- marktW6467JP0 contributionsBest Tour we have ever experiencedDwayne, our tour guide, is a World Class Guide, his knowledge was extensive and thorough with a mindset to sharp details in History that may escape other tour guides. Dwayne was gracious, polite and spoke extremely clearly and had such infectious enthusiasm you could not help feeling the excitement he shared. Even upon completion of the tour my wife and I crossed paths with Dwayne and he was very delighted to run into us again. This tour was a walking tour and there was only 8 of us in the group, which kept all of us close to Dwayne so he did not need to repeat himself as much as he might in a large group. This was the best guided tour my wife and I have been on, ever. Thank you Dwayne And thank you TripadvisorWritten March 12, 2025

- justintD460HD0 contributionsWorst Tour in DC! Do not waist your Money!I am so unsatisfied with the this Tour company (Signature Tours DC). We where on the Tour and during the Capital Building Stop we advised the tour guide that we would be taking pictures across the street. She informed us to be careful with traffic and that it was perfectly fine to go. After 2 min of getting of the bus with the rest of the group, the bus left us stranded at the Capital Building at 10:20PM at night in freezing weather. I am furious and outraged with this tour company. They left me and my pregnant wife stranded in freezing weather. I immediately tried to contact the tour guide several times and have received no reply.Written February 18, 2025
- T529WZannel0 contributionsAmazing! Book now because you want to experience this!Absolutely amazing! The communication and direction prior to the day of the tour were fantastic. We had no trouble finding the start location even with multiple train station and street closures on the day of our tour, inauguration weekend. Our tour guide, Duane, I believe, in his bright orange jacket so we could always find him, was extremely personable, conversing with the tour participants throughout the entire tour. He remembered where people were from and included facts related to the states of the participants. The guide was like a walking encyclopedia! He said he had 20 years experience leading tours and it showed. He pointed out details at every site and shared interesting facts as we drove from one location to the next. And, our driver was an absolute street genius! Roads were randomly closing but he always knew a way to get where we needed to go. He even helped out one of the tour participants by drying her wet socks on the dash of the van. It was quite rainy but that could not put a damper on this phenomenal tour. The cost of the tour was money well spent to have these gentlemen escort us to so many sites! Thank you immensely!Written January 29, 2025

- Jay3140 contributionsFantastic experience, to experience all of the Washington monuments and key sites. Highly recommend the 5hour tour with James anBooked through Get Your Guide, read so much about all the different monuments and what to see and was initially a but overwhelmed, so glad I booked Signature Tours. We booked the 5-hour tour (the 3hr tour is essentially the same but misses out the Pentagon, Airforcr and the Marine Corps monuments which are definately worth a visit and across the highway in Virginia). Our guide, James, was exceptional — his background as a history teacher, working at the Dept of Agriculture and extensive tour experience definately shows as he expertly navigates you through the crowds and gives you insights at each monument. Our driver Chris, was equally impressive, skillfully parking the van at the front of each site and their timing between drop offs and pick ups was perfect . The van we moved around in was fantastic, with large windows offering great views, spacious and clean. The tour stopped at every major monument, and James provided detailed explanations about each one. Overall a well-organised and fantastic tour, as a first-time visitor this tour is a must-do!Written January 3, 2025

- russellh4180 contributionsInformative and Fun TourOur tour guide Dwayne was very informative and friendly. He was easy to understand and provided a wide range of interesting information. There were last minute changes to the schedule caused by early closure of the capital buildings. We were disappointed that we did not get the advertised access to the Library of Congress, but Dwayne adapted to the changes to minimize impact on our tour group. The guide inside the capital building was also quite good and interesting to listen to. I recommend this tour. You will learn a lot that you did not know about our capital buildings.Written December 30, 2024
- gojushiho0 contributionsYou never know what to expect but…You never know what to expect but this did not disappoint. As we all know, it’s the guide and staff that make or break the tour. On our case, we had Miss Sally as our guide and Chris as our driver. It was astounding how much Sally knew and answered all of the groups’s questions. She even made the trip interesting for teenagers…no small task. And Chris was very kind to my FIL who had a bad knee. All in all, they both made a run of the mill trip interesting and enjoyable. What we especially liked is that they did not process us like cattle where the itinerary was a check list for her. Instead, they gave us choices about the itinerary and adjusted on the fly (the weather was bad and many people did not want to trek too far in the freezing rain). I would highly recommend this tour as long as you get these two, if possible.Written December 25, 2024

He had a wealth of information going back to the origins of the land and all the wars that brought these noble people to rest in Arlington. He was very patient, kind and accommodating. The walk was long but he had a very nicely paced tour and we still saw everything we had come for. I would recommend this tour for adults and teens who have a keen interest in the history of this monument!! Thank you for a lovely morning adventure!!Written October 27, 2024

James was our tour guide and Kris was our driver. From the moment we boarded the bus James made us feel welcome, asking us all what state or country we were visiting from.
James’s knowledge of the city is vast and all memorised, never once did I see him referring to notes.
The tour was comprehensive taking in the big ticket places as well as a lot of sites that we as tourists may not be aware of. I visited on a beautiful hot autumn or fall day which really enhanced the experience.
James ensured we were always looked after and explained each of the sites we visited, never in a hurried way but always keeping us to time.
It was on the day of the Marine Corps marathon that I visited so a number of roads were closed. Kris and James displayed their resourcefulness by modifying the tour in a way they that we saw more than a normal day would have allowed. Full marks for that guys!
If you are visiting DC I would highly recommend this trip.

This tour was exactly what we wanted. A large number of landmarks and monuments with excellent photo opportunities during the short 10-20 minute opportunities to explore each monument and photo opportunities (sometimes longer for more immersive locations)
Chris managed the insanity of DC traffic with an uncanny confidence. When certain areas were unexpectedly blocked off or there were minor traffic issues, Chris even went above and beyond by pivoting when necessary to change our pick up points so there would be minimal walking whenever possible.
Be forewarned! A few of the stops have quite a bit of walking, flights of stairs, and other areas that may be challenging if you didn't wear comfortable shoes. Tyrone forewarned us and if a stop seems like too much, you are always given the option to hang out on the air conditioned bus.
Speaking of Tyrone.. in between stories of deep fried sticks of butter, his eventful celebrity encounters, and awkward marriage proposals, Tyrone was engaging, "genius level" knowledgeable of little known DC history facts, and with his subtle references to the Marvel Universe, Forest Gump, Star Wars, Overwatch nnd Minecraft, he kept the attention of the entire tour group from old to young.
The tour was also very reasonable priced. An excellent day for us. Thank you Chris and Tyrone!

While the 10+ stop bus tour itself was enjoyable and our guide, Sally, was fantastic—super friendly and knowledgeable—I was disappointed with the booking process. I purchased the ‘Washington Monument’ package, which was $25 more per person, expecting it to be a highlight of the tour. With 6 tickets, that was $150 additional. However, I wasn’t notified until after the 24-hour cancellation window that the Washington Monument stop would not be included. This lack of communication left me feeling frustrated, as I was unable to cancel or adjust my booking. While the tour was still good, this experience dampened what could have been a much better day.

Enjoyed James the tour guide. It was a very succinct tour saw many things I would not have otherwise. Not sure why I was sold tickets to 2:00 pm African American museum when the tour had me at the Potomac at 2:00pm. Very confusing and kind of cheating really esp since tickets are free to get and should have been obvious to tour group would be unable to be used.

The amount of sights we got to see was pretty great for the price of the tickets. We simply would not have seen as much during our short stay had we not taken the tour. Chris was an excellent driver and did not at any point startle us navigating downtown DC traffic. He even went out of his way to ensure we had an umbrella to borrow since the weather wasn’t great.
Negatives on the experience would include trying to do too much on the time allotted. We were speed walking through some of the attractions which was disappointing, but I also understand traffic in DC is kind of a wildcard. Chris even got us tickets (for the following day) when we couldn’t logistically make our time for entering the Washington Monument. While not ideal he did what he could there. James while an excellent guide overall repeats himself quite a bit. While safety stuff I get (i.e. slippery surfaces at monument, not looking when taking pics etc.) as people are dense and don’t pay attention, we literally had the same story about one of the monuments or something told to us four times. Minor but it was noticeable. I almost wonder if eliminating one of the stops might have made the pacing more reasonable.
Overall we are happy though and enjoyed ourselves and would recommend to others.

Today we went on Signature Tours 6 hour full day tour that began at 10am. Our driver was Kris and James was a master of tour conductors, amazing breadth of knowledge. The tour was fantastic, fully informative and relaxing. James is such a unique individual with a beautiful swagger that is infectious to us from Australia. He was also genuinely interested as to the places that all the visitors were from.
This is the tour that you go on. It was very much a highlight of our time in Washington DC.
ONE HINT.
The pick up is in front of The Archives Building 25 feet from 9th Street and Pennsylvania Ave. Google may show you on the other side of the Road.

The tour was excellent, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and thorough and the driver was also engaging and navigated smoothly and efficiently through DC traffic. The bus was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this tour. I’d worked as a federal employee in DC and Bethesda for 30 years, but I’ve learned more history about this town from the tour.

We had an excellent experience with Sally our tour guide and Kris our driver. Both were very friendly, warm and welcoming. Our driver Kris easily navigated Washington traffic. He welcomed us back at each stop with a comfortable air conditioned bus, free bottled water and a warm smile. Sally's overall knowledge was exceptional. She told detailed fascinating stories of history in an interesting and humorous way. She made personal connections to each of us throughout the tour. We live in a Philadelphia, Pa suburb and she wove our hometown as well as others from around the world into her engaging narratives. She made us laugh throughout the day. As teachers, directors and performers, we observed her and she checked all of the boxes. Tip: wear comfortable shoes

I have an elderly parent. IS the bus airconditioned and are there specific restroom stops?
Written July 18, 2022
Yes, I believe there was air conditioning as much as there is on a shuttle bus. Restroom stop at WW II Memorial and at lunch stop, if you are doing the full day trip. But most stops are 10-15 minutes tops and some are walk intensive.
That being said there were a couple of older ladies on our tour that stayed on the bus at each stop, for the most part.

What time does that starts and when it ends? Does it worth taking this in the evening (5pm) to stay up until the night?

Written December 9, 2019
Sorry I'm just now responding, Sharon. Yes, you pass by the Capitol Building, Blair House, Lincoln Memorial, MLK Memorial, WWII Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Iwo Jima Memorial, Air Force Memorial, the FBI Building near the crash site and the Jefferson memorial (but it was under construction/repair). The guide was fantastic and gave us time to get out and take pictures. We were not "dumped off" anywhere!

I booked this a while ago and booked it for hotel pickup...what time will they pickup? Do we need to wait outside? I see no further info about this includes with the confirmation, other than the hotel name and address I provided.
Written October 25, 2019
You need to have them tell you what time they’re picking you up. Also, recommend you do the all day tour because the 1/2 day one is bad.
Written October 26, 2019
What sites are visited in the afternoon on the 6 hour tour (that aren't done in the 3 hour)?
Thanks
Written August 19, 2019
If you read the description of the 3 hour and 6 hour tours you will note that you will stop by more sites on the 6 hour tour than the 3 hour tour. You do not stop at Arlington. I suggest you book Arlington on it's own.
I highly recommend the 6 hour tour.
