The first in line is the Visitor Centre, where the tour starts and our guests arrive, a waiting centre in THE UNDERGROUND with an information desk, café and gift shop. Inside the Parliament, you can see the Dome Hall, the Ceremonial Steps, of course, the Holy Crown, and an exhibition on your way out. The ticket price also includes a museum outside the Parliament called the Parliament Museum.

The Parliament Building is one of the most outstanding buildings in Budapest, so we decided to go onto one of the official tours. We purchased tickets on the day itself, half an hour before the tour started for 10,000 Ft each. I would higly recommend the tour, as this seems to be the only way to access the inside of the building and go through the various chambers and corridors. Well worth the visit!

Budapest Parliament is an opulent, historically fascinating building on the banks of the Danube in the centre of Budapest. The tour is very expensive for the brief 30 minutes it takes to walk round and over subscribed, so expect some pushing and jostling. It is a magnificent building and I would recommend but be warned, it's overpriced. Walk around the outside as a cheaper alternative.

We tried to book a tour on our first afternoon in Budapest for some point during our 4 day visit . Unfortunately even out of high season, tours were fully booked up for the next three weeks . If you queued at 7.30am, there were a few tickets held back but very much a first come first serve basis. Quite pricey too but if you have an Eu passport ( need passport to book visit) you get your ticket at a discounted price. The architecture outside is simply stunning during the day and when lit up at night . Shame we didn’t get to see inside . Maybe next time ,

Book a timed entrance ticket in advance to avoid disappointment as tickets on the day sell out quickly. The building is spectacular inside and out. You must go round with an escorted group. The audio guide provided was of good quality, staff were polite and helpful. You can take photos in certain rooms but not of the crown, which is guarded. Glad to have visited, though felt a little disappointed the tickets for non EU citizens were more expensive than those living in the EU. Also please be aware as it is a Government building, you must show your passport or driving licence before entry and we had to allow our tour guide to collect them up for the group to show to the staff, which made us just a little apprehensive!

A very splendid building and informative tour, but it was very short and quite expensive, especially for us from the UK who had booked on the English Tour, not realising that non-EU visitors did not qualify for discounted ticket prices. I think it cost us about £45 each with the supplement we had to pay. That being said, if you chance buying tickets on the day directly from the visitor centre, you may be disappointed as they only sell tickets for that day and when we arrived most tours were already sold out. So I suppose you could consider the premium a queue jumping levy.

We were meeting in The Parliament visitor Center. The 45 minute guided tour started from there, the entire building was really beautiful, and the guide was very informative. It was a great idea to see the building and also the Hungarian Holy Crown.

As we could not get guided tour tickets, we took the audio tour. These are offered in 14-15 languages.
The internet booking procedure was superb. No hassles. At the venue, we exchanged the coupon for the ticket.

The Visitor Centre is underground. As far as i saw, there is no reference to exact location of this Centre in any document or material. I think this needs to be said, as like many others, we were going around the large building looking for it. There should be a specific reference to its precise location.

The tour thru the audio guide was clear, very informative and worked perfectly; the human guides accompanying the group saw that no body got lost, strayed or misbehaved ! From the start, it was precision.

The end was clear too, we landed up in the exhibition where we could once again check on the facts heard during the tour.

The shop has a large range of merchandise.

A delightful time well worth the 45 minutes of the guided tour.

Emanuel acted strictly as broker not guide. If he was busy he was unable to hold his name sign, or identify himself as person mentioned in e mail sent with instructions prior to tour. Both he and the young lady working with him would listen to questions but gave very curt answer. My party was left to wonder if national id was required, no help offered. Tour was scheduled to start at 10:15, started 30 minutes late. Was led to believe it was prompt but were informed when asked they were waiting for late person. Tour itself was good but all prior interactions with representatives was very poor. Might recommend simply buying on site rather then go through this.

    Professional, polite, well organized.

The parliament audio guided tour is a must do if you are visiting Budapest.

However, the tour company is acting as an optional and overpriced intermediary, they gather the group by language, go to the ticket desk buy the tickets, they hand you your entrance tickets and they are done! You go on your own through security and start the audio guided tour in the company of competent parliament staff. You can do it at a fraction of the price if you buy the entrance ticket yourself at the Parliament visitor's centre. They have an info desk and ticket sales counters.

This visit , which included multi lingual audio guides was very informative ,as well as the audio guide an actual guide accompanies you in you time allocated group.(one every 15 mins).
The building is impressive and is apparently based on the uk Houses of Parliament.
The visitor centre is below ground level at the side of the building and there are toilets outside.
We had pre booked and printed paper tickets , so no queue at ticket office for us,as you can’t get in with e tickets. You must go to the ticket office to collect your paper one.
Very expensive tour if you are from UK double the cost of that paid by EU citizens.
