Our guide, Joel, was knowledgeable and interesting. He gave us the history of tavira, and what drew people to the town over the years. The chocolatier gave each of us two chocolates to sample and of course we purchased several boxes and slabs of her delicious chocolate. Great! It was a fantastic experience. I took two children aged 9 and 10 who were enchanted! Mr. Joao is an excellent communicator and has a good knowledge of the history of Tavira, its monuments and sights. It was a very detailed visit, stopped whenever we wanted to see something longer and explained everything very clearly. I strongly advise! Expectations vastly exceeded taking into account the amount paid. Thank you Mr. João!

Excellent tour. We were a party of two with limited mobility issues so this was a brilliant option to still get to see some lovely details of Tavira without needing to walk much. Our guide was very well informed and passionate about Tavira now and its history which was clearly apparent. The salt pans and fishing museum were really interesting to us as well as the architecture of the town and the influences from the Moors and others. Highly recommend.

Tuk tuk is the best way to experience the sights sounds of Tavira. Our guide was knowledgeable about local issues, weather, tourism, food and family. We learned a lot and felt comfortable with him. We even stopped for a beer with him for some great conversation at a tiny local cafe.

We were collected on time from our hotel by Joao having booked after reading the many positive reviews . Joao spoke in a strong clear voice in excellent English throughout the trip . He clearly has a passion for the area and explained the features of the many area’s visited in great detail.
We felt our private Tuktuk tour was excellent value for money and were delighted by the whole experience , my only regret is that the box only allows a 5 star rating as I rate it a 6 star plus

João was a super friendly, knowledgeable and flexible guide. He picked us up from our front door, took us all around, stopped for a beer at our request, and dropped us at a different location. We learned so much. It was a fantastic way to explore Tavira, especially for my wife who has mobility issues. Highly recommended.

John was an excellent guide and a lovely guy who gave us a brilliant and informative tour of the beautiful city of Tavira. He was funny and a great guide, making plenty of stops along the way and explaining about the history & architecture of the town, salt pans and tuna fishing history. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and would 100% recommend Maria’s Tuk Tuk tours. Tuk Tuk!!

We were extremely pleased with Maria's tuk tuk tour. His historical stories were captivating not just with the factual history of this charming town but with interesting out of the ordinary facts. He gave us great advice on future tours and activities and even helped us gain tickets to a closed event! We highly recommend this wonderful tour.

Took this tour on our second day in Tavira. Collected from hotel in clean electric tuk with seat belts just perfect. Joao was really knowledgable and friendly. He provided a good explanation of everything we saw and we learnt lots that we would have missed without the tour.
Provided us with a copy of the historical guide to Tavira and a personalised souvenir at the end of the tour which was a unexpected and appreciated.

We (3 adults) toured Tavira with Joao. Loved the city and loved learning all about it from him. He is very knowledgeable and his love for this place is inspiring. He shared many interesting stories about Tavira's past and present and took us to great spots for amazing discoveries, views and pictures that we never would have known to go to otherwise. A great mix of city and outskirts, history and nature. A couple of historic places, and the Tuna Museum were closed for winter/maintenance but we loved seeing them from outside and learning about them. No salt in the salt flats this time of year but fascinating nonetheless. And we got to add a stop at the chocolatier instead! Thank you, Joao, for a wonderful tour and your dedication to client satisfaction.

We did Maria’s tuk tuk tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guide was excellent, pointing out places of interest and she also recommended restaurants to eat in.
The salt pans and the Tuna Museum were particularly interesting and our guide was very knowledgeable. A unique experience I would highly recommend.
