About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- randym320 contributionsTegulpicalpa - a transportation hub abd thats about all.Tegulpigalpa is the capital city of Honduras with population of approximately 3 million. A noisy city, typical of all large Central American big cities. The is very little USA, North American influence here in terms of big box stores, food chains. It is near impossible to get US dollars here from a credit card, nothing much in term of shopping. The surrounding area is dappled with foothills nad there are some national parks nearby. Hotels vary dramatically in price. The mainland Honduras is quite dry and arrid for most of the year so its relatively void of wildlife except on top of the big foothills.Written February 28, 2024

- 18kellid0 contributionsGood overview of downtown TegucigalpaOur guide Stephanie was the best part of the tour- she was both informed and warm. The MiN and the Garifuna cultural center were very interesting as well.Written November 20, 2019
- Christopher V0 contributionsExcellent Day TripTook this day trip with La Tigra tours while in Tegucigalpa and enjoyed every minute of it. Wear a swimsuit so you do not have to change and a shirt that can get wet. It is highly advised you wear water booties to help with traction against the submerged rocks as you make your way to the 7th section of this river. We only made it to the 5th because of excess water but it is well worth it as there is almost no one present after the first three sections.Written October 7, 2019
- Christopher V0 contributionsThree Days of ToursI was with La Tigra tours for my entire three days in Tegucigalpa - the city tour, the night vista tour, and La Tigra-El Picacho Park & Nueva Armenia. All the tours were excellent and I could not have better things to say. They were all reasonably priced, well organized and amenable to changes-additions as needed because of timing or weather. Would highly recommend using this tour operator. It is a shame not more tourists come to Tegucigalpa as there is a lot to see here, and yes it is safe...just be smart.Written October 6, 2019
- Stacybelney0 contributionsGreat day trip! The trip to Nueva Armenia was an excellent day trip. We took an easy hike along the turquoise blue river and jumped in at two different spots. The water was refreshing and the scenery was beautiful. It was also nice to do a little walk around the town. Hernan was an excellent guide, very friendly and easy to talk to. I also did the night tour to El Picacho and the views were great!Written April 28, 2019

- Sarah B0 contributionsExcellent!!!We did the tours to la tigra, neuva Armenia and Valle De Angeles. All of these trips were amazing! The tour guide was very nice and helpful. They were also flexible for us with the times of the trips. All of the destinations were beautiful and looked exactly like in the pictures (or even better!).Written September 2, 2018
- favelalove0 contributionsGreat Company, Great PeopleAfter looking for "things to do" near me, I stumbled across La Tigra tours and booked the La Tigra Park and Picacho trip online two days in advance. A day before the tour, I was contacted by Hernan. He gave me all the important information for the trip and was even flexible on the pick-up time. He arrived promptly and introduced himself as well as his business partner, Margarita and the other person taking the tour. There was a race that morning so many streets were blocked or delayed. Hernan quickly detoured to a different route to avoid the traffic and we were on our way. When we arrived to the park, we were showed the restrooms while he took care of the entrance fees. There are many different trails you can take; We chose the one that led to the waterfall. The path was beautiful! Lots of plant and wildlife around every corner. We had plenty of time to take photos and enjoy the magnificence of it all without ever feeling rushed. Breaks were taken as needed or whenever the next rest stop came up. Since it is dry season, it was more of a sprinkle fall than a waterfall but it was still beautiful and worth the trek. When we arrived we had even more time to take pictures, eat and just enjoy each other's company. After we left the park we were taken to a local organic wine vineyard. The property was GORGEOUS and the blackberry wine was delicious. Tastings are free and bottles were cheap. Definitely a must try/have. The second part of the trip was wonderful as well. Before getting to the site where Picacho resides, we stopped at a lookout point to view the city. It was breathtaking. They showed us the best place to take photos and even offered to take some of us up there. Once inside the park, we saw a Mayan temple replica, more great views of the city and the statue of the Christ of El Picacho that can be seen from just about every part of the city. As expected, Hernan knew the best place to take photos with and of the statue. Before leaving, we got some VEGAN horchata. Yum! And we were dropped off curbside Overall, it was a fantastic day. Hernan and Margarita are very passionate about their business and their country. They brought bags to pick up trash at the park, took photos of all of us without even asking and really treated us like family. If for no other reason, support this small business because they do what's right and they truly care about people and their home.Written May 30, 2016
