Great Adventure. Our driver Cole was very knowledgeable, hospitable, and humourous. Would use these guys again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to you too.

Great guide with a wide knowledge of the city.
We did the morning tour. This was an excellent way to get a feel for the city and an overview of the different sites. Our driver and guide who went by the name, Big Red, did an excellent job. We did a hop on hop off tour the day before and wished we had done things in reverse. Either way I would highly recommend this tour, especially if walking is not your thing.

A Wonderful Way to See DC
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and did an amazing job! We did go over on time, but I found that to be a good thing actually. He did a great job of showing us some of the main highlights of DC and had the most fascinating stories and tidbits about the places we visited. We got more than our money's worth, and I highly recommend!

Would prefer more time at Mount Vernon
A good experience, but needed more time to explore Mount Vernon. We appreciated that our guide was willing to drop us off in Alexandria on the way back to DC. We wanted to learn more there & we found our own way back to DC when finished.

      Outstanding tour and guide!
This tour was fantastic, and Robert—our bus driver and tour guide down and back—was extremely knowledgeable and shared so much history, it was amazing. He had us all mesmerized, and we also enjoyed his great sense of humor. While touring Mt. Vernon, there are guides inside the main building who give you a lot of information about the building, the individual rooms, and George and Martha Washington. I really appreciated that the Mt. Vernon guides paid homage to the enslaved people (no longer referred to as “slaves”) who kept the farm and grounds running. They referred to them by name when known, and walking through the cemetery where they were buried in unmarked graves (some are outlined in string) is a very moving experience. When I mentioned to Robert that I would love to spend time in Alexandria and asked if we could get off there on our drive back, he kindly agreed and gave us a few tips about some restaurants and stores. We spent several hours walking through Alexandria Old Town and had a wonderful meal. Then we took a water taxi back to Washington (at Robert’s suggestion). I highly recommend this tour to everyone interested in history and suggest that if possible during tourist season (including spring break), you go early in the day before the crowds arrive.

I would do it again but plan better
The first half of the experience was great.. but bus had broken seat and was very uncomfortable on the bump in the road. One of the ladies was tossed out of her seat. enjoyed the tur guide though. very informative. Also just tell people t eat at Mount Vernon.. there is no wsy to eat in between the two parts but that does cut in to the time at Mt Vernon The second half was a beautiful tour and the bus was comfortable but the tour guide was pretty montone and hard to understand at times.

      Worth every penny!
Our guide Bobby was just amazing. He taught us a lot and was also very funny. My Teo teenagers enjoyed the 3 hour tour. Given the time our train arrived to DC, we couldn’t do any of the organized tours so this option allowed us to start when it was convenient for us. Highly recommended!!!

DO NOT BOOK WITH LOBA TOURS. UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNETHICAL!
DO NOT BOOK WITH LOBA TOURS. UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNETHICAL! Van was scheduled to leave at 7:30 from the Hyatt Capitol Hill. We arrived to the hotel at 6 and had a bite to eat in the hotel lounge. When we went to meet the van, there were 2 vans. Both vans were completely full with customers who were sitting in hot, unconditioned vans with the doors opened. I don't know if they had 7:00 reservations or what the problem was. They were no seats available for my party of 5, another party of 6, and a couple parties of 2. We all sat outside in the sun waiting for some assistance. Eventually, one of the operators came to inform us that we could take the tour another day (which we already had plans as the next day was the 4th of July and my out-of-town guests were leaving on July 5) or we could wait for their owner to come and bring another van. The owner was in Annapolis Maryland, which is a 32 mile, 48 min drive (without traffic) . We had already waited 45 minutes. We decided to leave. One of the employees apologized, said that the entire situation was embarrassing and gave me his owners cell phone#. The owner, Joe, was very unhelpful and argumentative and refused to refund me. I had to get viator involved.

Mount Vernon and Old Alexandria are fantastic places. Unfortunately , the tour started approximately 30 minutes late, the mansion was closed due to annual maintenance as well as the food court, the visit to Old Alexandria was from the van and the driver was not receptive at the moment of our complaints.
The tour guide/driver," resolved the situation" giving us back $7.00 per person from a ticket that cost $80, because of the inconvenience!
Again, the places are beautiful but the tour operator sold us something that obviously we didn't get!

Joe and Bobby were my drivers and they were informative and friendly. Note that the Mount Vernon tour is self-guided, the drivers won't accompany you after you are dropped off. They pick you up in the same spot 3 hours later. To go into the house, your timed ticket does include a guided portion from the venue's staff. Ticket is provided by Loba Tours.
If you don't have a car, this is a cost effective option.

This tour is basically a shuttle service to Mt. Vernon and back. We had two different drivers on the way-up and back, so they were not on the same page when it comes to what was covered by each other. Also, our drivers really didn't offer much insight to Mt. Vernon or Alexandria and it's history. On the way the tour guide didn't even use a microphone, so road noise and people talking made it impossible to clearly hear them talk about the sites. We were told we'd have the opportunity to stop at Christ Church in Alexandria, but that didn't happen. We breezed through Alexandria on the way up and back with no real opportunity to see the sites accept from a moving van as we drove by. On the way back one person got off the van since they wanted to spend more time in Alexandria and they could clearly see this tour wasn't going to offer this. As far as Mt. Vernon, they drop you off and pick you up. You get about 2 hrs to see all of Mt. Vernon which is barely enough time. I would recommend driving yourself and skipping this if possible, but if you just need a ride to Mt. Vernon this is your shuttle service.

Recently did this trip with my 7 yr old daughter.
First: let’s be clear about what this tour is. It is essentially an expensive Uber to and from Mt. Vernon with broken seatbelts and some Washington/DC commentary that was probably only audible for the people in the first row of the van. The tour guide drops you off at Mt. Vernon and leaves. It’s self-guided from there. There is also no real tour of Alexandria, either. It’s just a drive by with some commentary. There is no getting off to walk around there. I may have misunderstood what I was signing up for, but lesson learned.
Second: Perhaps it was just the bumpy road in combination with the bouncy van, but this was a ROUGH ride. I mean, my butt and both feet left the seat and ground on multiple occasions. Our tour guide wasn’t necessarily a bad driver, but he certainly was aggressive and laid on the horn a few times. All of this, in combination with the broken seatbelts, certainly raises some safety concerns.
Lastly (and most importantly): our tour guide commented multiple, separate times on how beautiful my young daughter was. “She’s just gorgeous”, “You’re gonna be in trouble when she turns 16”. At a certain point, my mom alarm started going off. I’m intentionally not sharing the guide’s name as I don’t want to brand him with something that may have been innocent, but the discomfort I felt is worth mentioning.
All in all, I would not do this tour again. I would save $100 and grab an Uber instead.

We messed up with our date booked on trip advisor and they accommodated us easily with two buses , for which we were very grateful . Our driver was a self-admitted history buff that enjoys people so made for a great trip to this beautiful property. Only hard part was waiting in line to go into the main house which is a part of the experience of visiting Mount Vernon on a tour or on our own. The docents on property were all also really kind and knowledgeable. Just enough time for us but would have been nice to learn more on larger part of land.

the week before our trip I had to have emergency surgery for my achilles tendon. Short story- Melbeach Hotel graciously cancelled my reservations Malloca. TAP Airlines graciously gave me a voucher and upon proof of surgery waived all penalties. Since I never left and probably because of surgery Allianz trip insurance refunded my money. I always hear horror stories but this is when everyone was so accommodating. After recovery 6-9 months I'm traveling again. When I am better I will give compliments on Yelp for those 2 businesses that went beyond their policy for me.

Visited a couple weeks ago and I left a little disappointed. Our first visit, so we wanted to do the Mansion tour and the grounds. Once we got to where the house tour begins, we're told they had overbooked, we wound up waiting in line longer than the actual tour was. Once inside it felt extremely rushed, and did not get the experience I was expecting. The house and grounds are beautiful, the people there are very nice and helpful. We will go back but if we do the house tour, might go in the middle of the week, instead of the weekend.

Our driver was very knowledgeable and did a good job. The biggest disappointment for our tour is that our bus was over an hour late picking us up. We were told the bus would be 15 minutes late and it was much later than that, without any updates from our tour operator. Our tour included tickets to Mount Vernon and we arrived at lunch time. The Mount Vernon tickets included access to the house at a specific time so we still had some time to explore the grounds, grab a quick lunch and see the house. We did not have time to explore the visitors center or the historic items at the exit. Our tour was supposed to include some time in Alexandria but we did not have time to stop as we just rode through the town and our driver explained some of the historic building. It was nice to let someone else drive and hear some of the history and as I said, our driver did a nice job. The long wait for the bus to arrive was disheartening and who knows what was sacrificed along our trip to make up for the lost time.

This is an excellent tour. Tim was our tour guide. From the time we left the meeting site, he gave a clear, interesting narrative of the buildings and areas we passed, including Alexandria. When we arrived at Mount Vernon, he took us to a model of the mansion and explained it before the house tour. Next he gave us a tour of the grounds. He texted us highlights to note in the mansion which might not be mentioned on the docent tour. He took a group who desired to go to the Washington tomb. We spent our free time in the education center. Be sure not to miss the displays on the left side as you enter.

Great day out of DC with Joe as our driver. He arrived promptly in the minibus at the pickup stop and gave us some info on the way to Mount Vernon. I liked that the tickets including the Mansion tour were already reserved for us, then we had around 3 hours to explore the estate before getting picked up again at 3pm. Mount Vernon was a must-see and very enjoyable and the onsite canteen was very reasonably priced for lunch. Lots of families and school tours but only to be expected. A very interesting trip which included stopping by a few notable buildings in old Alexandria. And always nice to meet fellow travellers on the bus. A good tour - thank you.
