    Interesting & Enjoyable
Sam did a super job guiding the Embassy Row / Dupont Circle Tour. He covered a wealth of information seamlessly, & answered questions while guiding us through vehicle and pedestrian traffic - and never missed a beat! I found this architectural / cultural / historical tour of the Embassy Row area very interesting and would take a tour with DC Design again in a heartbeat. A nice touch was a text from Sam prior to the tour with his contact info should it be needed.

    Educational and entertaining!
The Dupont Circle & Embassy Row tour was fantastic! Our guide, Sam, was knowledgeable, funny, and entertaining. We didn't just learn about the architecture, but also the colorful characters who lived in the homes. Some wild stories! So much fun. We were a party of two from NYC and one from VA, and we all enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended!

Company overbooks its tours. Terrible experience.
ompany only cares about money; disappointed. My wife and son were on Georgetown tour that was OVERBOOKED with 24 people instead of advertised maximum of 20. The tour guide had no microphone or any equipment; they couldn’t hear half of the commentary. Being such a huge group, the tour moved very slowly. My wife and son were disappointed and left early. Do NOT book with this company as apparently it is a normal practice for them to overbook!

Great way to spend a Sunday morning
Our guide Kim was very enthusiastic and warm. She had great knowledge about the Georgetown area and lots of stories. I would and have recommended this tour to friends.

    America's Main Street 🇺🇲
We did the America's Main Street Tour with Sam and it was great! We really enjoyed the small group size and got to see lots of amazing buildings I don't think we would have taken the time to check out on our own. We learned lots and will definitely check out one of the other DC Designs Tours next time we're in DC. Thanks!!

Rock Creek Park through new eyes -- what a great tour!
Caroline's tours always delight. She shares history, architecture, and stories of the people who lived in and created Washington, DC. I've taken five of her tours, and each was excellent. The most recent was her new tour of Rock Creek Park. I learned about some of the iconic buildings on Connecticut Avenue and a lot about Rock Creek Park's beginnings and evolution. Take Caroline's tours -- you'll see a side of DC you never knew!

Amazing!!! What a knowledgable and terrific guide (Christine!) we learned so much and enjoyed the history and architecture details shared with us from a true professional who understands and is passionate about this! HIGHLY RECOMMEND - but it was a 5 mile trek - so be aware of that.

    Excellent
We had a great time on the Urban Oasis: Rock Creek Park Hike tour. Our guide was Carolyn, who was excellent. She was knowledgeable and friendly, and she had a real knack for conversation and putting people at ease. Her background in design really showed. We learned a lot about buildings, bridges, ruins, and other things. As it happened, the tour was through areas that I've spent a fair amount of time in, having lived in DC for about 2 years now. But I learned a ton of things I didn't know about the area, including places I had walked by dozens of times and hadn't noticed. In short, the experience was great and I can happily recommend it.

Historic Georgetown Tour was GREAT! And so was Kim!
Our tour guide was named Kim. She was fantastic! We chose this tour based on previous reviews and it didn't disappoint. Kim expertly lead us all over town. She took great care to make sure to answer all questions. She was informative, thoughtful and thought provoking in her words about this historic place in the history of our country. We were a mid-sized group of maybe 14 or so, I didn't count. Everyone was able to hear when she spoke. She managed to entertain and educate too! I'd take friends and do it again! I'm not sure why TripAdvisor calls this a Historic Georgetown Architecture Tour because on the DC Design Tour website this is a Historic Georgetown Tour which is more accurate. Sure we looked at architecture but the tour was all about the history of Georgetown.

Great guide, amazing views and an overall excellent experience
CHERRY BLOSSOM AND BASIN TOUR- Sam our tour guide was amazing. His knowledge of the area and the history was impressive. He is well spoke, friendly, focused and professional. He gave great background on the areas and spots we saw along the way. He is clearly excited about the subject matter which adds to his presentation. I went with a friend and she and I both very much enjoyed him and the tour. I would recommend DC Design Tours to all friends and family. Anyone interested in getting a better understanding of the areas they provide tours in should definitely sign up for one of their tours.

    Great Tour!
My family took the Bloom on the Basin: DC Cherry Blossom Tour. Our tour guide Sam was excellent. We did the tour in the downpour rain, but it was so worth it. The tour was so informative and entertaining. I will definitely book another tour with DC Design Tours next time I am in DC!

I would highly recommend this tour, even if you are not interested in design or architecture, you are going to love it! Sam was our guide and he was awesome, he told us about the history of every pllace we went to, he was able to answer every one of our questions, he had fun facts and he even had diagrams, plans, sections of the buildings in his iPad. I will highly encourage you to book this tour (nnot sponsored) or any other of DC Design tours.

Took my parents on this tour and we were very impressed by the guide's deep knowledge and ability to engage our group with fun anecdotes and a sympathetic, well-informed view of the past. It's my second tour with DC Design (I took the first five years ago) and I can't recommend them enough. Plus they were very flexible--when we had to cancel because of Covid, they offered us credit, so we were able to rebook a couple of months later without any problems.

This was a brilliant way to spend a couple of hours in the city. Our guide Sam delivered an interesting but fun tour, starting at Union Station and including the Supreme Court, Library of Congress, and Capitol. Interesting features were pointed out and anecdotes told during a leisurely walk with time to take photos and ask questions. Recommended for everyone interested in finding out more about this beautiful city, how it was built and how it works today.

Terrific tours from our guide Carolyn at DC Design tours - we did a tour of the main monuments and it was so good we booked again and also did a tour of Arlington Cemetery. Carolyn tweaked the tours to suit our interests and stamina, held the kids (and adults) in rapt attention, answered all our questions and shared lots of details and history we would not otherwise have known with a lot of warmth and humour. Strongly recommended.
