Our guide Edvards showed us around the old town. We learned the history of all the buildings and their background. We also learned about the history of Latvia and Riga. Edvards was incredibly well-read and was also able to answer all the questions we asked. If you visit Riga, this tour is a must, as it will give you a more general education.

Edvard was exceptionally personable, highly knowledgeable about history, geography, cultural, and current affairs. Our time with Edvard flew by as we walked Riga. He provided suggestions for meals, local food dishes, and offered a wonderful overview of the country and city.

We had a great tour with Edvards who was very friendly and full of information. We did this in February and Riga was snowy however this didn’t deter us and Edvards took us nice and slow through Riga old town. He gave us a lot of information and made it fun by asking us many questions to guess their answers in a quiz format which we loved (we got them all wrong but he was very nice about it!). Would definitely recommend this as it gives you great insights into not only Latvia’s history but also that of the whole Baltics region.

We had an excellent tour. We had many questions about Latvia's history, culture, economy, and artistic features. Our guide gave us detailed explanations and informed opinions as well as pointing out the major sites of the old city. We would highly recommend this tour.

Emil was great. His English was great and he was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of historical background on Latvia. Everything was on our pace and allowed us to ask as many questions as we liked. The only suggestion we have is that since the tour was private, it would have been better if our guide had met us at our cruise ship rather than us trying to find him in an unfamiliar city

We were a group of eight people. Edvards Rutkis was our guide and all of us found him an excellent guide with interesting information on the history of Riga and Latvia as well.

We enjoyed the tour very much. Edvards was telling stories in an entertaining way, and he engaged our group as a true professional. Also, it was freezing outside, so after an hour of walking, the guide offered us a short break in a warm cafeteria.
