About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- kimjG9549FP0 contributionsInteresting and educationalOur guide Edvards showed us around the old town. We learned the history of all the buildings and their background. We also learned about the history of Latvia and Riga. Edvards was incredibly well-read and was also able to answer all the questions we asked. If you visit Riga, this tour is a must, as it will give you a more general education.Written March 24, 2025
- Glenn W0 contributionsExcellent and personable overview of RigaEdvard was exceptionally personable, highly knowledgeable about history, geography, cultural, and current affairs. Our time with Edvard flew by as we walked Riga. He provided suggestions for meals, local food dishes, and offered a wonderful overview of the country and city.Written February 27, 2025
- Karan50 contributionsVery knowledgeable tour guideWe had a great tour with Edvards who was very friendly and full of information. We did this in February and Riga was snowy however this didn’t deter us and Edvards took us nice and slow through Riga old town. He gave us a lot of information and made it fun by asking us many questions to guess their answers in a quiz format which we loved (we got them all wrong but he was very nice about it!). Would definitely recommend this as it gives you great insights into not only Latvia’s history but also that of the whole Baltics region.Written February 16, 2025
- jgled660 contributionsExcellent Detailed History of Riga and LatviaWe had an excellent tour. We had many questions about Latvia's history, culture, economy, and artistic features. Our guide gave us detailed explanations and informed opinions as well as pointing out the major sites of the old city. We would highly recommend this tour.Written January 7, 2025
- bfroese0 contributionsWalking history lessonEmil was great. His English was great and he was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of historical background on Latvia. Everything was on our pace and allowed us to ask as many questions as we liked. The only suggestion we have is that since the tour was private, it would have been better if our guide had met us at our cruise ship rather than us trying to find him in an unfamiliar cityWritten September 25, 2024
- R9256BRthomass0 contributionsVery informative tour!Edvards was extremely knowledgeable and patient with questions. This was one of the most informative guided tours I have ever been on.Written April 6, 2024
- MAP12160 contributionsOutstanding! This was an excellent way to begin our visit to Riga! Edvards provided historical, economical, religious and cultural information about both Riga and Latvia. Because the tour is private, we were free to ask questions about what interested us, which curated the tour to our small group. Edvards is knowledgeable, personable and interesting. A perfect tour guide. We would highly recommend this tour to any visitors to Riga.Written April 5, 2024
- ShepMcCrum0 contributionsRiga old town tourEdvards was brilliant! He was entertaining and very knowledgeable. He kept the whole family engaged with his stories and his humour. We loved the tour, despite it being cold.Written December 21, 2023
- L6487XVsallys0 contributionsExcellent, highly informative tour.Excellent tour with Edvards (apologies for any misspelling!), who was an extremely articulate and professional guide. Edvards had an impressive hinterland of knowledge on any issue where we had further questions. He was also entertaining, making the two hours of the tour feel very short. I strongly recommend this tour.Written October 2, 2023

- virgisb50 contributionsEntertaining introduction to RigaWe enjoyed the tour very much. Edvards was telling stories in an entertaining way, and he engaged our group as a true professional. Also, it was freezing outside, so after an hour of walking, the guide offered us a short break in a warm cafeteria.Written December 28, 2022

We had a very pleasant walking tour with Santa through the Art Nouveau district. She did a good job of categorizing and describing what we were seeing and helped to put it in historical perspective. She did such a good job that the rest of our stay in Riga we were looking for more A.N. and recognizing the different categories she discussed. Excellent tour. On time. Highly recommended.

Everything was awesome, well organized and on-time. I asked for the guide to meet us at the hotel (we were in the center) and she did, with no problem, then took us on a brisk walk up to the Art Nouveau district and told us the history of every relevant building present there (let me put it this way, every building you see in the postcards). Then took us into the Art Nouveau apartment (that cost a little bit extra) and went through the apartment, telling us the history of the place. Everything was awesome, as I have already said. Well organized, well planned and well executed.
One funny aside, our tour was just me, my tour guide and my pal. Through out the tour, we kept getting funny glances at much larger groups doing the same tour of Italians, Germans and Argentinians, who were in groups of twenty, twelve and thirty respectively. They were confused as to how I managed such a private tour.
