Dudley, our driver guide, was a wealth of island knowledge. We went up high several times to overlook the harbor and other features. Communication in the days up to the tour was very good, all questions were answered. Our tour guide Letty was a wealth of historical and island information. Having come as a tourist and stayed for 34 years (I think it was 34), she knew everyone we drove by as much as she could tell us all the intricacies, gossip, and secrets of the island and its inhabitants. She educated us on the road, the buildings, fun things on the island, the wildlife, nature, and the culture of the people. I would highly recommend this two-hour tour.Written April 23, 2022

I thought because we were on a bus that the ride would be smooth but it was rough and rugged for a city tour. It's a great opportunity to explore for first timers.Written April 16, 2021

I highly recommend this tour when visiting Catalina. Elizabeth, the owner/guide,
was full of local history, including legendary stories about the Wrigley family who
still own homes on the island. She was extremely accommodating and personal and
never failed to adjust her schedule to fit any of our additional requests. My husband
and I have experienced numerous tour guides in our extensive travels and I have to say that Elizabeth is one of the best. Kudos to you, Elizabeth, for running such
a fun and informative operation!

Elizabeth was SO NICE and I LOVED the entire experience. I booked a romantic tour for my gf, as a surprise, and honestly it couldn’t have been better.
Elizabeth made the booking process enjoyable, making sure we the flowers were right, the food was right (my gf is vegan), and the music was right. She picked us up right on time, delivered a fun, informative, and enjoyable tour and kept the surprise perfectly concealed until the end. She also made sure to remind me to bring warm clothes as it did get quite chilly up on the hills.
Everyone was so nice and accommodating. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to experience something special during their visit to Catalina Island.

I took my girlfriend and her son to Catalina for her birthday and chose to take a private guided tour. Our tour guide was fantastic. She had complete knowledge of the island and showed us many informative about the island’s history that we had no idea of. I’d highly recommend if you’re going to take a tour of Catalina Island, Use Catalina Private Tours. It cost a little bit more than the group tours but it’s well worth it.

Our tour guide/driver was Dudley, a local, lifelong resident of Catalina. He regaled us for over two hours with descriptions, stories, memories and history of Catalina. It was worth every penny as we would never have enjoyed the trip anywhere nearly as much if we were driving ourselves. He had such a rich personal history of his own life on the island that was interwoven with the overall happenings on the island over the years. It made our visit to Catalina special and something to remember for a long time.

My tour guide is super nice. His name is Dudge. Although he is old, he works on his heart. He is very nice, kind and enthusiastic. He gave us water, soda, fruit juices, snack, kid toys, Catalina medals, etc. for free. He also gave us a lot of knowledge about Catalina island's history and places. Although the tour is only around Avalon City, I feel it is enough for 2 hours travelling. The tour company is also very good. They contact me very soon and ask me whether I want to change the schedule to fit with my departure. I and my family are very satisfied with this tour.

Elizabeth was a wealth of information and incredibly personable. We enjoyed the entire experience and really made our trip to the island more memorable. Her knowledge and life experience living on the island for decades was so valuable and rich. We appreciated her time and highly recommend doing the tour to get better insight into the history and culture of Catalina. We would have never experienced the island past the downtown and benefited from her knowledge. She drove us to parts of the island we wouldn't have accessed had we rented a golf cart on our own. I highly recommend her tour and she is very hospitable and accommodating the entire time. Elizabeth was very respectful and friendly and it was the highlight of our trip to Catalina Island.

On 22 May 2021, on our first visit to Catalina Island, we decided to book the golf cart tour. I admit, that I was not sure that this would be worth the money on such a small island. Boy, was I wrong.
We were picked up at the meeting place by our guide Audra on time. Here was a woman who was a live wire. She was full of energy, very friendly and very knowledgeable about the island to include her personal memories and experiences. She took her time explaining things. She knew where to stop and get the best pictures. She was willing to stop anywhere we ask for pictures and to take them.
She taught us so much about the history of the island, the people who live there and the outlook for the future. If you want to know more about this lovely 😍island and get away and see more. Then I highly recommend 👌this tour. It is 2 hours well spent.

Dudley led a fantastic tour of the island for our family. The kids remained thoroughly entertained (ages 13, 10 and 6) as we drove around the windy roads throughout the Avalon area. Dudley has been on the island most of his life and provided us with a ton of information and we had plenty of time to get out of the golf carts to take some family photos and scenic shots. He was also accommodating in providing us with restaurant recommendations and suggestions on other things to do on the island. I am very happy we decided to do this tour versus renting a golf cart and trying to tour the island ourselves.

We had a great time! After reading the reviews we were hoping for Dudley…. and we got him!!! Very relaxing and informative 2 hours by golf cart, and Dudley was very considerate and pleasant to be around. I also wanted to mention the company/ management team. They were very accommodating in changing our time (we had a conflict with the ferry schedule). Thank you all!

This was such a great experience!! Dudley was a wonderful tour guide as he drove us around the beautiful city of Avalon and gave us so many interesting facts about the island. He was very personable and even offered blankets for the cool weather and water. Just a few highlights of our tour included seeing the Wrigley Mansion, the old Chicago Cub training field, The Casino, Pet cemetery and so much more!! We captured some amazing views and Dudley was kind enough to take pictures of us with the beautiful island scenery in the background. Highly recommend this tour.

The port is a tender port so you’ll take the tender in to the dock and they can pick you up there. We walked a little further away from the crowds.

Where is a good spot for you to pick us up? We are coming in from Dana Point for the day in April, and since we have never been there, I would think someplace in town would be the correct answer. Can you please suggest a good place in the shopping district to pick us up?
