Definitely a huge mark up on everything and not like I remember it, the Disney genie would be something I would recommend to purchase so you’re not standing in line, but it seems like they are doing trial and error with this Genie plus as the app sometimes is buggy and changes on a dime. Wait times just like that. You can expect to wait between a minimum of one to two hours, especially on a Monday or a Tuesday.

I would highly suggest mobile ordering and if you are wanting beignets you need to order them from the mint julep café, but it is more or less an hour away. If you want to get reservations at blue Bayou, you will need to book at least a month in advance. The Pirates of the Caribbean ride was remarkable and I really liked the update as well as the haunted mansion nightmare before Christmas during Halloween, overall Disney seems to mark up and they don’t seem to care on the prices as you can expect to pay anywhere between 20 to 30 per meal per food item and at least $50 and up for clothing. The food is unique, and I highly recommend stopping at Main Street where they have mac & cheese, chili, in a sourdough bread bowl as well as a ton of desserts next-door to the holly jolly café. I would highly suggest watching some YouTube videos before you go if you are going to be a foodie like I was🥹

We’ve gone twice in the span of a month (second weekend of November and third weekend of December) and it is packed in these parks. If you are worried about crowds, you should NOT go to Disneyland. A good portion of people are wearing masks, but not everyone even though you are being asked to wear them anywhere indoors. The staff is fantastic and they are doing their best, but you can tell there are less staff than normal. If you go to Disneyland from here forward I would recommend you take advantage of Genie+, if you can afford it. It makes the day so much less stressful. Having been to Disneyland at least a hundred times, I hate that they are charging for quick access to their rides, but I can say it really made the day so much better. The strategy we used was to go to Fantasyland for the first hour, do as many rides as we could in there then start doing some of our lightening lanes starting with Space Mountain then start working our way through New Orleans Square, Critter Country, and into Galaxy’s Edge. We ate lunch in Batuu and then committed to the hour wait for Rise of the Resistance. Rise of Resistance is a must do attraction, the wait was totally worth it and not so bad even with 4 young kids. We then made our way towards Fantasyland to watch the Holiday Parade. After that we did Big Thunder Mountain and then we did the remaining rides in Tomorrowland, using the lightening lane for each. We then got some dinner and did Small World and ToonTown. Our group then split and the moms and the littlest kids got on the train and headed to the Tiki Room while the dads and our eldest daughter did a lightening lane for Indiana Jones. We went shopping and waited at the end of Main Street for the fireworks. This was the time where we realized how busy it was, there were people lined up almost to the end of Main Street to watch the fireworks! From rope drop fo fireworks, we enjoyed over 20+ attractions and experiences and weren’t stressed or angry. We literally waited no more than 10-15 for each ride with the lightening lane.
It was very possibly one of our best experiences in Disneyland, definitely at the top with kids!

Disappointing trip

Just got back from Disneyland. For context I have been to Disneyland every even year for close to 16 years with the exception of Covid we went to Disney World. It was probably the worst time I have ever had. Yes inflation is real prices are always going up no fun. If your not comfortable with having your credit card info in a private app or using apps Disneyland is becoming unfriendly to you. Staff is not understanding if your not savvy with your phone. More rides broke down in the 4 days we were there then the past 16 years combined and only once (on rise of the resistance) did we get a lightning pass to come back after sitting in line for 150 minutes for a ride stated 65 min and the second breakdown was half way through the ride. Them return in stated hours to use lightning pass to find a line longer then a hour wait. 3 hours in I finally get on spider man stated 65 min wait. 3 attempts to splash mountain no go due to breakdowns after 30 to 40 min each time. You name the ride it was down multiple times. Then it rained 2 days in a row no worries a little water never hurt but all out door rides get shut down "what" between waiting in lines that were for rides that would not happen, three times longer then stated or the multiple people that were to large to ride but held up lines to wedge in then having to pulled out it was a never ending nightmare. Endless cutting from. Large groups who sent 1 or 2 people to multiple rides to stand in line to then have 5 or more join them when they were closer then half way to the front made lines not move. I tried to find a reason for all the trouble some locals said lack of staff, well if that is so why was there 4 people standing at doors to broken rides doing nothing. 3 people telling you they can't answer questions about restaurants you need to look on the app. 5 people walked around the steam train to move a stated piece of bamboo off the tracks for 30 min. At one food cart the person working was so obese they couldnt even get the cooler open while sitting on their stool until failing 3 times and they finally got up. Oh but wait if paying hundreds of dollars a day wasn't enough if you want to have a chance to ride everything in 2 to 4 days it can be done for a "small" extra fee for genies and lightening passes. Welcome to the "Spirit Airlines" of amusement parks where everything that used to be included now cost extra. Hoping this was a fluke but from many if the reviews this passed month it doesn't look like it. Also rules don't seem to apply to all. The web site stated no selfie sticks or wagon strollers with multiple people being told at my gate no only to find that multiple people having both everywhere you went. 😒

Paid the regular price to enter the park (about $400 for a 3 day hopper. If you have the money you can pay extra and get a "lightning pass" to get priority on rides. While standing in very long lines (one was over 2.5 hours you are watching hundreds and hundreds of lightning pass holders walk by while your line barely moves. So the people that have the money get to ride more rides and wait a fraction of the time while dramatically increasing the wait time for the regular ticket holders. Was very frustrating and made me angry.
Greedy Disney should be sued for de valuing my ticket by 30-50% because of the extra wait times.
I do not recommend Disneyland unless you want to spend the whole day standing in lines and only getting on 1 ride every 2 hours because of the lightning pass holders.

Visited Anaheim Disneyland April 7, 2022. We’re a family of Disney fanatics and have been many times before Covid. We found the park much changed.

Disney is limiting the amount of guests. Make sure you have reservations before going there. A one day, one park ticket varies in cost depending when you go. To avoid standing in long ride lines you need to purchase “Genie Service” for an extra $20 per person. We had 6 in our party for an additional $120 above the park tickets. Genie Service works similar to the old “fast pass” tickets which were free. The new Star Wars ride cost an additional $20 per person if you want to ride it.

Table Service restaurants get booked months in advance. If you can’t get a reservation you take a chance of going on a “wait list”. Do that when you first arrive for the best chance for a table service restaurant. You are required to hold the reservation with a credit card. No shows lose the holding fee. The other options are fast foods; burgers, pizzas, etc.

We found the majority of Disney cast members cold. They did their job and that’s it. The happy smiling faces are gone. I believe part of this is they’re overworked and paying guests are unable to get the service they once did so Disney cast members get the heat.

Not sure if Disney World is experiencing the same issues (yes we used to go there once a year too), but Anaheim Disney isn’t the park we once knew. Would we go back? Probably, but only when we have out of town visitors who always ask to go. But to go regularly as we once did, no. Not until Disney stops nickel and diming visitors and gets organized. Hopefully now that the pandemic is behind us Disney will get back to being the “Happiest Place On Earth” rather than the “Priciest Place On Earth”.

I accidentially double-purchased (already over-priced) tickets for my family and spent 4+ hours (same day) on hold pleading with various people to refund one set of tickets. They refused and just kept repeating their policy that the tickets are non-refundable. I have no respect for an organization that refuses to hear out its customers and have any flexibility from their rigid policy. There is almost no other industry that works this way. Even airlines always let you cancel purchased flights within 24 hours.

I have never been anywhere so crowded in my life. The lines for everything are way too long and you can hardly walk in any direction without being in a sea of people. (If you have any Covid crowd anxiety stay away. Most people wear masks but not all and you are really packed in tight inside while waiting to get on the rides. ) The rides were fun but the wait times and crowds really ruin the experience. The genie + and lightening lane worked well on a few rides but isn’t available for everything, which we understood beforehand. It’s annoying when it’s 11am and you want to use lightening lane for something to avoid the lines and the next time slots are 2pm or later and you can only book one lightening lane ride at a time. Also, as other reviewers said, the lines for food are no joke. You need to mobile order your food before lunch and dinner time or the wait is an hour +. Most people expect to pay an arm and a leg for food in the park but waiting an hour + for anything and everything is just a pain. It seems like everything is just a hassle and for the prices it should just be easier. Try grabbing a coffee, you’ll spend 45 minutes of your day in a 75 person line, it’s just a pain and it’s frankly not worth it.

I love Disney and I always have but this will absolutely be my last trip for a long time. The magic is gone. The rides breakdown way too much and the lines for every attraction are outrageous.

They know when they let that many people into the park, that the experience will be bad. No way do my kids want to wait in a line almost an hour for every ride! Even Small World had a 45+ minute wait. Every one is grouchy… the cast members do not seem happy or knowledgeable. I asked 5 different people about a meet and greet and got a different answer from every single one.

The Genie+ makes it impossible to be present and in the moment. Not to mention, the price!!!! We pay hundreds of dollars to get into the park and then they want another couple of hundred to use genie and then another hundred for individual attractions. We could have gone on a really nice vacation anywhere else for the price we paid and my kids were ready to leave the park by 11:30 am bc the crowds and the lines were not manageable. I actually hated being there. There is no magic left and I feel disillusioned and let down. I’ve never been so ready for a “vacation” to end.

This is the first time Disneyland performed very poorly, I have been going there for 10 years but this year I do not know what is going on there. A lot of malfunction issues with the rides, I waited 1 hour extra in Star War Raise of The resistance because of a malfunction issue which put my waiting for this ride 3 hours. Unfortunately this was not an isolated incident. There were malfunction issues all over the place. On top of that, they included a lightning lane where some people paid $18 in advance, they can go ahead of you in the line, I am sick and tired of being nickeled and dimed. After 10 years of going there on the regular, I am considering to stop no more.

We have been life long Disney fans and spend, on average, $5K per visit. However this time our experiences made my wife cry from sadness to see the place going to ….. Way too many people, unfair reservation services, three hour long lines for some attractions, reduced quality of service and resort rooms, and instead of fixing it, they make ridiculous claims and complain about their guests. On top of that, civil law suits for incorrect advertising of their benefits to key holders. After fifty years, we’ve had enough.
