      ATM Tour Exceded Expectations
Wonderful day with Juan Carlos and Mayawalk at ATM. Though we are usually independent hikers/travelers, we were happy to have the expertise of an experienced guide on this tour. Spectacular time in the cave negotiating a rock/river route through stunning rock formations and with very interesting, informed commentary from JC. Small groups were well managed, giving sense of personal adventure despite large number of visitors. Hearty meal after the hike was a great way to end the tour. The pick-up, drive to trailhead, and return went smoothly despite the sometimes muddy road, with guides sharing interesting information about the history of the area along the way. Highly recommend this trip if you are in reasonable shape and want an adventure!

      Excellent Tour!
MayaWalk was very organized and communicated well. Our tour guide, “Junior” was awesome! He was knowledgeable, funny, and took his time explaining highlights of the tour. He was also concerned about safety and about preservation. Tate was our driver and maneuvered through some rough roads due to a lot of recent rain. Sadia prepared a great lunch. This is an awesome experience. I underestimated the amount of maneuvers to get through the cave, but Junior gave us step by step instructions the whole way. Excellent experience! I highly recommend MayaWalk and Junior!

      An Adventure
We had read much about visiting ATM prior to booking with Mayawalk. And we certainly made the right choice. For someone my age (68) and fitness (not very) I would rate the difficulty at about 8 (out of 10). Our guide (Juan Carlos) provided outstanding knowledge of the Mayan culture and the cave system itself. Without his expertise and guidance (also help, assistance, trust, support) the trip would not have been as enjoyable/successful as it was. Being able to experience a once in a lifetime view of a societal system from hundreds (thousands) of years ago is something we will never forget. So thank you Juan Carlos and to our very experienced driver Jaheim. A very big thank you to our hostess and cook Sadia for providing a tasty and bountiful picnic as a finishing touch to the day. Highly recommend this tour and these people.

Great tour with incredibly knowledgeable guide!
Our guide Ed was terrific and provided us with a comfortable and enjoyable experience while sharing his wealth of knowledge with us about the natural and historical worlds! The Rio Frio pools provided a much needed opportunity to cool down and chill out before heading back to the City. Highly recommend!

      Beautiful, Relaxing Excursion
This is a great way to spend half a day. Our guide O’Neil was very knowledgeable and the cave is stunning. Our guide did all the paddling and we just controlled the flashlights, so it was even more relaxing than I expected. I definitely recommend this.

      ATM caves tour review
The tour was super fun! Our guide Emil was very knowledgeable not only about the historical artifact but also the ecology of the area. It’s worth checking out or asking about the NGO they are partnered with: Belize karst!

      Brilliant day at ATM
Fantastic and awe inspiring tour. We got very wet and muddy but the whole experience was well worth it. Our guide, Emile, had the patience of a saint carefully guiding two 77 year olds. His knowledge of all aspects of the cave and surrounding jungle was immense. We would thoroughly recommend this trip as it was a once in a lifetime experience and well worth the effort. Thank you.

      Floating Through Nature
Andy our tour guide picked us up on time. The drive to the caves was 1 hour so we had a chance to ask Andy about the area, culture and history of the area. He was very open with us and we shared many personal stories. The caves were outstanding. Great stalagmites and stalactites and columns. Some areas glimmered. In some spots we had to duck way down because the overhang was so low. But it was all part of a great adventure. At the end of the kayak trip we had a belizian lunch in which they accommodated my vegetarian diet. Swimming was also an option but we passed on it. And then back to home. Andy dropped my husband off at our hotel and then graciously dropped me off at another spot. It was a great trip and I would highly recommend it.

      Bucket list experience !!
This was a challenging but incredible experience for a 65+ mostly in-shape woman. Our trip was with Richard who was very informative about the cave, birds, trees and everything in between. Most importantly he made sure everyone was safe throughout the experience. There were 3 water crossings and a very muddy trail before getting to the cave and lots of water and boulders to climb once in the cave. Good water shoes and socks are a must. This was a bucket list item for me and Richard made it a truely unforgettable experience.

      An awe-inspiring and unique experience!
This caving excursion was a real adventure; I'm so glad I went! The cave system was absolutely fascinating to see, with colorful walls, beautiful rock formations and stalactites/stalagmites. I also loved getting the history and context of the artifacts and ritual sites. It was physically active too, with hiking, swimming, and climbing through the caves. Note: if you're at all claustrophobic or afraid of darkness or bats, this tour may not be for you. Thank you to Alex for being a fantastic guide!

      Great Experience
This was a fun experience, it was really informative, and the pyramids are cool. It was great that we got to climb up the pyramid and learned a lot about the Maya people and their history. Jason was an amazing tour guide. He was really funny and really knowledgeable, I recommend him!

Definitely go for the ATM tour with MayaWalk
I went for the Caracol ruins tour and ATM caves tour with my friends with Maya Walk Tours. Our guides Jason for Caracol, and Richard for ATM, were amazing. They were both very knowledgeable and ensured a comfortable and safe experience. For the ATM tours I cannot recommend Richard enough. I was apprehensive given that it was rated as an intense experience, and I'm not a super comfortable swimmer or climber. But having an excellent guide helped me have an incredible experience. He was patient and had a wealth of knowledge. I highly recommend this even if you're anxious or scared. You'll push yourself, learn a lot about the Mayan people and their rituals, and have a fun adventure. Go book the ATM tours and ask for Richard!

Top Life Experience You Absolutely Cannot Miss
One of the absolute best experiences of my life. We have traveled so many places and done tons of amazing, exhilarating, memorable adventures, and the ATM Caves with MayaWalk is among the best of these. Our guide Emil did a fantastic job relaying the fascinating history of the Maya, plus shoutout to our driver Joel for getting us all there and back. If you are even considering doing this tour - DO IT! You won’t regret it! And every tour with MayaWalk contributes to local conservation efforts which is the cherry on top for an already incredible team of guides and other staff. Thank you for our experience!

Amazing Experience, Richard was such a helpful and knowledgeable tour guide
This was such an amazing experience. Going through the ATM tour with Richard was a true pleasure. He was very helpful, and also very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna, and about the lives, religious practices, and history of the old Maya people. He took extra care with our group and helped make the experience unforgettable. I highly recommend this experience.

What an amazing experience! We were lucky to have Pretty as our tour guide. It was only me and my daughter, so we got a personal tour. Pretty gave us one of the best tours we have been on. He was very attentive to detail, extremely knowledgeable about the history of the caves, and kept us entertained the whole time. After, we ate lunch and had some of the best rum punch I have ever had. I would recommend this tour to anyone that is able to visit Belize and if possible ask for the best tour guide, Pretty Guzman! Oh and Mike our driver was great as well. He got us there and back, safely.

MayaWalk were the only people who did not try to charge me more for being a single person. They were very well organised and every member of staff who I spoke to was very friendly and helpful.

Based on this I also booked a transfer from San Ignacio to Belize, which as was also a very smooth process.

This was a good trip but I would highly recommend MayaWalk as a company too.

My wife and I booked this tour with Maya Walk tours as we were looking for a fun, relaxing and easy day. It exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Jason, was very friendly and knowledgeable. No one else booked the tour so it was like having our own private adventure. The weather was perfect for tubing. A sunny 89*F which made the water so refreshing. We stopped inside the cave to check out some rock formations and Mayan pottery. Then we had a swim in a pool inside the cave. It was a great way to spend the day. I highly recommend Maya Walk Tours and our guide Jason.

We had an absolute blast doing this tour (and two others!) with Maya Walk during our time in Belize. Our tour guide was Giselle and we had so much fun relaxing down the river with her. She was super knowledgeable about the wildlife and helped us spot three toucans as we floated along! We had a great lunch at a restaurant, and we would highly highly highly recommend Maya Walk for all of your San Ignacio tours.

Our guide, Eddy made us discover the cave by tube but also by foot. He took the time to make photos of us, as he took a lot of time to 'feel' the cave (no light, only darkness and the sound of water).
Great experience. Very informative, relaxing and in nature!
The lunch was rather poor, it was in a restaurant. As we ordered vegetarian, it was only rice with some cold vegetables and a coke.

One day later we did ATM as wel. If you have to choose (and you have reasonable physical condition), you better choose ATM.

Out of all the tours we did (one each day for a week) this one was my favorite 😍. The walk through the jungle was beautiful and not to hard for my 70 yr old mother. The caves we beautiful, we saw waterfalls, bats and got to swim deeper in the cave where there was Mayan pottery. Jason was our tour guide, he was very knowledgeable and really made it fun.

They do need to update the description. We didn’t have a picnic (lunch at a nearby restaurant instead—included in cost), and we didn’t stop for a snack & swim before the last cave, and we saw no human remains.

Other than that this trip was just great. Karim (sp?) was our driver and he told us all about the countryside as we passed. And it wasn’t just a rote schpiel: I’ve been in Belize for a while and I could ask him questions about the landscape and politics and he’d answer outright or weave the answer into whatever he was describing at the time.

Marcus, the guide...I just don’t know if there are enough superlatives to describe his knowledge and his storytelling and his skills. Plus he told us a little about his life and he just seems like a really cool dude. If I was staying longer, I’d want to hire him directly for a longer tour. He was very kind and made us feel safe (I’m a little bit of a nervous nelly).

I’d done this trip before in 2014 with another tour company (I don’t remember the name), and this was so much better. Smaller (there were just 4 of us, but the maximum was 8), much better quality of inner tube (the backrest made a huge difference in comfort), longer time on the river, plus we ended with a little swim.

I *strongly* recommend this excursion. And I hope that you get a driver and guide as wonderful as Karim & Marcus.

This was an unforgettable experience! MayaWalk tours had a big part in that. While we saw other groups moving rather quickly, Oscar, our guide, took his time, made sure we got the full experience. He moved at our pace, answered all our questions, he was kind and fun to be with. He made sure all those in our party were comfortable with the activities and he even helped my husband retrieve his glasses that sank down to the bottom of one of the pools. I would 100% use them again next time.

We had an excellent day with Giselle as our guide. She was friendly and knowledgeable. The company picked us up at our hotel and dropped us off as well after a full day. Lunch at a restaurant on the way home was a delicious traditional Belizean meal. Would highly recommend!!

Our tour guide Gizelle was incredible! We learned so much about the caves and local fauna and flora. We also got out of our tubes halfway through and went to a spot for some really fun cave jumping. The caves, water, and views were spectacular and the place we stopped at for lunch had incredible food. MayaWalk Tours also arranged so that they could pick us up closer to the resort were staying at. We would definitely recommend this tour for anyone looking to have a great time tubing through beautiful caves. Ask for Gizelle if you can!
