      Best Experience
Our group had 2 groups of 10 and we were set to go at two different times. BUT they decided to let us all go together. They were amazing guides, taught us what we needed and allowed us to experience the Rock Springs in the best way!!! I would recommend this to anyone and of all skills. Also they recommended we stop at the Rock Springs Bar & Grill. And we were blown away with the service and their chicken cheesesteak is phenomenal.

      Scenery is gorgeous.
We went on the clear kayak tour with Jacob as our guide, The morning started off with pouring rain, but by the time we were to leave, the clouds parted and we enjoyed a wonderful paddle on our tandem kayak. The spring is clear, sandy bottomed and warm. It was like paddling through a jungle, with so much greenery around us. The water takes on a green and blue colour from the reflection of the trees. It was truly beautiful. We loved it. Jacob is very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and the history of the area. He answered all of our questions with humour. We asked him to give us some ideas for other fun things to do in the area and he gave us quite a few options. I would recommend this activity and to ask for Jacob as your guide.

      1. We showed up at 9:02 when we were supposed to be there at 9:00 and they left without us and refused to give us a refund. They were very unkind about it. 2. You can rent your own kayaks from the same dock for less than half the price and it’s a lot more fun because you don’t have to have a guide taking you around.

      Amazing trip with Cameron
We had a lovely time, everything was super easy. Our guide, Cameron, knew a TON about animals and birds. He gave us some great local tips as well for places to check out in the area. Would do this tour/group again for sure.

      Megan’s the best!
Megan was such a wonderful tour Gide at Rock Springs Clear Kayak Tour!! She made our experience one we will never forget and be very grateful for. The atmosphere was breathtaking, the clear kayak is the only way to go. Megan's upbeat and energetic attitude made this tour even more enjoyable. We are so thankful for her. Megan was very knowledgeable about the wildlife we encountered and the surrounding nature. She even took the time to take great photos of our trip.

What to do that is not Disney in Central Florida
Cool days but suns out so let’s explore. We met Ashley our guide and got set up for a couple hours outing in the spring run. Some basic instruction and we were in our way to a very lovely afternoon of exploration. The kayaks were fresh and clear (not scratched) so the view through them was clear. Ashley pointed out items of interest, provide historical context and offer great suggestions on what to do next. Highly recommend

We had a weekend in the Orlando area and wanted to do one outdoor activity. This was it! Having a guide was the way to go for our first outing. We were the last tour out and it was so peaceful. Our guide, Megan, was friendly and patient with our rowing skills. She did a great job telling us about the river and area around us. She was very attentive to everyone on the tour. On the ride back we let the current take us home and the water so clear...Beautiful and we definitely would do it again in a heartbeat!

We loved the weather and the location was pretty, but I was hoping we’d be kayaking down a crystal blue river for two hours surrounded by nature. Instead, we kayaked through a murky and choppy bay, and were only in the “river” area (where the water is more clear) for a very short paddle to the entrance of Three Sisters Springs. You cannot go into the springs area with kayaks, and that’s where you turn around. If you are wanting to see Manatees, this tour is for you. If you were hoping to possibly see Manatees in a long, relaxing river paddle, don’t do this tour. I guess I should’ve called the company and asked what they recommended for our wants and desires. The manatees are lovely, and the tour guide was very nice, but it’s just a ton of money to spend on a family of 5 for a mediocre experience. The kayaks aren’t “glass bottom” or very clear/see through in my opinion. This company did a good job, it’s just not the experience I was hoping for. I really just wanted to kayak through a majestic river and see turquoise water and see some wildlife. Like the videos and pictures on their Instagram. Maybe we should’ve chosen rock springs? I would suggest this location if you can rent your own kayak and somehow get it there. We would’ve done that, but there were too many of us. There were tons of kayakers and boats and even water bikes. It was way too crowded, we heard people cussing each other out because of all the traffic. I spent most of the kayak trip trying not to get ran over or collide. I’m just sick we spent so much money on this. Live and learn I guess, sadly. If anyone knows a location that fits what we were looking for, please let me know!

This review is for the wrong Get Up And Go Kayaking location as we do not have manatees at Rock Springs! Would you please consider removing it from this location's TripAdvisor and resubmitting on Crystal River's page? Thank you

We kayaked with them in January because I wanted to try the clear kayaks. We've been kayaking before and I thought the clear ones would be neat. However, the bottoms are really scratched so the only thing you can see that is clear is out the sides. We liked our guide but neither the guide nor the kayak added very much value to the tour. You can rent kayaks here (not clear ones though - for those you need the guide) and go at your own pace. You CANNOT get lost. The route is up to the state park and then drifting back down. It was very pretty at rock springs but had I known that the clear kayaks weren't clear, and you can't get lost, I probably would have chosen to go on my own rather than take the tour and saved a few bucks.

Lisa - thanks for the detailed feedback here. I am not sure if maybe you had gotten a guide kayak on accident, I tried to reach out to my guide to clarify but no solid answer was determined. The fleet of kayaks that we have now were brand new starting in November of 2019 so they would have only been 2 months of use when you were in them, and we take good care of them. Scratches on the kayaks fill in with water when you put them into the water, which makes me think that the following may be what you experienced: In the winter time, when the air is cooler, it can make a foggy look to them due to steam rising off of the water which may have been the occurrence as well. I do apologize for this and if there's something I can do to make up for it, please let me know. I'm glad to see you have still given us 4 stars, that means a lot to a small business like us, we always appreciate constructive criticism. Thanks again, Justin

Absolutely love this! 10/10 would recommend would come again. Had so much fun here. Highly recommend this for couples it allows you to work together and I guarantee you will start off arguing but when you leave you will feel more in sync and connected to your partner. We had an amazing tour guide named Daniel who kept us safe and well informed about the area. Highly recommend you tour with this guy, very worth it. I’m 8 months pregnant and was also super worried at first that this would be too much on my body but we took breaks every 15 minutes which made this more than do able. You even get time to take pictures out of the boat in the water with the beautiful scenery. Very great and a worth wild experience!

Clear kayaking with Get Up and Go Kayaking was the highlight of my trip to Florida with my husband! Every single local said that we needed to kayak the springs in order to get a true Floridian experience. Our tour guide at Rock Springs, Ashley, was so friendly and made sure we were safe but she didn’t hover over us. She knew the best places to stop and swim. We even jumped off a tree into the springs!!
Absolutely loved the clear kayaks and got the best Instagram pictures!!! I feel like the price was perfect for our amazing experience.
And again, Ashley was so helpful!
The company was super upfront about getting to the location on time and the no refund policy. So there were no surprises!

Thank you so much for exploring with us at Rock Springs while visiting the Sunshine State!! When paddling through Rock Springs, you're instantly transported to paradise!! We're so glad you enjoyed your trip with Ashley on the water. There's nothing like jumping off the trees into the refreshing springs! We appreciate your kind words - we can't wait to explore with you again the next time you visit!

This kayak tour was really amazing, especially for a couple of first time kayakers! Ashley was our guide and did a great job of communicating clearly and sharing her past experiences and encounters with wildlife while on the river. The river was beautiful and changed colors from amber to turquoise in a really unique way along our route. It was a great experience for our anniversary and we're going to venture to more natural springs because of it! Coasting back down the river is well earned after the work you put in on the way up! Highly recommend for beginners, since there's a few breaks along the way too!

Thanks for exploring with us at Rock Springs!! We're so glad you enjoyed your time out there with Ashley! With some unexpected showers, it has turned the water amber and it definitely makes a unique transition into the blue waters at the top of the spring! Haha we couldn't agree more!! The float down is so rewarding after the paddle up to the top. So glad you enjoyed your tour!! Hope to explore again soon :)

My family and I did this excursion on a whim while on a trip in Orlando. It was the greatest part of a trip, far better than any of the theme parks we visited. We kayaked at the Rock Springs location. It was about an hour away from Orlando, but well wroth the trip.
Our tour guide was Penny and she was so unbelievably friendly, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. She knew where the local wildlife would hang out and tailored the tour specifically to our interests (I'm obsessed with turtles and she pointed out 6+ for me to see). She also took our phones to take pictures of us in the pretty locations and some action shots while we were kayaking. There's several locations where you can get out and swim, jump, or swing. Absolutely amazing. Would definitely go again!

It was a beautiful place, and the 9:00 departure time was ideal, not too hot, the sun still lower in the sky. I was disappointed because, although the instructions were very clear about arriving 15 min early, we ended up having to wait an extra 10 min after 9:00 for others who were registered for that same time slot before we could get started. We could have traveled further during the 2 hour period if we did not have to wait for the others. The guide was nice, but did not add much to the experience. The back support in the kayaks was the main reason we chose this place, We were happy about the comfort provided. However, if you don't need a comfortable back support, I would recommend renting from the place that departs at same location and going without a guide for about half the price, Also, the idea of a clear kayak seems cool, but the bottoms of the kayaks are a bit scratched up, so visibility was not really the best. I did most of my viewing of the water from over the side of the boat anyway.

We’re so glad you enjoyed your 9am departure time - the morning tours tend to have less water traffic and we’re so glad you had a blast. We were in communication with the guest and sometimes if guests send us their ETA, we will wait for a few minutes if anyone is running a few minutes behind but we always still provide everyone with the full experience on the water. Waiting the additional 10 minutes doesn’t cut into the tour time! Our guides are local natives and have thousands of 5-star reviews. They’re there to answer questions, talk about the history of waterway, any wildlife you come across, or if anyone is a first timer and need additional help. so it saddens us that you thought they weren’t adding much to the experience. Our kayak seats do have a bottom and a back to them, and we have extra cushions we add to the bottom of the seat for our guests. We take the upkeep of our kayaks seriously and always replace them to maintain our standards for our clear kayaks. We will pass this along to our team to ensure this is taken care of. We’re glad you still enjoyed your time with us!

Recently went on a kayak tour for my friends 30th birthday. Let me just say the customer service from beginning to end was incredible. From the kind Karen helping us with our reservation to the amazing tour guide Chris. The trip was so much fun even for an inexperienced kayaker like myself. Chris was very informative and engaging teaching us about the local treasures. We had various level kayakers in our group and he ensured everyone had a great time with no man left behind lol. This is defiantly an experience I can’t wait to do again. Thanks again Chris.

We went on this tour because we liked being outside enjoying the great weather. The clear kayaks were a bonus. The water was crystal clear everywhere and you could get out into the water at multiple places. We saw turtles, birds and fish. We were able to paddle at our own pace which was great. Our guide was very informative and gave us in site into the spring. My only advice is use the restroom before you get there. The facilities are quite primitive but they do have them if you are in a bind. Also get there at least 15mins early and be ready to go at your allotted time. Our tour started out 1/2 late not due to our guide but to people showing up late and or needing to go to the bathroom or get a drink etc. Please be courteous. A definite respite from the hustle and bustle of the parks.
