Great tour!
Jul 2021
Great company! All of the guides are so down-to-earth and so knowledgeable! Our guide, Ingeborg knew so much about all of the memorials, the landscape, and the area. Kept everyone as engaged and cool as possible on a sweltering DC day. I loved learning both the basics and the insider details that the locals know.

Great day in DC
We actually did two tours in one day with this great company. First, I organized both tours the day before we arrived. I probably wouldn’t recommend this approach if it wasn’t during the pandemic as I doubt they can accommodate late requests during normal busy periods. In the morning we had a private tour with Colin in historic Georgetown. He’s such an interesting and intelligent young man. Thoroughly enjoyed our two hours in this beautiful part of Washington. In the afternoon, we signed up for a group tour of the monuments. Lucky for us, it turned out to be a private tour with not one but three great guides! We had a fabulous tour with Emilia and family (!) today. This lovely lady had her month old son with her along with her tour guide husband, Stephen and good friend, Cash, who also work as guides. They didn’t miss a beat! They were all engaging, thoughtful guides who gave us a great intro to the memorials in DC. So happy we did this tour with them!

We did two tours with Boglarka. She was extremely knowledgeable, funny and engaging. Boglarka’s knowledge of not only the specific monuments but also the more in-depth history of DC and the USA should be highly commended. I‘ll be recommending Boglarka and Free Tours by Foot to everyone back home in Australia.

Jul 2019
On a tour to USA involving Washington DC and Virginia. Stayed in some excellent hotels, ate in good restaurants and had many positive experiences. Free tours is an excellent way to get the feel for a city. Ingeborg was the guide and interacted very well with the group. A two hour tour finished in the dark at the Lincoln memorial. How exciting. Fabulous stories and anecdotes from a great guide.

Free Tours By Foot walking tour
Jun 2019 • Friends
We really enjoyed this walking tour of the monuments and memorials around the National Mall. The pace was reasonable, with good detail at each stop and 10 minutes at each memorial independently. (Korean War Memorial, WW II War Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Vietnam Memorial). The weather was hot, and our guide, Becca, was careful to find a shady spot for her talk at each stop.

DC by Foot on a Bus!
Apr 2019 • Family
Our group was 12, thirteen year old girls and 8 moms, seeing DC by night. I set up our trip through Canden and our guide was Ingeborg. IT WAS OUTSTANDING! Ingeborg was in touch often to confirm details. She was flexible and patient and smart and entertaining. She kept the girls’ attention with awesome historical facts and wowed us with her knowledge of the sites and their importance. She customized our plans throughout the evening tour to accommodate everyone. Four hours sounds like a long time, but it flew by! I highly recommend DC By Foot, even if you’ve seen the sites. Seeing the monuments at night and at dusk is a completely different experience. And seeing them with Ingeborg was like being in a walking classroom.
