Rockhoppers' "Mystery of an Ottoman Turkish Bath" Tour
By Rockhoppers Private Tours
A real unique thing of the world! A 16th century Ottoman Turkish bath fed by natural thermal springs!
Rudas Bath was built by the Ottoman Turks in the 16th century at the place that later got the name: BUDAPEST.
While Turkish baths in Istanbul or other places in Turkey are in short of water, so they have to carry water to the bath and generate steam of it, Budapest has a lot of hot springs; so beside enjoying steam and heat, you may even soak into the pools of various temperature and chemical composition!
Rockhoppers will introduce you to the way how to use the bath, and charge your batteries for a week; and if you have a chance to return, you can prolong the effect.
The hottest pool in the Rudas is radioactive, but don’t worry, it is well below the harmful level, however, it has rejuvenescent effect! However, even if you do it once, the result will be noticeable.

Border of the Ottoman Turkish Empire was fairly close to Vienna, Austria. However, Turks have never occupied Vienna, but Budapest, which they used to call "Red Apple" (Kirmizi Elma in Turkish). We had an opportunity to visit all Turkish Baths in Budapest, and a mauzoleum of a Bektashi dervish Gül Baba. It is rather unusual to see to completely contradictive architectural styles in a city: Ottoman Turkish and also Art Nouveau. I can recommend this tour to every interested visitor, and don't miss taking a bath at the Rudas Bath! The loveliest I have ever tried.
