- twincitiesvac00Historic TallinnThis was the best money spent while In Europe. This tour has to be one of the best historic tours I have taken. We had scheduled it to start at our hotel which is just across from Freedom Square. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and informative on the history of the old town of Tallinn and also was able to make it relatable to our Finnish ancestry. He was very personable and was able to accommodate an older person in our group who needed to take frequent breaks from walking. The five hours seemed to flyby.
- ArabellaDaniela00Best summer decisionDear Ones, I took the best decision for the route from the beautiful city of Tallinn to Riga. I am more than grateful to have had Ivar as a guide and driver, such a balanced, wise and good informed young man. In Viljandi you can make a 30 min round trip to the lake, take the bike path and come back to the van at the museum. Talk to the river in Gaujas. It’s going to be an interesting discussion. Order garlic bread!Enjoy the beauty of Cesis, amazingly well made place. Most of all, be present in the moment. Love and Grace, Arabela
- D3027GC_00Wonder experience can not ask for moreOur guide Katrin gives us a full overview of each stop and an introduction of nature and its background information. All of this information makes the trip more interesting and informative. The trip was organized in a perfect tempo which gives us a clear overview of the nature park. The small group design also made the trip very friendly and we had fun. Definitely recommended as a must-do in Tallinn. Thanks again the team!
- livinit-lovinit100Wonderful ExperienceI did the free tour on my first day and on the second day I did the Lahemaa National Park day tour. The free tour was wonderful, very informative and the guide was really great! The Lahemaa National Park day tour was really lovely. The guide was very friendly, the group sizes are small (no more that 8) and the sites and scenery are beautiful! It was really nice exploring the Estonian countryside and taking in the fresh air and nature. Really recommend both tours. When I come back I’ll boom with them again for sure!
- halo2me00An excellent way to see some more rural sitesWe had a brilliant time on our journey from Tallinn to Riga. Loved all the spots we visited and was interesting getting to know the region more. The weather was a barrier in one spot but this did not put a damper on the day. A pricier way of travelling between the two sites, but for the experience I felt this was worth it
- CarloC95N00A must day trip from TallinnThis tour is definitely a must from Tallinn. The lahemaa national park offers beautiful views and hikes (including a visit to a manor house, viru bog and Jagala waterfall). Our guide (I'm sorry but i forgot the name) has been very kind and gave us a lot of information, including suggestions during our lunch break. In my case, there was also an organizational problem but everything was well handled and they also offered a reward for the inconvenience.
- Zak A00Wonderful visit to Laheema National ParkThe tour to Laheema National Park with Katriin was fantastic. It included the Viru Bog Walk, forests, the beach, Jagala Waterfall and a stop at a traditional Estonian eatery. The waterfall was my favourite part and I would’ve liked more time there. Other than that, Katriin was a wonderful guide with lots of interesting facts for us, the transport was comfortable and the park was beautiful. Would definitely recommend.
- Mara M00Incredible experienceIncredible experience and highly recommended for nature-seekers craving for local and cultural insights. This is a great option if you have only 1 day to discover Estonia or a couple of days as well.
- 231ericab00Chasing dragons in the BalticsThanks to Laura for a great time travelling between Tallinn and Riga. She was very enthusiastic about her part of the world and shared it with the group. It was nice to see different parts of both countries. The lunch was superb and everyone in the group was pleasantly surprised. This is a great way to travel if you have time.
- chrisrF8204AP00Great tour and guideI highly recommend this tour. The guide was phenomenal, with great knowledge and some fantastic stops. Even the lunch venue was great, with vegan options and some delicious kvass.
- 84amalien00Lahemaa day trip! Our guide was informative, talkative and super nice, answering all our questions about Estonian history and culture. Wonderful trip, can’t recommend enough!
- Emmertee00A fantastic day!My husband, 5 kids and I thoroughly enjoyed our day traveling with Ivar. It was a great value for us—not only did he pick us up right outside our Airbnb and took us to some fun stops, but he also found us a delicious lunch stop, helped us locate bathrooms and then a convenience store stop later on so the kids could get sodas and a treat. He was fun, patient and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this experience to anyone traveling from Estonia to Latvia!
- MartinaD163900Great day in Estonian natureThis tour covers many places. There was enough time to enjoy each of them without rushing. It was very well organized and recommend it to everyone who wants to see Estonia beyond Tallinn.
- NotreD8000A delightful, informative tour of TallinnKatrin is a local guide who gave us wonderful insights into Tallinn’s history and the buildings, churches, and old walls, towers, and turrets! She was easy going, informative and a delight to spend a half day with in beautiful, magical Tallinn. Would highly recommend!!!!! PS she gladly took photos of my husband and me

Raimo is a historian with a terrific sense of humor. He is very knowledgeable and able to answer all kinds of questions. He is an engaging speaker that brings history alive. His English is so good I had a hard time believing he was Estonian and not American!

We were delighted with our tour guide, Helen, of Traveller Tours. There were at least 3 cruise ships in port so old town was crowded with over 75 people on our tour (typical size would be 20-30), however it was no problem as local guide, Helen was excellent with a loud voice, extensive and engaging historical and local knowledge all delivered with wit and passion for her homeland of Estonia. We would highly recommend Helen and we hope to return to this beautiful Northern European country.

We attempted the tour with Helen upon arriving in Tallinn. It was raining when we began but fortunately brightened up. Regardless, Helen continued despite the weather and provided us with lots of humour. She clearly knew her history and was able to inform us on Estonian history and culture. Highly recommend!

We had a great tour with Helen. She was so friendly and really informative. She answered everyone's questions and told us a lot about the history which we wouldn't have known about having walked around on our own. It was raining which was unfortunate but we are very glad we went!

The tour was honestly one of the best I’ve been on.
Our guide Raimo, a masters history student, was very detailed and fun! Answered all of my questions, some even before I got a chance to ask!
10/10 tour!

I once met a magic penguin in Tallinn. While magic penguins have nothing to do with Estonian pagan mythology, they might soon. You see the one I met was owned by Mirjam, a host of the Tallinn Old Town Walking Tour. It was clear to me that to possess a magic penguin made you wise in history, engaging, funny and able to endlessly jump on the spot to ensure that your group does not wander off. It is all very entertaining. :-)

Tallinn is such a charming town and we are SO glad we made the day trip from Helsinki to visit Tallinn in Dec 2018. Our guide Kert is a knowledgeable, warm and competent guide who is patient even with inquisitive young children. He was accomodating and took great care of us. He showed us around Tallinn Old Town the way a local could, exploring famous landmarks and regaling us with tales of its history...We wish we have more time to explore more of Tallinn. We couldn't recommend this walking tour enough. Thanks Kert!

We did the 2 hour free walking tour with Ray back in mid-September, and this was fantastic. He had a great way of commanding our attention, and was full of great knowledge. He is truly an asset to the company.
We had tried to book the day trip to Narva, and I had made the booking online back in March or April of 2018, for travel in September 2018. I was then advised that there was a minimum of 4 passengers required (I don't recall seeing this printed anywhere, but it is possible it was). So I checked in monthly or so leading up to our trip and no one else seemed to be booking this tour. I was assured that it was 'almost' guaranteed that other people would book.
Closer to the date (late August), I requested to be booked on a second tour as our backup (Coastal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski) and was advised that one of those two tours should be possible.
We were advised the day before the scheduled tour that neither of these tours were running, and the only tour possible was the Lahemaa National Park tour, which didn't interest us. We would have even paid for the option for either of the other 2 tours to be made private, but that was never given to us as an option.
Now, we had an extra full day in Tallinn with no plans. It is a beautiful place, and we were able to occupy ourselves by wandering, but more notice would have been lovely so we could have made other arrangements, or given the option pay more to make it private would be have been nice.
We went to the Tourist Info center (where the Free Walk leaves from) to see if we could find something else to do on our newly free day. We found a great brochure for a ghost walk that evening, and to our delight, that day was one of the two days weekly that it runs! We had the lovely lady in the information booth check to see if it was still available for booking for that night, and to our surprise it was also run by Traveller Tours, but not so surprising ... also cancelled that day.
Our experience with Traveller Tours was a bit of a let down to be honest, I was willing to pay more to go on one of these tours on a private basis, but was never given that option.
Ray on our walking tour was the only positive experience that we had with the company. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of other options for Tallinn at the moment, but I hope in the future there might be more consistency.

Had excellent, informative, fun free walking tour with Ray. There were 40+ people on the tour but he managed to keep us all interested and engaged. It lasts about 2 hours and would recommend to find out the history of Estonia along with local information and places to eat and drink. Well worth the time.

Raimo (Rey) was standing next to the tourist information centre where I met him. It was 5 mins before the tour was to start and in no time I saw a flock of 60 people around him. He is an amazing storyteller with great sense of humor. Its always nice to learn to history of the place while looking at lovely monuments. Rey, really made the tour fun, enjoyable and one to reminisce. I highly recommend this tour. One of the best "free" walking tours in the city.
