Well organised trip in a stunning part of the world
We did the five day Freedom walk in the Queen Charlotte Sound, which we enjoyed a lot. The views are amazing! The trip was well organised with great accomodation and lunches provided in each location and the bag collection and drop off each day worked well. I would definitely use Marlborough Sounds Adventure Company again.

      Excellent and enjoying.
Booking the trip was efficient and seamless. Finding the location when we arrived in Piction was easy. Our tour guides Caleb and Tom were fantastic. We had Caleb who took us through the safety and kayak set up process, very clear directions and his communication skills were first class. The trip was 10km and we cruised at a good pace with excellent knowledge from both Caleb and Tom of our surroundings. Would highly recommend the trip.

Excellent company to deal with. Walk was amazing.
We did the 4 day Freedom Walk with this company. They were excellent from the day we first contacted them to our arrival back in Picton after the walk. Accommodation was good. Walk itself was great if not a little more challenging at times than we had thought it would be. Excellent views of the Sounds at many points along the QCT. Walk had loads of tree canopy for when the weather was hot. We had to buy food (breakfast and dinner) at each lodge which was a little on the expensive side. Lunch was included as part of Walk.

Charlotte track adventure so well organised
Went on the 4 day Charlotte Track freedom adventure. So well organised with great accommodation, bags moved everyday, packed lunches and boat transfer for start and end of the walk.

      Knowledable breath taking and peaceful
Outstanding service accompanied by a truly exceptional team, who adeptly accommodated our last-minute booking at an incredibly reasonable price. While I was on a cruise ship, I found that the tours offered there were significantly more expensive, yet provided less time on the water, making this experience not only more cost-effective but also more enjoyable. Our guide was supportive and very knowledgeable about the area and made the journey so much fun and relaxing

Great experience on the Queen Charlotte Track
We really enjoyed our 4 days on the Queen Charlotte track. Transport and accommodation were great, and the route was very easy to follow. The weather in early December could have been better, but we only had one day of rain (on day 2). This made the track a bit slippery in places on the last 2 days, but we still managed to finish each day well within the guide times in the handbook.

Queen Charlotte Track - an adventure for three generations...
What an amazing experience we had. We have just finished the Queen Charlotte track organised by Marlborough Sounds Adventure Company. It was exceptional. Thank you. We had three generations hiking together and it was awesome for all of us. Admittedly grandpa was particularly fit and awesome himself.

      Fantastic
My fiancé and I had a brilliant half day guided kayaking tour with these guys, seeing the beautiful sounds from the water and spotting fish, stingrays, and 'banana pomegranate' fruits (really tasty). Our guide was brilliant, and the water quality is incredible. Even in the pouring rain I would 100% recommend.

A very enjoyable supported multi-day walk
I had a fabulous experience on the Queen Charlotte Sound Freedom Walk. The scenery was spectacular and the tracks well signposted and reasonable under foot. With long distances and some steep sections, I was glad to be carrying only a day pack. I enjoyed the cool temperatures of Spring and a more relaxed pace from spreading it over 6 days. Water taxi services were seamless and triple-share accommodation was very comfortable. Purchased meals and provided lunches were fresh and delicious.

      Coastal kayak tour
We booked kayak tour which turned out to be just my wife and me and the guide. We both kayak regularly. They took us across the harbor and up the coast 5-6 miles where we met the van and kayak trailer to take us back to town. We saw several fur seals both in the water and on shore. There was some interesting geology along the shoreline. We stopped for a short snack and tea half way. It rained a little on us, but the kayak jacket and spray skirt kept us comfortable. Our only complaint is that they gave us a double kayak, whereas we would have preferred 2 single kayaks. I think they adapt the trips based upon experience, and suspect we did a slightly more ambitious trip than usual because of our experience level. Recommended!

4 day Freedom Walk of Queen Charlotte Track
I highly recommend using this company to hike the Queen Charlotte Track. They arranged everything from a boat from Picton to Ship Cove, hotels along the way (all very nice) and baggage transfers. They even supplied us all with trampers wool which really saved the day on the hike.

Do it all - kayak and hike
Fabulous trip for our group of 8. We had a custom made week of adventure with 3 nights kayaking and camping in the outer sounds then 3 nights freedom hiking on the Queen Charlotte. Would highly recommend this combination. Great guide and equipment and wonderful flexibility with last minute changes to make the most of weather windows. Spectacular part of the world.

      Fabulous half day kayak trip
Awesome half day out with experienced guide. With the crystal clear water we were able to see two different types of star fish and a seal sunning himself. Lots of beautiful bays to see and picture postcard views of the sounds. Highly recommend. Don’t need shoes bare feet was fine.

Five day freedom walk- fantastic experience
Three of us did the freedom walk over five days and it was terrific. The scenery is just stunning, really quite extraordinary. The organisation was seamless, with ferries, bags, and accommodation all neatly orchestrated, so our bags were at our accom waiting for us. Most people take this approach, walking with just a day pack, but there were a few people with large rucksacks (I would have struggled). Furneaux Lodge is beautifully situated with good food. Endeavour Hills Homestay was also excellent- Dave and Neroli were great hosts and made us a pizza dinner which was very welcome after the longest walking day. Again, a beautiful outlook and very comfortable. The info we received before the walk was thorough and clear, and dealings with the office were easy. The company has a relaxed but professional approach, and were across all the relevant details. One tip- in summer if your last day to Anakiwa is warm, put your swimmers and a pair of sandals in your day pack. It's a fair walk and a beautiful bay- a dip at the end would be nice. And another tip- having a rest day part way through the walk (after the longest day) was well worthwhile.

I did the full day kayak trip and it was a wonderful day. There were just 3 tourists and Ruby, our excellent guide. The routes and distances taken on this trip vary depending on wind and tide conditions on the day and the level of confidence of the paddlers. We also discussed among ourselves choices such as whether we should break now or in half an hour. You don't feel herded -- you feel part of a team.

We and our kayaks were taken in a minibus to Ngakuta Bay -- a pretty drive. Then we paddled around the Grove Arm, stopping at various beautiful little beaches for morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. There were two kinds of cake, cheese sandwiches, and apples. And, amazingly, filter coffee. The wind did not quite do what it was supposed to do that day, and was a head wind quite a lot of the time. The sea was choppy, which we all enjoyed a lot. We did get a bit of a workout at this point (and a lot of seawater in our eyes). Then we paddled back to Picton, finally with the wind behind us at the very last stage.

Ruby was great. I especially liked the way she assessed us and decided what we were capable of, without any prejudice. She treated me (65 year old woman) no differently from the way she treated the young couple in the other kayak. A very intelligent young woman, with exceptional people skills. You also get the sense the company are serious about safety. They supply spray decks, lifejackets, and good shoes.

Just before christmas last year, I went with my three friends, all 40 plus, to the Marlborought sound to "do" the Charlotte track, with the guidence of the the Marlbourough Sounds Adventure Co. We spent nine days in NZ altogether, but this part of the trip was by far the best. We did a 3 day package of walking, paddling and mountain biking.
The 3 day ultimate adventure.! and it was, it was perfect, the exquisite breathtaking scenery, the tranquility....this is such a beautiful part of the world. Unspoilt.
Our guideHarry, made the trip so interesting, his knowledge of the flora and wildlife, and his stories kept us entertained.
Each day we were provided with a lunch pack, nutritionally sound stuff and lots of it, but the best part was boiling the billy to have tea from a tin mug..so nice, and the freshly baked slices...yummmmy!. We were later given the receipes from one of the company owners. Many thanks.
Our guide, had our safety and enjoyment as a primary focus.
Walking at the back of the group, with the slowest which was usually me!
I cant wait to do this again sometime !
Great company to holiday with. Not to mention the best coffee and our surprise treat on return to Picton. ! Thank you.

The guided day trip was well run with good food and good quality equipment. We then rented a kayak for two days. The safety briefing was good and we were really well looked after with a hot shower and coffee when we returned cold and wet. Highly recommended!

We went for a full day guided kayak trip with George as our guide. From the moment we arrived to the drop off back in Picton this was a great day. George was knowledgeable about the area and we had some interesting chats as we paddled. We covered a reasonable distance but at our own pace and there was plently of time to enjoy the beauty and to take pictures. Kayaks and equipment were in excellent condition and we felt safe throughout even as Inexperienced kayakers. The lunch provided was great.

Never having kayaked before and the prospect of a half day outing before us, well I wondered if I'd be bailing out at the first bay ... But, our guide was very confident (Ralph) and the magic of the Sounds was all that was needed to make this a fantastic day. Half way we stopped for a swim and cup of tea/coffee with the ultimate apricot/sultana slice. Recommend this for all age groups. Perfection.

These guys really looked after us. Safety was paramount. We rented the kayaks for half a day and when we arrived the weather was looking a little shaky so they sent us to a secluded bay where we were completely sheltered then picked us up after. The kayaks were perfect, good weight, steady and well looked after. They maps and guidance was excellent. We had to cross Picton Harbour after 2 Inter-Islander ferries had passed and the waves were easily handled and boy was it fun! Big shout out to this team!

We started with a guided kayak across the sound to Lochmara Lodge. Even though it was a bit of a rainy day, it was very enjoyable. The stay at Lochmara was great -- best dinner of our 3-week stay in NZ. And the tubs were very welcome after a full day of paddling. Hiked out the next day on the Queen Charlotte track. The staff at Marlborough Sound Adventure Company was very helpful and professional.

My husband (65) and I (59) greatly enjoyed our guided walk on the QC track. Marlborough Sounds Adventure Company took care of everything. The accommodations along the way (Furneaux, Ponga, and Portage Bay) were superb. Our luggage was transported daily, so we just carried daypacks with our lunch and water and extra layers. We hiked in early March and the weather was good. The trail was excellent and the views superb. We spent the 4th day sea-kayaking at Portage Bay.

Can't say enough good things about our guide, Harry. He was a mine of information about the flora and fauna, a lovely, gentle spirit, and an excellent outdoorsman. He was really helpful to one member of our group who struggled a bit with the climbs. And, we all enjoyed him boiling the billy, for a cup of tea/coffee when we had a break from hiking.

The company handled all the details, including picking us up and dropping us off at our motel in Picton at the start and end of the trip. Usually we don't eat so well when hiking, but the food at the resorts was excellent. We actually found it a bit too much after a long day of hiking. Belatedly, we realized that you could ask for lighter fare at the resort restaurants and that would gave been a good idea.

Our group was small - just 5 people, with the guide making 6. We enjoyed meeting the others and learning about the natural environment from Harry's wealth of information and the opportunity to get some sea kayaking instruction. Our dinners together were friendly and lively.

Had a wonderful time kayaking in Queen Charlotte Sound. The guides pointed out a variety of plants and birds. Even dive bombed by an angry sea gull. A mid-kayak stop for refreshments hit the spot. Not too hard and thoroughly enjoyable.
