#1 of 9 Boat Tours & Water Sports in Waiheke Island
- 247kellil00Beautiful IslandWas expecting to be part of a group tour and was surprised to be on my own. Justine was a lovely guide and had a clear understanding of the history of Waiheke and the Māori culture. The island is beautiful, the walk was very tranquil and the wine tasting was delicious. The restaurant chosen for lunch was lovely. Thanks Justine for a great day.
- Excursion6722846209300UnforgettableThe views were amazing. We were myself (dad), my son and his pal. Justine adjusted our private tour effortlessly as these 16 year old adventure seekers wanted more of the danger, less vineyard beauty. Notwithstanding, she was able to connect with them as well as “adult” me and we were able to do both. I have never had such a wonderful guide and ill never forget it.
- 358traceyt00Great Waiheke tourDell was amazing. Turn and pivot to make our tour amazing. Great sites. Great walk. Great education. Great wine! Thank you Dell for a great tour of Waiheke island!
- 414erint00Amazing!Gabrielle was the best - from touching base ahead of time to make sure we were good to go with the muddier than normal conditions and forecasted winds. She personalized our tour to what my three teenage boys were interested in. She provided a lot of history and additional details about the island as we explored the island. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip!
- kristinl74200Wonderful day on Waiheke Island - well worth doing when in AucklandGabrielle was a wonderful guide - knowledgeable and passionate about the island she lives on and loves - It was a beautiful day with a great mix of walking, sightseeing, dining, and an enjoyable ferry ride to and from Auckland. Perfect way to learn about the Maori people and their beautiful culture - anyone visiting New Zealand needs to take the time to learn (and pay respect) to the indigenous people of New Zealand.
- Relax6148450222900The best tour I have ever been on!This tour was more than I could imagine. Gabrielle was so knowledgeable about the island and is a legendary local. She showed us a phenomenal time and made us feel like locals too. I highly recommend Gabrielle, you can't get better than her!
- docchavez00Great one!Gabrielle was a great guide; she made the best in spite of rainy day. She is very knowledgeable about the culture and enjoyed sharing this with us. Our tour included some wine tasting that was awesome. Lunch was delicious. Great spot. Also plenty of photo opportunities.
- bballer00us00Nightmare ExperienceBooked the excursion only to find out an hour later they weren't able to put it on. They asked if I wanted to join another excursion. In the end, it wasn't what I wanted to do. Communication with them up until that point went just fine VIA the email/Trip Adviser booking. However, as soon as I responded that I'd like to cancel, I started getting return to sender emails. The first email happened well after I sent it. So, I thought they received my message and had canceled the booking which is why I no longer could email them. Boy was I wrong. They charged me and won't refund me the money. I wouldn't recommend doing business with them. They don't do the right thing for the customer. They just want to make a quick buck.
- 824sandeeps00Private Tour of Waiheke IslandHad a great time with Justine. She was very knowledgeable about the island and its history. She picked a wonderful winery for lunch. Got to understand what the word "Batch" meant. It is a vacation home.
- Connector1126456281200Definitely worth doingOur guide Justine was excellent. There were only the 3 of us (with my husband Neil) and by the end it felt like we were looking around with a friend. I can highly recommend this company-everything (including the restaurant chosen for lunch) was ideal.
- Culverman00Beautiful island, friendly guideWe were expecting a small group tour, but it turned out to be just the 2 of us. Dell was our guide & was very easy- going & willing to share her knowledge of the island. It felt like spending the day with a friend. It was our last planned activity of a 2 week trip. Couldn't have asked for a more relaxing day in a beautiful setting!
- Roving4465566153500Perfect way to spend the day in WaihekeIt was just a beautifully planned out adventure. A little hiking and a like wine makes for the perfect day. Our guide was so informative and kind. Can’t recommend this enough :)
- Trail6090934628600Two happy customers but a commentNidia (sp?) was a wonderful host to us. We learned a lot about Waiheke, enjoyed our walk and admired Nidia’s skill at shaping the visit to manage both our wishes and the vagaries of the weather. But the one hitch was meeting up in the first place. Clearer guidance on where to stand would help but overall if the various tour guide companies could pay for a host stationed at the ferry terminal that would make most sense
- EmmiTYR00Great way to see the islandReally knowledgable local guide and beautiful walk. Local history, geography, flora, fauna and current regeneration projects. Well worth it.
- Curious27165300Great time. The hiking tour we took of Waiheke Island was one of our highlights to the Auckland NZ area. Tyler, our guide was knowledgeable, energetic and FUN! I highly recommend using Terra and Tide and ask for Tyler.

We enjoyed the Art Walk with Michael, who is a wonderful host. He introduced us to the artists, who were very happy to chat about their work and creative process. It was a very stimulating day. Lunch at Gabriella's was delicious and wonderfully scenic. We are good walkers so we didn't struggle with the walk, but participants should be ready to walk around 13,000 steps, including some uphills (although the inclines were gentle, not strenuous). The views were magnificent and we would highly recommend this unique experience.

Most enjoyable day on Waiheke Island! We wanted to see the island from the perspective of the creative artists that live there and who's work is inspired by its natural beauty. Walking by Nature and especially our young local guide, Louie, delivered. We loved the mix of public and private art, sculpture, craft, and jewelry. The host artists were most gracious in showing us their studio space and work. It was a hot day and two of the artists even offered to drive us to the next stop. Although we purchsed a few items, we didn't feel pressured to buy anywhere and photography was allowed (we asked at each studio). The time just flew by and finished up with a lovely coastal/bush walk back to our starting point at the public gallery. We definitely saw more, than we might have on our own. We were expected at each studio and Louie gave a great explanation of the other areas we visited. It was an easy 35 minute ferry ride from Auckland to join the tour. We recommend this tour to anyone looking for something other than the typical winery/tasting tour of Waiheke.

Our guide Tracey was fabulous! Not only did she take us to see some amazing artists and their work, but she added in an extra Artist as we'd expressed an interest in their work.

Thank you it was "magique" !
Our party of four enjoyed immensely our time out over the far end of the island.
Michael was a great help in anticipating or answering questions as we went along with him at the wheel. It made for a very professional yet friendly experience.
Michael's love of the Island created a shared experience that went way beyond the call of duty. Would have enjoyed another couple of hours...Next time maybe !

Highly recommend this tour. Louis our guide was very knowledgeable about the island and the artists residing there. We were made very welcome at the artists homes and studios. Louis extended the tour a little to cover the nature aspect of the island. Take good walking shoes as the island is very hilly but the views are outstanding.

Waiheke Island Art Walking Tour was a great, enjoyable and unexpected beautiful experience. Gabrielle was very kind teaching us how to see the island from the perspective of a group of creative artists she introduced us and particular natural points as Mackenzie Reserve as well. We highly recommend this tour. Chris & Mario, Argentina
