About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 532eirinp0 contributionsAmazing volume of informationGreat information and I highly recommend this informative tour if it had stayed on schedule. Blew my mind on the volume of information and history that was shared. Downside however was the tour guide arrived :35 min late. Since I had a train to catch :45 min after the tour was supposed to end this left me with less than :15 to get to the train station which forced me to leave the tour early and spend an extra $25 to get an Uber to the train station from the Lincoln memorial missing the end of the tour. This ruined my experience as I was counting on a timely tour schedule.Written January 20, 2025
- Aaron1Tovish0 contributionsTrust the Vivu folks to make you tri-p to Vietnam memorable.Kim did a great job, finding us good drivers and guides. She listened to our requests and she made very good suggestions. Everything went very smoothly. My wife and I enjoyed out time in Hanoi, Nihn Bihn, Hue, Hao An and Da Nang. Kim, keep up the good work!Written February 6, 2024
- Tunde J0 contributionsExcellentI really had a great time with Tunde, he really made my tour enjoyable and I will always remember that. It was wonderfully wonderful.Written January 2, 2023
- adeoluwaL0 contributionsAwesome experienceI had a wonderful time, I haven't gotten over my tour experience. I was fascinated my the monuments and the many detailed stories accompaning each location told by the tour guide. In my opinion they are very professional at what they do. He was patient enough to take us down the history lane. It's really worth the amount. I look forward to visiting again.Written January 2, 2023
- juliarU9570LT0 contributionsWas not interested in the politics views of the driverWe were lucky to book the tour in the less then 24 h before the event. It was nice to drive around in the luxury van. However it was not much of the tour. It was pointing to the buildings with 2-3 sentences or less for the description. No historical references. No interesting fact to tell. No story of any kind. Also, assumption of the driver that everybody in the group share his political views was unprofessional at best. I had no interest to know what he think about former president!!Written October 2, 2022
- kathy o0 contributionsBEWARE!Please find another company to use. And, please read ALL the reviews before booking. We paid almost $600 for a private "tour" for four. He did nothing but drive us around. He gave no suggestions or information about DC or the Monuments. Never left the vehicle. He took us to the National Cathedral...they were closed. Shouldn't he have known that? BTW..he confessed he didn't actually work for the company. He was subcontracted. BEWARE!Written September 11, 2022
- GoZillaGo0 contributionsRemoved All Stress from seeing DCOur tour had to be rescheduled due to a lightening storm taking place at the same time as our tour. They didn’t want to and it was a bit of an effort to get it done, but they did reschedule. It is more of a fast paced pointing tour. Yes in a sense it’s a glorified Uber driver if that driver is a private chauffeur with historic knowledge and a GOS brain. He knew exactly where the closest entrances were. He pointed out and named lots of other buildings as we drove around. We just sat back and enjoyed the ride. We didn’t have to fight parking or stressful traffic. He took us to the monument, dropped us off close, waited while we walked around, opened the doors to the amazing air conditioned van, made sure we were happy, then dashed us over to the next one. You decide how long you spend at each monument. Your time determines how many places you go to. We had a 3 hour package and saw 7 monuments. Our driver was amazing! He had bottled water for us - it was literally 100 degrees. We would NEVER have been able to see as much without him. Worth ever single penny.Written August 13, 2022
- FloridaFlyer010 contributionsTerrible And A Total Rip Off!!!Absolutely horrible. This was supposed to be a moonlight "tour". There was no tour and no tour guide. We had a driver who barely spoke and did nothing but drive us to some monuments. Zero history or commentary. When we got into the car, he handed us a book on the monuments and asked where we wanted to go. I asked him if he was an employee of the tour company and he said he was a contractor. This so-called 'tour" was nothing more than a glorified Uber driver driving us around DC. False advertising at best. I will pursue this further as we have been ripped off. Two calls later to Tripadvisor and still waiting. Buyer beware....Written August 6, 2022
- Sightseer7938600 contributionsTerribleThe Company improperly named it a “Tour”which it is was not, that’s false advertisement. The company should not be allow to be in business, they are scamming people. It was no more than a Uber drive, not a tour!! The drive asked us where we wanted to go, if it’s a tour, that should have been already planned out. He stayed in the car, he should of gotten out of the car and gave us a tour with information about the sites. Worst experience and spent a lot of money, very upsetWritten August 2, 2022
- ChristinaH07140 contributionsViewing DC Monuments at Night is a MustI am a little torn by this review and think to be fair I have to separate my experience into two areas. The communication and customer service prior to the actual tour was not good. I reached out to the company two days prior to get confirmation on the pick up time and did not hear anything, so I decide to call them and was treated bad. During the conversation they hung up on me and refused to answer the phone when I called back. I had to reach out to Viator and have them to reach out to the company to confirm the pick up time. I was not expecting much when the driver pulled up. However, I was 100% surprised because Lawrence was fantastic. This was our second DC tour of our trip and we learned so many interesting facts that we never heard from the other tour guides. Lawrence was respectful and helpful. He didn't just drive us to the locations, but also got out of the van and pointed out interesting tidbits and items about the monument locations. I have never seen the monuments at night and I would rank this among the top tours. I went with my 9 year old son and he had a great time as well.Written June 20, 2022
- Zinta S0 contributionsA great first evening in DC!We brought our soon to be 11 year old son to DC for his birthday. We arrived in town about 4pm and didn't want to waste the evening so booked a private evening tour with Tunde and I am so glad we did. We had a great time and learned so much. Saw all the monuments we wanted to see and enjoyed our time with Tunde. Our 11 year old had a blast and that's not always an easy thing to accomplish. Thank you Tunde for the great time. We will recommend you to anyone coming to DC.Written March 11, 2022
- sabrinak1360 contributionsBest Tour of Washington, D.C. Monuments….I planned a very short visit to Washington, D.C. with my son and my niece to celebrate her 15th birthday. Due to the time constraints I wanted to find a way to visit many of the monuments on the National Mall at night with transportation. I found Tours by the Hour online and I knew that this company probably could accommodate us. I paid $328.77 for four and once my friend decided to join us it cost an additional $85.00 which I consider a bargain for a 4 hour tour with transportation to a variety of monuments on a beautiful evening in Washington, D.C. Tunde our driver did an excellent job with getting in touch and accommodating the changes that I had with my reservation. I appreciated his professionalism and his willingness to make sure our tour needs were met. We decided to move the tour up by an hour because we had children in the group. Tunde arrived before our designated time and was very personable and friendly. I was really excited because I knew we were going to have a magnificent evening. Once I saw the U.S. Capital I immediately began to photograph it from the van however, he explained that it was not necessary because we would receive a better view later. He was absolutely correct. The first place that we saw was the Supreme Court building. The building is absolutely a work of art and I was simply taken away not only by its architecture but by the work that takes place in this building everyday. So many groundbreaking cases have been decided in this amazing beautiful building that have lifelong importance for the citizens of the United States. It was a wonderful opportunity for my son to stand on the steps of the Supreme Court where history has been made and will continue to be made. Next, we were taken to the U.S. Capitol which is another architectural masterpiece. Tunde brought us to a spot where we were able to take some amazing photos. We also took a few photos on the lawn of the U. S. Capitol. It truly was an awe inspiring moment for my son who just read a story about the U.S. Capitol to see it in real time. As we traveled to the White House Tunde provided so much information regarding the history of these monuments and Washington, D.C. I truly enjoyed his commentary. Our next stop was to see the White House however, so much has changed since my last visit. We were able to get a bird’s eye view however, due to the barriers we were not allowed on the sidewalk near the White House. That was disappointing but unfortunately those are the current circumstances and by no means a reflection on the tour or our wonderful guide. We then made a stop at the Institute of Science where we had an opportunity to see an enormous statue of Einstein E=mc2. We had such fun taking photos near the statue. We then went to visit the World War II Memorial which has such significant meaning for us because we had the honor of visiting Pearl Harbor in July of this year. This memorial is beautiful at night and we took a moment to reflect about the sacrifices that past and present members of the U.S. military make each day. We also took some time to find Louisiana and the state of Hawaii. Next, we visited one of the most recognized U.S. monuments, the Lincoln Memorial. We had an opportunity to visit the museum prior to taking the elevator upstairs to see the Lincoln Memorial. The museum is quite interesting and visiting takes you on a journey which includes how the museum was built and the vast number of people who have performed or given speeches at this very location. The spot where Dr. Martin Luther King gave his “I Have a Dream” speech is marked for visitors to see. The Lincoln Memorial is iconic and is one monument not to be missed because of its historical significance. We also had an opportunity to learn more significant information from Tunde on our drive to the Jefferson Memorial. Once we arrived there was an opportunity to visit the museum and learn more about Jefferson’s important contribution to the United States. Finally, we visited the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial one that I have been interested in seeing since it was constructed in 2011. Tunde even took time to show us the location of a time capsule before we entered the area of the monument. Our guide Tunde was indeed exceptional!!! He did a stellar job of providing excellent information regarding so many historical moments, providing comfortable transportation, and bringing us to see so many beautiful monuments. Tours by the hour is definitely a great way to enjoy D.C. with your private group. It was so worth the cost because the company adjust to the individual interests of your group. I must say that Tunde went above and beyond to provide us with an experience worth remembering. I definitely made the correct choice when I selected this tour company. Tunde, thank you for your hospitality, knowledge, patience with our kids, and your love of Washington, D.C. that was reflected in our tour. We are so grateful to have met you. We appreciate how you went above and beyond to make our visit to Washington, D.C. one that we will always cherish. As they say in Hawaii….Mahalo. Thank you!!! You are the best!!!!!Written September 17, 2021
- adiem_120 contributionsFrom the beginning. We paid for a family of 5 and mentioned that our daughter had a broken foot. First, they showed up late in a pickup truck. We refused to do a 3 hour tour with 3 across the front of a pickup truck. Then they found a solution and hour later and sent an Uber driver. Literally an Uber driver. The driver, Bernard, drove us around DC, but couldn’t answer a single question, nor tell us about any of the monuments or facts about Washington or the history. He never left the car and I had to wiki everything to teach my kids about the sights. It was a huge scam. I would not trust this tour company. Very shady.Written June 19, 2021
- 378silvanal0 contributionsDC VacationOur tour guide was beyond phenomenal!!! His tour vastly surpassed our expectations. He displayed a remarkable amount of knowledge of all things DC and US history, and even personalizes the tour to what you’re interested in. All of our questions and curiosities were fully answered, and you feel like you’ve lived in DC for years by the time your tour has ended. Eliminating the crowds for a private stroll of the capital is definitely worth it. Unbelievable deal for the price they offer. An 11/10 tour of Washington DC!Written December 30, 2019
- versed880 contributionsMonuments by Moonlight TourOur family had a great time! Tunde was an excellent and entertaining tour guide. We hit the highlights and he gave us plenty of time to get out and take pictures. He also took us to a couple of places that even those of us who had been to DC before hadn’t been. We are still laughing about rubbing Albert Einstein’s nose! This tour was great and completely worth the money! And you miss the crazy crowds!Written October 17, 2019

Tour experience with Fisseha as our guide was great! It was a private tour for our family of 6 ranging in ages from 44 to 13 and we all had a wonderful time. This was absolutely the right choice for seeing all the major buildings, memorials, monuments, and sights in DC. Fisseha's help was clear and organized as he brought us to each location...most of which were places where we could get out and walk around to take in the view and get some memorable pictures. Without question I would take another tour with him in the future.

We were a group of 7 people, teenageres and adults, who spent a whole day with the best guide and driver, Don. Don gave us a tour in and around Washington DC we could never have asked for our selves. We learned a lot in an entertaining way. We have talked about the trip many times since. Thank you Don for giving us a fantastic day:)

Our guide was outstanding. He was full of facts and information that made our tour far better than expected. Their were five of us that went on the tour and each one of us had a different part of the trip we liked. None of us had any part of the tour we did not like.

If you don't want to do public transportation tours......this is the tour for you! Tunde, our tour guide, was right on time (early actually) to our chosen meeting place. He has an excellent sense of humor, and plenty of historical and local knowledge of D.C. He is excellent at navigating and got us where we wanted to go quickly without fuss. We did a whirlwind tour of Arlington National Cemetery and the Monuments, White House, Supreme Court and Capitol. All while in a super cool (so hot outside!!) and comfy SUV. 4 👍👍👍👍 from the 4 of us!

do we get to go inside any of the buildings or do we simply view from the outside?

Hello. A few questions, where do you pick up from? And are there available discounts?

The party consists of two senior citizens, one of which uses a stroller, another adukt and a toddler 2 years old that I would be paying for a full prize ticket. Question is what is needed for the toddler to be able to ride in the van (can you guys provide child seat?) and can the adult stroller (which folds) can be stowed in the van? Also, it says it’s seven hour long twice and 5 hour once. How long is it?
