Let me first say that the trip itself is such a beautiful drive and once there, even the sight of the cave cannot be done justice through pictures. This is such a laidback activity—perfect for your first day after arriving if you’re not quite ready to scale pyramids or trek through the forests. Now onto our specific experience with Cayo Inland Expeditions. On the surface, this company provides the same service as many others and I have been hard pressed to find a bad guide in our previous trips to Belize. That said, the guides in this company are the best we have ever come across. Their knowledge of the sites is first rate. Their willingness to slow down or speed up according to our needs left us with a completely customized experience. The seamlessness of pickups and drop-offs maximized our time seeing the wonders of Belize without any waiting around. At the site itself, my children were more interested in the surrounding flora and fauna—so our guide easily transitioned to biology expert and took the time to show us specifics about leaf cutter ants and the surrounding flowers. In the van ride, we enjoyed a wealth of conversation—everything from local economics to Chicago winters. And when we got tired and just wanted to lay our heads back in silence—they accommodated that as well. It was a wonderful, worthwhile experience with the best company we’ve ever worked with.

We (myself, my wife and daughters aged 10 and 14) went to Barton Creek Caves only on a half day tour. Onil, the guide was excellent- really knowledgeable about the caves, the area around them and Belize in general. We all really enjoyed the trip. The service we had from Cayo Inland expeditions was excellent, and the price was good. I have already recommended them to other people.

We had a wonderful experience with Cayo Inland. We went to Barton Creek, Big Rock Falls, Xunantunich, the Saturday market in San Ignacio, a chocolate class, cave tubing and ziplining with Cayo Inland. They also did our inland transport from the airport to SI with a stop at the zoo and delivered us to Placencia plus arranged our trip to Tikal. They did a great job. We loved having Cisco as our guide for everything - he knew so much about what we were doing, was very skilled and also safety concious but adventurous. Perfect combo. We and our kids miss him. Wayne was also a super transfer driver and handled our border crossing to Guatemala.

The guide took us from San Ignacio resort will to h helmets and life jackets. The equipment was good and it was a three seater canoe with the guide in one of the seats. It is a great activity to pursue even if you don't swim and you will see amazing formations in the cave. One or two mayan ruined pots and sacrificial skull is also visible. It is spectacular and you can get deeper if you are comfortable with the stalactites and stalagmites really low. We turned around after 30 to 45 mins given the structures were getting even lower close to the water but you can go further with a guide.

It is spectacular when you go deep into the caves and come back again. The water is clear and you can almost relive the history. On the way to Barton Creek you will see an Amish settlement with horse drawn carriages. There is a small restaurant and clean bathrooms with changing rooms in this place. beautiful garden as well

We were picked up by Alan the driver from Cayo Tours. He was very friendly and knowledgable. The Barton Creek was an hours drive over unpaved roads (so be prepared for a Belizian massage:)). We went through a small Mennonite community. The weather is perfect - no bugs. The helmets were clean and we wore a life vest. Alan paddled and we entered the caves. It was very peaceful in there and quite different than the ATM cave?Indiana Jones adventure. I would do this one first then the ATM as it was definitely more peaceful. We then drove another hour via the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve is a nature reserve in the Cayo District of southern central Belize. It was established in 1944 to protect and manage the native Belizean pine forests. We passed the hotel owned by Francis Ford Coppola the Blancaneaux. We had a nice triple decker sandwich and banana picnic. There are no toilets there so be prepared to go natural. The walk to the Big Rock Falls is not that long but it does requires sure footing and a certain fitness level. Getting into the water is very slippery so go down on your bottom. As is getting out of the water very slippery. The climb up again is challenging. The water was very refreshing. I recomend the trip.

If you enjoy birds as a side attraction you HAVE to ask for Victor Gamez as a guide. We started out for Barton Creek but Victor quickly learned of our interest in birds and took us on a side birding trip. AMAZING!! We saw 9 species of hummingbirds, toucans and parrots among many others. Victor then gave us a wonderful tour of Barton Creek cave with Mayan history. We finished by going to Big Rock Falls and jumping off the rocks. Victor was such a pleasure and we ran into him the following day and he pointed us in the direction of a great restaurant downtown that was very good as well. Great tours and an even better guide. Thank you Victor! We will be back

Awe-inspiring. The cave was beautiful and massive, the water was still and clear. It’s easy to understand why the Mayans considered this a place of the gods.
