- After pickup at your Belize City hotel or the cruise ship terminal, drive to the Maya Mountains foothills, passing the “Sleeping Giant” ridge along the way. The adventure begins with a thrilling zipline course through the jungle canopy. Look for exotic birds and learn about medicinal plants while soaring across seven cables of varying lengths and heights. Then, change into your swimsuit and store your gear in a locked van before hiking through the Belizean jungle to reach the famous Caves Branch River. Swim, if you like, before climbing aboard an inner tube for a voyage through an intricate underground cave system. Pass through caverns filled with ancient stalagmites and stalactites and then relax on an open-river float through the lush tropical forest. It's just a 2-minute walk from the end point back to the parking lot, where you'll change into dry clothes for the drive back to Belize City.

Pickup details- Cruise ship guests: meet your guide exiting terminal one onto the street at 8 am ship time or as soon as possible. To come off the ship early a tender ticket is needed. Get this ticket free from the ship. Ship is anchored out at sea over 4 miles plus. Hotel guests: 8:15 am meet your guide exiting terminal one onto the street. All guests must meet us in Belize city, just please specify your hotel or address.

- The cave tubing hike is about a mile on a flat nature trail and you float back down through the caves and open river
- There are short hikes between the platforms for the zip-lining to go to a higher platform
- Van/bus for travel also acts as the locker for all dry clothing, etc.
- No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
- Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
- Guest coming off a cruise ship must meet us out side of terminal one as soon as possible after ship docks and we use ship time and not local time to meet.

Dennis was fantastic! We originally booked the cave tubing and Maya Ruins tour but, at the last minute, we needed to make a change and do the ziplining and Mayan Ruins. Dennis was very accommodating and took great care of us! The Mayan Ruins were some of the best I've ever seen! Dennis gave us a private tour and was extremely knowledgeable and INTERESTING as he gave us the history of the site and the Ruins. My mom, who is 65, had never been to a Ruins site or ziplining and she had a BLAST! The ziplines were great also. There are a total of 6 lines, each from a platform which connects to another. It was safe and the zipline guides, Melton and Kevin, were funny and patient. This was my third time with Explore Belize Caves and each time gets better and better. This is a must-do in Belize!

This is a must shore excursion while visiting Belize. Both Brown Shuga and El Chapo were excellent tour guides. Not only did they take care of everything (all 12 of us) we needed from pick-up to drop-off, but they also ensured that my dad, who was celebrating his 90th birthday, joined in the fun. El Chapo took our dad to the shortest route (via the river) so he didn't have to walk a mile like the rest of the group. El Chapo went above and beyond in ensuring that everyone had fun while visiting Belize. We will definitely take this shore excursion again!

What an awesome day. Great communication from start to finish, and the tour guides in Dennis Jr and Fred were amazingly knowledgeable and customer service focused and interested. All along the way communication was good and they ensured that my daughter and I got all we could out of both the cave tubing experience AND the zip lining that we signed up for. Would definitely recommend as the tour was fun, the price point was better than all the other tour operators, and their flexibility in accommodating our arrival from the cayes with luggage, was well appreciated.

My guide was Avatar ! He was friendly made jokes and was super knowledgeable you can tell he loves what does.we did the combination of cave tubing , zoo , and zip line and it was all super fun. He showed us how dark the caves can get , told us all about the Mayans , the history of the animals and trees played question games with us , cut open a coconut super fun I highly recommend.

Brown Sugar was exceptional! He was very friendly and informative from the moment he picked us up. He shared with us about the history, culture, and life of Belize answering the many, many questions we had.
We enjoyed the short walk to cave tubing learning about the plants and wildlife in the rainforest. Although the Cave Branch River water levels were low, we loved floating along while enjoying all the amazing stories and riddles by Brown Sugar. Viewing all the cave rock formations were very fascinating. The zipling was fun. We then stopped for a delicious Belizian takeout lunch. We highly recommend this cavetubing and zipling tour with Brown Sugar as he went above and beyond our expectations making this a very memorable tour.

Eric was an amazing tour guide. Very knowledgeable about Belize. He was very nice. Hoe bought us beer and snacks for the ride! We recommend booking this tour than booking another company that has bigger groups. We were able to do the cave tubing and zipling at our own pace. The big groups we saw with other companies were being rushed. They picked us up right outside of the cruise terminal. 10/10 would book this again!

Fredd was our tour guide. He kindly picked us up from the ferry terminal, took us by the hotel to drop off our luggage, took us on the tours, showed us a local restaurant and back to our hotel. He offered many breaks, was knowledgeable, friendly, funny, flexible and accommodating. He let us swing by the zoo as well! When you go on tours, you want a local to give you a true experience. We had a great time. Exceeded our expectations. Thank you, Fredd!

I found Dennis via a tour app, but I highly recommend arranging a visit directly. My trip was for cave tubing and zip lining, but had I known about Dennis before, I’d have had him make a custom itinerary. Don’t get me wrong...the cave and zip lines were excellent. But I’d have used him for other options while in Belize.
As much as I love adrenaline and loved the zip lines, the cave tubing was the best part. Fred was the guide and was entertaining, educational, and fun.
Dennis provided lots of color on the drive to and from the sites- definitely a good character if you want to learn about Belize.

I literally cannot recommend this enough. Nelson was the BEST guide, a native to Belize, he knew so much about the local plants and animals, was HILARIOUS, and really helped us maximize our time ashore (coming from a cruise). The ziplining was SO beautiful and fun, then the cave tubing was incredible. Nelson knew the history of the caves and even pulled us over to a clear, deep spot in the caves where we could jump off a higher rock into the clear water. We had a little extra time, and he gave us a guided tour of the Belize Zoo on the way back to port. He knew all the animals by name and gave us the most incredible experience in Belize. Plus on the way back from tubing he stopped at this place for lunch that was SO delicious - coconut rice, stewed chicken, fried plantain, and salad. If you have a trip planned to Belize you would regret missing out on this tour with Nelson.

Brown Sugar was an amazing guide. We enjoyed our day with him. Our ship was bit late, but there he was waiting for us. We loved not having to be in a huge group also. It was just us. He is so knowledgeable and gave us so much information about the people of Belize and how they live while we drove. He pointed out various points of interest and gave us a bit of history too. The cave tubing was so awesome. (Note: The walk to the caves is a bit of a walk, so be prepared for some spots that are not flat. I highly recommend people bring their own water shoes and bug spray. We had to rent shoes, only $3 each, but I wish I would’ve know to bring our own. The mosquitos were horrible, so he found us a place we could buy some bug spray. That made the trip so much better in Nov, right after rainy season.) We loved floating down the river in the caves, it was so relaxing. He had us tied together so we didn’t need to do anything but enjoy. Then we went down the road for some zip lining. The company they work with is top notch. Safety is very important for them and they were really fun guides. We were a family of adults aged 59, 58, 32, and 24. We loved this!

They will work with you on timing. Just let them know your time constraints. We had to catch the ferry back to San Pedro and they got us back in time.

Approximately what time are pickups from Belize City hotels? We will be arriving in Belize City on the bus from Cancun at about 7:30am and will need to drop our luggage at the hotel before heading out on the tour.

Is there a place to store baggage during the tour? Will we have enough time to do the tour then get to the airport to catch a flight to San Pedro?

I am not sure about storing baggage, we only stored our few items in lockers. I would ask the question before booking the tour. It was pretty much an all day trip for us, so I would be careful about doing it before a flight.

If staying in an AirBNB, where would be the best location to be picked up? We are staying directly in Belize City and there is the option of being picked up at port or a hotel, but unsure what to put as we will need to travel to that pick up. Anyone else have this experience?
