We hope everyone would be able to walk away with similar experiences, but I can see how unique and amazing your trip was! I find that having someone who lives here give an account of what they can expect on our cruise to be in depth. You have probably been on a lot of whale watches on the Big Island (as well as the others you have mentioned), so to be considered in the top three is truly high praise for us! We are glad that you were able to have such an amazing experience. I will go ahead and pass along your recommendation to see if we can have the crew make more rounds! Our goal is to create an amazing experience and our service has always been at the front of that! We hope to see you again soon! Mahalo, Derek Williams @ Body Glove Adventures

We've been on many whale watching tours and this tour was hands down the best. We stopped the boat to watch when we saw the first blow plume and were soon surrounded by whales. They frolicked all around the boat for over an hour. They came so close to the boat we could feel the need mist when they exhaled. Truly amazing!!

The staff on the boat was also wonderful. Dennis, the naturalist, was informative and answered all our questions. The captain put a hydro phone in the water so we could here the whales sing. This was a peak experience! Thank you Bodyglove and everyone who made the experience unforgettable.

Aloha Katie, Thank you for joining us on the Whale Watch Excursion! We always try to maintain a safe and respectful distance from the whales while they are joining us in Hawai'u during their migratory period. However, if they come over to say hello then all we can do is stand by and let them! It sounds like they put on quite the show for you guys! What an amazing experience! We hope to see you again in the future! Mahalo, Derek Williams @ Body Glove Adventures

We booked a late season (mid March) whale watching tour with Body Glove. I fully prepared my family of 6 that this might just be a 2.5 hour boat ride with amazing offshore views of the Big Island with some colorful and educational commentary. We certainly got both of those, but we also got to see a mama and baby humpback. The mom surfaced a few times, but the the baby was so active. It partially breached, we got amazing photos and videos even with our cell phones. The captain has to stay 100 yards away from the whales, but the whales are allowed to come closer to the boat if they choose.

We generally avoid crowds and spend a lot of time hiking and visiting various beaches, but this was worth the time and money and it was a once in a lifetime experience that my family and I will never forget.

The boat was comfortable. Easy to move around. The crew was very accommodating. They provide water, juices, full bar, light snacks, and reef safe sunscreen. Also, if you tour with Body Glove once, you receive additional discounts on future "trips" with them during your stay.

I would highly recommend this activity, but you should be OK with not seeing whales, especially if you go late in the season. I would have enjoyed the cruise if we didn't see any whales, but seeing them was truly unbelievable.

We live near Pahoa (Puna) and decided to splurge on a Whale Watching Tour.
There are so many companies to choose from, but a friend recommended Body Glove. What a great choice! We were out for about 2.5 hours. The boat is very comfortable and spacious. There's a wonderful spread with fresh fruit, snack mix, hummus and assorted beverages. There's also a cash bar!
2 words:Piña Colada! The crew was incredible! They even had a Naturalist that was very engaging and informative. We learned a lot about humpbacks and most other ocean denizens...

And then there were the whales!
We spotted a mother and calf within the first 15 minutes of our tour.
We were able to stay in their vicinity for the whole time. We saw a few other whales at a distance, but the mom and her baby were amazing!
For the last hour they consistently breached, flapped their tails and the mom did a fancy waving maneuver!

What a Wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Aloha Tanya, Thank you so much for the Whale Watch Excursion! Our crew, including the Naturalist, go above and beyond to ensure that everyone has an amazing time on board! Firstly I made and error and booked the wrong day. We showed up, apologized for our error and would have completely understood had they told us they couldn’t accommodate us but they did! Then we had an amazing afternoon where we were treated to a momma humpback and her baby swimming around us the entire time. The staff are very knowledgable. On our way back in to port we had even more good luck by being treated to some spinner dolphins swimming in front of our boat doing their acrobatics. A great afternoon.

They kept chasing one whale calf for 2.5 hours!! So basically it went underwater for 20 minutes and came back to show a tiny part of tail for 2-3 seconds. Repeated that for the whole 2.5 hours That’s it. Didn’t even try to search for any other whale for the rest of the time. I know it’s difficult to have a whale sighting sometimes but could have made an effort. We went Snorkling with another group and saw many whales without even trying. It seemed they tried to save on gas as they hardly went couple of miles from the shore. If we are paying $105 per person that’s not worth it. Please don’t get me started with the ‘snacks’ served. Overall pretty bad experience and was sooo boring!!!!! Wish I can get even half my money back.

Aloha parangatmukul, We are compelled to respond with a bit of history about our Whale Watching experience. Body Glove Cruises has been offering Whale Watching adventures for over 30 years. We have always had a naturalist on board, an underwater hydrophone and a wonderful crew. Snacks are provided as well as complimentary coffee, tea, soda, water and juice. Cocktails have always been available for purchase. Behind the scenes we have a network of fellow boaters and land spotters that help steer us in the direction of whale sightings. The one variable that we have absolutely no control over is our spectacular seasonal visitors the Humpback Whales. Due to their unpredictability we even offer a guarantee to see whales or come again for free. If we have a whale in our sights, their actions are completely unpredictable. Sometimes whales are super active and sometimes they are not; their behavior is beyond our control. Our records show that we had an on-time departure, our crew was professional and prepared, our naturalist was present and our underwater hydrophone was in place. Our snack was a Caprese Salad with toasted crostini with house made balsamic dressing. Our two million dollar 65' foot vessel was in perfect working order and safely operating. We endeavor to provide our guests with the excellent amenities and service. It is unfortunate parangatmukul that you found your experience to be pretty bad and so boring. While we are always open to improving our operations when possible in this case we cannot see where that is possible. We wish you all the best!

Had a very nice trip with Body Glove. The crew and naturalist guide were friendly, knowledgeable and good at their jobs. They pretty quickly located three whales which we trailed at the appropriate distance for a couple of hours. One male, one female adult and a baby.

You are kept at quite a distance, maybe 100yards?, as required. You can see just enough detail of the whales to make it interesting. We saw the adults surface and dive, sending their tail fins up out of the water several times.

The two of us really enjoyed it and would recommend it. If you’re taking young kids just be aware that there is a lot of waiting time in between very short sightings. That’s just the way it is with whales, who dive and stay under the surface for at least 15 minutes each time.

We had a great experience on the dolphin and whale watching excursion. The boat was great - clean, comfortable - and the hardworking crew was fantastic. Try a Blue Hawaii from the bar. The naturalist onboard provided just the right amount of commentary and information about the whales. And yes, we saw quite a few, as well as spinner dolphins swimming right alongside the boat! This cruise comes with a guarantee - if you do not see any whales during your trip, you can return again for free. Judging from what we saw, I doubt they have to invoke this much! The Body Glove retail shop where you check in for the cruise has alot of great snorkel and beach gear as well. I would book a snorkeling trip with them the next time. Top notch tour operator.
