This tour was great. Hannibal our tour leader was great and funny. The volcano caldron has some smoke/steam but no lava. The weather cleared a bit when we were at the top. The underground lava tunnel was pretty cool. Rainbow Falls was pretty but not what I expected. Bring a light jacket or rain poncho.

This was an awesome way to explore Hawaii. Ellen Silvestre was THE BEST tour guide ever. She was so knowledgeable and was such a joy to spend the day with! She truly took care of us. We could tell how much she loves Hawaii and how much she wanted to make sure we got to see and learn as much as we could!! I highly recommend this tour, and for anyone who gets Ellen as their tour guide, they are truly in for a treat!!

Must-do experience on the Big Island! Trevor and crew were skilled in their handling of the boat and equipment, and friendly in their demeanor. Have never experienced anything like the manta rays swimming inches away! One heads up- be thoughtful about what you eat beforehand and take Dramamine- we had pretty rough conditions for our tour and lots of people were sea sick.

Ernie, our tour guide was the greatest. Decent time allowed at all stops. Very informative. Exciting as the Volcano erupted on Sept 10th and as of Sept 13th still active. We were able to watch the lava rise and fall. Best part picked up at 9:45 am vs the normal 7am for most tours. I highly recommend this tour and hopefully you'll luck out and get Ernie as your tour guide.

The tour guide overpacked the bus, stuffing 5 people, including 3 of the biggest guys on the bus into the bench seat in the back, making for a very uncomfortable tour. When we tried to move around to redistribute things to be more comfortable, the tour guide called us out in front of the rest of the group for taking people's seats. What is this, elementary school? So I got to ride around in a horribly uncomfortable seat with a bunch of grumpy Boomers giving me side-eye all day. The tour guide, already under my skin for setting us up for miserable experience, was also annoying with her singsongy delivery and tendency to say a whole lot of nothing. The tour stops in too many places too, honestly. Let's stop 5 minutes in and get off for 20 minutes. Then let's drive 10 minutes and get off for 15. Now let's drive 15 minutes and get off for another 20 minutes. Over and over again. It was like 7 or 8 stops. If it had been a comfortable ride and a bus that was easy to get on and off of, it wouldn't be a big deal. But the whole day was just getting on and off this small, overpacked bus. I would not recommend this tour. Pick a different tour company with nicer buses and pick a tour that focuses on like 3-4 stops and gives you plenty of time at each spot. This one should've been (1) black sand beach, and maybe the Japanese garden (2) volcanoes (3) lava tube, with one stop at each.

Gorgeous views! Felix went out of his way to show us everything. So knowledgeable about the Volcano National Park, the landscape and Hawai’i. Great narration, wonderful sense of humor. And the stop at the candy factory on our way back was the perfect ending!

The tour started out almost one hour late because of a passenger who had a allergy to a other passengers perfume causing the delay. The driver did a excellent job in handling the issue. It was a very good tour the guide answered all questions that were asked of him. He did a excellent job of keeping us on schedule. Where we stopped for lunch was awesome.

This is a wonderful tour! Our tour guide Donna was excellent! So friendly and informative! Highly recommend this experience! We loved every minute!

Highly highly recommend! It was an amazing experience! Our guides Kris and Buddha made sure we not only saw mantas, but that they came up close and personal and stayed around our area. There are lots of tour groups out but we had about 5 mantas all at once hanging out around us. Also it’s a smaller group (only had 10 people on our tour) so the mantas stick around longer.

Hannibal was knowledgeable, personable, and engaging. He never hesitated to answer a question or offer to take our picture. We all had a great time!

We really enjoyed our tour with Mamaki, he was so knowledgable! The bus was clean and comfortable, there was about 25 people all together. We were told we could eat our lunches on the bus or wait until we arrived at Volcano Nat'l Park. But as it turned out, eating in the park cut into our time allowed in the park which disappointed me. Other than that it was wonderful tour, and cheaper than going through the cruise ship.

Amazing tour! Organized through Viatour. Super knowledgeable tour guide, I wish I could remember his name! This was a full day tour with several stops around Hilo. Amazing access to Volcano National Park! Saw Rainbow Falls, Black Sand Beach and ended and delicious Big Island Candies! Had so much fun!
