About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- bartr4010 contributionsThe Hidden gem of San PedroBlue Tang is a CLEAN, friendly, convenient and quaint boutique hotel. Tasty hot breakfast every morning. Friendly staff, especially a young man working part time during our stay (Amilcar). He never stopped working and went out of his way to be polite and endure our trip was going well. This kid was the highlight of our trip! Bravo Amilcar (Your parents taught you well!)Written January 24, 2025
- BoardingPass2936170 contributionsStunning Way To See the FishiesOur group of 14 had an incredible time on the beautiful Sirena Azul! The guides were super fun, incredibly knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. The snorkeling was fantastic and I felt very safe and cared for the whole time. We did have a little incident when the boat ran out of gas, but this was quickly remedied and didn't impact our excursion one bit.Written January 17, 2025
- Culture078263909070 contributionsDO IT!Had a great experience! Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Belize and do it again when I am back! Our host were amazing and added to the experience.Written January 15, 2025

- YogaNidra20200 contributionsWonderful experienceGuide Renaldo and team were excellent ~ shared knowledge and respect about the reef and sea life ~ saw many fish, rays and a green turtle ~ coral was beautiful! Then nurse shark feeding too an amazing experience!Written January 14, 2025
- CandyLandLaLa0 contributionsPerfect location!!We stayed here for a week through 1/4/25 and we were incredibly happy with our experience!!! We primarily booked our trip to finish our SCUBA certifications, and this location was FABULOUS! We typically stay at resorts but because we wanted to immerse ourselves in the culture, we took a gamble and we won! :) Customer service was A+++ - they responded to all of my emails/texts prior to and during our trip. I pre-booked a taxi transfer through the Blue Tang website and via email because I'm annoying and need to double check everything :P Pick up was from Maya Air (puddle jumper from BZE) and Isella (front desk) came with the driver to pick us up since it was after hours so that she could check us in at 9p and ensure our happiness. Wow. (Small note: if you book the taxi transfer through Blue Tang, it's a bit confusing, but you are paying Blue Tang for the taxi when you settle the bill, so you just need to tip the driver. I made the mistake of paying him for the ride from the airport and a tip, but oh well) The LOCATION!!!! OH MY GOODNESS! This hotel is the perfect location. A few steps and you're on the pier to Palapa Bar and Grill (they do stop serving food at 9pm so you need to go to Sandbar next door if you need to eat after a late arrival!). Our dive shop - Belize Scuba School and Family Dive Center - was a less than 5 minute walk to the south, so we didn't even need the golf cart! We also easily rented a golf cart and that was handy for checking out more of the island, but it was a busy week so parking became somewhat hard to come by, but it was under $350 for a week, so while we're not lazy folks, it did come in handy for places over a mile away. The room itself was nice - we had room 12, as it's one of two rooms that accommodate 4 people. It was spacious and the vaulted ceilings added to a feeling of openness. My son slept on the pullout (it was "fine") and the remaining beds were Fulls or Queens - not sure, but very small compared to sleeping on a King! I finally asked for extra pillows mid-week and slept much better after that - DON'T HESITATE TO ASK! Breakfast - head down for coffee and a different breakfast each day, with some fruit and hard-boiled eggs. Towels - check out beach towels at the office, though they are closed for lunch typically Housekeeping - wasn't consistent as far as timing, but was great! A/C - worked GREAT!!! :) and fans too Umbrellas - didn't know we'd need them, didn't ask until it was too late, but I saw others check them out from the front desk There are water jugs on each floor to refill your water bottles, and there is a carafe in your fridge for refilling as well. Go up to the rooftop floor for a great view of the town. Suggestions: because we were there for scuba diving, we had a lot of wet items so I wish there were hooks or racks or something to hang dry clothing/bathing suits. We hung our stuff out on the front railing and ended up losing a few items to the wind (one was in lost and found, woohoo!). Yes, there is major construction occurring next door (as of January 2025) and they start early and work 7 days per week except holidays. We used a white noise sound machine and it worked out great, so I highly recommend picking one up ($20 or less on Amazon) - heck, maybe BTI should provide them since construction noise will likely be ongoing for at least a year. All in all, my family (incl. 2 teenagers) loved this hotel - we felt like we were a part of local culture and felt safe and comfortable the entire time. Highly recommend!!!Written January 10, 2025
- erinaV9925WP0 contributions10/10We loved this excursion. It was cool to sail out to the reserve vs a boat. Our guides Rowhan and Ronan were funny and super knowledgeable about the sealife, history of the reef and gave us lots of information about Belize and its people. We saw a ton of different varieties of fish and other sea creatures. Swimming with the sharks was amazing. I highly recommend this to tour.Written January 10, 2025
- Lpcathey0 contributionsgreat day on the waterSuch an amazing adventure! The sailboat was an awesome way to cruise out to the barrier reef. Our snorkeling guide led us around the reef, often diving underwater to point out coral and fish that we might have missed on our own. Then seeing the sharks & rays so up close and personal was frightening yet exciting, considering they were more interested in the chum our guides threw in the water than us spectators watching them.Written January 8, 2025
- Curiosity040536654550 contributionsOutstanding ExperienceWe had a wonderful time. Highly recommend the 8:30 tour. Reynaldo and George are wonderful hosts. I personally did want to snorkel but my husband did. They were super accommodating about my staying on the boat while everyone went out. What a great experience. - Passport351831496220 contributionsMindblowingMy wife and I had a grand time on the sailing ship Sirena Azul, our guides Ronaldo and David were absolutely fantastic. We went on the early trip at 8:30 with two other pairs of people six in total, we all had a great time I can confidently say. We saw so much beautiful seascape during our dives. Ronaldo went out of his way to search for multiple different sea creatures and offered us a chance to sea them. Super nice experience overall. Would definitely go again.Written November 23, 2024

This sunset sail was one of the highlights of our trip to Belize! Captain Daniel and his first mate Edwin were highly skilled and made the trip so fun. The food and beverages were a perfect touch to our tour. We caught a good sunset, and I was able to get some great pictures. Overall, it was such a great experience, and I would recommend this sail tour to anyone looking for a good time, looking to meet good people, or just a romantic time with your special someone!

Our sunset sail couldn’t have been better! Our group of 4 received a warm welcome & great service. Both crew members were polite, welcoming & had a great sense of humor. We enjoyed a 2.5 hour ride while watching the sunset, listening to music & visiting with other guests. We were served plenty of drinks (water, beer & rum punch) & loved the salsa & seafood ceviche to snack on!

Edwin and George were perfect hosts. The boat is lovely and so comfortable. We enjoyed the Caribbean breeze and sipped on sodas and rum punch. They stopped to serve ceviche, salsa and chips while we enjoyed the truly magnificent sunset. The ride back was amazing with the stars and moon coming out. 100% enjoyed.

Such a nice little outing for our little family. We have a 2 year old so doing a half day activity like this is both fun and attainable with a toddler. We were on our way at around 4:30 and back around 7:30 so right around her bedtime. It was a gorgeous experience watching the sunset while enjoying some fresh shrimp ceviche and tasty refreshments. The staff was friendly and informative. If you have a little kid who you know can hang and not cause too much fuss this is a nice activity for both adults and littles.

What an incredible way to watch the sunset and enjoy new views of the sea. The staff were very accommodating and served rum punch and ceviche while we watched the sun set and watched for marine life off the boat. Certainly a fabulous time and would highly recommend!

David and Victor are great crew members who taught the guests the maneuvering of the sailboat through the channels. They offered a cerviche, a salsa with seafood. And as much Rum Punch or beer you wanted...within reason!
Our sunset was not as nice, as one wanted, but hey, grateful we did see one! Blue Tang Inn was easy to locate and check in prompt. Ample parking for golf carts in a well lit area! Definitely would recommend.

Edwin, George and David were expert hosts. They were kind, conversational and informative, providing background on the Ho Chan Marine Reserve, the coral reefs and fish species populating this part of the ocean. The ceviche they served was fresh and tasty, and the rum punch, cold beer, and other refreshments were a nice treat. The best part was the beautiful sunset and stargazing. Definitely a trip worth taking with this crew!

The cruise at sunset was a special and wonderful experience. We were given rum punch and conch ceviche while cruising and enjoying the sunset. The guide and captain were hilarious and friendly. Serene stargazing marked the end of our cruise.

My wife and I had the best experience on our cruise. Our two guides (I’m embarrassed as I am not sure their names now, but I think it was Alex and Alex - I remember they had the same first names!) were excellent. The older Alex was so knowledgeable about Belize and Guatemala and the reef and everything else. A real good conversationalist, which we appreciate. It’s great to meet the local people and they were very gracious and kind. It was a real special evening for us. I don’t recall exactly how expensive, but it was reasonable. We got back after dark and had a great meal at Carumbas to cap off a perfect evening. You take these trips in part for the memories, and we will have great memories of this tour for a long time.

My wife, myself, and our friend spent 2.5 hours aboard the Sirena Azul and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The ceviche was fantastic and the service was excellent. A lovely way to end a day on Ambergris Caye.
