During the tour, you will see three different waterfalls and will have the option to swim and cliff jump from each. The Un-Named waterfall: Pools upon pools of crystal clear waters falling onto one another, the un-named waterfall is never the same, but ever changing. The high calcium deposit that runs through this fall calcifies fallen leaves, twigs, and even living ferns that dare to lounge upon the cool flowing waters. The Twin Falls: While the Twin-falls both cut a course through the same granite barrier, they stand boldly apart in both size and features. Rio-Frio Waterfall: The Rio-Frio waterfall is the ideal waterfall to bathe under! Untouched waters tumble off a cliff of approximately 75Ft high and into a large open pool, ideal for bathing and splashing into. And don't forget to lookout for wildlife in this vast lush rainforest!

As Belize residents, we have been enjoying the lack of tourists to our country due to covid, and using this slow time to do some of the “tourist activities” that are usually too busy with tourists. Of everything we have done in the past year, this jungle pontoon boat tour was the best!

The boat is rustic with a very jungle-like feel, but very comfortable and safe. It is set up like somebody’s deck with benches, chairs, tables, and a grill, but it is a deck that moves slowly through constantly changing beautiful scenery. A tarped section provides protection from the sun, or you can take a chair to the back deck to catch some rays. We went with a group of friends, and we were able to comfortably arrange ourselves to mingle and visit with each other. And, when the boat is docked to hike up waterfalls or stopped at a beach, it’s an easy step from the deck to the water. It moves very slowly and smoothly, so we were able to set out food and drinks with no worry of spilling things; there is definitely no need of travel mugs.

The stops the boat makes as part of the tour are amazing - beautiful sights that many people who have lived in Belize for their entire lives are not lucky enough to have seen. We saw where the Vaca Reservoir starts, and we also saw two spectacular waterfalls that are at the end of rivers that begin in the Mountain Pine Ridge. Both waterfalls provide amazing swimming holes, and the second has a sandy beach at one side of the pool where you can relax or play in the sand. At the end of the tour, we went to see the backside of the dam, floating on top of more than 200 feet of water.

Robert was our guide, and he lived up to our expectations. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and a great boat captain. He pointed out birds and vegetation, and while we weren’t lucky enough to have any major wildlife sightings, he told us of birds and animals they have seen on the banks of the reservoir. A few of the passengers were older and a little unsteady on their feet, and Robert made sure that they were safe and able to get to the waterfalls. Robert’s family owns the land all around the reservoir and he has spent his entire life there, so he has a wealth of knowledge of the history of the area which he is very generous in sharing.

Whether you live in Belize and think you’ve seen it all, or if you’re wondering if it’s worth a day of your valuable vacation time, I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. It’s definitely worth it!

Me and my family did 3 excursions. We started with cave tubing with Dave who was amazing. He was fun, energetic, gave us all the history of the caves and made our experience memorable. We also did the pontoon boat with Nadir. We spent the day on the Macal River. We went to 2 waterfalls and the fountain of youth. We had an amazing bbq on the boat which was absolutely delicious. It was very peaceful and beautiful. We laughed and had an amazing time as well. Our last excursions was horseback riding with Robert in the beautiful hills. His horses were very well trained and Robert made you feel very comfortable. I had had a bad experience with a horse in Puerto Rico but he made me fave my fear and made me extremely comfortable to get back on a horse. At the end of our ride we were taken to eat at a local restaurant and than finished with a small hike to the Mayan Ruins. I highly recommend Jungle Splash Eco Tours to anyone visiting Belize. All of our guides made us feel like we were family. I definitely gained 3 new friends. Thank you Dave, Nadir and Robert for everything!!! My experience will never be forgotten.

Most beautiful scenery. Most beautiful day. Most accommodating tour operators. The barbecue lunch was above and beyond. We booked a private tour and Robert (the owner) took us out. I am a very picky eater and they really made sure I left the tour with a full belly. We didn’t know what to expect and we were beyond impressed with the day. Relaxing day on the boat. Fun little hike to a waterfall and great swim. My dad is not in shape to hike and Robert took every step with him making sure he can balance and walk through the jungle. He swam holding his stuff in the air to make sure nothing gets wet. He went above and beyond. Robert was also so knowledgeable and funny. We spent three days in San Ignacio and this was the best tour we did. Don’t miss it. Thank you again to Robert for one of the best and memorable days with my family in beautiful Belize!

This was hands down the best thing we did while staying in the area. I thought it was going to be a leisurely ride with lunch, which it was, but it was SOOOO much more!! The crew (Roberto and Nadir) was so funny and made everyone have the best time with their jokes and hospitality. You can tell that they love their job because of their attitude, love of the jungle where they grew up, and their genuine interest in making sure everyone has fun… whether fun for you is sitting and soaking in the sun, viewing wildlife and taking a swim, or being really adventurous and trying some new challenges!! It really can be as exciting as you want it to be because there are opportunities to swim in waterfalls, tube, jump and swing from the rocks into the water, see nature, hike a little bit…. Everything you could want out of an absolutely perfect day! We had a BLAST!!! It was the best money I spent on my trip so far - so book it!

The tour started out slow. The driver and tour guide picked us up from our hotel. He traveled 1 hour out of the way to pick us up. That was very nice. He then took us into the mountain. The road was very bumpy but entertaining. We went around the river looking for crocodile nests then things picked up from there. Went to a nice waterfall where we swam and enjoyed the water massaging our neck and back. We then went to another fall. I fell off the boat, Robert grabbed me and pulled me out of the water before other bad things can happen. Then we jumped off a swinging rope and partook in cliff jumping. His cousin, Effrain was cooking up a delicious meal while we were having fun. We had a good lunch. They provided some local beers, always a plus. After lunch we continued our excursion while being pulled on an inner tube. Then, home. Robert was very knowledgeable about the river, animals, fishes, plants, rock formation and sedimentation. For green loving people who want to preserve the earth, these 2 guys fished all the plastic stuffs in the river and respected wild lives. Enjoyed this immensely

This was a much needed family trip in our very own Belizean backyard, we went deep into the Cayo district to explore 3 refreshing waterfalls along the Macal River guided by Jungle Splash Eco-Tours.

We drove to Benque in our own van & followed the way led by 2 of the guides. It took some time getting to the property because of the distance & the bumpy road. After arrival we all loaded in a 4WD pick up which took us to the riverside boat. The view was AMAZING! Along the river was so peaceful & picturesque it was as if time stood still & we forgot about the Pandemic for a little while. Or 1st stop required a little hike to the waterfall. The 2nd stop was the best, our boat went right up under the waterfall then docked at the little beach where we had lunch. We brought snacks & food which the guide helped us prepare on their grill while sailing. The 3rd waterfall was small with crystal clear water. Our guide was informative & courteous, the boat was comfortable & spacious with life vests.

It felt good to get away & tour parts of the country we've only heard of. There's is still plenty more to explore. This river tour was a beautiful experience & all in all it was time well spent! #BelizeanTraveler #familyiseverything #makingmemories

Our family was in Belize for a New Year's vacation and went on the Jungle Pontoon Waterfall Tour. It was fantastic! We met Robert in San Ignacio and had an adventurous drive to the river. The pontoon boat was spacious and well set up for a leisurely cruise along the river. We stopped at three waterfalls with pools for swimming and climbing, and a last waterfall with a rope swing. It is clear Robert cares about the river, jungle and the area, and did all he could to share information about the plants, animals and geology with us. He and his crew made sure we were well taken care of. The bar-b-que was great and when Robert heard my wife and cut her foot and could not get it wet, he carried her over a stream so she would not miss out. This adventure was one of he highlights of our trip.

What a great day! My family of 4 (including a 16 & 21-year-old) really enjoyed the day. Nadir was a fantastic guide giving us lots of time to enjoy the hikes and waterfalls.
Giovanni was our chef for the day and prepared a delicious meal. We also enjoyed a tree swing, saw monkeys and crocodiles (while tubing!). I highly recommend this excursion.

Robert and Danny were amazing hosts and guides! Walking through the jungle they answered all of our questions about the jungle, plants and animals around us. Danny made an excellent lunch on the pontoon and had so much fun at the waterfalls. We also expressed interest in the sunset horseback ride and accommodated us immediately and took us up the mountIan. They were so friendly and knowledgable. I would recommend this tour and any other tour that they offer! Thanks again Danny and Robert!

This was the first tour that we did after the long trip to get to Belize and it was a great and relaxing way to kick-off our vacation. The scenery was beautiful, there were lots of opportunities to swim, each waterfall was unique and made for a different experience, and our guide Jiovani had grown-up in the area and was very familiar with the area. The lunch was simple but tasty (tortillas, chicken, sausage, potatoes and peppers). If you are looking for a fun and relaxing excursion in San Ignacio this is a fantastic option.
