- canudigit680 contributionstop tour and guideGreat day experiencing Estonian landscape and seeing its beautiful nature. The peat bog at the national park is something especially unique. Excellent local knowledge and guidance throughout.Written November 28, 2024
- samlD9551OI0 contributionsAmazing way to get from Tallinn to RigaOur guide Ruta was fantastic it’s a day I’ll never forget. She had so many interesting stories and advice. The group is small so you get a close knit group and the lunch place was great. I wouldn’t hesitate to go on it again.Written October 25, 2024
- guacyarad0 contributionsPaisagens exuberantes!!!The weather was sunny and pleasant that allowed a tour most about nature. Our guide Ruta has a lot of knowledge about the region. I strongly suggest do this tour with this company.Written October 21, 2024
- JacqyBee0 contributionsTrip to a city that did not existNarva castle & Eastern bloc Day tour We enjoyed our private tour with guide George, he tailored our day to our wishes and was knowledgeable and entertaining. Our first stop was a waterfall and a seashore. Actually, the waterfall ended in the beach, and the mix of both soothing water sounds really made my day (and I put them in a sound loop to create a sleeping sound :-) My travel compagnion best experience were the different sweet smells of the forests we have been in.We visited the Narva castle and I had never been so close to the Ru border. Then we had an excellent lunch in a university building and went for our last stop, Sillamäe. This is a small city with a crazy history. From fishermans town, to luxury resort, to industrial oil plant, to concentrations camps, to a uranium plant to manufacture a nuclear bomb, and that gave the status of a secret and closed town, wiped off the map. And in recent history everyone can freely enjoy the promenade and seashore. So did we.Written October 21, 2024
- JacqyBee0 contributionsWe walked the walk and got the talkOur guide George picked up the group, and it turned out we were a great mix of nationalities and personalities and knowledges, this already was a source of fun!George knew a lot about his country and was also sensitive to everyone's needs. We visited the Jägala waterfall, the Sagadi Manor, and had a hike through the forest to the seashore, all in beautiful autumn colors. Then a nice traditional style lunch, to be prepared for the next hike; my personal highlight of the day: the Viru wetlands. Somehow pictures never do justice to the feel of being there, in beautiful nature. George encouraged us to take moments of being quiet and feel the spirit of Estonia. And we did! What a lovely day.Written October 20, 2024
- 724shanh0 contributionsA pleasant experienceKalev was a great guide and the journey was full of surprises despite bad weather. We were a group of three friends and we got on so well with Kalev. He was patient and helped us to slow down and enjoy what's in front of us. The highlight for me was the walk in the forest, finding interesting artisans in local villages, good food from unexpected places, discovering folk music, etc. I would totally recommend.Written October 8, 2024
- A7043XLfb0 contributionsGreat host, great vibesGeorge picked us up from the city centre and was kind and welcoming to us all day. He knew so much about the history of Estonia and an expert in architecture! The tour itself was so beautiful and George was so knowledgeable. He then took us for traditional Estonian lunch which was SO delicious. He also drove us to the airport after as our flight was after the tour ended, which was very kind. For the sights, we saw the waterfalls, the forest, the beach, the bog and it was really a lovely day. I really recommend.Written September 30, 2024
- S2279MFalexf0 contributionsFantastic tourWe did the Narva day tour. Such a fantastic tour, we got to the Estonian and Russian border, with multiple fascinating stops along the way. Uku was such a knowledgeable tour guide, very friendly and funny. Small group of 7, great number. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip.Written September 29, 2024
- mymaschere0 contributionsLovely introduction to Estonian FoodMariel was friendly and informative. She led us through the old town to the markets and beyond. She fully explained each of the foods we tried. And there was plenty (we actually shared our tastes and there was still left overs for us to take home). We finished back in the old town for dessert. Before she left us she gave us an exhaustive list of places to see and places to eat.Just fabulous.Written September 29, 2024
- 242emiliec0 contributionsLahemaa national park day tripNice day out of Tallin. Had a nice time. the castle visit was the less interesting part though. Loved the forest and the bog.Written September 27, 2024
- annmC839WJ0 contributionsLahemaa National Park Day TripKatrin was an excellent tour guide for our day's adventures at the bog, lunch, historic site/museum and beach. Her insights into Estonian geography, geology, biology, culture, and history added an extra dimension to our experiences. The pacing was perfect. I highly recommend this tour!Written September 14, 2024
- bonniecY4727YO0 contributionsSee the natural beauty of EstoniaThe scenery was wonderful. Katrin was a wonderful guide, very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour fills up the whole day, but you never feel rushed or bored. Lots of walking. Great way to get outdoors and see a different side of Estonia!Written September 14, 2024
- ianaB7852JR0 contributionsSuperb visit to Lahemma National ParkThis is one tour everyone must do whilst in Tallinn. There were eight of us and our guide Katrine. We went to the waterfall then across the bog. We had lunch then went to the Manor and finished with a walk through the forest to the beach. Before I tell you about the fantastic tour we had I must tell you about the phenomenal Katrine. She was very professional, very knowledgeable, very friendly and answered all the questions fired at her. When we had lunch she helped us choose the right dishes for lunch and explained what went into the Estonian dishes. Katrine was absolutely amazing and worked so hard so we could enjoy the day. I would appreciate my thanks being passed onto her. The waterfall was amazing and learnt a lot from Katrine about the waterfall. The wall across the bog was the highlight and Katrine had a lot of knowledge about the bogs. The journey across the bogs was an amazing and most beautiful walk. You're walking on boards so you don't get dirty. You get to a viewing platform and the path goes from a wide path to a very narrow path. If people want to pass one of you had better get off the planks of wood and stand on a wooden slat beside the boards. Manor House was very nice although it didn't have furniture in the rooms. It is actually used for weddings and parties more these days. The museum was fascinating about forest life. The forest walk to the sea was really lovely and we spent some time there as well. It was an absolutely fantastic day and the free time we had was just about the right amount of time. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone, it is absolutely brilliant. It deserves many more than five stars as does Katrine.Written September 14, 2024
- lizzylu40 contributionsFantastic day outMy husband and I had a fantastic day out to the Lahemaa national park. The guide was so informative and all the stops were well worth the time. The bog walk was a highlight of our time in Estonia. Definitely would recommend this company.Written September 12, 2024
- dawshap20240 contributionsBest of Both WorldsWe thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Tallinn and Lahemaa Park. Kullo was an excellent guide. He shared lots of interesting history with us in the city and catered the walk to our interests. We loved the national park and getting out into nature. The swim in the bog was incredible. It was a really unique landscape. We also enjoyed the waterfall and singing grounds. The whole day was excellent and we really appreciated getting picked up and dropped off at the cruise terminal so we could enjoy as much of the tour as possible. Absolutely would recommend!Written September 4, 2024

We visited Tallinn on a day trip while visiting Helsinki (it is about a 2 hour ferry ride). Tallinn has a wonderfully preserved medieval old town, amongst the best in Europe. We spend the entire day exploring the old town on a self-guided tour (having planned out the route ahead of time). Tallinn is a beautiful city, well worth while visiting. It is not large, so you can cover the old city easily in a day, but a couple of days would be needed if you want to explore some of the sites and enjoy some good restaurants.

Raimo is a historian with a terrific sense of humor. He is very knowledgeable and able to answer all kinds of questions. He is an engaging speaker that brings history alive. His English is so good I had a hard time believing he was Estonian and not American!

Our tour guide, Marie, was excellent! Her knowledge of the facts was obvious, and she related them well. In addition, she let us get to know her as a person along with her culture. Several people on the tour told me she was the best guide they ever had.

We were delighted with our tour guide, Helen, of Traveller Tours. There were at least 3 cruise ships in port so old town was crowded with over 75 people on our tour (typical size would be 20-30), however it was no problem as local guide, Helen was excellent with a loud voice, extensive and engaging historical and local knowledge all delivered with wit and passion for her homeland of Estonia. We would highly recommend Helen and we hope to return to this beautiful Northern European country.

We attempted the tour with Helen upon arriving in Tallinn. It was raining when we began but fortunately brightened up. Regardless, Helen continued despite the weather and provided us with lots of humour. She clearly knew her history and was able to inform us on Estonian history and culture. Highly recommend!

We had a great tour with Helen. She was so friendly and really informative. She answered everyone's questions and told us a lot about the history which we wouldn't have known about having walked around on our own. It was raining which was unfortunate but we are very glad we went!

The tour was honestly one of the best I’ve been on.
Our guide Raimo, a masters history student, was very detailed and fun! Answered all of my questions, some even before I got a chance to ask!
10/10 tour!

I once met a magic penguin in Tallinn. While magic penguins have nothing to do with Estonian pagan mythology, they might soon. You see the one I met was owned by Mirjam, a host of the Tallinn Old Town Walking Tour. It was clear to me that to possess a magic penguin made you wise in history, engaging, funny and able to endlessly jump on the spot to ensure that your group does not wander off. It is all very entertaining. :-)

Tallinn is such a charming town and we are SO glad we made the day trip from Helsinki to visit Tallinn in Dec 2018. Our guide Kert is a knowledgeable, warm and competent guide who is patient even with inquisitive young children. He was accomodating and took great care of us. He showed us around Tallinn Old Town the way a local could, exploring famous landmarks and regaling us with tales of its history...We wish we have more time to explore more of Tallinn. We couldn't recommend this walking tour enough. Thanks Kert!

We did the 2 hour free walking tour with Ray back in mid-September, and this was fantastic. He had a great way of commanding our attention, and was full of great knowledge. He is truly an asset to the company.
We had tried to book the day trip to Narva, and I had made the booking online back in March or April of 2018, for travel in September 2018. I was then advised that there was a minimum of 4 passengers required (I don't recall seeing this printed anywhere, but it is possible it was). So I checked in monthly or so leading up to our trip and no one else seemed to be booking this tour. I was assured that it was 'almost' guaranteed that other people would book.
Closer to the date (late August), I requested to be booked on a second tour as our backup (Coastal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski) and was advised that one of those two tours should be possible.
We were advised the day before the scheduled tour that neither of these tours were running, and the only tour possible was the Lahemaa National Park tour, which didn't interest us. We would have even paid for the option for either of the other 2 tours to be made private, but that was never given to us as an option.
Now, we had an extra full day in Tallinn with no plans. It is a beautiful place, and we were able to occupy ourselves by wandering, but more notice would have been lovely so we could have made other arrangements, or given the option pay more to make it private would be have been nice.
We went to the Tourist Info center (where the Free Walk leaves from) to see if we could find something else to do on our newly free day. We found a great brochure for a ghost walk that evening, and to our delight, that day was one of the two days weekly that it runs! We had the lovely lady in the information booth check to see if it was still available for booking for that night, and to our surprise it was also run by Traveller Tours, but not so surprising ... also cancelled that day.
Our experience with Traveller Tours was a bit of a let down to be honest, I was willing to pay more to go on one of these tours on a private basis, but was never given that option.
Ray on our walking tour was the only positive experience that we had with the company. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of other options for Tallinn at the moment, but I hope in the future there might be more consistency.
