About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- M639ILjeremyb0 contributionsCONSTRUCTION NOISE SO LOUD --- I think I have Hearing LossAlthough the inn is adequate the noise from the construction happening just 200 feet away using Heavy Machinery (think Jack Hammers/Cranes the whole 9 Yards) is so loud and obnoxious that it totally takes you out of the island vibe. They say it will be completed sometime between Jan-Mar 2025, so if you're looking for a beach front hotel that doesn't break your eardrums I would look else where.Written October 30, 2024
- maccapakka0 contributionsNoise pollution at the momentBeware there is extremely loud noise here at the moment with pilots been hammered into the ground do not visit or waste your time ! We have had to have a full refund today as we turned up no one informed us which is very bad customer service indeed very disappointing!Written August 14, 2024
- 990zaing0 contributionsBeautiful Belize SailThe sunset sail tour is so worth it, and the experience is one of a kind! Ronaldo and Edwin are lovely, hilarious, and incredibly informative! The tour is suitable for all, and a great experience to share with friends and loved ones.Written August 12, 2024
- aadispatcher0 contributionsBlue TangWhat a great place to stay!! We were in Room #3, right next to the office. ( FYI Room #2 is on the small road..maybe a little noisy??) comfortable beds (double I think) , seating area with a futon and table with chairs. Full size refrigerator, stove, microwave and kitchen items. We only used the fridge for drinks as we ate out every meal. Room was nice and cool with 2 ceiling fans and a split system A/C (hangs on the wall). TV with cable service which came out of Miami, so all stations from the US were available. Rooms were clean, quiet with daily housekeeping service. Bathroom is small, with a small sink but a large walk-in shower. If I had one "complaint" it would be lack of shower water pressure, but that's stretching it for a complaint. Continental breakfast in a small dining area outside daily. Coffee was good and decent selection of fruit daily. One hot item daily was also available. Area was clean and staffed by a polite quiet lady who kept the area very neat. Super convenient for something to eat to start the day, rather than having to find a place to eat each morning. Great if you're diving at 0830! (Recommend Chuck and Robbie's dive shop about 1min walk from the hotel!) Office staff was helpful and accommodating. Outside pool area is small but clean! Nice pool towels provided and an outdoor shower is available for after diving convenience. Great location, easy walk to just about any place you want to eat up and down the beach. Walking on the "beach" is easy, it's more like walking on a packed sand beach, not a soft sand beach. Recommend Sand bar for nice lunch or quick dinner. HIGHLY recommend Tacos La Diosa, basically next door to the hotel. Again, a quick meal after a long day of diving...but definitely worth it. Hard to say anything bad about this hotel. Absolutely loved staying here!Written June 16, 2024

- suef20100 contributionsMost amazing beach vacation ever at Bella Vista Resort on Ambergris CayeThis was the very best beach vacation I've ever had! Bella Vista resort was exactly what I hoped for. I have never been treated so well and cared for by hotel staff. We stayed 7 nights in the Sting Ray room. It had great tv, kitchen, and separate bedroom. From our room you looked straight across the sweet pool onto the dock and the white line of foam and waves crashing onto the coral reef. The happy hour prices were amazing. We rented a golf cart and had a blast bombing around the island. Snorkeling was amazing and swimming with nurse sharks and sting rays incredible. My new friends at Bella Vista include: Roger, Susan, Manny, Pablo, Enrique, Linda, Rueben and Jesus at the dive shop!! You made our big birthdays and 43rd anniversary special. Mike the owner lives on site and was friendly and easy to talk with. They can arrange all expeditions and give great advice. This was a superlative trip. Now to figure out how to get the grandkids and their parents there.. Many thanks to all the staff. If I get back to Ambergris Caye I would not stay anywhere but Bella Vista Resort.Written May 27, 2024
- alexmH5885TK0 contributionsSimple sailing fun with a great crewThis was such a nice, simple little trip that really made our stay here in Belize. We went in off season so there were only about 10 people on board. Crew was great, super chill and Edwin told us a lot about the reef, the marine sanctuary, the tricky navigation and a bunch of other interesting details about the area. Surrender your shoes upon boarding and enjoy a couple hours' of easy sailing with this happy crew. The beer and rum punch (all included) flows freely and later in the journey you're served some delicious ceviche, chips and salsa. And bonus: We had a few dolphins join us for a bit. If you're looking for a simple way to spend an enjoyable few hours on the water at a very reasonable cost, this is a perfect outing.Written May 20, 2024
- mdbake0 contributionsLoved this place and the peopleSuch a great experience . Everyone was so friendly and the staff was exceptionally helpful . It really felt like they were trying to take care of our family and make sure we had a great time . The breakfasts were great . The grounds a little oasis . It was just lovely all around . We did rent a golf cart for some exploring but for the most part , this place is a nice walk from almost everythingWritten April 19, 2024

The guide gave us so much history of Belize and great local spots to check out. He let us play our music on Bluetooth. 10/10 one of the best excursions we have been on.Written April 13, 2024

- katejK5838ZK0 contributionsNice SpotWe had a wonderful weeklong stay at the Blue Tang Inn. Our room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The continental breakfast was a nice bonus. The beachfront location was convenient — close to excursions, restaurants and a great view of the water. We did a snorkel tour through the resort that we really enjoyed. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and they had lots of drinks and fruit for the trip.Written March 24, 2024
- Lstuckmo0 contributionsMore amazing than you thoughtWe’ve been all over the world and this was in our top 3 places to snorkel. The fish were huge and varied, we saw a family of eagle rays, and the nurse sharks swim by you but leave you alone. It was incredible and a bit miss experience!!!Written March 9, 2024
- James W0 contributionsSunset sailing funThis sunset sail was one of the highlights of our trip to Belize! Captain Daniel and his first mate Edwin were highly skilled and made the trip so fun. The food and beverages were a perfect touch to our tour. We caught a good sunset, and I was able to get some great pictures. Overall, it was such a great experience, and I would recommend this sail tour to anyone looking for a good time, looking to meet good people, or just a romantic time with your special someone!Written March 7, 2024

Very peaceful sail out to the hol chan reserve. I was mostly impressed with big Buddha who realized my 8 year daughter was panicking and then made sure she stayed on the life preserver as he towed her around the reserve and pointed out fish for her. She ended having a fantastic time.
The rum punch they offered on the ride back was without doubt the best rum punch I’ve ever had.

We are happy to hear that your 8-year-old daughter had a positive and memorable experience on the Sirena Azul sailboat tour to Hol Chan Marine Reserve. I'm sure the amazing scenery and cool breezes made your rum punch taste even better!

Edwin and the crew of the Sirena Azul were fantastic. Our family had the best time on our snorkel trip. We hit 2 spots, the Hol Chan Marine Reserve and the area where we swam with the sharks and saw a few sting rays. Edwin during the boat ride out and back gave lots of great information about Belize. He was also our guide in the water and he made sure we were all safe and were able to see all of the amazing views/fish during our time in the water.
I would highly recommend!!

We had a great time, lots of fun, surprising, the captain and our tour guys knew all kinds of data about the places we visited and the things we saw. Our tour guide was incredibly patient and nice.

This was a great tour with awesome guides. I'm not a huge fan of the water so I was a little nervous about this trip but, the guides made it so easy to keep up even for me. They stopped periodically to make sure everyone was keeping up. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was able to point out so many things to us that I would have missed otherwise. Overall, it was an awesome trip and I would 100% recommend it to anyone going to San Pedro!

We had a great morning on the Sirena Azul. We were able to sail down to the first site which was fun. My goals were to see turtles, sharks, manta rays and barracuda. Within seconds of getting in the water we say two turtles, several swimming mantas and a barracuda. Excellent. At the second stop we saw many sharks. One large one brushed by me unexpectedly, but paid me no mind. The crew and guides were knowledgeable and put a priority on safety. Also, the Blue Tang has a very good inexpensive continental breakfast ideal for a early morning departure.

This was a fun activity and the crew sailed the whole way to the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, and only motored a short way to the shark area. The crew was great and funny and accommodated both experienced and newbie's at snorkeling. The hotel where you depart from also provided sunscreen for free before you depart and were attentive to sizing your snorkel gear before boarding. On the way back, they provided soft drinks (soda, coke, water) on the way back. We were fortunate to have pretty good weather and the sailing to and from was half of the joy of this experience. I would highly recommend these guys if you want to spend a half day on the water.

This was an amazing adventure for my husband and I last week. Since there was some wind on the day we took this excursion, we got to sail the boat both out and back to the marine reserve . It was so relaxing !! At Hol Chan , Edwin got into the water with us and pointed out lots of marine life that we would have missed on our own ( sharks sleeping on the bottom of the ocean, sting rays buried in the sand, a spotted moray eel hiding in the rocks, etc etc) the water was crystal clear. If you are on Ambergris Caye, and you are looking for an excellent snorkeling experience, book this one !!!!! You’ll love it

The captain and first mate were friendly and provided a lot of information about the sealife we were seeing while snorkeling. A little choppy the day we snorkeled and the first mate assisted those of us less skilled in the water while keeping a watchful eye on everyone. Would definitely use this crew again!

I see the price bracket for Adults between 12-60. I have a 10 year old who would love to join us. Is that possible? We are staying in San Pedro town. Where do we board?
Written January 1, 2020
It’s the same price ranging from $60-70 USD, yes a 10 year old can snorkel there.
Any tour excursion places will have boats but the oldest is Ramon’s Village in San Pedro. You should book it advance, we did the 1/2 day morning tour of Hol Chan Shark and Ray Alley.
