- kathleensD9745FJ0 contributionsDisneyland at Christmas Time is the BestDisneyland during the Holidays (mid November-early January) is the best. It's so beautiful and lit up and full of holiday cheer. Great food, characters, rides, vibes. We love it. It's important to learn all about Lightening Lanes in advance and to get there 1 hour before the Park opens so you are in the best position to get on all the major rides early. We do that every time and we never have problems with long lines. Love the holiday parade and fireworks and world of color show. Love eating at Bengal Barbecue and Docking Bay 7 and baked potato at Troubadour Tavern - and the popcorn and churro toffee are something we always get - and churros too. We love nigh time lights on Disneyland Main Street and New Orleans Square and at Cars Land in California Adventure.Written December 8, 2024
- stephenpT4717PR0 contributionsCast members a thing of the pastRemember when CAST member meant something. The employees played parts in every land, at every ride. They asked you how our day was. It really set Disney apart from six flags etc because they were CAST members. They made it fun. Sadly that is gone. I have visited Disneyland since the 70's. So everyone that is 30 or under may disagree with me, but that is because they never got to experience the magic the way i did. As a kid, as a father, and now a grandfather. WE visited last week for a couple days with my granddaughter. I noticed that there were plenty of employees just no cast members. At every venue, no one went out of their way to ask us how are day was, where we were from, or who our favorite characters were, etc. They did talk among fellow employees, but really no interaction with us, the customer. This is how it is at every business etc. But its not suppose to be this way at Disney. We were waiting to go into the Star wars Cantina, first in line with three employees feet away, including a manager. Not one went out of there way to even talk to us. We just stood there listening to the conversations they were having co worker to co worker about the party they went to. This is one example of what happened everywhere for two straight days. The workers didnt seem to want to be at work. No energy or excitment. And for you that are too young, this is something that was so special about Disney. I understand after covid it is difficult to find people who want to work. And I understand Disney has to have workers. So i understand in not being able to hire CAST members like the past. It just really made this an expensive, not very magical visit. It was sad to see this since this is what really made Disneyland such a magical place.Written December 7, 2024
- AFMAN9990 contributionsAn enjoyable visit to the first ever Disney park! This was my first visit to the original, first ever Disney park, Disneyland! I had a very enjoyable experience in this park over the 3 days I spent exploring everything the park has to offer! I love how the characters freely roam! There are plenty of delicious dining options and so many fun attractions to enjoy! It was great to visit during the Halloween season and see everything decorated, it felt so immersive! I am definitely looking forward to my next visit at Disneyland! I definitely recommend!Written December 7, 2024
- B H0 contributionsIt’s Disneyland, of course it’s five stars! The rides and the immersion in this park is just top notch in my opinion. We rode a lot of rides here, but our favorites were Rise of the Resistance, Finding Nemo Submarine Tour, Star Tours, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Everything else here was decent and great. We ❤️ DisneylandWritten December 6, 2024
- Jet444695942650 contributionsA picturistic worldGreat to see the wonderful world of Disney come to life from all the books we read and shared. Now we know what a castle is, and a princess looks like, talks like, a pirate walks like, a goofy dance like. Great rides suitable for all family members to enjoy and cherish.Written December 5, 2024
- L5677KOsusanc0 contributionsFinancial abuse, dangerous crowd sizeMy experience with Disney was extremely disappointing to say the least. Customer service is nonexistent. Disney is responsible for financial abuse and negligence. Dangerously overcrowded and expensive. What you get is very long lines, limited food options non respondent customer service.Written December 3, 2024
- Claireleecherry0 contributionsSet your expectations accordingly and have a great time!It is what you make of it. On a good day, it is busy. On a trying day, it is insanely crowded and shoulder to shoulder with strangers. We knew we would not get to do all of the rides. We decided to pick 1-2 rides that we each really wanted to do and then take joy in Disney magic. When crowds got suffocating, we sought refuge at restaurants, treats, Tom Sawyer island, Tiki Room, Mark Twain River Boat, and train. We played games, trivia, and enjoyed treats while waiting for rides. I wish it required less planning. Kiddo wanted to hold my hands and hug and sometimes I had to pull away to book rides. But, we had many special moments. We did not over plan. We did not try to fight the crowd for fireworks or shows. We tried to avoid crowds and saw the fireworks at different corners of the park. Some guests were not nice, but most people were kind. Bathrooms were dirty at places. There are so many people and the cleaning crew couldn’t keep up but it is fine. I have seen worse bathrooms before. I do wish Disney didn’t pack the park so much during the busy times. The park is absolutely magical at night with all of the holiday decorations. It is not the park I remember from the 90s but I feel that we can still have a great time and my kid was enchanted. We didn’t get to do all the rides but we had a quality family time during this shared experience.Written November 27, 2024
- elenasT6205DF0 contributionsThe unhappiest place on earthI would never go again. Disney is prioritizing profit over customer experience. The day we went, we couldn’t even move on the walkways. There is crowded and then there is so crowded the facilities and amenities cannot accommodate and Disney has completely crossed this line. I’m told by customer services that they don’t ever issues refunds but we went for a full day and didn’t ride any more than 3 rides and see two characters and didn’t eat anything because basically everything was a 2 hour minimum wait. Totally unacceptable experience.Written November 22, 2024
- jaydeenv0 contributionsThe Magic is Gone.Happiest Place on Earth? I think not. Imagine crowds so thick that you literally cannot walk. It’s like being in the middle of a herd all day long. Wait times for rides are unacceptable unless you purchase lightening lanes, which we did. But the act of just getting from one place to another is unbearable. I’ve been going to Disneyland for 55 years now. It has become progressively worse over time. This visit was a Sunday-Tuesday which have traditionally been lighter days, but no longer. For me, the magic is gone. I’m done.Written November 22, 2024
- Allison B0 contributionsMagical ExperienceI would not advise to do this without the help of a Disney planner. Even with a written itinerary from a seasoned agent, Disney parks is no joke! Is it busy? Of course it is! It’s the most popular attraction in the world for families and adults alike! But if you’re there to truly immerse yourself in what Disney has to offer, you will have a great time. Lightening lanes were useless in my opinion, with stand-by lines often having shorter and closer wait-times than if you booked a lightening lane for an hour or more away. 60 minute wait times for certain rides were difficult, especially with children. Disney should consider how to make such rides more functional for the amount of visitors they have daily. Cast members were inconsistent in nature, with some providing curt/incorrect location directions vs staff who would go out of their way to walk us to where we needed to go. Disney should have more signs available throughout the parks to help families more easily navigate the parks and to take additional strain off their cast members. Though a map is made available, it is not user friendly if it’s your first time. I only noted on our second day that you can use the location tab on the mobile app to see where you are and how to get where you need to go. This would have saved us so much time and energy. Bathrooms in the park are well kept. There were at least 2 cleaning ladies in each bathroom I entered who were consistently making their rounds from stall to stall to keep it clean and well stocked. Well done! We went for the Holiday season and it’s an experience we will treasure forever. The fireworks brought my husband to tears while the parade had me equally in tears. We only had two days and though we seen most of the park, a third day would have allowed us to fully experience the park as we did miss some rides and attractions. We can’t wait to be back to experience more Disney magic!Written November 19, 2024
- Kel C0 contributionsDisneyland is a much smaller gem.We are Disney world fans. I must say Disneyland is very enjoyable. Different and much closer together but while there are many things the same but enough different to make everything amazing. While I would not make a special trip to California for Disneyland , I would definitely go there if I was in California for some reason.Written November 16, 2024
- DutchMachine0 contributionsOverpriced, Overcrowded, but gotta do it onceOverpriced tickets, overcrowded parks, crazy expensive food, drink & souvenirs. The experience obviously is cool for kids. However, when you need to reserve park dates you would think that the crowds are a bit more manageble. 2 hour wait times for certain rides is crazy. Unless off course you want to upgrade your experience for a lot of money so you can skip a line. Disney sure knows how to take your money and how to take it fast. Unfortunately the breakdown of rides takes away from the expected busy experience. Gotta do it once with the kids, but not sure I would be interested in doing it again for the price they charge.Written November 15, 2024

- solo22650 contributionsOur trip to Disneyland, LA.What more is there to say? Visiting Disneyland has always been our childhood dream, and finally, after more than 50 years of waiting, we made it! Better late than never, right? We went on a weekday, yet it was understandably crowded. The security check and entrance process were smooth and efficient. We initially bought regular one-park tickets, but seeing the crowds, we opted to add the Lightning Pass. It was a great decision, saving us a lot of time, as we only had one day to explore. Entering the park, we noticed that the Disney Main Railroad was closed for repairs. We headed down Main Street to the Sleeping Beauty Castle and then to Fantasyland. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Adventureland were absolute highlights! We also visited the Haunted Mansion, where the Virtual Queue was a brilliant option—allowing us to enjoy other attractions while waiting for our spot. The wind was quite strong that day, making the evening pretty chilly, but thankfully, we brought our sweaters. We managed to experience many classic and fan-favorite attractions, though "It's a Small World" was also closed for refurbishment. We stayed until 9:30 PM, eagerly waiting for the laser light show since there was no parade or fireworks that night. Still, we enjoyed every second, fulfilling a dream we've held since childhood.Written November 12, 2024

Genie+ is worth it. I passed last time as we were a family of nine and I didn't want to drop another $300 for the day. This time it was just the wife and myself, we ordered the genie+ and rode all the good rides with a longest wait of 15 minutes. Using the Disney app for the park we were able to snag a reservation for the blue bayou restaurant. And within the app there are genie+ photo filters that are extra fun.
The place is just too crowded.

Disneyland continues to deteriorate while raising ticket prices. One ride is under construction and three major rides (pirates of the Caribbean, Matterhorn and rise of the resistance) stopped due to malfunction….some after waiting inline for more than 45 minutes. Firework was cancelled due to wind conditions. Even though they have less rides available they still admit and sell pricey tickets to large number of visitors causing excessive waiting times. . This visit wins the worst time in Disneyland over more than 40 years of coming to this park. I hope Disneyland management can stop this deterioration and restore the good old smooth, pleasant and efficient environment.

Disneyland is broken. We waited in line on numerous occasions and then they announce the ride is broken. We got physically stuck on the Star Wars ride and they had to evacuate us. They give you a lightning pass to compensate but how does that help when it’s the end of the day and everything is shutting down. You pay money for a genie pass but times are never available until like 3-4 hours after you wanna book it. It’s a horrible experience. And California Adventure is no better. We waited in line for the River Ride and then it broke too. We decided to wait it out and eventually it started again. But then someone decided to jump off the raft and they had to shut it down with us at the top of the mountain in the ride. We had to be evacuated yet again off another ride. Worst Disney experience I ever had and makes me think twice about coming here again. So much much and so disappointing.

This is a classic park with something for everyone to enjoy. Chances are, it is going to be crowded. Their Geanie+ service lets you reserve an express lane entrance to rides and is convenient to use, but there is a learning curve. The park is divided into different areas. Star Wars is sort of in two different areas, with the newer one, Galaxy's Edge, devoted to the new movies. Not all rides are for all ages of kids. This trip, I really enjoyed the food.

Overall, my visit to Disneyland in April 2024 was poor. I hadn't been in ten years and decided to finally go. I was disappointed from the get go. When we arrived at 11am on a Sunday, it was a 30 minute wait in the car just to pay for parking. That was unbelievable and I had to use the bathroom since the water I drank couldn't wait any longer. They need to do something about that, but they won't or they would've by now. If people have any kind of annual pass or magic key, then Disneyland should have a separate entrance for those people. Very disorganized.
Luckily, going through security was quick and entering the actual park. By the time we were entering the park it was already an hour after we arrived at the parking structure. Seriously?
Inside the park, it was already crowded. Rides were an hour wait on average like Space Mountain, Rise of the Resistance, Matterhorn, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Train, Peter Pan, Thunder Mountain, Indiana Jones.
Alice in Wonderland said 20 minutes, but then they were letting all of these fast pass genie whatever people in. Normally that's fine, but they were doing it for a half hour. So the wait ended up being an hour. Ridiculous. Plus the Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain were closed for most of 2024 to do a refurbishment and make theme changes to Splash Mountain that no one asked for.
One obnoxious guy nearly knocked me over to race to get in line for the Pirate's of the Caribbean. That line was short, so not sure why that arrogant person was rushing. There was no one in front of him. An obnoxious woman cut us off nearly knocking me over to get into the line for King Arthur's Carousel. Neither of those people had the decency to at least say, "Sorry about that". Or "Excuse me." It's just a ride, calm down. Then another obnoxious man ran into me and pushed me aside with his body, which as you know is assault. Disneyland did nothing as they don't care.
The Disney experience is nothing like it used to be in the 1980's and 1990's. I realize it started to go downhill once they built California Adventure as that's when the out of control crowds started growing each year. It's also why I hadn't been in ten years after 2014. I just had enough of that. Don't know why I thought it would've changed by then, but no it's actually worse. There are no days that have low crowds. They need to stop selling annual passes and discounted tickets as that's not necessary anymore. It's too crowded for that. If they cut those out, the crowds will drop dramatically.
I'm willing to pay more if I know the park isn't crowded. I used to have annual passes too. Throughout the 1990's when I had a pass, no one had them, it was unusual to have it. And the park was always empty, magical and enjoyable. That's no longer the case. What makes the park not magical are the horrible people that go there now. Just rude low quality people. And I know I'm not alone. Just read some of the other reviews complaining about the same thing. It's not a safe place to go to anymore. If you love overpriced tickets to stand in long hour wait times and wall to wall people all over the park that there is no place to clear you mind, then this place is for you.
