Amazing walking tour with wine tasting
We had an amazing Bush Walk and couple of wine tasting visits with Cindy on a sunny Waiheke island in May. Cindy was a brilliant tour guide with a lot of knowledge on local nature and history. We had fantastic conversation all the way while walking and looking at splendid sceneries, eating tasty packed lunch and visiting the vineyards. Thank you Cindy, Waiheke island is definitely a place I would love to visit again.

      A great experice !
I have done two tours with Gabrielle. She is fantastic and passionate about her job and the Waiheke community. I did the art tour and a bush walk, and it was so gratifying to speak with the artist and hear the bird of Waiheke on the bush walk.

      An excellent art tour.
My wife and I had an excellent art tour with Dale of Terra & Tide. Picked up at the ferry , we visited a variety of galleries, and an art garden, as well as seeing some of the island's natural beauty. We ended up purchasing two small pieces during the visits and are quite happy with them now we are back in Boulder, CO.

Incredible day on the catamaran with Bruce
My wife and I had the BEST day out on the water with Bruce this February. We booked rather last minute, but Bruce and Gabrielle were incredibly accommodating and provided the absolute best experience. The boat is beautiful and very comfortable, Bruce was a great guide not only as boat captain of the catamaran, but also of the dinghy – make sure to ask him to take you into the cave at Otata Island (I think that was the one). The prepared lunch was also delicious and fresh, we were really impressed. All around 10/10, beyond worth it – it was our honeymoon and filled with great days, but this was and remains our favorite day of the trip!

Optimal tour for a meaningful overview of Waiheke Island and NZ in general
The Waiheke Island History and Heritage Tour was a fabulous way to start our vacation. Gabrielle and team are extremely knowledgable about all aspects of NZ and Waiheke Island in particular. We learned a ton about the history, people and culture. And in particular, I found the information on the environmental conservation aspects fascinating. It was such a pleasure to have a guide that was both knowledgeable and passionate. I highly recommend a visit to Waiheke Island and a tour with Gabrielle and Terra & Tide!

      Perfect boat trip
We had the best tour. We started sailing and went to a beautiful island and hiked around and then had lunch and sailed back. It was just wonderful and we loved it

      An Absolute Must
Our time on Waiheke Island was amazing. Nicky, our tour guide, took us around the galleries on the main road of the island and if felt like walking through a large, live outdoor art museum. We also visited a sanctuary garden and looked over scenic country and beach views of Waiheke. We learned so much about its rich history, as well as the current lifestyle of the locals. By far, this was the best part of our Australia/New Zealand trip.

Fantastic day out on a catamaran
We took a catamaran out with Bruce to Tiritiri Matangi Island. Not only was the island itself an incredible experience but Bruce was an outstanding and informative host. He let us try our hand at sailing, provided excellent food, and was a fantastic companion overall. Had a great time and couldn't recommend this enough!

      Amazing, informative, and breathtaking!
This was our first stop on our honeymoon in New Zealand and our guide was Maria. I had done a lot of research on New Zealand and was really wanting to know more about the island of Waiheke. Maria was incredibly knowledgeable about all the animal and plant life and the conservation efforts for the island. This tour was a true highlight and she truly made this a magical experience as our introduction for New Zealand and it's ecology. It was truly unforgettable!

Great day on Waiheke Island with Lucie
had an excellent day hiking around the headlands with Lucie!!!! Had a nice orientation before we headed out and spent the morning hiking around the beautiful headlands of the Island. Then we had a great lunch on the beach followed by some time in town to have coffee and peruse the shops (your choice) before heading back on a hike to the ferry. Saw beautiful sights, birds, plants, and learned a lot about New Zealand!! Would definitely recommend.

      Beautiful Day on Waiheke
I had the best day touring Waiheke Island with Maria of Terra & Tide. We discussed my interests when we met and she tailored the day to fit my interests. We visited wineries, an art gallery (and i bought a piece of art), a couple of beaches (I am a beach person) and did an olive oil tasting when i noticed and mentioned all of the olive trees on the island. Things I liked best about Maria include: she grew up and has lived and worked on the island, has a deep knowledge of the island and its history and can provide great stories of the island as you tour around the island from place to place; she often offered to take my photo when i was taking pictures and since i was traveling solo i truly appreciated that as most guides do not offer and you need to ask. I ended up loving Waiheke and thought i could easily live there and i think that's due, in part anyway as i was able to view the island through Maria's eyes.

      Nature and wine
We, a couple, had a nice walk with Cindy. She explained a lot of interesting facts about the plants, birds and the Māori culture. After the walk we got a very tasty lunch sandwich and tasted different wines at 2 wineries. We had a nice group and a good laugh.

The organization was very random. We ended having to pay a wine tasting and spending time in a art gallery, which was not previewed in the activity description (Waiheke Island Bush & Beach Walk)
The walking was quite comon, lasted only 2 hours with few information about birds.
Lunch was ok but nothing special.
The gide was nice but we feel it did not worth the price at all and most of all, it did not correpond to the description at all.

Booked the excursion only to find out an hour later they weren't able to put it on. They asked if I wanted to join another excursion. In the end, it wasn't what I wanted to do. Communication with them up until that point went just fine VIA the email/Trip Adviser booking. However, as soon as I responded that I'd like to cancel, I started getting return to sender emails. The first email happened well after I sent it. So, I thought they received my message and had canceled the booking which is why I no longer could email them. Boy was I wrong. They charged me and won't refund me the money. I wouldn't recommend doing business with them. They don't do the right thing for the customer. They just want to make a quick buck.

This review is not accurate and honest and does not reflect the facts which are as follows: 1. This person booked a walking tour with us - we contacted them and advised them we would join them with another walk that would include visiting vineyards which they wanted to do and it would go in the same area as the walk they had booked so we could deliver what they wanted. They confirmed it sounded nice and checked timing and we confirmed it was the same and they would be returned to the 3pm ferry. 2. Though this person had the option to cancel on Viator till the evening before - they did not. 3. We waited for them on the day (our guide did) and we called the US number provided when my guide said she did not show. We did not hear from this person fo rthe rest of the day. 4. There is no such thing as "return to sender" messages on Viator which is the platform that this person was using to communicate with us. This has been confirmed by Viator when we reported this issue. 4. A day later, we began to receive abusive messages from this person on our messenger account demanding their money back and accusing us of doing this deliberately which is simply false. Viator has ability to cancel a booking for any customers until the night before - you simply use the cancel button. If you don't cancel, you are a no show and it is common practice in the industry to have a policy that you are charged unless you show up as costs have been incurred including guides, lunch box orders etc. It is disappointing to be on the end of this behaviour and misuse of the Viator platform as we are a professional long standing operator with a good reputation as evidenced by the large number of 5 star reviews on this platform and others and we always seek to accommodate people where we can.

Gabrielle"s wealth of knowledge of the flora and fauna of the island was amazing. Even though the weather meant plans had to change it was a most enjoyable day hiking on Waiheke Island. I got to test my wet weather gear! The day was relaxed and informative.

What an amazing experience exploring the beautiful Waiheke Island with Gabrielle, a passionate nature lover with in depth knowledge of the flora and fauna of the island. Gabrielle also had extensive knowledge of the Māori history of the island which was great. The tour took us through different forrest and seaside environments, including a delicious lunch and swim at a secluded beach. The walk itself was easy to moderate with some panoramic vistas. I’d highly recommend this tour to the nature lover!
