About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- jfaijaz0 contributionsNice placeMust visit area - especially the churches, shops and the bars. Nice place to be when the weather is nice. The streets give you nostalgic feelings. It is a little expensive though so try not to buy anything from there.Written March 27, 2019
- krestineoldager0 contributionsA lot of Art NuveauWe enjoyed the walking tour in the old city together with our very kind guide. There is a lot of great old buildings and the guide spoke a lot about them and we’ll be able to recognize art nouveau for ever, but we would have liked a little more history and a few anecdotes about recent time too.Written March 10, 2019

- AFCWNick0 contributionsExcellent tourThis tour seems to have some mixed reviews - mainly based on trouble meeting up - but we have nothing but good to say about it. We met the guide (Maria - if my memory serves me) as planned at the Latvian Riflemen monument and found that my wife and i were the only people on the tour. Despite that, we got a very very full tour and it was absolutely a highlight of our trip to Riga. We had a very thorough walk around both the old town and the Art Nouveau district. Maria was very knowledgeable and pointed out a lot of details of the places that we passed which we would absolutely have missed had we been on our own. She was very pleasant and able to explain things to us in a clear and non patronising way, she had a good sense of humour and really made the tor enjoyable for us. The tour was quite long (3 hours) but a lot of that was standing and looking at things so it wasn't hard work at all. I would very strongly recommend this tour.Written October 14, 2018
- Marilyn B0 contributionsGuide Didn't appearMy husband and I arrived at the old town Square and located the Latvian soldier statue at 10:45 a. M there were many tourists milling around and tours in Russian, French Spanish and German gathering. I was looking for someone near the Occupation Museum (currently and temporarily housed) in the former American embassy. As 11 am approached I went to tour guides at Red Bus and Get on Hop off and free Riga tours to ask if they knew the guide for the Art Nouveau. Noone knew. We waited till 11:15 and then left. The local agency didn't answer their phone. Later they claimed the guide said he/she was there and called my telephone but I didn't get a call. Is looking for a sign, an umbrella, a logo. We have berm on many such tours and that's how guides identify themselves. We later walked to most of the stops listed and loved the art nouveau buildings. I'm disappointed that viator is not accepting the word of someone who had been on as many tours as I have in the last 2 months and reviewed them all.Written August 11, 2018
- jdt7870 contributionsDisappointedI recently booked a tour with Viator to visit Riga, Latvia. The instructions were to meet at the Museum of the Occupation. I was able to find it on Google and Google maps and went to the location. When the time arrived for the tour, the tour guide did not appear so I called Viator who called the local guide. The local guide called me but I was barely able to understand her English. I kept telling her that we were at the museum and all she did was yell at me and say no,, that is not possible, you are not at the museum. After a few phone calls it was clear that we were getting no help from the local guide and I gave up. While walking around the town on our own we saw another museum with exactly the same name. Hard to believe the tour guide did not tell us that there were two museums in Riga with exactly the same name. When we arrived at home, we contacted Viator and asked for a refund of a substantial fee that was charged. They denied it twice without ever addressing the issues, just saying we should have found the second museum. Very unfair. We will never use Viator again as they have no interest in taking care of their customers.Written July 21, 2018
- careymoss320 contributionsInformative, well organized and FREE !Every day at 11am at designated point there is a free walking tour of Riga in English/German and Latvian, covers all the main places of interest within the Old Town and at zero cost why would one not participate. A really good exercise in city hospitality, other capital cities take note!Written April 29, 2018
- Plattypuss520 contributionsNot to be missedWe now take more walking tours as this is a much better way than a bus to familiarise yourselves with the layout and history of the town. The guide was excellent with a wealth of enthusiasm and local knowledge. It really did help us to learn about Riga and it was an excellent start to our stay.Written November 15, 2017
