Very peaceful sail out to the hol chan reserve. I was mostly impressed with big Buddha who realized my 8 year daughter was panicking and then made sure she stayed on the life preserver as he towed her around the reserve and pointed out fish for her. She ended having a fantastic time.
The rum punch they offered on the ride back was without doubt the best rum punch I’ve ever had.

For those of you who don't have diving certifications or don't want to shell out $350 for quick certification in San Pedro, there is plenty of sea life to see when you book a $55/person tour with Abergris Divers. There are other vendors, but this is the average rate in the winter.
This was just spectacular, the highlight of our trip, really. The guides do this twice/day, and they've probably been doing this for years. Excellent guidance and very safe. On a windy day, if you get sea sick, please be aware. While it is not a lengthy sea trip to the destination, it certainly can affect those with sensitivities.

Lovely sailboat and ride. Snorkeling equipment top notch. Small group was lead around rather than a free swim within an area which caused a lot of time trying to make sure you were not loosing your group or ending up in another group which distracted a bit from enjoying the experience.

I highly recommend this experience. We did the morning trip, I went with my mom, cousin and a friend and we all had so much fun. We were also with another group of 4 people. I like that the group was small and there was plenty of room for all of us on the boat. The water was kind of choppy because of the weather but it was still a nice temperature. We saw schools of fish, stingrays, pufferfish and even a barracuda. My mom is usually afraid of everything but the team made her feel safe enough to go in and have a great time.

My wife and I booked this snorkeling trip for our honeymoon and we’re very pleased with our experience. Sailing to the reserve is a much more relaxing way to get there and the captain and guide are awesome and very informative. If you’re visiting San Pedro this tour is a must!

The coral grows very close to the surface, so close that one has to avoid the shallowest spots of swim slowly and keep one's self very straight to not hit it. It is thus colorful and teaming with fish of various species. The guides will point out rays and more special fish such as eels and lobsters that are rare (we only saw one of each) but are spectacular.

After looking for the right tour for days, I decided on this one! And I’m happy I did. It’s a sailboat. You cruise out to the snorkel spots at a leisurely pace while all the other boats fly by. Gives you a chance to appreciate it more. Listen to the history of the place. Buddha, David, George ( I think that’s right, I know Buddha was there) were amazing. Super chill, funny, and just great all around. Once we hit the water, it was just nothing short of amazing. Turtles right when we jumped in! Swam out to the reefs edge, back over the reef, saw some spotted rays, barracuda’s, so many fish! The we headed to the shark spot! So cool! After that, a nice leisurely back to the dock. 4 hours of fun! I’ll definitely do this again next trip! This is the one you want to take! The Sirena Azul! And grab the breakfast before hand. You’ll need it.

We had a great time, lots of fun, surprising, the captain and our tour guys knew all kinds of data about the places we visited and the things we saw. Our tour guide was incredibly patient and nice.
We had a lot of fun, it was a once in a life time experience.

This was a great tour with awesome guides. I'm not a huge fan of the water so I was a little nervous about this trip but, the guides made it so easy to keep up even for me. They stopped periodically to make sure everyone was keeping up. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was able to point out so many things to us that I would have missed otherwise. Overall, it was an awesome trip and I would 100% recommend it to anyone going to San Pedro!

Hi. I have a 3 and 6 year old. Can they come on the boat and how do I reserve for them? We have 5 adults and 2 children in our party.
Are life jackets provided for children or should we bring our own?

They are provided. If you bring children make sure the water isnt rough that day is a hard swim with life jacket if it is.

I see the price bracket for Adults between 12-60. I have a 10 year old who would love to join us. Is that possible? We are staying in San Pedro town. Where do we board?

It’s the same price ranging from $60-70 USD, yes a 10 year old can snorkel there.
Any tour excursion places will have boats but the oldest is Ramon’s Village in San Pedro. You should book it advance, we did the 1/2 day morning tour of Hol Chan Shark and Ray Alley.
Hi, I see that you have to options (8:30 and 13:30). Which one do you think is the best to see more animals?
Thanks in advance

This may sound silly, but do you actually swim with the sharks, rays, etc? It seems substantially cheaper than the other excursions promising the experience. Just curious as there aren't any "photos" featured like others. TIA

Actually you do they are nurse sharks, and fed before you jump in, they are playful and fun, there are many other pretty fish as well.
I suggest the company TUFF ENUFF with Capt Tigger, who has a more private Catamaran, then the others, he dives with you and will take pictures underwater with you. We really enjoyed the less crowded personal service from him and the crew and a yummy lunch! Beautiful day.
